"With colorful mismatched furniture and art covering every inch of its navy walls, Farrier and Draper feels like an eccentric country mansion. There are several rooms, one of which leads directly into the beautiful Powerscourt Centre (one of the best shopping experiences in the city), a bar with brown leather stools and a floor-to-ceiling display of liquor bottles; the Georgian Room, with plush armchairs; and the Gallery Room, with high ceilings, a fireplace, and the aforementioned art. On a chilly day, cozy up by the crackling hearth and you’ll be in heaven." - Nicola Brady

I visited this fantastic bar before Christmas last year, and it exceeded all expectations unfortunately the place has been shut down now . The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with great music and friendly staff and lovely food by ‘Laacha Restaurant’ .

This place is absolutely GORGEOUS. Vinny the bartender welcomed me for a lovely two for €16 cocktails at lunch time. He was sweet and lovely to chat with. It’s my last day of travel here in Ireland and I feel thankful to have started the day’s energy here! Thanks Vinny and Farrier & Draper 💚☘️

Stunning place with very good location. The environment is so nice and the cocktails are tasty. Love the deco there showing some stories that we don’t know can discover more..

SCAM, BEWARE! This place tricks you and refuses to give you your money back. Sign out front said 2 cocktails for €16 and that’s the only reason we came in. Told the hostess that’s what we want. After she sat us no one came around and I had to go up to the bar to get my own menu and again had to go up to the bar to order because no one came by. It was 4pm on a weekday so not a terribly busy time. Ordered 2 margaritas, asked for one spicy. Bartender not once said it would be extra for spicy despite me again saying when I ordered I want the special that’s advertised on the sign (which does say margaritas). Got my bill and they charged me double! It’s no longer €16 because of the added “spicy”. I asked for a courtesy adjustment and the manager said no. At this point I find it so ridiculous I even told them I’m going to do a charge back with my credit card company and they still didn’t budge. So instead of doing the right thing, they rather lose a customer, gain a negative public review, get €0 instead of €16, and generally just be a shady business. Proud to say I got my money back from Chase and those crappy drinks were free :)

Google
nice little spot for a light bite and a cocktail. Guinness here was super smooth and creamy. spicey margarita was beautiful according to my husband. little bit expensive and the menu states the wrong prices as when we went to pay they charged us 4 euro more on each dish. which has knocked the rating down.

Google
Such a beautiful place, the design is beautiful. Service was okay, a little slow and the staff seemed to be overwhelmed. The food menu was not loading on their website. So I could not pre plan on what to order. Food was okay the seafood pasta was okay, a little salty. Drinks however were well made. I had the Tommy's Spice Bag Margarita which I enjoyed. The dinning room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean but one of the soap dispensers was out of soap, which can happen during busy hours. It was not busy when I was there. Over all I had an okay experience. Maybe it was an off day but I was not totally impressed on my first visit.

Wow! Thank you for an amazing lunch! Beyond our expectations. Incredible decor, attentive staff and food that was beyond delicious. The chef Ricardo was so kind to talk with us. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I stopped by here for a drink (and to enjoy the impressive bar display). I also ordered a snack -- curried fries -- from the on-site restaurant, Lacha. The curried fries were addicting! I don't know if it was the salt or the curry seasoning, but I could not stop munching on them. Ketchup was not even necessary.

Yelp
Worst service I've had in a long time. There was good music but our drinks took almost an hour and a half to come out with no apology. Food was ok. Not worth your time there are much better places in Dublin

Yelp
We went here for dinner one night while on our trip to Ireland. My husband and I split a lemon mojito. It was good, but I did not expect the mint. I'm not sure if that's how mojitos usually are made, I just thought it was interesting. As a family of seven, we split their four pizzas (Margherita, spicy sausage, bruschetta, and veggie). I only had the Margherita and spicy sausage, and both were pretty tasty. We finished the pizzas pretty quickly and we're satisfied.

Yelp
Stopped in to get out of the rain and grab an afternoon drink. Had the mussels and the two Pink Satin cocktails. I would have ordered 4 more if I could have. They were amazing. Maybe one of my favorite cocktails I've ever sipped on. The decor is so beautiful. Worth the visit !

Yelp
Came in for cocktails pre-dinner and so glad we found this join. The place as multiple bars and places to sit. It's really cool since you multiple types of places to sit, more intimate ones with comfy chairs and art, or saddle up to the bar for conversation. Enjoyed this spot to kick off the evening.

Yelp
very cute, charming and intimate restaurant. Service is friendly and fun. the restaurant is larger than it looks and has a very cool vibe. would love to go back again. the food is delicious. Generous portions. Top ingredients. Wide selection of wines. great way to end a busy workday and unwind with friends and colleagues.

Yelp
Very cute bar! I loved the comfortable brightly colored chairs located upstairs. F&D is very spacious, the music was great and the bartender was very cool. The cocktails were great.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant in Dublin. Authentic high quality food! Freshly prepared. My favorites are angollotti and scampi risotto both of which are hard to resist. The only let down is the desserts. Perfect place for a dates You have got to try it. I Insist!

Yelp
Came here with 8 of my friends at 0130am while it was still open on a Sunday night. Bouncer immediately informed us that we could not enter with one of our party. The excuse that was given was because he was drunk and could walk straight As he was approaching the venue. I am visiting home from Dallas and was disappointed at what came across as profiling. When I mentioned this to the bouncer I was abruptly interrupted and told that it was not profiling. In today's day and age it is very easy to identify profiling. Of all of the party he was the only one wearing a coloured parka jacket and a polo neck and was singled out. Say what you want but this was profiling. Of course this angered the party, who were celebrating a 40th birthday party and trying to enter a bar that was already pretty empty and everyone who entered was like the majority of us.....in dark coloured clothing. Unbelievable and definitely would NOT recommend visiting this place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Yelp
I had to add this to Yelp which I'm quite surprised about seeing as it's been open a few weeks already. Located in Powerscourt Townhouse Centre it what was once Lost Society. Step through the doors & the decor made me think it was like stepping back in time to the origins of Powerscourt. Then I seen the bartenders and you're then in the 20th century cos they look like they should be alongside Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders. Whatever era they're in it's pretty fabulous! Sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail. I chose a v 21st century pornstar martini which was fantastic. Came here on a v rare summer day. It's dark, leather & exposed brick which seems to be the current trend. Their bar selection is staggering. It's going to grow and be filled with lots of niche alcoholic products that you more than likely won't find anywhere else in Dublin. We were told they'll be serving food soon. I'll definitely be back to try it out.

Yelp
First time I came and the last. After we were seated I had to get up to request the service, it started wrong there. My friend and I ordered an Aperol spritz and it came with ice and soda (almost no appeal) after requesting the exchange I was informed that I had already consumed half of the drink (which is not true, I had not even drunk 1/4 of the drink, because I was trying to drink without having to make a complaint). And as if all that wasn't enough, they forgot to bring us the Bruschetta we had ordered. Anyway, I am very disappointed with the establishment and the poor service. I will never recommend it.

Yelp
My partner and I stopped into Farrier & Draper for a quick drink before dinner, and overall, the vibe is pretty intimate, but the service was a bit lacking. The inside is very loungey and there were a good number of groups here. It definitely had the feel of a very classy cocktail bar. The menu was hit or miss. All the cocktails tending towards overly sweet drinks and there were hardly any savory cocktails. Service was rather poor here - we sat down at the bar in sat there for a good 7 or 10 minutes before I had to flag someone down to take our order. And this was not a peak time, there was only one other couple seats are in the bartender was just having a whole tasting with them and ignoring us. OK. And then when we went to pay the bill, apparently the drinks were not even ordered and so I had to go to the bartender who had ignored us the whole time and he had to ask what drinks I had even though of course I did not commit to memory all these wacky cocktail names they have. Overall, while the look and feel is good, the service make this a missable spot.

Yelp
Had lunch here today after shopping and site seeing. Good service, good food and drink. AND, they serve breakfast items late on weekends! We got the avocado toast and it was delicious. Excellent accompaniment to the daily Guinness ! And a lovely loo!

Yelp
This place is lovely. It was cold outside this morning and I walked into this space and just felt at home! The staff was so kind and friendly! It's a perfect place for a cup of coffee by one of their fires. They have two fireplaces! Both roaring and crackling. My new favorite hangout when in Dublin!

Yelp
I booked a table and ordered finger food for 15 people in this place to celebrate my birthday. When I arrived no one came to me and I needed to find the table by myself, when I found it was three separate small tables with not enough room to everyone and they placed us in a very bad space. The music was very loud so we couldn't talk without screaming. When the finger food came I was really embarrassed, they sent 4 small trays with starters that wouldn't be enough for everyone, some guests couldn't even try it, they charged me almost 200,00 euros for that "finger food". Terrible experience, frustrating and embarrassing, first and last time in this place. They simply spoiled our night, my night. Don't go to this place to celebrate a special date.

Yelp
This place is getting only 2 stars, not because there's anything horrible about it but because it is simply not worth the exorbitant price for drinks. I got a simple gin and tonic which ran me nearly 10€, my friend's whiskey sour was about the same. I mean, they charged me 2.50 for the tonic - got to be kidding me - I realize that the place is meant to be a bit more upscale but that's just not necessary. It's gorgeous inside and the location is great to complement the Pyg-goers next door - more lounge-y than club-y, but not pub like the other places nearby. Service was somewhat cool and detached from one of the bartenders, very engaging and humorous from the other (we interacted with both as it was nearly empty when we walked in). Apparently there's a restaurant downstairs which opened relatively recently but we didn't go down to see it, and after paying nearly 10e for what is literally the simplest mixed drink that one can make, I wasn't about to hang round to have a gander at the menu - probably charge you 50cent per leaf of salad or something. Anyway not impressive for the price, sad to say.

Yelp
Amazing tapas and pastries in a very historical townhouse called Powerscourt Townhouse where Sir Richard Wingfield Lord of Powerscourt, a member of Parliament, resided in the late 1700's. We sat in the salon which had lovely decor and ambiance and some light jazz.

Gavin S.

Yelp
What is not to like about this place! Seriously! The food is absolutely AMAZING! Have been twice now and both times I was blown away buy the food! Thats not all - the building its self is brilliant and full of history! I honestly can't recumbent the place enough!

Sean G.

Yelp
I was going to give a 3 but they make you try the wine before you pick. The measure was generous It's in a prime location beside powerscourt and the interior is in keeping with the setting. An impressive selection of cocktails, wine and spirits which include artisan gin. Staff very attentive. Start serving food in a few weeks around June.

Yelp
This new cocktail bar is decorated gorgeously, with a fun 1920s vibe. Jazzy remixes of popular songs set the mood, while the magnificent wall of liquor and rich wooden furniture make the ambience impressive. The cocktails themselves were good. The bartender had clear knowledge of the history of the bitters and the alcohols, but the quality of drinks is inconsistent based on who makes them. Overall, great environment with above average (and pricey) cocktails.

Yelp
F&D is getting a full 5 off me after the night I had in there this weekend. I wasn't sure of where to bring my friends (I was in charge of venue) but this trusty App aided me nicely. We didn't eat downstairs (lower ground floor) but we stayed in the bar on the ground floor section. It's a while since I've been out on a Saturday night, just drinking, and this was the perfect spot. The drinks are YUM - I stuck with Gin & Tonic, which came to a cool €9.60 a pop. Not the cheapest but it basically comes in a fish bowl with a stem, and some juniper berries floating about in it. I love a few good squeezes of lime in it too, and the car staff were happy to oblige. They were really friendly actually - and all very easy on the eye :) One of the main reasons I'm giving these guys such a glowing review, is the music. Whoever they have DJing needs to stay! The tunes were so so good and the mixing was spot on. Hence, the atmosphere made my drink a lot. Afraid to look at my bank balance today. And tomorrow no doubt. It was so worth it though. Can't wait to go back and bring more mates.

Yelp
While there's nothing really negative about the bar, there isn't really anything overly positive either. When I arrived, the bar was practically empty (not surprising to me, as it was the middle of the week). I greeted the bar tender and had a seat. Considering how calm the bar was, it took a considerable amount of time for the bartender to actually serve me. I had to seek out my own cocktail menu and go up to the bartender to order my drink (after waiting 5 minutes for him to arrive). When the cocktail did arrive, it was excellently made. The next time I'm in Dublin, I'll give the bar another shot, as I really enjoy a well-made cocktail with great service.

Yelp
Been here three times, gave it three chances but none of the experiences I've had here had lived up to expectations. The staff have gotten orders wrong, or I've ordered a drink and waited half an hour for it - even with reminding the wait staff, and this wasn't on a busy Saturday night but a marginally steady Saturday afternoon. The female manager gave the impression of being bossy and not especially nice, snapping orders at the wait staff who don't seem sufficiently trained - hence mixed up drinks orders. This place hasn't seemed to settle down yet. I won't be rushing back, the nearby Westbury is far superior for cocktails and service.

Niall M.

Yelp
Really great design and look for a bar/restaurant. But the service was really poor. Had to walk up to the bar to request a waitress come to our table after a 20 minute wait (despite there only being 4 other occupied tables at the time). After ordering, we received our food but one of the parties at our table had requested their dish without an ingredient but when it was served to him they explained it was pre-made and couldn't be removed. Frustrating as the waiter who took our order didn't know that. Then the waitress tried to convince us that you couldn't really taste what he asked to leave out and 'you'll be fine'. We didn't accept that and requested something else on the menu that they were happy to change. Food was ok, pretty standard and I couldn't tell you how the coffee is because it never arrived at all. Additionally took a further 20 mins to get the bill paid. Service here is exceptionally poor. I think this place has potential but the poor service really isn't worth the effort. This spot is more for a quick drink before moving on somewhere else. Bit of a miss.

Yelp
Went to Farrier & Draper for dinner before Christmas. The place is beautiful and service was exception. We couldn't get a booking on Opentable but we rang and got reservation through the hostess. The server and Maître were very welcoming and made sure we were well looked after. The place was busy with a lot of group bookings. The food was delicious. Liked the touch of the breads and oil to start. We got bruschetta with Goats Cheese, Prosciutto, Fig Jam to start. It was tasty and a good size for sharing. We both ordered the lasage it was rich, indulgent and filling. We moved to the bar where the chef works to finish our wine as they needed their table back. Here we got to meet the wonderful Chef Ricardo's and got to watch him action. He was very friendly and made the visit extra special. We weren't going to get a dessert but they looked so delicious that we had to indulge. We went upstairs for a drink afterwards but it was a bit too loud for us so we stayed for one and ventured elsewhere. One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin now and will definitely be back.
