Scopa is a spacious, stylish Italian eatery serving up delicious pasta, shareable antipasti, and inventive cocktails, all in a lively, industrial-chic setting.
"Although most people associate it with Venice, Scopa is technically in Marina del Rey (so says their 90292 ZIP code). This common mix-up is understandable considering it's has all of the elements of a Venice restaurant: located just off of Abbot Kinney, always crowded, and home to a swanky bar in the back. Regardless of it is geographically, Scopa is an ideal spot for a loud, sceney dinner with friends or a hot date. From a solid assortment of antipasti—get the rice ball and the crispy squash blossoms—and pastas like the chitarra with pecorino and pepper, to great cocktails, you'll have a great time. They also have a great brunch menu if you're looking to day drink and eat carbonara on a Sunday afternoon. " - nikko duren, garrett snyder, sylvio martins
"Scopa is one of the restaurants in Los Angeles that serves Skyduster beer." - Matthew Kang
"Scopa is a good Westside party restaurant at dinner - but at brunch, it might be even better. Because no matter how late you decide that today’s a good day to get drunk while you eat eggs, there will probably be a table available at Scopa. The Italian-ish menu isn’t going to blow you away, but it’s still good - we recommend the ricotta and huckleberry blintzes, or the soft eggs with Italian sausage. But you’re here for the excellent brunch cocktails anyway. The Mezcal Mary is a very good take on the traditional brunch cocktail, and the same great Old Fashioned from the dinner menu is also available, if you’re looking for something stronger." - brant cox, brett keating
"The popular Italian restaurant in Venice has taken over their side parking lot to create a brand new outdoor dining space that includes socially distant tables, astroturf, umbrellas, and plenty of foliage. Make a reservation here." - brett keating, james montgomery
"When Scopa Italian Roots opened, it was one of those always-wild Venice party restaurants. It’s not quite as busy as it used to be, but we dig the toned down version, too. The menu hasn’t changed much since 2013, and it’s still the kind of excellent Italian food you’ll brave dealing with the parking in Venice for. The lasagna here is going to make you immediately forget you ever swore that frozen grocery store lasagna is “just as good as the real thing.”" - brett keating
