Yelp
(Dined 05/05/21 WE @ 4:00pm & 08/02/22 TU @ 1:00pm): Brother... if you have brews, we will easily become friends!
Located in the former location of most recently Simmzy's and before that a Burbank landmark Chadney's Restaurant directly across the street from the NBC Studios, Brew Brothers Brewpub had some big shoes to fill, and I was more than happy to let my flip-flops lead me into their establishment and checked out the relatively new kid in town on two occasions with friends. Would their brews and pub grub bring me back for more!?
PURCHASE
Brouwerij Van Steenberge Augustijn Blond Belgian Blonde Beer 7.0% ABV 10floz Draft ($8.00): Honey wheat sweet flavor, crisp finish, and honey floral sweet aftertaste - an easy drink https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1flEabVIa3U9pyfwulbxAQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
Funkin' Fun Guy Burger & French Fries ($14.50): Grass-fed Black Angus beef patty, beer braised mushrooms, gruyere cheese, Swiss cheese sauce, garlic aioli, and crispy onions all held together between a toasted brioche bun, this was a filthy two-hander as juices ran down my chin and hands. The patty was cooked medium and easily melted in my mouth along with the slippery mushrooms. The plentiful crispy spud sticks were nearly a meal on their own https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=5KL_87yyK03gC6AGQNc08g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
The Bruery Hold The Spoon Black Chocolate Cake Double Pastry Imperial Stout Beer 8.5% ABV 10floz Draft ($9.00): Chocolate milky vanilla flavor, mouthfeel finish, and chocolate creamy vanilla aftertaste - liquid cake https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=tc1tLg24J9QTbQOdors_tw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
Almanac Beer Co. Speak Of The Scorpio Sour IPA Beer 7.2% ABV 10floz Draft ($11.00): Fruity sour tart flavor, drying finish, and light fruity hoppy sour aftertaste - pucker up https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7S2-EcgcM4EP9BCACJV4gQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!
Butt Chin American IPA Beer 7.0% ABV 16floz Draft ($8.00): Honestly... the name caught my attention! Citrusy floral light malty flavor, easy finish, and slight floral hoppy aftertaste - a tame beer for a hot day https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KXGGaxI39lxc7YYP0gfwHw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
Brews Brothers Pork Sandwich & French Fries ($14.50): Beer Braised Pork Marinated 48 Hours w/Olive Oil, Garlic, & Dried Oregano. Served On A Toasted Baguette & Topped w/House Made Citrus Mojo & Pickled Red Onion, I felt there was more tasty crispy crusty bread than there was lightly seasoned somewhat dry meat. I was expecting a beastly filthy sloppy hoagie but instead got an obediently tired clean clean sub sandwich that resembled more of a banh mi (nothing against banh mi because I loved them!). The fries were yummy with their crunchy outside and steaming hot inside. This sandwich needed to be more oomph and robustness https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JAWo9mBKz7wf8uPbPt1xQA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
SERVICE
We were kindly greeted once we entered and had our selection of seating at these early times, so we went towards the back along the front windows with a view. Menus and water glasses were delivered immediately, and once we ordered, the beers quickly arrived, and the food no more than ten minutes later. We were periodically checked on, our water glasses refilled, and empties cleared away. All was good!
PARKING (FREE)
They had their own private open-air parking lot with plenty of spots - 'nuff said!
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
An industrial-looking space with tall beer stills to your right, centered was a large and long bar with tons of barstools, and there were ample tables and chairs throughout and on the front outdoor patio. Little to no decorations on the brick or wood walls. Plenty of natural lighting came through the many large glass walls and front doors while electric industrial ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several muted TVs while rock music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7_lL8ekm9MjFDuIVCE-k3w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
I generally liked Brew Brothers Brewpub and would consider another visit to try more of their own beers and maybe a Happy Hour if they had one (seemed like a perfect place to have one). The burger was awesome but the sandwich not so much. The prices were comparable while the service was on alert. The menu selection was what you expected for a brewpub and varied enough. But again, I was more interested in their beers. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $71.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
