"Located just a few steps from the national library, this restaurant champions traditional flavours and the essence of cooking that never goes out of fashion, as highlighted by its signature dishes, namely fish and meat cooked on the open grill. The à la carte, which usually features powerful dishes such as a daily stew, also includes two unmissable specialities: the famous Cocido de Carmen served in three stages (firstly, the soup, then the tender Pedrosillano chickpeas, and lastly the meats); and the legendary Tortilla de Betanzos (there is even a counter that shows how many omelettes have been served here since 2014!)." - Michelin Inspector

"Eating at Taberna Pedraza is a little bit like going over to a good friend's house for dinner (albeit a friend that's a ridiculously good chef). The colorful, mismatched tiled floors create a casual vibe that's furthered by an eclectic bunch of disparate chairs, flower arrangements, and the friendly nature of the service. What's more, the small kitchen is open and visible from behind the bar, so you can see Chef Santiago Pedraza working his magic in real time. The straightforward menu here offers up simple tapas: Go for the classics, like croquettes, tortilla, or the steak, and definitely don't skip dessert. "

The steak was outstanding: taste so aromatic, perfectly grilled - truly amazing. The restaurant itself has a nice setting, great tables for groups of 4/5 and the service was good. I do think it has some room to grow in their Appetizers and other dishes. It could be a bit more edgy. Overall for me a good experience, but also very expensive for this experience

Not a good experience overall. Food: very standard Ox (not dry aged) with a high price. The ox came (as usual) with a huge bone but on top of that came with a lot of fat which made the price really high for not much usable meat. Starters: Croquetas were very standard and inside they were cold. Callos: ok Desert: 22€ for a piece of bread with just a cream of Cabrales cheese. In the menu is described as Ice Cream. Service was not great and they all looked overwhelmed and the restaurant was not even 50% capacity. Overall experience: not very good, is a restaurant made for expat tourism other than for locas. Price was extremely high for the quality of the product. Not recommended.

the tortilla de betanzos was absolutely beautiful perfectly cooked outside with warm runny yolk on the inside.. the anchoas de santona were so delicately salted.. the enselada de ventresca was delicious.. the croquetas de cremosa were so creamy/soupy on the inside..

What a “Chuletón”!! A 2 inch thick, 120 days aged steak! And it didn’t feel heavy! Also the Tortilla de Betanzos is really awesome! Expensive but worth it!

Steak was great, super pricey and we ordered a ribeye but got a strip steak. Dry age was fuuunky, which was awesome, loved that. Sausage was great. Tomatoes and onions were great. We did not order fries, but were charged and they served them. Thanks. Craziest thing was I ordered a Negroni and the waiter said yes confidently. It was horrible, I made some faces, but because of the language barrier I did not complain. My wife said "man up and drink it!". Lol, I did, and realized after another sip I had been served gin and tomato juice. A wretched combination. Wine was lovely.

Google
The expectations from a world class restaurant very underwhelming. Very impolite manager, refusing to give us the complaint form and serving us in English. And after all, they added €50 to a bottle we ordered after the order was brought in a different price was mentioned. Lastly, after confronting them, they continue arguing their point and consecutively insulting our table.

Go hungry! Is my only advice. We ordered Cocido which from what i understand can only be ordered if the whole table is eating it. There was food to feed a small army! I'm not a particularly big eater, so for the price that we paid per person (€55) I personally felt that it was expensive for the little that I ate. So yes, very tasty and worth it if you go very hungry and/or a person who can Eat a lot of food in one sitting. Waiters lovely and beautiful decor too.

The chistorra was amazing those peppers are liffe. The tortilla de patata was sssooo disappointing. I think what makes it so particular is that they tried to make it so different It is a good tortilla the potatos don't get me wrong but I wouldn't go back for it. The potatos are cut very thin and square the egg is extremely runny if you want to try a different type of tortilla go there missing the chuncks of potatos and onions. Service was nothing special. Overall I would go back for the chistorra and a salad for sure.

Yelp
Our party of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our multi course dinner at Taberna Pedraza! We had a variety of apps, then sea bass, sole (lenguado), and even some sirloin. Wine list is nicely diverse with typical mark-up. Service was excellent!
