Awesome neighborhood place. Obviously if you're coming this far out into the Richmond, don't expect a classy joint. We keep it divey out here! The bartenders are always super nice and down to earth. Their fries are AMAZING. All the other food I've had here is great as well, though I usually just come for the beer, ping pong, pool table, shuffleboard table... no shortage of fun times.

I think I'd be better able to remember their food quality or variety of drinks if the music wasn't blasting in our ears the entire time. I'm not exaggerating when I say that they were bumping it at club volume. The crab cakes, calamari and cheese sticks were all really good. I wasn't a fan of the shepherd's pie but I am pretty particular with it so I don't think it's the restaurant. My friend had the mac and cheese and said it was great

I went here on St. Patty's Day and found there to be one waitress/bartender running the show. The pork chop was great but the place didn't feel very clean. There was a weird area next to us where the fly's were bad. They were just circling around this certain area. I wouldn't go back.

We were introduced to this place by a co-worker when a planned after work game of bowling failed at Presidio Bowl. Our first time here, I was starving because I was coming from the East Bay to meet up with everyone and they were able to grab some bites at the pre-game place. We were informed they just let the cook go and the replacement person wouldn't be there for another hour and it would be a limited menu. We were all surprised how decent the food was when we finally got to order. My 2nd time here for another after work get together. I got the double pork chops $20.00. First of all, it wasn't a double, but a single. It was well seasoned, tender, and moist. The side of grilled then fried corn was ok, it needed some seasoning, which I added some hot sauce, but there was no salt on the table. I snagged a bite of someone's fish and chips, and it was good, nice and flaky, good batter. This is always a fun place for us to hang out because we can chat and laugh for hours. They have a pool table, but when the room is full (which happens after pm), there's not enough room to play without hitting someone in the head. They have a ping pong table out back, which my co-workers had a blast playing while the rest of us lazy bums chilled and drank our beers. The servers are friendly, but since here's only two of them, you do have to do a bit of waiting to order sometimes. Its a good neighborhood bar.

Delicious Gyudon and Curry Rice. At least in the past when we dined. Located in the Outer Richmond across the street from Lincoln Park. This bar used to serve some delicious American and Japanese food and they can also make you a good Martini. Not sure if things changed as I'm reading they are now in partnership with next door restaurant which serves Vietnamese food. They also have an outdoor back patio where it's dog friendly. Perfect for brunch or dinner. Service warm and friendly.

Please note The Links hours do not match in here, their website and on Google. Call to be sure because you can book a 12pm reservation even though they don't open til 4:30pm. It's incredibly confusing and they need to correct it on all platforms. Got there soon as they were supposed to be opened but they weren't open yet. Waited for someone to finally open the door. They were nice and let my dog sit inside so bonus points there. We were so excited about the menu but they told me there's some sort of huge change and that also meant the menu completely changed so everything I wanted was not available. We ordered the banh ceo and the links and a mojito. Waiter said there's no bartender to make the mojito so we traded him and said he should google it and just try to make it for us and he obliged! Major points there. The mojito was great was t except it could have been stronger so we just asked for a little more rum which he added. The banh xeo is the worst I've had in my life and I'm Vietnamese. Not that it was bad but it's not what an authentic banh xeo is and it was bland. The links was incredibly oily I had to dab a napkin on it before eating it. Overall, the new menu is not good enough for me to come back. However, the service is very kind and I liked the waiter a lot. If they changed their menu back I might come back but otherwise, it's a pass for me.

They now have a partnership with the restaurant next door, where you can order the same food for about $6 less without the wait. I got the raw beef salad, lemonade and grilled beef sausages and it was delicious.

Sooo happy to have found this spot! They have udons and curry, which I've been looking for since I got back from Korea and Japan. We got their Osaka fries which was delicious, was shocked how crispy the fries were the whole time even with sauce and stuff on top. Also got their hamachi roll and loved it. Someone mentioned Negroni that week to me so I was craving one and the owner was kind enough to make us one. He put a special twist to it which made it so good! Didn't expect to have such a bomb Negroni at a sushi spot but glad I asked:)

Solid burgers, fries, and sake. Good service during quiet hours (since it's kind of hard to be inattentive if you're maybe one of three parties there), and ample seating options. Nothing outstanding or impressive though, but no complaints either.

Came here on Saturday night only 1 bartender in house. I want to get loco moco but now the kitchen is closed. Food options are partnership with the restaurant next door, An Chi (Vietnamese restaurant) where you can order the same food and no wait. Good food and cocktail options. If you are looking Japanese food sorry this is not the one.

Visiting friends, we decided to get some dinner. They brought us to a Japanese bar and restaurant near their house. It was the location of the former Tee Off Bar. This bar restaurant serves sushi, udon, appetizers, skewers, plates, and Japanese inspired sandwiches. They had a private party and the back tables and patio were reserved, so we sat at one of the bar tables in the bar area. After getting our drinks, we placed our orders. Curry Loco Moco - with a Japanese style burger patty topped with a sunny side egg with a Japanese curry sauce over a bed of rice. I never had a curry loco moco and this was delicious. Loco Moco - friend had this and it came with a hayashi sauce instead of curry sauce. Instead of the typical mushroom style gravy, my friend said this gravy was good. Rolls ordered were: 49er Roll, Negihama Roll. Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll. The rolls were well made and the fish was fresh and thick-sliced. Favorites were the Dragon roll with the tasty unagi and the Dragon roll with nicely slices of fish with real crab in the middle. The food here was delicious for this neighbor spot. A neighborhood gem. Service was good, given that a private party was there. So it was a little crowded in the restaurant and noisy at times. We will be back and hopefully sit in a table in the dining area.

Our frequent Happy Hour joint! This Izakaya offers great service, and fun casual atmosphere! For those sports fans, few tubes to watch your favorite team(s). Enjoy their back patio on warmer days. Thank you Maria always! A great host, and mixologist! She makes excellent cocktails! Most notable, for her killer Old Fashioned with a punch. Start with an Old Fashioned, followed by a Paloma, then ease into Sake, pair it with fresh sashimi/nigiri/maki. Don't forget the karage, GIANT shrimp/fish tacos, Osaka fries, wings, and their delicious Loco Moco.

Food is fantastic! I would recommend the tonkatsu FOR SURE! Light breading! It's incredibly delicious! The curry, top notch. It's in a quiet and secluded area of sf! When we went, there was only 1 other table seated. It's a sweet little joint to enjoy a little Hawaiian, Japanese fusion type of meal. I got to try their loco moco! The patty is THICCCC! Ya know ya boys got a thiccccc one too but this patty was juicy and tender! I must say, it brought me back to Hawaii when all I had was loco moco almost every other day. You got a nice sunny side up egg along with carrots that helps you realize, maybe this meal ain't so unhealthy? The refreshing sensation of loco moco sauce drizzling down my throat as my tongue ripples with enjoyment. The deep richness of the meat that tenderizes my teeth so that after I lick my teeth, I still feel like I've been sensationalized by my food. I say come here! Hit this spot up! Give it some love babyyyyy

Stopped in to the place for drinks while in the area . Staff very nice , friendly , and good selection of cocktails. We enjoyed our drinks and visited twice as the drinks were absolutely delicious.

Friday night dinner out. Nice staff, everything was served fresh and hot. Yay! We got: - Fish Taco - Hand Rolls - French Fries - Takoyaki - Hayashi Rice - Links Burger Each dish was on point!

I'm starting off by saying I have never had a lobster tail roll and this was a great first experience at Izakaya Links! Their lobster tail roll are flavorful and fresh I'm super satisfied with this roll & Asahi beers! Also, Osaka fries and Tatsuta Karaage are my favorite too Would definitely recommend here if you are looking for hidden gem ロブスターロールと言うのを初めて試したのですが、尻尾丸々使ってるのを見てビックリしました普段食べるロブスターどおりにバターソースであえてあり、そこからスパイシーソースやわさび醤油など味変しながら食べれるので一皿なのにすごく満たされました ベイエリアでお寿司のリピートはあまり考えた事ないのですが、これはまた自分のご褒美に頼む事になりそうです

I really enjoyed hopping into the restaurant on an early Friday night and having an open spot at the bar! The servers are all really nice and attentive as other reviewers have said. The server said the restaurant is moving away from sushi/ nigiri and starting to specialize in izakaya skewers and bbq which is exciting so I asked for the servers reccomendation on a few items. He recommended the chicken thigh and chicken katsu curry as some popular dishes! Both were super flavorful and cooked really well. I still wanted to try a roll and I'm a sucker for spicy sauces so I got the dynamite roll, a nice tempuraed spicy tuna roll served on a beautiful platter! I'm really impressed by the atmosphere of the restaurant, casual for a date night and easily fit a birthday party that arrived at the end of my dinner~ Definitely ready to bring a date to the patio I have heard great things about

Good service they stayed open for us even though it was late and near closing time. Items were standard sf price. The fish was pretty good and fresh and was quite filling.

My family came in for mother's day lunch out on their back patio. Their outdoor space was great, lots of seating and heat lamps. Service was friendly and attentive, our waitress was kind enough to bring us extra taco shells for the poke and pickled ginger. Between the 10 of us we ordered: Hayashi fries (fries covered with cheese and gravy) Osaka fries (takoyaki toppings) Takoyaki Chicken karrage Spider roll (soft shell crab) Lion king roll (baked salmon) Pg&e roll (fried fish roll) Loco moco (hayashi sauce) Curry loco moco Hayashi rice Tuna donburi Shrimp burger Tonkatsu curry Everything kinda had the same sauce, either the Hayashi (dark brown sauce with carrots, onions, and beef chunks) or curry (carrots, onions, and chicken). My mom thought all the sauces were a little too salty and the Hayashi rice I ordered was all carrots, I found only one piece of meat. When the poki donburi came out we were a little confused, it was not what we expected at all. Was more like tuna tartare and you had to assemble it yourself. The sushi in my opinion was just ok, a little pricey for what you get. The spider roll was $15 and only came with 4 pieces. I thought the best dish was the tonkatsu curry, the tonkatsu pieces were huge and very tender.

Spacious, clean, and overall a nice atmosphere. The food here is great, and I love that they do pitchers of beer. They have a great bar and apparently a great patio space in the back. The service was solid and friendly. The bathroom was clean. I really have nothing negative to say!

Seems like a lot of growing pains... Good food, cocktails were alright. Unexpected menu because they used to serve sushi here and everything online suggests they still do. But the service really soured the whole experience. The new menu was not descriptive at all and when asked for clarification the wait staff admitted they didn't know what it was either. The shrimp and beef salad we ordered did not have any beef(?). They seemed understaffed which is forgivable, one person working bar and tables, but we were only tended to once after being sat, no check in's for 90 minutes except to bring us our order, until we were asked to leave at closing at 10pm (which is listed as 12 pm online btw) even though it seemed very slow for Friday night

Friendly staff, great food and spacious back patio! Always my go-to for loco moco! Guy working on 2/18/2024 evening was running front of house solo and was still so kind and attentive despite other guests being rude and impatient.

This restaurant was closed and it took our reservation. Annoying to make an effort to make it on time.

The sushi was so good. The fish tasted fresh and the 49er roll was refreshing. My only wish was that there was more. It took awhile to be made as well. The service was super friendly though. The ambiance of the restaurant was modern - with a bar and tvs near the door and a Japanese mural on the walls. The restrooms were clean. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

We didn't have food, but it looked incredible. But the drinks!! Too easy going down. Time of the Essence was an especial favorite, with a burnt sprig of thyme and pineapple and gin...yum! The smoked maple old fashioned was delicious and well-balanced. Every cocktail was tasty and refreshing, and while sitting at the bar as a group, the bartender so kindly offered us small pours of a mint cocktail he'd made. At 5 pm on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy, but it should've been!! The only problem is that parking in the area is a true pain. Worth it, though!

The sushi here is immaculate! I have been here four times so far and I will come back many more after that ! But the fish here is so fresh. It's so buttery it melts in your mouth. Everything here is so good. Also there corn butter is a very delicious option as well!!

Nice spacious place for drinks at the Richmond district. I would definitely come back for food. Atmosphere 5/5: They had three TVs going on and were airing the game. If you watch sport games and want a nice crowd to watch it with this would be the place. Drinks 5/5: My mojito is perfect, there are many other places that mess up my mojito but they're doing something right here, they definitely don't skimp on the booze. The French martini is a little too strong for my tasting but my friend likes it and it does have a unique after taste to it a good aftertaste. Service 5/5: The staff is very nice. The owner Mark was very nice and welcoming and gave us nice recommendations. It was a nice place to sit and have a chat at while watching the game.

Not sure how this place has such high ratings. Kept it as 3 stars as the food isn't great but also not terrible and there were plenty of seats, and the place was clean. It was pretty quiet and slow in business with many open tables on a Sat night as the restaurant next door was bustling with a wait line. There must be a following to keep them in business. The restaurant doesn't have much of a sushi selection though labeled as a sushi restaurant. It got me real worried that they don't serve nigiri and have more cooked options on the sushi menu than raw. Tried the Alaskan (prayed hard that we don't get sick from it), unagi, California, and cucumber avocado rolls--all were overpriced for the basic quality. The izakaya selections aren't the greatest either- just the usual items (they couldn't get the count right and we had to clarify with them when they came out with the wrong count. Then there's a slew of a lot of other menu choices that doesn't help the restaurant identify itself as a sushi or izakaya or maybe Hawaiian/Japanese restaurant. Tried the shrimp and vege tempura, which was overbattered and soggy on one side, which is a shame especially with a $19 price tag on it. Also tried the fried chicken skin--flavorful (a little too flavorful) and crispy on the outside but chewy. We were excited we made it to Happy Hour and ordered hot sake for a chilly night. The waiters didn't really know the details of the happy hour deals and had to come back several times to answer our questions. Most places come by to remind you that happy hour specials are nearing its end time. The waiters did not (they weren't busy as there was only one other table of 2). We still ordered another sake though there's no discount, but notice to others that you need to keep your own timer. I can see why there's no wait, but for the sake of the business, hope their followers continue coming back. Maybe limit the menu and focus on fewer items and making it better vs. offering more mediocre items? And advertise the happy hour specials and time--supposing more money is made off of alcohol, but it doesn't help when people don't know. Everybody likes a deal.

The outdoor garden area is so nice and the team there is very accomodating to guests with dogs. We had 2 very large dogs and they didn't even bat an eyelash. They even brought them water bowls! Service was attentive and the food was tasty! We loved the tuna donburi and the loco moco. I wish their brunch menu had more options but overall a great addition to the neighborhood.

Omg they have the best Japanese curry. My sister and i both had katsu curry chicken, it was so yummy . There was meat and carrots in the curry. I had it on the side so I could dip my katsu . The egg was over cooked just a bit so it wasn't running. My husband got the curry loco moco. He said it was the best outside of Hawaii. The patty was nice and thick . Service was great and it was clean and comfy inside. You need to try the tatsuta karate for appetizer, sorry ate it all. It was tasty not dry and the dipping sauce was yummy too.. Tempura was yummy not oily and crispy. We will be back when visiting SF again.

This is my new favorite Japanese fusion restaurant! They have great variety menu and a full bar. The restaurant has an atmosphere of cozy traditional Japanese restaurant yet it is spacious and perfect for large group party. For sushi we had Alaska Roll, Dynamite Roll, Lion King Roll, and Rock n Roll. All are delicious. You can't pick a wrong sushi roll here. I strongly recommend getting the Osaka Fries with their house sauce and bonito flakes on it. Yum! The chicken Katsu was amazing too. The curry was full of flavor and chicken Katsu perfectly fried!

Very tasty food and good service. Its a hidden gem kind of place. Not super busy but such a fun experience! We had a little mix up in ordering but it turned out ok since all the food was great! Will def come again. The place looks super cute too with comfy seating.

4.5 STARS COVID-19 OUTDOOR DINING I seriously admire the patience and endurance that people have waiting 2-3+ hours at a new Japanese Curry Restaurant in The Marina. If you're like me and have patience of a minute man but craving deliciously satisfying Japanese curry in the city and to wash it down with a STIFF cocktail, Links Bar & Grill has your back with no crazy long line or wait. Formerly Tee Off Bar (featured on Fieri's DDD), Links Bar & Grill is an under-the-radar restaurant & bar serving American and Japanese fare. During COVID, Links Bar & Grill is open for takeout, delivery (3rd party apps), and outdoor dining. They have a great backyard patio completely off the streets which is ideal during the pandemic. Dog-friendly! I usually don't trek far out to Outer Richmond but I was looking for a quiet and safe place for outdoor dining and Links fit the bill. And, we unexpectedly met TT's twin (Hi, Rocky!) at the park across the street so it was a win. C O V I D - 1 9 S A F E T Y P R E C A U T I O N S * Staff wore masks properly. * Nice outdoor patio with about 10 tables spaced out 6-10 feet. There's some coverings but it's mainly open air with plenty of air flow. Heat lamps available. * Hand sanitizer available in multiple places. Room for Improvement: Put up signs reminding customers to wear a mask when moving around the restaurant/not seated at their table. The hamburger patty was thick and juicy with a seared crust. * Tonkatsu Curry w/ sunny side up egg ($15) Not going to lie, name alone of this place, I didn't have high expectations but was impressed with the curry - savory, flavorful, and mildy spicy with a kiss of sweetness. The tonkatsu cutlet was perfectly crunchy, tender, and moist. The rice was properly sticky with a nice, firm bite. The fukujinzuke pickles completed and balanced the dish with its sweet tanginess. My only regret is not ordering a side of the hayashi sauce to eat the rest of the rice with. I washed everything down with several Hendricks cocktails ($11): https://bit.ly/37jOpoO. Very reasonable prices for booze. S E R V I C E Polite. Food took about 20 minutes. They're understaffed with only one FOH person so don't be shy about getting up and going to the bar to order more food/drinks. A M B I A N C E The owners did a great job updating the divey Tee Off space. It's clean and modern with plenty of TVs. There's two TVs in the patio. My favorite curry in the bay is Hyuga and Demiya but Links Bar & Grill's curry satisfied my cravings and then some. We were one of two tables there so Links could certainly use some love. If you're in the city and looking for deliciously satisfying Japanese curry and/or a safe outdoor patio for dining, give this under-the-radar place a try!

It was our first time here and we loved it! This is a great place to eat after spending the day at the Legion of Honor. The food is excellent, the staff is superb, and the chef creates wonderful dishes. We had the Tatsuta Karaage, the Shishito Peppers, and Unagi Nigiri. Each dish was prepared perfectly. I was quite impressed with the Tatsuta Karaage because it was delicious, delicately breaded, seasoned, and cooked, and enough to fill up both of us. There were lots of dishes available and I'm sure that every one of them would have been perfect. We are definitely going to return and try others out. I wish I lived nearby, as I would go there at least once a week to try everything! We also sat on the back patio and the atmosphere was spot-on. I can't wait until we return. This is going to be one of those places we'll go to every time we visit that part of San Francisco.

We came here for Valentines dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great! It felt like the chef was cooking for family. Everything was so carefully prepared and tasted so good!!!

After a fun round of golf at good ol trusty Lincoln Park, there's nothing more satisfying than a post-round meal and brew, and the Links Bar is a great addition the neighborhood. Great news is that you can book a reservation ahead of time or hope on the waitlist using the Yelp app. You'll find many of post-round favorites here. From burgers, fries, wings, tacos, and plate lunches that have a Japanese/Hawaiian flare to them. If you are a fan of loco moco & Japanese curry, you'll be able to get your fix here. Plus a full bar and craft beers to quench your thirst. For my meal, I decided to go with a fish taco and the loco moco curry. Fish taco: First off, BIG PROPS for properly warming the taco tortilla (lightly grilled). No matter how good the filling is, if the tortilla is raw, the taco is no good. Speaking of the fish taco, it's katsu-style fried and is topped with a delicious tartar sauce. For $5, it's tasty, filling, and was a great appetizer to start my meal. Loco Moco Curry: As the fog rolled in, the loco moco curry called my name with a quickness. It's two of my favorite things combined in one dish. It reminded me of how my dad used to cook burgers when I was a kid. Onions mixed into the patty, crispy edges, great seasoning, tasty. My only wish is that the curry had a bit more veggies in it (my friend said the same thing with her chicken katsu) and that the egg was over-easy (for that egg yolk drip of course). With fantasy football in full effect, watching football while grubbin on food is the type of normalcy I can get behind. Links outdoor patio is massive, plenty tables, spaced out, and heat lamps to keep it warm once the fog rolls in. They had one table in the very back that could accommodate 10+ groups. Definitely look forward to trying out more eats from here after my next round at Lincoln!

My friends were in town to visit the new ferris wheel in Golden gate park and had time to grab dinner beforehand. Since not many places were seating a lot of people reservations were needed everywhere. We were able to snag a last minute reservation here and headed over. We were seated in the patio, five of us. There were a few other tables with customers. The patio has a tv so this place has a sports bar feel. The service was ok. There were two people servicing the small patio but felt the amount of attention to each table missed the mark. We had each ordered non alcoholic drinks and water and it took a long time to get those. Since we had to be somewhere we were on a time crunch, our problem not theirs, but it was hard to grab someone for help regarding our order. We were finally able to order and the food didn't take long, luckily. I ordered the Japanese style hamburger steak, and two of my friends ordered katsu dishes. My Japanese style hamburger steak was really good! I'm not too big on gravy sauces so I got this instead, and I was glad I did! I could have easily ate another serving. I recommend this dish so far and will probably try something new next time. Good food, but the service could use a tweak here. I recommend trying them!

What an unfortunate experience I had here. I came in with my friend and we had unbearably slow, cold service. When we were seated, we greeted the waitress but she didn't respond to us. We placed an order for tea and received it fairly quickly. Another couple was seated next to us soon after we placed our food order (two sushi rolls and a fried tofu). We noticed that the fried food and entire meal arrived for this couple; meanwhile, my friend and I waited a total of 40 mins before we decided to leave. We checked in with the staff about our order before we left and they didn't really seem too bothered nor did they offer an apology, especially when I brought up that the entire meal was ordered later and arrived quickly for the couple sitting next to us. As we decided to leave, we offered to pay for the tea, so 1 star for them for not charging this. I was looking forward to trying this place but won't be back. There are other Japanese/Izakaya places in the area that I would much rather take my business.

Delicious food! Had the Curry Loco Moco. BEST EVER loco moco!!! Must have again. And again . Oishii!!!

Delicious food. Quaint place. Good service and cocktails! We ordered the Osaka Fries & the chicken curry plate. The fries were perfectly crisp. The sauce and flavors in combination with the bonito flakes were amazing. The chicken curry plate was a sizable portion, the egg was prepared sunny side up, and the curry sauce - while flavorful - wasn't too salty. The cocktails (an Old Fashioned & a Mezcal Pomelo) were crafted simply yet perfectly. Reasonable prices, quiet location!

Friendly staff, great food, and pretty good drinks. Great brunch spot to try out lots of different small plates.

I had been dying to try The Links out for the past couple of months since I noticed it being open. Finally glad to have gotten to go and am anticipating my next visit next month! The outdoor seating is nicely spaced and open-much better for me than parklets (which I personally am not on-board with...but that is a different story...) The drinks were on-point--important for a bar! The food was all delicious. It did not disappoint! I will admit that I was disappointed to learn that the menu had once had a Brazilian influence and was overhauled "to better match the neighborhood". I would have loved to see and try some of their other dishes! Admittedly, many of the dishes have a panko fried base to them, but they do it so well! And it does align with...BAR. So if you have a problem with that, there are other options but let's just put it put there-the "lite" options will fall in with the appetizers. I am sad I did not order the Brussel sprout chips but I know I'll be back! We were a party of 7 . All enjoyed their food and said they are looking forward to return. I learned that the rumored collab with Oyaji has not yet happened but is planned for next month with limited sushi/sashimi offerings from the former Oyaji owner. I am sad to learn Oyaji closed down but it seems the sushi will somewhat live on in a small way. Last...we were celebrating my mom's 88th Birthday. The outdoor area was perfect and comfortable and the staff was great assisting with the cake storage and serving our little group! Perfect for a small, celebratory gathering during this pandemic surge where we could feel safe! I only wish one of the servers kept his mask over his nose. Could not help but notice that one! Luckily, I don't think we saw that one server again and the other waitstaff/busser knew how to wear his mask appropriately. But all in all, it was a great experience!

Waiter took our order on his phone and forgot my meal. My friend and I both got links burger, his came out and I waited for 20 mins while he ate. Waiter never checked up and finally I had to get up and ask where my food was. Unprofessional to say the least. Burger looked good but horrible service.

In the search for fish & chips, Links Bar & Grill topped the local listings with its version prepared with Japanese panko; fried to perfection - not a speck of grease - it is generous in portion, tender, moist, and crisp! Absolutely delicious...with tasty thin fries.

Sad to leave a low rating review but it was such a disappointment with our last visit. Food - to be honest, this is the worst Japanese food I've ever had in the states. I never know beef tongue could be this bad. It's literally like rubber and we cannot chew it well. It's my favorite dish and I order it in every Japanese restaurant. Everything else was mediocre or below average. Curry was too salty and a bit cold. Service - the lady was nice and friendly. It's the only reason I'm not leaving a 1 star here. However our serving dishes were so dirty.. looks like it still kept last guest's curry on it. Price - food is not good but really expensive. Watch out that if you order hot tea, they will charge you $4 for the tea bag and hot water - also the first time I experience this in a Japanese restaurant.

We love you, Maria! And Links, of course. We come here after a day of work to unwind or with a group of coworkers to complain about adult things, lol. The food is worth the price and the drinks even more so. You have got to try their Espresso Martini. Links is also one of the few good food spots in the city with a good beer selection.

We went here for our friends birthday. Very accommodating as our friends have kids so you know how it is to navigate a stroller in a restaurant. Food was fantastic, I got the Shrimp Taco & the hand roll set.

I didn't really try the rest of the dishes, but they seemed to be enjoyed by all. The service was excellent! We all arrived in waves and we never felt rushed. About five of us got here first, so we just slowly sipped on our drinks and ordered apps. The vibe is definitely a lot brighter than the former bar in this space. More contemporary and less dark and dank. Definitely less of a dive bar feel. I heard there used to be a patio here, but not sure if that still exists. Might come back to check it out since I love outdoor seating on a nice day. Great neighborhood bar offering elevated bar food.

Izakaya Links is a confused Japanese restaurant serving burgers, tacos, and Japanese food. We ordered the takoyaki, the chicken karaage, mixed tempura, udon, and a bunch of different rolls. The takoyaki we received wasn't cooked all the way through and the insides tasted like raw dough. The octopus pieces were also tiny and didn't add enough of the chewy texture you expect from takoyaki. The karaage and tempura were the best part of the meal. They were good, crunchy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. There udon was also good. The noodles were the right amount of chewy and the broth was flavorful. The sushi did not taste fresh to us. Granted we ordered sushi rolls, but we expect the fish to taste clean and fresh. Our fish pieces smelled and tasted very fishy and were not what we expect in a sushi restaurant. For drinks we ordered a mimosa pitcher and a few old fashioneds. The drinks were good and with the fried foods would have made a decent appetizer in the outdoor patio.

5 stars all the way!! - Time: Went on a Friday night around 6:30P. I made a reservation but it looked like we were the first people to arrive for dinner:) - Made our way to the backyard area and there were heated lamps around to keep us warm! It was pretty windy but the food didn't take too long and the atmosphere was very nice! Also there are TVs! Space was also really clean. Tables were spread apart for covid guidlines. - The food! They partner with New Oyaji from next door! They don't have everything on their menu but it's still a good list!:) - To start, we ordered the karaage which was so so yummy. It was lightly battered and came with some spicy mayo sauce. My s/o loves karaage and he especially liked this one here! There were about I think 7-8 pieces, I don't quite remember but it was a good amount for an appetizer. - Then for our entrees we ordered the fish and chips and hayashi omelet rice. I was surprised the fish came as one giant piece, and it was also very good and battered well. It came with fries (also good) and 3 dipping sauces; ketchup, tartar sauce and a pink tartar sauce made with Japanese pickles. - The omurice!! I loved it so much. It reminded me of the omurice I had in Japan. Super fluffy and the presentation of getting to cut it open and pouring the sauce was so nostalgic. The sauce was beefy and not spicy which I enjoyed. There was quite a good amount and had to take some of it to-go. - They also have cheesecake for dessert but I was too full!:( I will definitely be back to try more dishes and drinks!
