In the heart of Dogpatch, this bright sweet shop serves up creatively crafted ice cream flavors alongside irresistible pastries and cookies.
"At this casual Dogpatch spot, the flavors don’t take themselves too seriously—you’ll find everything from popcorn and milk tea to butterbeer and ube doodle (our favorite). Whether you order your scoop topped with house-made fudge or as the base of a float, the perfectly sweet ice cream should satisfy whatever craving you had today for frozen dairy. And in case your sugar high hasn’t reached its peak yet, they also have cases filled with Asian American and French-style pastries from their sister spot, Sunday Bakeshop." - Julia Chen
"Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous, Dogpatch Potrero Hill by Hearsay Supper Club. Artisan ice cream is everywhere in San Francisco these days. And while there's plenty to be said for crazy experimental flavors, sometimes you just want a scoop of vanilla. Luckily, at this always-busy scoop shop, you don't have to choose. Unique flavors like Black Lychee Tea and French Lavender share menu space with go-to favorites like Just Chocolate and Sweet Cream. Don't miss the non-frozen treats too—the housemade sour mango licorice is incredible."
"The Sunday Family of restaurants is digging into French pastries with Asian American flavors, starting with Sunday Bakeshop opening in Oakland in spring 2021, followed by Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous rebranding as Sunday Social in the Dogpatch in summer 2021, and both have good cookies. Pastry Chef Elaine Lau has several big drop cookies on the menu, and flavors rotate through Ube Snickerdoodle, White Rabbit Matcha inspired by the favorite candy, and a Dim Sum Cookie flavored with red bean paste and toasted sesame seeds. Stroll in to see what’s available that day, or order a pack of four in advance, if you must try every flavor." - Becky Duffett
"Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous, a popular ice cream shop in the Dogpatch neighborhood, is changing ownership but will continue to offer its beloved flavors under new management. The shop, known for its unique ice cream flavors like candied violet and chocolate malted crunch, will be handed over by Annabelle Topacio to Deuki Hong and will join the Sunday Family group. The shop will be renamed Sunday Social and will expand its menu to include pies, cookies, brownies, and espresso. Minor renovations will be made to the space, but it will remain open during the transition." - Becky Duffett
"A labor of love from couple Annabelle Topiaco and Ian Flores, Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous produces delicate, delectable ice cream in a miscellany of rotating flavors: Banana with dark rum, french lavender, and black sesame, to name just a few. Whatever you get, order it in a homemade waffle cone, and for an added treat, don't miss the peanut butter maltballs and other sweets to take home." - Daisy Barringer, Eater Staff
