"If you’re discrete, calm, and confident about everything you do, then you’ll be perfectly at home at Six Portland Road. It’s a casual spot on a quiet street at the edge of Notting Hill, serving elegant, unfussy food to well-to-do locals. A night out here is probably going to cost you upwards of £60 per person, but you won’t regret it for dishes like their grilled courgette with preserved lemon and pecorino, or plaice with sea aster and cider butter. And an excellent lunchtime set menu (£21 for three courses) makes it a perfect, intimate and inexpensive spot for a daytime date when you want to be far, far away from the crowds on the other side of this neighbourhood." - Oliver Feldman

Head for Six Portland Road, a casual neighbourhood restaurant in a quiet part of Notting Hill that serves things like pecorino covered grilled courgette, plaice with cider butter, and pumpkin and sage ravioli. "Located on a quiet street in upscale Holland Park, this new British bistro has all the makings of a classic. There's no trendy furniture or lighting, there are no small plates—in fact, there are no gimmicks whatsoever, just great food, service, and an extensive wine list. The seasonal menu is British with some Mediterranean inflection here and there, and the meat, from lamb sweetbreads to boudin blanc, makes for phenomenal comfort food. Even if you're not a Holland Park resident, you'll feel, at least for a few hours, like this is your old neighborhood joint. "
