"The Common is an independent coffee shop sharing its space with an architecture studio. The concept aimes to blur the boundaries between private office and public cafe, which makes it a very unique place. The heart of the café is a long communal table where visitors can sit and chat with each other over a great latte and a pain au chocolat. Toasted sandwiches, quiches with salad, soups, avocado on toasts and a selection of cakes and pastries form a varied menu for breakfast and lunch. Hidden gem situated in a quiet street, the Common is a peaceful alternative to the otherwise busy East London. PS: the loo is cute - a little shed in the backyard." - Mélanie Hubert-Crozet

"A corner of the world" is a convivial and lively Portuguese café that opened in April 2015. Coffee Portuguese-style, pastéis de nata, pastéis de bacalhau and a range of tasty toasties, it's perfect for a casual lunch. There is also a deli shop of products from Portugal, Spain and some other places of the globe. It always feels sunny there, with some fado in the background." - Mélanie Hubert-Crozet

What a lovely cafe! I’m so glad that I happened upon it by chance, while roaming around the area. The coffee was delicious, as was the cake that I chose. Many thanks to the lovely lady and gentleman who served me. I was made to feel very welcome and I do hope that I get the opportunity to visit again. Thank you also for the excellent music being played in the background 😊

Lovely place with gluten-free and celiac options. I got the chocolate brownies and carrot cake for a friend. Definitely coming back! Friendly staff and perfect for bringing your laptop and answering some emails. Top!

Lovely tiny cafe. I had a smoked bacon wrap, which was really lovely, flavoursome with a hint of mustard. My flat white was fantastic, made by the tall friendly barista. Lot of regular customers too. I was under the impression, after listening to a Coffee podcast of Mark - the owner - and looking at the pictures that the place was bigger - only a table of 6, the back was a workshop area - and had a more extensive menu. Which was quite limited on the day of my visit. I still recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Popped in as I was in the area and remembered the cafe from my time at Crown Works Pottery. Ordered a lemon chicken sandwich and a cappuccino to go. The sandwich was honestly one of the best I've had. Sandwiches can be quite expensive nowadays, but I'm honestly more disappointed than pleased. This sarnie was delicious. Flavours were bold and complementary. The sourdough wasn't overpowering either. Oh and the bread didn't slice my gums into bits. Def will stop by again, if im in the area!

Walked out of my way this morning to try a new coffee shop, and I'm so glad I did! The coffee itself tasted like no other place (in a good way!) and the milk was perfect for my liking, which can sometimes be a hit or miss, specially trying new cafes. Reasonable priced and nice staff. Highly recommend:)

An absolute hidden gem for brunch. The atmosphere and decor is so lovely and relaxing. Whole space is very light and airy. The staff are really friendly and sweet. We felt very welcome. The food is delicious. Very fresh and good quality. Also a great price - we paid £13 a head for a breakfast and coffee. Will definitely be stopping by again soon.

Friendly staff and the place looks cozy. Good coffee but the food wasn’t great, it was average.

Common E2 is a delightful spot for coffee and pastries. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting, making it perfect for a relaxing morning or an afternoon treat. Their selection of pastries is outstanding, offering a variety of freshly baked goods that are both delicious and visually appealing. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic croissant, a decadent danish, or something more unique, Common E2 has you covered. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality pastries in a charming setting.

Yelp
During my visit, I was one of only five persons seated in the restaurant and the only one eating. The others were surrounded by empty cups of coffee and enjoying the free wifi. Two of them, each others' company. Everything appeared comfortable when I walked in. I liked the short menu, casual atmosphere and location and thought my friend's suggestion was a good one. This place has the latest trendy look of cafes at the time. My experience is from March of 2017. However, I must say the food and drink just left me wanting and was not at all good value for the price. I ordered the most simple items on the menu and was very disappointed with what I received. My order took more than 15 minutes to prepare and what I received was a lukewarm cappuccino (not surprised, given the barista looked very uncomfortable using the coffee machine). A slice of warmed sourdough with chopped (flavorless) avocado and a very overcooked, but cold "poached" egg. In all fairness, the egg was simply boiled. There is absolutely no excuse for this sort of thing and while the right thing to do is to get a manager and allow an establishment to correct itself, I did not see anyone else present, nor did I have another half hour to wait for this to get rectified. Perhaps I stopped in on an off day, or the regular people were not working. What ever the reason, I WILL NOT go back to the E2 Common and WILL NOT recommend them to anyone else, no matter how close they are to your flat.

Yelp
Beautiful place with a good food selection. They have the staples like avo and toast and eggs, neither of which I tried. Their daily special was a shaksuka, which was delicious. The flat whites are made quite well. Quite a few things to read and they have wifi as well,
