Seoulju serves up a vibrant mix of fried dumplings, kimchi pancakes, and Korean fried chicken, all while enveloped in a party atmosphere complete with lively music and soju cocktails.
"Few restaurants in Austin are more fun than Seoulju. From the music blasting from the speakers, to the giant griddles filled with fried chicken and melty cheese, to the seemingly-endless pile of soju bottles finding their way onto the tables—Seoulju is a party, through and through. Ask your server for some pointers on Korean drinking games, if you’re not familiar, then take turns going around the table flicking bottle caps while you soak it all up with some excellent fried chicken, kimchi pancakes, and other Korean pub staples. Just make sure to get there early, because they certainly draw a crowd. " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"For its final New Year’s Eve, the North Austin Korean restaurant — which is closing at the end of the year — is hosting a big party. There will be soju shots set up like dominos, food, and a midnight Champagne toast. It’s free to attend and it runs from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.; there are indoor areas." - Nadia Chaudhury
"The funky fun North Lamar Korean restaurant serves up a substantial Korean fried chicken menu. There are varying parts and sizes, from the whole bird to chicken wings to drumsticks. Everything comes with sauces. Pickup orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury
"Seoulju is best known for their excellent Korean fried chicken, but they also do some fun twists on Korean staples, like putting a giant scoop of sauteed beef bulgogi on a bed of waffle fries. There’s also kimchi, spicy mayo, sweet mustard, and ketchup on there, so it still feels somewhat in the french fry realm, despite the fun additions. " - raphael brion, nicolai mccrary
