"Ever since your eyes met over the jug of cheap mojito you’ve been spending a lot of time together. But now you need to check that you can actually get on without, you know, getting it on. Head for Six Portland Road, a casual neighbourhood restaurant in a quiet part of Notting Hill that serves things like pecorino covered grilled courgette, plaice with cider butter, and pumpkin and sage ravioli. Once you get involved in their wine list you can easily end up spending £60 per person, so it’s not the most affordable option, but going for a few small plates and a glass of wine would be our new-love-interest move here." - heidi lauth beasley

"If you’re discrete, calm, and confident about everything you do, then you’ll be perfectly at home at Six Portland Road. It’s a casual spot on a quiet street at the edge of Notting Hill, serving elegant, unfussy food to well-to-do locals. A night out here is probably going to cost you upwards of £60 per person, but you won’t regret it for dishes like their grilled courgette with preserved lemon and pecorino, or plaice with sea aster and cider butter. And an excellent lunchtime set menu (£21 for three courses) makes it a perfect, intimate and inexpensive spot for a daytime date when you want to be far, far away from the crowds on the other side of this neighbourhood." - Oliver Feldman

It’s a casual spot on a quiet street at the edge of Notting Hill, serving elegant, unfussy modern European food to well-to-do locals. A dinner here isn’t going to be a cheap one, but you won’t regret it for dishes like Jerusalem artichoke ravioli with wild garlic pesto, or pan-fried duck with swiss chard and gooseberries. An excellent set menu (£28 for three courses) is available for lunch and dinner, and makes it a perfect, intimate, and inexpensive spot for a quiet date." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

"Located on a quiet street in upscale Holland Park, this new British bistro has all the makings of a classic. There's no trendy furniture or lighting, there are no small plates—in fact, there are no gimmicks whatsoever, just great food, service, and an extensive wine list. The seasonal menu is British with some Mediterranean inflection here and there, and the meat, from lamb sweetbreads to boudin blanc, makes for phenomenal comfort food. Even if you're not a Holland Park resident, you'll feel, at least for a few hours, like this is your old neighborhood joint. "

Such a lovely place with lovely people. The fish was super fresh and the pasta extremely tasty without becoming heavy. They have a great lunch menù that gives a great taste of their experience. The service was top notch and super friendly and the external terrace in spring makes it all dreamy. Will most definitely come back!

We hosted a business dinner for a group of ten, including guests from overseas, and everyone was thoroughly impressed. The menu offered something exciting for all tastes, the food was delicious, and the wine and drinks selection was both thoughtful and varied. A special mention goes to the outstanding service – attentive, professional, and friendly throughout. Thank you again for a wonderful evening.

Absolutely adore this place. Food is absolutely amazing and the wine is divine. Service is incredible even when we have a big party of 8. There’s a few nice options on the desert menu as well. They have outside seating in the summer so it’s very very good vibes - great wine pair with great company. It is tucked away from holland Ave so it’s nice and quiet. The only thing is the food is rather expensive - 36-42 quid a main.

Terrific little bistro in the heart of Holland Park. The ambience is very warm and welcoming - not snooty or flashy at all. The interiors are a bit worn, in a charming way. The service is unpretentious and casual. But most of the food, I thought the food was excellent. Fillet was perfect. Fries were excellent. Trout was terrific. And the total price is actually quite good for this part of London. Two mains, two starters, two glasses of wine, two sides for £155. This is not cheap, but compared to other places around the neighbourhood, it's not terrible.

Last night, before heading to Opera Holland Park, we stopped by Six Portland Road for dinner. Located on a side street, the restaurant is tucked away from the city's noise, and it even has a lovely terrace for al fresco dining on summer evenings. The service was outstanding, with the staff being exceptionally friendly and energetic. We were the first table to arrive, but the restaurant quickly filled up. We enjoyed Beef Tartar with Chips, Burrata Salad, Golden Risotto, and Chicken Pie. The portions were generous, and the Beef Tartar and Chips made a perfect pairing. The Beef Tartar was exquisitely flavorful, with a tender texture that melted in the mouth. The Burrata paired wonderfully with peaches. The mix of fresh and caramelised peach was light and could even be a great choice for dessert – ideal for those who prefer delicate flavors. For the main course, the Chicken Pie was a visual and gastronomic delight. The pie was beautifully golden brown, and the vegetables created a balanced meal. It was my first time trying Beetroot Risotto, and it exceeded my expectations. Cooked al dente, it was simply amazing. We also had the Bread and Butter, which was delicious and fresh. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and I highly recommend Six Portland Road for a memorable evening out.

The service is outstanding, it’s a hidden gem in London, and the food is incredible, especially their elderflower jelly with melon, it is just a reminder to be childish, and the taste is exquisite. It feels like you’re travelling back in time. The atmosphere is amazing.

We had the most stunning meal last night. The food was elegant, innovative, delightfully seasonal and vibrant. The team are charming (Karen is a gem) and the setting is beautifully tucked away. As a chef/ food designer, I am rarely so impressed! 6 Portland Road, thank you and see you again soon 🙏

Yelp
Giving this a second go... Food is amazing just like the last time. Service is incredible even when we have a big party of 8. There's a few nice options on the desert menu as well. The only thing is the food is still expensive - 36-42 quid a main.

Yelp
Six Portland Street is an absolute gem! It's got the perfect mix of cosy, sophisticated, and cool vibes that make it a top spot for exceptional food. Six Portland Street ticks all the boxes. It's also a perfect lunch and dinner spot while the Opera is on at the park.

Yelp
A lovely small restaurant hidden in the Holland Park area. When we visited we loved the food particularly the red mullet main and Asparagus started. Very adventurous food with a brilliant relaxed feel to the place, much helped by some very friendly staff and looking into a zen open kitchen where the chefs a happily sens out brilliant food.

Yelp
Probably the best restaurant in London but so utterly classy and under the radar that crass, tasteless berks don't want to come here. Tho did once see an exPM in here, which was a shame, as mostly it's a very pleasant crowd. If you don't like Six Portland Road, I don't like you, simple as that. Awesome ingredients, generally not mucked about with, super understated service, good wine list, all low-intervention with the odd very 'natural' stinky - check you didn't order one of those unless you are into that kind of thing. It's just perfect.
