"Nouveau French meets modern Thai at SO/ Sofitel Bangkok , which takes its design cues from four of the core Chinese elements: Water, Earth, Metal, and Wood. The result is like being transported into a fashion shoot or the pages of a decor magazine: Each of the 237 rooms and suites is themed, and depending on which element you end up with, there may be fantasy-inspired wallpaper, walls of glass and warm wood, or highly polished floors, plus extra touches courtesy of fashion designer Christian Lacroix. Tall windows allow for views of urbanBangkokand green Lumphini Park at every turn, bathrooms are stocked with YTSARA products, and amenities include 40-inch flat-screen TVs, Apple Mac Mini media hubs, and seamless Wi-Fi in all rooms, plus iPads in the suites. Even the staff, with their beautifully coordinated, mixed-patterned uniforms, look like they just stepped off the runway. All this incredible style is matched by a vibe that’s both energetic and wonderfully warm, including in the six buzzing restaurants and bars—which range from the street food-inspired Red Oven and the rooftop Park Society and Hi-Lo Bar to the poolside Water Club."

SO/ Bangkok (Bangkok, Central Thailand) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Part French, part Thai, all high-gloss modern design, the thirty-story Sofitel So Bangkok lets you forget neither its European heritage nor its setting at the heart of the bustling capital of Thailand. The green expanse of Lumpini Park is just outside, and beyond it, on view from one floor-to-ceiling window after another, stands Bangkok’s dramatic skyline. Inside, fashion designer Christian Lacroix oversaw the work of five Thai designers, resulting in an adventurous but cohesive look — as well as some very natty staff uniforms." - Tablet Hotels

First time at So Bangkok and fell in love! The service at this hotel is truly outstanding. I absolutely love it! Every staff member I met was attentive, polite, and genuinely helpful, from the entrance to the lobby. I especially want to thank Teddy who helped me check-in, he made the whole experience feel so welcoming. He’s not only professional but also has such a warm guy and kind personality that really stands out. It’s always nice to see someone who clearly loves what they do. I’d definitely love to come back and stay here again next time I’m in Bangkok!

Book and Bomb at Red Oven, Sofitel So, delivered exceptional service throughout our dining experience. From the moment we arrived until the very end of our meal, they were consistently attentive, courteous, and genuinely caring. They ensured that our table was always perfectly set, our glasses never empty, and every request was handled promptly with a smile. Their warmth and professionalism created a truly pleasant and memorable dining atmosphere. It’s rare to find service that feels both seamless and heartfelt, but Book and Bom achieved exactly that. Their teamwork and positive energy made our evening at Red Oven even more enjoyable. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to both of them for their outstanding hospitality, they are a true credit to Sofitel So and a wonderful reflection of what great service should be. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed in a suite at SO/ Bangkok with access to the Club Lounge, and my experience was truly outstanding. The moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their politeness, attentiveness, and genuine warmth—they made every interaction feel personal and welcoming. Our suite was spacious, beautifully appointed, and the extra touches really elevated the stay. Waking up to views over the park view was a highlight. The amenities were excellent, and everything felt clean, modern, and stylish. Breakfast offerings were superb: a wide variety, high quality, fresh and well presented. Whether you prefer hot dishes, fresh fruit, baked items, or more local flavours, there was something for everyone. But the absolute star was the Club Lounge. From the food and drinks throughout the day to the attentive service, it exceeded all expectations. The lounge design is elegant and comfortable, and its balcony/viewing terrace is simply breathtaking—sitting out there with the view made many moments feel magical. Overall, SO/ Bangkok delivered a luxurious, relaxing, and memorable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for outstanding service, excellent breakfast, and a lounge experience that really goes above and beyond.

This hotel should have been amazing. But - like so many other reviewers have said - there are a litany of issues that leave you terribly disappointed.||Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite - amazing! ||However, the bathroom in the suite has a thin blind, so whilst the bedroom is totally blacked out, the bathroom floods the room with light at sunrise. Not that it mattered, the world's firmest bed and thinnest pillows (along with scratchy sheets) are not conducive to a good night's sleep. We were moved to a new room for the rest of our stay; the AC was faulty and one of the blinds was also broken (but at least I could close the bedroom door so it was dark to sleep - albeit very warm).||The main issue was the food & beverage, however.||A 5 star hotel breakfast in Bangkok should be AMAZING. Despite the variety on the buffet, most of the food is cold and/or stale. In order to resolve the issue I asked to speak to the manager, and was told they don't arrive before 9am. So I asked for the chef, and was told the same thing again! It clearly shows that the management are not present when most of the guests are here. The staff clearly don't want to be there either.||The made to order station team are intransigent; despite having the ingredients they will not prepare something that is not on their list for the day. Same with the smoothie / fruit station. No amendments or adjustments are allowed. So many rules!||The Japanese restaurant is dreadful; most of the food was precooked and then re-heated and served to us. And it's actually just part of the buffet restaurant so your meal has a procession of people parading past ... hardly the ambience of a 5 star hotel restaurant (and I booked it specifically as I did not want to dine at a buffer restaurant).||The bar at reception was DEAD - we were the only two customers. We ordered a martini and a margarita. The margarita was served in a martini glass and the martini was served in some strange vessel. At least the martini was drinkable - the margarita was not. And despite being the only two in the bar, it took over 20 minutes to make 2 drinks. The bar-tender came over to apologise that the margarita wasn't in the correct glass (didnt notice the martini wasn't??!!) but never inquired if the drinks were to our liking.||The club lounge food is cold and stale. The hot selection is under a light globe so doesn't stay warm. And even though you are in Thailand, you will get served mini burgers, pizza and other such snacks. What a missed opportunity to serve Thai snacks! The staff are friendly here, however.||I went to try the spa and was told it was fully booked for the duration of my stay, and then the receptionist rudely rolled down the garage door! Despite walking past for the pool, I strangely never saw anyone in there.||I cannot think of a positive thing to say about the SO Bangkok. There is clearly a management issue - I'd be surprised if the hotel even has a General Manager. ||And despite it being an ACCOR requirement to send a feedback survey after a stay, I never received one.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the Red Oven Restaurant. I was delighted to find that the reviews I read were all true. The service was impeccable. The staff, especially Book, Bee, Jah, and Nancy were very helpful and friendly. There was a large array of desserts that I greatly enjoyed. I would definitely recommend dining here!

I’m on day 2 of a 4-night stay at SO/ Bangkok and already feel compelled to write this review. From the moment I arrived, the service has been nothing short of stellar. The check-in experience with Mint was especially memorable—warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. She set the tone for what has so far been a flawless stay. In fact, I was so impressed by her and the staff I felt compelled to ask Mint for her name because the check in staff have no name tags. She was kind enough to write me her name on the review card, and that allows me to write this review more personably. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been welcoming and proactive, always going the extra mile to make sure I feel at home. It’s the little things—like remembering small details from my arrival and making sure everything is smooth each day—that really stand out. The hotel itself is stylish and vibrant, with a great mix of modern design and comfort. But what truly makes SO/ Bangkok shine is its people. I’m only halfway through my stay, but I already know I’ll be leaving with wonderful memories and a desire to return. Special thanks again to Mint and the team for making my time here extra memorable—it’s been exactly the kind of Bangkok stay I was hoping for. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bangkok!

Having stayed at the Wien So/ we were excited for the BKK experience. But. Arriving at 345pm, our room was not ready. Upgrade was available after 0700pm so exactly a deal offer. Apologies? Noop. Offer of a drink? Noop. I know SO/ is different but cloathing staff in tropical weather in a Venetian Carnavalesque suit seems over the top. Sniffy snif if you know what I mean. Room was very amateurishly painted over existing wood. Rush job or temporary fix. Very poorly done. Shower with own character.Cold and suddenly very hot. Great big bed! Full breakfast. Lovely pool but no sunshine onto the beds. So a So So for So/.

Thank you SO Bangkok ❤️ I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. This is my third stay here . The design is unique and stylish, perfectly balancing a modern city vibe with a sense of privacy. It’s very well-suited for business travelers, offering both comfort and convenience. What impressed me most was the highly personalized service at Signature Club at 25th Floor , Especially thanks the whole team member and Ms Grace for every detail made me feel well taken care of ❤️ Thank you Mr Pop for his good service too. That’s always a wonderful experience overall at SO Bangkok .
