"The Butcher’s Daughter might have originated in New York, but it’s found its spiritual home on Abbot Kinney. From juices and “wellness lattes” to cauliflower grits and an entire section of the menu devoted to avocado toast, everything about it is a California cliché. Sometimes the dairy-replacement can mean dishes get a bit heavy, but in a world of terrible, tasteless, healthy food, The Butcher’s Daughter is a welcome oasis." - Jess Basser Sanders

"Count on Joya Carlton, the former chef at Buvette, to help open up another stellar brunch spot. Set up on the corner of bustling Kenmare Street in Nolita, the Butcher's Daughter offers the kind of vegetarian fare you can feel good about—their version of a breakfast sandwich features an egg, cashew cheese, kale, and tomato jam on an English muffin; their organic muesli is topped with fresh fruit and almond milk. The cold-pressed juices are easy to make a habit of—the honey bee, with grapefruit, turmeric, yuzu, kumquat, honey, and bee pollen is good for fending off colds. The minimalist (but Instagram-ready) decor includes big-picture windows, bleached wood, and exposed brick; produce hangs from meat hooks and herbal infusions are lined up behind the bar."

"Deli Style Reuben at Butcher’s Daughter: This modish restaurant that styles itself a “vegetable slaughterhouse” is all vegetarian and also mainly vegan and gluten free. It’s also jammed with customers most of the day. But one element of its veganism is the use of meat substitutes and soy cheese, and those substitutes taste uniformly terrible, whether imitating corned beef, merguez, or a slice of American cheese. The café’s Reuben is particularly loathsome, disrespecting a sandwich that’s a New York City icon. And on white bread, too." - Robert Sietsema

It was my first time dining at a vegetarian restaurant, and I was truly impressed! The food was absolutely amazing — full of flavor and beautifully presented. My favorite dishes were the fried mushrooms, carbonara spaghetti, and for dessert, the pistachio brownies with pistachio ice cream — all so delicious! The staff were super friendly, and the drink I had was just as great. Such a memorable experience that changed the way I see vegetarian food. I’ll definitely be back!

This spot is definitely Instagram-worthy, and the plate presentation was amazing. I really enjoyed the hummus. However, the burger and pizza were a bit greasy, which was a letdown. It's a shame when the food at such a great-looking place doesn't quite meet the high expectations

Absolutely amazing! We came to The Butcher’s Daughter three times during our vacation in NYC — twice for dinner and once for breakfast — and every single visit was a highlight. The place is incredibly charming, the service is exceptionally friendly, and the food is simply outstanding. We especially fell in love with the vegan pizza — hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. You can really feel the love and creativity in every dish. This place absolutely deserves 5 stars!

The food was amazing. I had the country breakfast. Only criticism I had to say is the impossible burger was dry. The kale was perfect! The buckwheat pancakes was good. Texture was great. They have to do a better job with the pizza. The crust was soggy but the taste was good. The vitality elixer was good with a nice ginger and lemon punch 🥊. Our waiter, Erick, was attentive, professional and great. The ambiance is beautiful. It was a great experience. Happy Father’s Day.

Bright, Fresh & Always a Vibe – A Plant-Based Favorite The Butcher’s Daughter is one of those spots that makes healthy eating feel like a treat, not a compromise. From the moment you walk in, the airy, plant-filled interior sets the tone — it’s stylish, relaxed, and full of good energy. The menu is vegetarian with plenty of vegan options, and everything feels thoughtfully crafted. The juices are vibrant and refreshing (highly recommend the “Hangover Killer” even if you’re not hungover), and the avocado toast is a classic for a reason — fresh, zesty, and perfectly balanced. The pasta and daily specials are also consistently flavorful and satisfying, even for non-vegetarians. Service is friendly, and the crowd is a mix of locals and visitors — always buzzing, especially on weekends, so expect a short wait. But once you’re seated, it’s a great place to linger over a coffee or a turmeric latte and just enjoy the atmosphere.

The Butcher’s Daughter, A Lovely Vegan Brunch Spot in New York If you’re looking for a charming place to enjoy brunch or sip on a great coffee or matcha, The Butcher’s Daughter is a must-visit. The café has a really cute and cozy atmosphere, and when the weather is nice, their outdoor terrace is a perfect spot to relax. I went for the avocado toast, simple but really tasty, paired with a fresh juice and a muffin. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, it was a really good brunch experience. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a chill and delicious meal in the city!

Amazingly light and bright atmosphere. Very friendly hosts, great music! Definitely try the golden state or cardamom Chai they have refreshing kick of unexpectedly delicious spices in them.

This is a pretty solid vegan spot located in Nolita! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose where to sit. Unfortunately when I went, it started to rain so we couldn't enjoy outdoor seating, but I imagine that it would be so nice in the summer. Service was a bit spotty but still nice and our food came out really fast. My friend and I got a couple drinks off of their HH menu and their cocktails were good but definitely on the sweeter side. For food, we got their pesto pizza and their chips with dip. Both dishes were good bites and good to enjoy as we chatted and drank. I didn't even notice the pizza was vegan until I realized the place was vegan. And, their chips and dip had freshly fried potato chips and I loved how creamy their dip was. Good spot to check out if you're looking for some vegan food!

Yelp
we stopped into the butcher's daughter in hopes of some vegan breakfast options. they had a few menu items we could work with. i got avocado toast + rice paper bacon. the curry oil added a nice flavor that wasn't overpowering. the rice paper bacon was crunchy and seasoned well. i wished that it had more of that chewy texture that can be achieved using rice paper for bacon but it was still a good addition to the toast. my partner got the country breakfast - sub tofu scramble for eggs and sub sourdough toast for the buttermilk biscuit. the braised kale was flavorful. the toast was super dry. i don't think country breakfast is an accurate name for this dish either lol. overall it was a good meal but nothing show stopping.

Yelp
Food: they offer vegan/vegetarian food and it's delicious! I had the surfer burrito and the crispy tater tots inside added a nice crunch to the burrito. Everything was very fresh, made to order. It's pricey and worth it. Service: you order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. We sat outside on a sunny July and it was a vibe!

Yelp
SERVICE - located on the border of nolita and little Italy - seating is a little confusing since there is one section that is meant for to-go orders and the other section meant for dine in - lots of outdoor tables - ambiance good for casual brunch - servers on the to-go side do not come to your table to take your order but this was not made clear so we waited at our table for nearly 20 minutes before going inside and ordering - once ordered, food served quickly MENU - cafe style selection of brunch items, pizza, salads, and drinks - vegan and gluten free options - slightly pricey ($20 per entree) FOOD - buckwheat pancakes (3/10): three buckwheat pancakes topped with stewed berries and a generous dollop of coconut cream with matcha sugar and a side of maple syrup. The description sounded so appealing and it was one of the only sweet vegan dishes for brunch so I thought to try it. Sadly the best part was the matcha sugar in the cream. The pancakes were flat and stuck to each other. The parts that had berries on top became soggy. There was a lot of sweet tastes with the coconut and the maple and the fruit with nothing to cut that except the tiny bits of earthy matcha. WOULD I GO BACK? I really wanted it to be good especially since I had enjoyed the food in the LA location. Maybe I will go back for one of the savory items.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. It's cute and great location. It's difficult to get a reservation so I was so happy to finally make it there for brunch. But I was a bit underwhelmed by the food. First I got a green juice to drink which I was expecting to be fresh but it came in a prepackaged bottle. Then I ordered the gluten free dairy free waffles for my main brunch meal. The whole reason I came to this place was for the waffles specifically. But they tasted super gluten free if you know what I mean. They were very hard and tasted very similar to the freezer waffles I put in my toaster at home. I was so excited about this place and just felt it didn't quite live up to the hype

Yelp
One of my new fav spots for brunch- First of all it has great ambiance and decor-Great brunch vibes!!! You have option of indoor and outdoor seatings. This place is mostly busy so having reservations is great! We tried their Mykonos breakfast bowl/ Country breakfast-both were amazinggggg!!! Food was great and cold press juices were the best! Tried the orange one. Will defo go back.

Haley Z.

Yelp
Spent a nice recent breakfast watching the rain through the front windows at short bar seating eating delicious comfort inducing foods. The cold press juices and wellness lates and smoothies are my favorite part of this restaurant. I'm not a big drink girly but their options were exciting and prompted me to order one. They are full of layers of flavor, never watery or lacking. There are plenty to choose from and the ingredients are real, simple, and clearly labeled. I got the #13 Goddess of Green and was very happy with how well balanced the ingredients and flavors were. We also ordered The Best Egg Sandwich which was familiar and filing. We also ordered The Waffles with Beets (great combo of the earthy beet and the sweetness of buttery whip and maple) and a perfectly frothy cappuccino. The artfulness of the atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant was my second favorite part. It's bright and welcoming, but feels cozy and like you're at a friends. The plating on neutral, natural elements like a wooden board with the logo are beautiful touches that add to the experience. There were only a handful of other customers dining at the same times we were there. Our food came out quickly and hot. We didn't need much, but we didn't see our server most of the time we were there, he was busy talking to a friend/other customer most of the time. It didn't affect our service or time there at all, but if we happened to need something it likely would have.

Valerie N.

Yelp
Such a cute place with nice service but I still don't understand why this place has so much hype. The food was just meh and I still felt hungry not because the portions are small, but because the food isn't satisfying. I got their brunch croissant and you can definitely tell it's vegan/vegetarian. I like eating non-meat items, but this felt lacking.

Katelyn N.

Yelp
Didn't know this was a vegetarian spot, but a pretty good brunch. Passion mimosa was fireeeeee. Food was pretty okay, i think we would have to find the right menu items for us. Has GF DF options. Great service, but seating was pretty a$$. inside was small and outside we were boiling in the sun. Coffees were really good. I think i'd like to come back and try more.

Joann S.

Yelp
Mix-up with the waitress caused her to be a little passive aggressive with us. It was totally a miscommunication issue but I personally wait until after the customer leaves to whisper and rant Calamari was so great though! Loved it. Pizza was also amazing.

Liz C.

Yelp
***Outdoor seating, Good Service, Resys Recommended*** Their new spot, a few steps away from their old location is primarily indoors. But they have outdoor bench and chair seatings at the old location. I highly recommend reservations as it was fairly busy. The smoothie was a hit for me; although I wished it was a tad bit colder. The sandwich was delicious but I would have enjoyed a side of fruits or fries with it!

Dave K.

Yelp
Love the irony in the name, but that's pretty much it. Pros: - Loved the mushroom calamari; great texture but could have used a bit of salt - Burrata was fresh and delicious, but toasted bread would have provided a better textural contrast - Mushroom pizza was delicious, though it was served at room temperature Con's - service - service - service Service was really terrible. There were two employees standing around the uncrowded bar area while one server had to manage several tables. It was so hard to get his attention Food was served at the wrong temperature because it was probably sitting around while the staff were standing around :( It took us 25 mins to get the check and to go containers. Won't be going back for sure!

Yelp
Interesting breakfast experience at "The Butcher's Daughter" near Soho which was recommended by the Moxy Hotel, where I was a guest for several days for a business event. Upon arrival the decor was lovely and reminded me of a charming cafe decorated in white and yellow. My greeting was met with a long blank stare with a vague suggestion that I can sit where ever available on the patio. Thank you for the very dry welcome! I ordered a green juice which was absolutely wonderful to start the day! I also ordered the Mediterranean breakfast and requested my meal on a plate served tapas style. I appreciate the chef accommodating my request to not mix up my dish in a bowl, which is how it's habitually served. The egg whites and potatoes were served hot. I noticed the missing arugula from my dish 5 mins into eating and fact checked the order via Yelps menu which indeed confirmed the Mediterranean dish also had arugula. I looked up and made eye contact with the host who came over to check on me. I explained to her my dish was missing arugula and I would like to please have it. She rudely replied "It looks like you kinda ordered the Mediterranean dish" which I politely replied, "No, I did not kinda order the Mediterranean dish, this is my actual order and I would like to please have the arugula salad since it comes with my dish and I did not request the removal of any items". The arugula was brought on a small side plate piled up high very dry without any dessing but a side of dry attitude. I inquired if I can have a vinaigrette dressing and was informed they only had a vegan dressing option which was fantastic since I am dairy free of all cow products. In conclusion, the service interaction was not pleasant as paying clients should be treated nicely. The meal was good but nothing remarkable as there are certainly much better options in NYC for service and quality. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. Dr. Tanya

Yelp
My husband and I came in for breakfast expecting a simple meal and we were totally blown away. I ordered what's called on the menu the best breakfast sandwich ever and it did not disappoint. It is a fresh and buttery croissant topped with avocado, kale and egg. It is absolutely to die for. In fact, I love it so much, but I came in again the next day to order the same thing for breakfast! The cauliflower cacio e pepe was also divine and so original. The interior is simple, but with lots of plants that keep it fresh and bright looking. The service was excellent. What a great find!

Yelp
After shooting at an undisclosed New York location for an undisclosed non-New York brand, the Art and Image Director chose the Butcher's Daughter for a celebration meal. Let's just say the location rhymes with "Batz"......... hehehehehe. I can't say anymore or Shiva would have my head on a platter. On the walk over, all 5 of us were so hangry that we weren't really talking much, just one of those awkward walks where everyone is in a daze and staying quiet to kind of keep the peace. We pulled up to the Butcher's Daughter around noon, hungrier than a 2008 Kobe Bryant post Celtics loss. We left our all in "Batz." Upon arrival, we were met with a beautiful exterior and outdoor patio engulfed by yellow and white striped umbrellas. The chairs were also the same yellow, and the wooden tables outside weren't from Ikea if you know what I'm saying. This attention to detail continued to the interior. Fairplay, Butcher's Daughter. We get inside and scan the menu, now hungrier than a 2006 Kobe Bryant. The Art and Image Director and I both get the Healing Harvest Bowl, as we need a good portion size of clean food to refuel. For full transparency, I would have gotten whatever he got to try and build some rapport with him hehe (shy monkey emoji). When the bowl came, our disappointment was immeasurable for a few reasons: 1) This portion size is TINY. I would have had no issue if it was a $10 bowl, but for $18?!?!?!?! Well I added an impossible patty so it came out to $21, but thank god I did. I blew right through this thing and felt like I had just eaten a pack of almonds and some dried seaweed. 2) This bowl was ALL Quinoa, with a small handful of sweet potatoes and arugula. "They should call this the Quinoa bowl" the Art & Image Director said. "The Quinoa bowl for ants..." I respond with, hoping to get a laugh. It worked. WE UP! 3) The avocado was HARD af, just so uncomfortable to bite through. When the Art and Image Director asked if that was normal, the server said "they are just not ripe." Honestly I never would have mentioned this in a review because I understand some food is just seasonal, BUT he literally had a shirt on that said "Eat All the Avocados." I just thought that was way too ironic to not mention here ahahahahaha. All in all, I acknowledge that the food quality here is fantastic, but the portion size for the price is criminal. Yelp
I was disappointed by my breakfast at The Butcher's Daughter. The vibe is quite nice but it's not easy to get your own table for a private conversation. We did meet some nice people who sat at the long table with us, so I guess I shouldn't complain. The avocado toast sandwich with an egg on top was just OK. There was nothing special about it, no distinctive flavor, spicing or texture. As other reviewers have mentioned, the price is certainly pretty high for the amount of food that you receive. There's nothing specifically wrong with this place, but I didn't find anything special.

Nitika G.

Yelp
Great vegetarian place with indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoyed the pineapple juice! Quick service. Food: Waffle had a really rich fruity sauce. It was crunch and delicious. The sandwich was average.

Yelp
My friend and I had a reservation for The Butcher's Daughter on a Saturday at 10:45am. I would highly recommend getting a reservation because the space is small and poppin' at this time. When we left around noon, it had slowed down. We also sat outdoors, so thankfully it was not scorching hot. I got the country breakfast ($18), and my friend got the loaded banana bread ($13) and a mango lassi ($12). The food here is significantly overpriced and leaves much to be desired. I have no problem paying $18 for bougie breakfast, but it better be insta-worthy and tasty. For a place that seems to market as healthy, my breakfast entrée looked very bland and lacked any pops of color. Potatoes lacked seasoning, toast lacked flavor, the egg lacked seasoning, and the impossible sausage had a nice flavor but was dry. My friend said the mango lassi was okay, but $12 is wayyyy overpriced to me. My friend enjoyed the banana bread but the caramelization on the banana was not good. My friend remarked that it tasted funny, so I tried it. The ashy burnt aftertaste was AWFUL. Service here was a bit slow, but there was a check-back. Overall, if you are in a pinch and want to have bougie brunch, this place is fine, but in no way should you go out of your way for it.

Yelp
Finally made it here. Service was slow despite being fairly empty on a weekday afternoon. They were having some sort of meeting among the staff & there were not a lot f customers. The Shitake Mushroom appetizer was amazing. Loved that sauce. I was so excited about the burger to come. But as so often happens with vegetarian fare in an effort to incorporate vegetables, etc.: it all becomes kind of a burger of mush. Disappointing. But lovely place, great ambiance & I loved that app!!!

Namratha P.

Yelp
Loved going to Butcher's Daughter for dinner! We got the Glass Noodles and Gochugaru Tofu and Eggplant Curry. The Eggplant Curry was amazing and one of the best curries I've tried! It was the right portion size too. The Glass Noodles were good but could've been more flavorful. It has a very cozy vibe and I can see this place being great for brunch as well! I would love to try the other dishes at this place and love to know that I don't have to worry about whether a dish is vegan.

Amanda B.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for vegan options and decided to try Butcher's Daughter. They had a vegan country breakfast option that we were eager to sample - although it was expensive at about $20 each ($23 each with the tofu scramble instead of eggs). It came with the scramble, potatoes, toast, a half tomato, and a vegan sausage round. And it tasted fine, but nothing special to justify the price. But they brought nothing to put on the toast - so I asked for some margarine or jam. They gave me some vegan butter and actually charged us $2 for it (see receipt)! Service was okay, but could be more attentive. At one point all three servers were gathered at the bar talking to the cook while we were trying to get someone's attention. They were also pushing their expensive juices (this place is a juice bar) - thanks but I'll skip the $11 plain orange juice. The inside seating is mostly little bar stools that I found awkward to sit on. Luckily there us one table that had regular chairs. It was fine for a single meal but we won't go back - there are plenty of other options for vegan food, and these prices seemed too high even for NYC.

Yelp
I can't believe how downhill this place continues to go... Absolutely needs to step up the service. We waited so long to be seated at an empty restaurant and just stood there while a bartender saw us, the waitress saw us, and just wow it was so weird and embarrassing just standing in the doorway making eye contact with the staff while literally everyone working refused to simply walk over to greet or seat us. We almost left. That being said we noticed TWO OTHER GROUPS walk up, wait a few minutes to be noticed by staff that just pretended to not see, and then the potential customers literally just walked away. Absolutely crazy at a place that is obviously not busy at all, with plenty of table space. Our waitress was not knowledgeable and subpar. Was the only waitress working but there were like 2 other tables sat so could tell she was not busy. Also - food was awful. So bad. Overpriced as heck , small portions, just wow every bad thing a restaurant can be. ONLY REDEEMING QUALITY IS IT LOOKS CUTE FOR INSTA! do not go here- I literally gave it a bad review before for such bad & inattentive service, and decided to come back to give it ANOTHER chance months later and wow this place is still directly in the bin. Don't come here such a waste, will be ignored, and your server will be unknowledgable, inattentive, and want you to leave. HORRID SPOT!

Marisa M.

Yelp
Great coffee, food is decent. I really like their Mediterranean breakfast bowl and chai latte.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance in the restaurant with great decor. Food was phenomenal, with great vegetarian and vegan options that doesn't skimp on the flavor. Had the Mykonos breakfast and would definitely order that again! Great place to eat with friends with super friendly staff. Also great options for drinks and dessert!

Symone S.

Yelp
Customer service is subpar. The restaurant is half full, I arrived before my girl friend & was told I still have to wait to be seated. Wait for what? Outside? When you're half full? Barely? Pfff, if it wasn't for my friend wanting to come here, I would have left.

Pantelis C.

Yelp
40 minutes waiting. We had to remind them and they don't know what we ordered. .............

Elizabeth X.

Yelp
Came in as a meal out that was "healthier". Portions are lighter, more fresh ingredients. Service is kind but a bit slow. It was kind of crowded and we came late afternoon on a weekend. Sat at the communal table, it was bit loud. The rosemary aioli and spicy aiolis were good!

Joe V.

Yelp
Amazing food and service - We enjoyed the ricotta toast , The best breakfast sandwich, and a the butcher's bowl. Highly recommend and would come back again !! PS - only recommendation/ no coffee refills / get a to go cup / regular size.

Bethany L.

Yelp
This was the second location I've been to - and it did not disappoint. Recently, a friend and I were in town and were able to snag a last minute reservation - which we are glad we did, as they were not seating walk-ins when we arrived. Because we can never decide, we choose to share a few items: the butcher's bowl, the pastry spread, and the BLAT. The butcher's bowl was honestly the perfect, light and healthy way to start the day. And, since my friend is vegan, I got the poached egg on the side to mix into my helping. The BLAT was delicious and fresh. And the pastry spread was to die for - we split the chai cake (fine), the croissant (YUM), and the tomato scallion scone (honestly, one of the best things that has ever graced my lips). We also both opted for the walnut lattes and added espresso (thought that was a bit strange that the latte didn't just come with it, but whatever)! Either way, service was good, drinks were delicious, and food was top notch! Just be sure to make reservations because, as I mentioned, indoor seating is limited - but they also have outdoor seating on the sidewalk and in the street.

Sejal M.

Yelp
Cute little brunch spot in Nolita! My friend and I walked downtown over the weekend and finally decided to try this place. We were seated very quickly (2pm on a Saturday), food and service was also super quick. We both really enjoyed our açaí bowl and egg sandwich. It was nothing out of the ordinary but definitely still good! Worth a try if you haven't been here already!

Mary Beth B.

Yelp
This is an adorable neighborhood space but the service is SLOW. We were there off lunch hours - so I think the staff was down to one. Here is what we had: + Spring Pea Hummus +Butchers Bowl +Spicy Kale Ceasar All three were good - the Hummus being the stand-out. Both bowls could have used a little extra love in the form of 1, seasoning and 2, seasoning (aka salt). We sat outside and in that neighborhood, you could get high from the air!

Kuki T.

Yelp
I've tried the Butcher's Daughter's California location in Venice before and loved it, so I thought I'd give New York's Nolita location a chance. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as good. My friend and I went on a Saturday afternoon and were seated outdoors in the shade. We ordered the Spicy Kale Caesar Salad and Country Breakfast -- both of which were just okay, but not worth the price tag. We also ordered iced lattes, which came out long after our meal. Maybe I thought it was better a few years ago when vegan dishes were more few & far between, but with how many establishments offer delicious vegan meals nowadays, you can likely get something comparable or even better elsewhere.

Brianna B.

Yelp
The Butcher's Daughter has a few locations in NYC and CA (as I understand) and focuses on a plant-based menu-which definitely applaud! I like their variety of options on the menu, the food itself was good but nothing too amazing write home about. We enjoyed their mimosas, but not the Sangria (very bland). I really loved the Vegan Cheese Platter which was beautifully plated and tasty. I also liked the BD Royal Burger, but again it was nothing unique (just a standard Impossible Burger, but nonetheless tasty). We also ordered the Orecchiette Pasta dish, which was what I was most excited for but was most let down by: it came out cold and the pasta itself, aside from the yummy plant-based sausage, severely lacked flavor. I also had to dock another star for the service. We had one waitress who was really sweet, but the other waitress was quite rude and passive aggressive-especially as she abruptly plopped our second mimosa on the table and left without a word. This same waitress also failed to give us the correct happy hour price for one of our drinks-luckily nice waitress was able to correct the transaction.

Nunu B.

Yelp
Came in on a weekday afternoon, the restaurant had very few customers. Nobody was in line except us. But still we've waited for the host to greet us for good 3 minutes as it's required by the restaurant. We ordered a smoothie to go. Instead of offering us to sit and wait, the host told us to stand by the host counter and the drink would be out. Another 5-10 minutes passed, finally drink came. Mango Lassi - I did taste mango. But that's it. It wasn't citrus or sweet. It was just plain mango slush. For $12, I rather get something else. Vibe is all right. Not very welcoming to me.

Alesa W.

Yelp
Got dinner to go on a weekday and food was ready within 10 minutes. The little gem salad and the dressing was good. The quesadilla was lackluster but the dipping sauce that came with it was good.

Sara W.

Yelp
Delicious food, fast service. The juice flight was perfect for sharing yet after tasting them I didn't want to share, I wanted to down them all! Should have taken an extra Red one to go! Great outdoor seating (mostly in the morning shade) I would go for the cardamom rose latte every day, but this is NYC and I am here only 3 days! Highly recommend Egg Sandwich and BLAT (plant based Bacon was great!) Found the juices 01-Red, 03-Yellow, 04-Green & 06 Water flower. 1&4 were the best, 6 super refreshing and 3 was just pineapple, just that pineapple takes over everything.

Yelp
Love the amount of vegan option available, but the food was mediocre and price was high! Came here with a friend for late brunch and was seated in their outdoor dining area. Super nice area, perfectly shaded at that time of day, but I'd you're seated closer to the street it gets quite hot with sun beating down on you. The service was fast and efficient, while also being hospitable. I ordered the carrot lox and the specialty coffee, both were underwhelming. The coffee barely tasted like rose or cardamom and the carrot lox was boring, it was just shredded carrot on a, not so good, bagel and vegan cream cheese and the total of the both was nearly $25! I've had similar carrot lox at other brunch spot who've done amazing, they'll season the carrot and give a more hearty NY style bagel. My friend order one of their smoothies and the banana bread. The banana bread looked delicious (would recommend that over the lox). Overall, this is a mediocre brunch spot. Love the vegan and vegetarian friendly options, but the price is ridiculous and the food just isn't up to par with other NYC brunch options. Skip: the carrot lox Must get: the Banana bread The damage: for 1 smoothie, 1 iced coffee, carrot lox, and the banana bread, or total was $48.50

Yelp
I popped in here for a quick breakfast on a business trip before a full day of meetings. I am so glad I did!! Delicious food, great hot beverages and friendly staff. I'd highly recommend. The space isn't huge, but nice and intimate. I'd love to come back on a weekend for brunch--I've heard great things from friends.

Yelp
We didn't want to let a moment of being in NYC go to waste so we stopped here for breakfast before we had to leave for the airport. It was a surprisingly lovely day in winter so the patio was open in the morning but it was non-heated. We opted to dine inside just in case since we had our hearts set on ordering cold beverages. We were really hoping for a little health boost before our flight (planes can be yucky) so we attempted to order some elixir shots The Iced Vitality is in the shot section but it's a little confusing because this one is a full sized drink even though its in this section . It's literally a Liquid Vitality shot with a ton more sparkling water and mint to make it fill an entire glass. It was tasty but I was looking for a concentrated shot. I wound up also getting a Liquid Vitality so I could cheers my coworker! The ginger in it is very potent and if you're not a fan it could be overpowering. The main I had was the crab cake benedict which is cleverly made from jackfruit to emulate that flake apart crab meat. If this is your intro to vegetarian food, it's a good one! It still has all the other components of your regular benedict with just a small twist. One thing that I did notice was that the inside of the restaurant is very cleverly decorated. There are a lot of hanging meat hooks and other things you'd find at a butchers but they're all hanging plants! A cute way of representing the the vegetarian vibe of the place.

Yelp
Yellow makes everyone happy. Even more so when the place you're walking into is yellow and it's The Butcher's Daughter. Made same day reservations for brunch and have no idea how we got in, but we did! We were too hungry to wait for our actual reservation so we got there about 45 minutes earlier. Nothing was available but they did have seats at the bar and that worked just great. It was a snowy Sunday in NYC. Snow was just so beautiful and perfect. The big windows letting the light in while you watched the little flakes make their way down. Somehow you're in a room full of warmth, plants and life. The whole ambiance here is IT. Can we skip to the FOOD part? Yes. The FOOD. Where do I even start? Because I was on this gluten detox thing I can't believe I came to the right place. Side note, we are also vegetarian so double win. Ok. I ordered the Butcher's Pancakes. Mind you...I'm not really a pancake person. I love waffles. However.... THESE PANCAKES. I mean, these RICE FLOUR pancakes are the best I've ever had. They are absolute perfection and come drizzled with an amazing coconut drizzle. You almost could skip the syrup but it's great for dunking. I mean, this was just SOOO good!!! Hubby ordered the Country Breakfast. Impossible sausage, tofu scramble, potatoes..everything was amazing. Could NOT believe that impossible sausage, it definitely tasted homemade and the tofu eggs were out of this world. So many flavors packed into one dish! Thank you Butcher's Daughter for having us. Staff was amazing, food was memorable, experience was unforgettable. Great quaint little yellow happy place with planty things and gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, carnivore, options. Just a happy place for everyone!!!

Yelp
The vegan breakfast is gone... that's the reason we go here but not anymore. Why take it off the menu? Very disappointed. We came from California a year ago and it was great... a year later and it's all eggs and buttermilk biscuits... ah well moving on

Yelp
I've had this on my list for so long and finally got to try it out when I was going to brunch with a vegan friend. There were only two other tables of guest when I went in so I would say it was fairly slow but the service was even slower. I'm not sure if someone was training but she failed to mention all of the items they were out of prior to us ordering which was a little disappointing. However we left extremely happy and with super full bellies. The food was allll sooo delicious, the only thing we didn't like was the crab cake because we don't love curry flavors but that's just specific to us I'm sure they are good. The Cacio E pepe cauliflower & pad Thai were our absolute favorites and I'm still craving it today. I will absolutely be back 1,000 times.

Yelp
Came here for Saturday brunch. We were seated within five minutes and our server was very friendly. We had The Best egg sandwiches and they were absolutely delicious. The only thing that would've made them better was if the chef they could smear the avocado and the sauce all over the croissant rather than putting one dollop in the middle. That way you get an even bite with all the flavors.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday with a friend without reservation. Not a big place inside. Only a few tables. However, we didn't need to wait long. We got a table by the window. The decor inside is very cute. The ambience is nice. Staff is friendly. I saw a lot of people just sitting there alone, reading a book or playing with their computers. The spicy kale Caesar salad is surprisingly good to me. I enjoy every bite of it. My friend wasn't very pleased with her dish. She got the butcher's bowl. So I took one point off because of her dish.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place forever and finally got around to it. Really delicious vegetarian brunch menu with many vegan and gluten free options. Plenty of outdoor table seating, inside is mostly barstools at the windows or counter. Lots of juices, smoothies, teas and lattes to choose from. I enjoyed that they have a juice flight option (4 4oz juices for $12). The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed but they were very nice and the food and drinks came out quickly. My friend said her little gem salad was tasty and she loved the dressing. I had the butchers bowl which was yummy and very filling. The girl next to us gave the kale caesar salad rave reviews as well. The prices for brunch are high-ish (average dish was $17) but I thought it was well worth it. I'd love to come back and give dinner a try!

Yelp
I could probably give 3.5 stars but since Yelp only does whole stars, I think 3 is fair. The Butcher's Daughter has been on my radar for a while as a New York City area vegan and I was excited to go and try their breakfast. I got the weekend waffles, which were tasty enough but a little overpriced for what they were. The real bummer though was the service. Our server brought us a smoothie we didn't order, overcharged my partner for her coffee, and didn't ring up the side of bacon I ordered and never checked back in on us after dropping off the food so I didn't really have a chance to say anything. All of those things on their own normally don't illicit much of a response from me but together it just made for a bummer of an experience. It was a cute place and I appreciate anywhere that has solid vegan options, but I don't see myself coming back.

Yelp
I feel like this is a standard/good option for those with dietary restrictions. I don't and I still like the food! I've mostly dined here for brunch and typically stick with the BLAT or the avocado toast. The portions are not huge, but they do the job. On the weekends they do normally have a wait, so try to get there early as alot of people like to squeeze into their outdoor benches. A nice spot in NOLITA if you're looking for a light lunch. 4/5

Yelp
Butcher's Daughter is like the unfussy, healthy sister restaurant to your top-revered brunch spot in the city that always has a wait and never seems to have a reservation. Butcher's Daughter has openings way more often than other-said-brunch-spot, has much less of a wait time, and has really solid, healthy dishes that will leave you planning your next visit back right after you leave. This has actually become my go-to brunch spot because it's just so casual, chill, and consistently good. Some of my menu faves are the Best Egg Sandwich, Butchers Bowl, and banana bread. The mushroom squash carbonara is solid (honestly how is it vegan?!), but the sauce was a little too runny for my tastes. I also recommend not ordering the carbonara if you're sitting outside on a cold day and aren't a fast eater, or it'll get cold pretty quick. Still recommend the dish, just plan accordingly. The burger also looks really good, I just haven't given in and ordered it yet. The seating at this location is good enough. I've only sat outdoors since Covid and there's a decent offering of tables but you're on the sidewalk, so not ideal in super cold or rainy weather. They have heaters but it didn't do much my last visit. They also have more outdoor seating around the corner in little enclosed casitas, which is a great option if it's not the best weather. Love this spot and love that there are multiple locations!!

Yelp
We'd been to the Williamsburg Butcher's Daughter before, and had an amazing experience. We came to this location and it was fantastic too! Can't say a bad word about our experience. Staff were super attentive and helpful, food was delicious, and ambiance was exactly what we needed. Thank you team!

Yelp
I usually walk by this spot a lot since it's always so crowded on a corner. I tried once to get a table but was pretty much ignored by the hostess. Second attempt worked on another occasion where I came super early and got a seat outside. The sangria was just meh. I wouldn't get again. I got the butchers bowl which surprisingly was very filling and pretty good. My friend got the pancakes and enjoyed it. The menu is heavily vegan based but I didn't have a problem choosing something from the menu. Prices were a little on the pricier side.
