Well I thought long and hard about whether to right this review. That said, I've decided to do so. I made several calls and several trips to this establishment and was just strong along being told by numerous people I would receive a call or email back regarding some items I was looking to sell to them. I never received any calls nor emails after numerous attempts to get ahold of the buyer. No luck! Huge waste of time if not for the off chance someone happened to see me leaving the store with all my items as they were on their way into the store. Long short of it is I ended up getting roughly $1,000.00 for the items I almost sold to this establishment had they ever responded back over my 2 weeks of daily attempts. So again, ended up being a blessing as I would have gotten significantly less surely had I sold them to this outfit for resale. But without that by chance sale I would have spent numerous hours for nothing as this establishment is very unprofessional regarding customer care and solid business practices pertaining to being assertive and accountable to their customer! Nice shop though. Lots of neat vintage wear for sale! The lack of responding back to their customer reviews says alot about the lack of giving a damn really! Best wishes however and hope it was just my experience and not the norm for this establishment!

Westside Storey is where history meets hometown pride. This shop has tons of local makers, from vintage vibes to fresh finds. I recently grabbed Chiefs and Royals gear here, great finds! Whether you’re hunting for unique gifts or just soaking in the neighborhood’s eclectic energy, this spot is a must-visit!

A fun place to browse and shop for Kansas City Local products!

I decided to hop online and see where Taylor got her vintage gear and placed an order Friday night. It was heading my way by Saturday morning and packaged beautifully. Amazing experience 🫶 Placed another order today for Super Bowl outfit because of how positive my first order went. I get so many compliments on my Redzone Taylor’s Version sweater it’s insane.

I came in due to the fact this store has been ALL over tiktok because of Travis & Taylor of course. I literally was only in town for a couple of days and this spot was the place I was MOST excited to visit. I walked in expecting it to be a nice welcoming environment like what i’ve heard about, but I was incredibly wrong. My mom & walked in and never was greeted or asked if we needed anything ( the place was also DEAD). Now I work in customer service, in a clothing store to beat it all to so I know how to treat customers. I also simply asked if the lady working if I could have the smaller size on the mannequin, she said she’d go see if they had it in the back. That’s fine , but when she returned she they didn’t and asked if I still wanted the shirt, I was like yes. It was a hassle for her to give me the shirt I felt like ? I also asked later while I was in the store if there was anymore sizes of another shirt in the back & she quickly snapped back no. After all of this I was just done with it and I got my items and left. I get we all have bad days , but you never let it affect your customer service…I get it I’ve been there. I’m sadden because I such high hopes for this store and if I’m ever back in KC I might come back…but this just left a bad taste in my mouth..

Google
So incredibly kind! Love this store! They treated us especially well when we went in there on my birthday while my daughter was recovering from her surgery. I got my favorite Chiefs shirt there!

Google
This store is so special! They have some of the neatest Kansas City swag available. The items and vendors have some pretty awesome stories behind them. One of the Associates took the time to tell us a neat story about a couple of hand-drawn posters. If you're into Kansas City items, you're going to build quite a wishlist: Charlie Hustle, KC Canning Co., among others. Check it out!

Yelp
In Kansas City, everyone has a friend who is obsessed with Kansas City. Maybe you are that friend. Westside Storey is where you go shopping for that friend. There are quite a few little stores in KC that specialize in KC merch/local goods, but Westside Storey is truly wall-to-wall love for KC. Lately, a lot of their merchandise leans towards the Chiefs, rather than KC, which I'm sure is great business, but there used to be more whimsical options like map puzzles and creative guide books. They have something for everyone - stickers, tshirts, patches, vintage items, local candles and more! A little on the expensive side. Parking in Westside can be a challenge at peak hours, but if you have to park a few blocks away, at least the walk through the neighborhood is extra cute!

Yelp
I recently visited this spot and being a lifelong Kansas Citian this was my first visit. The store has its own charm and features fantastic themed Kansas City clothing, graphics, and apparel. I spent about 30 minutes here taking a look at what all they have here. If you haven't been to this place before and love KC it's in a great part of town with its own charm.

Sarah G.

Yelp
It's not uncommon to happen upon a Kansas City themed boutique store these days, but I do appreciate how Westside Storey feels to be doing its own thing, and always is just oozing with that je ne sais quoi that makes shopping at any trendy spot oh so fun. Everytime I pop in here I spend at least 30 minutes because aside from carrying local goods from other makers, they have their own brand that they sell, and it's fun to see what new ideas they've come up with to support KC with. They also, especially in recent years, have grown a reputation as THE place for vintage sports gear in town. Even earning the attention of celebrities like Taylor Swift. The vintage wears here are not cheap, but they are well curated and legit. You don't have to spend a fortune to shop here though, they have tons of stuff for every budget, and if you are a fan of this city I'm sure you'll find something fun to take home with you.

Isabella D.

Yelp
Westside Storey has accumulated an amazing selection of KC themed items that is super fun to browse through. Nestled on a corner in the westside, it's a perfect place to go when you're looking for something specific or just want to browse. Im a sucker for some cute KC merch, and this place does it right.

Zabeth C.

Yelp
This place is the perfectly curated shop filled with cool KC graphic tees, Chief goods and cool vintage clothing and Knick knacks. It's more catered to men but I can see some of the clothing being unisex. If you're a fan of the sporty vintage look this place is for you. I think anyone who appreciates fashion will enjoy this place whether you are looking for a gift or shopping for yourself. The aesthetics are a 10/10.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Adorable little shop in a fantastic part of historic KC! T-shirt selection is just amazing! Great place to find a unique shirt to support the Chiefs or Royals! Things are a bit overpriced but still fun to look at! Some cool memorabilia from KU here and there around the store - been in a few times - looking forward to our next visit!

Jen H.

Yelp
Very cute shop in Westside and you are sure to find a unique gift for someone. However I felt like it was a little pricey for most of the items. And I know they are local made and fairly made but just seemed to have a higher mark up than some of the other local shops. They do have a great selection of Trapp Candles. There is a nice comfy couch for those that want to wait while you shop and it is a totally mellow coffee shop type vibe.

Ralphie S.

Yelp
I'm not sure which is more cool; the merchandise for sale or the vintage paraphernalia decorating this place. As a amateur license plate collector I was immediately blown away by the 1 thru 100 Kansas plate collection upon entering. Westside Storey is the retail embodiment of the new Kansas City with hip tee's and socks; art prints of all things Missouri and Kansas, political and sports swag, even candles and coasters. I was too overwhelmed and over budget to actually buy anything my 1st trip but will be returning to probably wipe out my Christmas shopping in one location.

Megan B.

Yelp
Adorable! This store is just so freaking cute. They've curated antiques with KC merch throughout the store and offer the perfect gift if you're visiting and want to take something home or if you live in KC and want to show your KC pride with some cute pins, stickers, Ts, hats, socks and other goodies. The man manning the store was so nice and grateful that we loved just stopping in.

Melissa R.

Yelp
~Wayfarer review~ T shirt theory: Cool people make cool t shirts, local pride implies that they are not trying to be some other city or something they are not, and great cotton implies comfortable/chill living. Sooooo whether I like a city, or not, is directly related to the t-shirts local shops sell. Not the stiff, boxy, tacky type t shirts like at the airport. I am talking the soft "I want to live in this cotton" type shirt with something unique to said city printed on it. This store is practically filled with just that. Awesome everyday wearing tees! There are shirts with local athletes, local colleges, KC, Made in KC onsies, Westside, and KC Loyalty tees. All are printed on premium cotton that feels and fits great! All are around $32 each. They also have a great sock collection, some antiques, jewelry, and other cool stuff. Awesome local merch in a cool neighborhood where locals and tourists can walk out with some good finds.

Bre E.

Yelp
amazing and unique selection with awesome vintage clothes and local sports gear! guy working was really nice and helpful. great atmosphere and great local business.

Cecilia C.

Yelp
Love, love Westside Storey. An array of local products offered here that brings a touch of modernity and vintage in one shop. I think that's one of my favorite things about this store. There's lots to attract one's eye, from shirts to soaps, to spices! The items here tend to be a little pricey, but that's how they'll all be wherever you find these local vendors. Overall, the store is pretty chill--workers included. Everyone just kind of leaves you alone to do your own exploring, which is what I prefer. When you do have a question, the staff is very helpful and genuine. They don't try to sell you on the products unless they truly believe in it. Westside Storey attracts all types of people, and it's because they have so many things that cater to everyone. Great store for gift giving, either to someone or to yourself :)! It's definitely a go-to store, and in a beautiful neighborhood.

Adam S.

Yelp
This is a great, fun to browse, KC-pride filled shop in the vibrant Westside neighborhood. You've got to love the Charlie Hustle shirts lining the shelves as you walked in. Somewhere around 2010, everyone FINALLY wised up to realize that t-shirts must be made on the softest, highest quality to be popular. No more of those scratchy, crappy, boxy t-shirts... these are the real deal. I'm partial to the KC Blades shirt as that was my "IHL" childhood hockey team that I wish was still around. Aside from the shirts, they have cool knick-knacks and some badass socks with pop from Sock 101, another KC company. I'll admit I always end up doing a bit more browsing than buying here because some of the things don't jump out enough for me to buy, but I always enjoy going in here with the hopes of finding something awesome.

Matt E.

Yelp
I still stand behind my love for this place, so this update is really just to keep you Yelpers in the loop. Primarily what you need to know is that two of the owners bought out the third, and it's vastly improved the store as a result. Gone are all the angel figurines, yard sale finds and other selections of questionable taste. Now the entire store is much better merchandised, with a much stronger point of view. The clothing section seems to have tripled in size, with a number of local t-shirt producers represented. They have a decent vintage selection, though it bums me out that the sizes all run small. For example, the largest size of denim that I noticed was a 30in waist. Not saying you need to cater to the large-and-in-charge of the community, but it was sad that nothing there would fit me even at my most fit. Still, if you go for shirts (or socks or etc), you can find something you'll like! The non-clothing side is still crazy legit. It's a good mix of quality antiques and locally produced housewares. Seriously, the people that operate this store have a good eye, and if you're in the mood to buy, you'll benefit from it.

Yelp
Traveling with a shopper but don't fancy one yourself? Westside Storey gets a 8 out of 10 on the Can I Keep Myself Distracted While The Better Half Browses scale. Excellent antiques and vintage gear that can integrate seamlessly to any modern hipster decor. From refurbished barn door mirrors and antler coat hooks to kitschy-cool camera kits and defunct weaponry (yes, man-boys, there are swords and guns), the inventory serves a base model for what Anthropologie fabricates anew and charges five times the price. You may spot a few KC-specific tchotchkes that look a little weird and mostly out-of-place upon the likely for-sale shelving. Yes, I'm looking at you $8 bag of shredded cash that's free at the Money Museum. And you, Royals hat with the tag still on it. Minor hometown quirks aside, the rest of the open layout shop is approachable, interesting and remarkably affordable, given their neighbors at UW are seeking mad cash for modern made and subtle sheek.

Nyla K.

Yelp
After lunch we decided to pop in here for a look. It's right down the street from west side local. I've never been here before and it's really a cool little shop. It has tons of KC gear specially Royals, which makes sense since we just won the World Series! I did manage to come across a Wichita state university tee too which was cool to see that even in a little local shop in KC you can find stuff from Wichita. The reason why I gave this three stars is because I can't really bring myself to dish out $32 for a tshirt, no matter what it says in it. There were some tees that I liked, but sadly they won't ever get the chance to hang ok my body, unless of course I received one for a gift. Nice place to browse though!

Tracy I.

Yelp
This place is like a man cave. A man cave that this chick would crash over and over again. It's got a funky cool, laid back vibe. Cool threads. Big fat manly couches that are fun to chill out on. Oh, and then there's a huge Trapp candle and fragrance display so there are a few feminine touches in here too! They carry some cool local brands (Charlie Hustle, etc. goods) all touting KC pride. We ended up buying two shirts. The staff was pretty inattentive the day we went. Guy basically looking at his iPhone while standing behind the register and texting the entire 20 minutes we were there. I didn't really mind however, as the shop isn't the kind where people hover over you asking if you need help. Selection is fairly limited so everything is right there in front of you and easy to find. There are some awesome brass figures and mini statues to admire while you're there. I'm especially keen to the bulldog.

Rachel P.

Yelp
What a fun shop! I enjoy the mix of locally made items - with a few vintage pieces scattered around. The staff is always friendly, although not overly excited when you walk in. I get the impression it's more about not wanting to be too much like the Buckle in 1999 and meet you at the door... Anywho. The selection of stuff is great - their in-house designed tshirts are my favorite, with a large selection of Charlie Hustle and Socks 101. There are also framed prints and jewelry, too. It is a great place to pop in for a quick gift or a treat for yourself. Prices are in line with other local places, yet this is tucked into the neighborhood and seems to be a little more relaxed. I get compliments on the stuff I have gotten from there and will go back for gifts for the holidays.

Lyndsey S.

Yelp
A cool spot in the Westside with tons of KC apparel, antiques, vintage jewelry, and home decor. They carry both Pickwick and Trapp candles. It's on the corner so easy to find. They sell local artists' work and have great vintage Ts as well. The staff is friendly and it's a mellow vibe so they're definitely not pushy. I recommend this to anyone who wants to find a gift..for others or themselves!

Charley B.

Yelp
The Westside Storey is a beautiful little store that has found the perfect way to mix the local, modern and vintage themes that run through the area. You'll find locally-themed and sourced clothing, antiques, art and even some food accessories sitting next to each other as you make your way from one side to the other. There's literally something for everybody in here. What really jumped out at me was the amount of older vintage sports-memorabilia. I saw a number of mid-80s Royals-related as well as 60s and 70s Chiefs items including programs, caps, shirts, belt buckles and even some art. I also liked the display of "KC" picture and coaster art that was tucked back into a corner. They also have an "Easy Tiger," card machine on display and ready to go if you're looking for a If you're looking for something special, that's a little different from the norm and off the beaten path then I highly recommend stopping by and browsing through the Westside Storey. Chances are you'll find what you're looking for.

Yelp
Westside Storey on the Hill is always a GoTo when needing sum Serious KC Gifts for friends & family. LuV bring my people's from out of town here to check out all the KC Swag and all the collectibles they have in this awesome shop of Goodies!! Coasters, ArtWork, T-shirts, Candle's, pins, Bobbleheads, they's got what U need for your private stash or a gift item for sum1 Special. Definitely Worth the Visit !

Mikala A.

Yelp
This store is so special! They have some of the neatest Kansas City swag available. The items and vendors have some pretty awesome stories behind them. Yelp
Awesome store to get local Kansas goodies. While in Kansas, the Royals won the World Series and I tried to come here to get something to celebrate the win. Everything sold out, but I really enjoyed browsing the store. Very neat and original items. Very well organized. Fun to shop here!

Jenn C.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to visit for months since I first saw WSS on Instagram, and it was well worth the trip. Awesome place for all things KC. Lots of cute t-shirts, hats, stickers, keychains, etc., All sorts of KC merchandise along with Royals and Chiefs wear as well. I got a Kansas City Honey tee, and it's really nice and good quality. Although the shop is a little pricey, it's worth the money. If you want some awesome KC merch, this is where you'll find it.

Jamie V.

Yelp
This little store on the Westside is on point. Fun mix of antique-y things with goods from local vendors (I.e. Charlie Hustle tees and tanks, candles from Trapp fragrances, etc). Some of my other faves ar the KC-themed prints/artwork for sale, and a large selection of coasters featuring pictures of various KC landmarks. Like other reviewers have said, Westside Storey is more man cave than girly, but I never have a problem finding multiple items that "need" to come home with me. This place is the shiz!

Tiffany U.

Yelp
Such a cute shop with a great selection of local KC goodies. We came in specifically looking for the KC heart shirts, but unfortunately, our sizes were unavailable. Shout out to TIMOTHY for his awesome customer service! He recommended for us to check online and gave us these stickers with a coupon on the back. On top of that, he even shared his cheese slipper from Fervere Bakery across the street! I'm not sure if he knew, but he definitely made 5 Cali girls' day!

N B.

Yelp
What a great addition to a great neighborhood. Unfortunately you won't find Rita Moreno, the Sharks or the Jets here because that's an entirely different West Side Story! Yet again, maybe there is a playbill around this antique store hidden amongst some other great vintage finds. It's a great open space filled nicely but not too full. It's easy to walk around and look. It's not strictly an antique store as there are plenty of brand new pieces mixed in here and there. I like that, but if you were hoping for just piles of antiques, you may be a little disappointed. They are open until 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays which is super cool because it has allowed us to stop in before or after dinner while in the neighborhood. Everytime we have done the Fervere/Little Freshie cheese slipper Saturday night special, Westside Storey has been open allowing us to use three corners of a fantastic intersection in one of our city's bumping neighborhoods.

Jason M.

Yelp
The other review are spot-on. West side Storey is a well curated antique store, but prices are inflated and the customer experience is lacking. Call and make sure they're open! If you look at their door, yelp, google plus, google, or call the number, or talk to the people in the shop, you'll get that many different store hours! According to most sources, Westside should have been open at 10am yesterday, but didn't actually open till 1215pm. If a business is only open 3-4 days a week, they better be there! There is a white cow hide for sale that has a 2" hole in it for $1300! There is no story on the tag, telling me why this cow hide is worth $500 more than any other cow hide I've seen. All it say is literally "Cow Hide $1300." When I ran a retail shop, the best advice someone gave was to have lots of $20 items...perfect price point for impulse buys and gifts. There is not much for under $20 in this shop; even the tshirts are $30. I found at least two item with their original store tags on them...a globe with the original Pottery Barn $40 price sticker, and no price tag from Westside. And a candle holder with a tag from Marshall's. There were also a few items on the sales floor without price tags. These are rookie mistakes. While we were shopping, a lady was in hawking her wares to the guy running the store. She had a big bag full of what-not and she was trying to get him to buy stuff. This should be handled by appointment and not when customers are in the store. He paid zero attention to the customers in the store and all his attention to this lady and her mess she was making at the counter.

Neeca B.

Yelp
So much to covet but I must pace myself due to the hefty $ signs. I asked if they ever did sales, maybe, but the impression was no. They are a local business offering some other local goods. Like my fave the KC T-SHIRTS. I believe they are geared more towards the fellas than the gals in their offerings. That being said lots of good gift ideas for the fellas but the ladies won't luck out here either with candles, apparel, and a lil local art. I noticed the hours on yelp were in fact not the same as the store hours. They are in fact next to one of my faves Chez Elle, that's how I discovered them. Don't make the mistake of judging this book by its cover, by no means is the outside telling of what's inside this hipsterish, trendyish, slightly eclectic hub. its been around for a couple years and it really fits in will with what is becoming a one stop destination for food, drinks, hair cut/legit mustache care and shopping. well done fellas you've one up't the neighbor hood.

Cate C.

Yelp
The Westside Storey has a nice selection of antiques, albeit at a hefty price. My biggest complaint, though, was the service this morning. When we walked in we were not greeted but instead a woman, speaking very loud on the phone, walked out of the back room... Still on the phone. She continued to talk loudly in the phone the whole 15 minutes we were in the store (again, loudly) about ordering flowers. When we had a question about an item I (the customer!) felt rude about asking it because she was clearly busy with something in her personal life. When she finally did respond to my question she didn't even tell the person on the phone to hold for a second while she spoke with a customer. In a day and age where customer service is an important key to small businesses succeeding (especially when they are the same as others down the street), I expected more. If we hasn't met the owner when they first opened (a very friendly and energetic person) I would say 0 stars for customer service. Again, the selection is actually really good and we were disappointed rack holding the tshirts isn't for sale (it was when first opened). In summary: expect to pay a little more for the antiques but they seem of quality... Just don't expect good customer service.

Allyson B.

Yelp
This place is cool as hell. It's the ultimate vintage tee/vintage finds/man cave store in Westside. The tees selection is pretty impressive. They have all kinds of super soft vintage tees with old KC sports teams logos and KC logos as well. I actually bought a few since I had so much trouble deciding which to get! The one down side to Westside Storey are the prices-- these tees are not cheap! In addition to the tees they also have some vintage finds, candles, coasters, and few other things. I noticed that they had a good selection of vintage cuff links, watches, and sunglasses at the front desk. Definitely worth giving that a look if you're trying to find a unique gift for the special man in your life ;) -- or your dad. Teehee.

Kristi B.

Yelp
Great browsing, local products, fun antiques. Owner is usually THERE, which is awesome. I can always find something as a gift for friends in KC, or farther afield. From Civil War kitsch, to Adventure Time-themed local prints, antique clocks, to locally handmade soaps, there is something for just about anyone here. GO!

Zach G.

Yelp
Westside Storey is a neat little shop with some neat things! I'm not huge in to antiques, but luckily they're only partially an antique store. My favorite thing might have been the stone coasters, each with a picture of a different KC scene. Awesomely local. Various other decorations, pieces of art, and antique goodies adorned the full but not overly cluttered store. Want a statue of a rattlesnake for your house? They have it. In fact, they have two! I even think I saw a signed Sporting KC jersey... All that being said, as mentioned in a previous review, the prices do seen steep. Those coasters were $25 for 4 of them! I also wasn't greeted or acknowledged at any point in my 5 minute visit. Customer service needs to be huge in a local store, and it didn't seem to be here. That unfortunately makes me knock a star off.

Amy C.

Yelp
Tasteful selection of vintage items and locally made goods (lots of cool T-shirts, soaps, candles, coasters, artwork, jewelry, etc). The staff were helpful and friendly. I look forward to many more visits in the near future.

Joshua O.

Yelp
If you're ready to deck your house, or yourself, out w/KC swag, this is your stop. i could go on about the merchandise, but check it out for yourself. you may not be disappointed.

Keegan W.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. They offer a perfect selection of merchandise from local artisans, Charlie Hustle clothing and accessories, and the most amazing antiques. I bought my dad, who has lived in KC his whole life and loves baseball, an old school ceramic Royals bobble head, and there were TEARS (he'd die if he knew I shared this with the world). I also come here to find more unique KC merchandise than most local stores have to offer. I love everything about the aesthetic, the music, and the staff as well.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Great balance between old and new. Not sure if the vintage decor is for sale however its' stocked with KC clothing, artisan soap, tiled coasters, shaving brushes, sunglasses, socks, and other accessories. Not cheap however would be a nice place to find a gift with local flare.

Kim P.

Yelp
Very unique KC handmade - local stuff - mostly for guys who manscape. Really friendly staff. Support the arts - buy local - do it here and feel good. Where can you get a cool t shirt, fun socks AND local preserves? You can here.

Rachel E.

Yelp
5-stars and major props to Westside Storey for supporting locally made products. This little shop is nestled in a cool area of town, near other hot spots like Novel, Chez Elle, and The Westide Local. They've got the perfect merchandise if you are looking for a unique gift (or a little something awesome for yourself, too). They have plenty of threads, candles, antiques and other KC goods. I ended up snagging a really great t-shirt, and have already received tons of compliments on it.

Jacob P.

Yelp
Very cool store... Lots of unique items. I like how much KC stuff they have. I hate Charlie Hustle t-shirts though. The hours aren't what you'd think for this place. Check before you go. I made that mistake. You'd think they'd be open around lunch until like 9 or so given the location but they aren't that smart. If I had a store near a bunch of hot restaurants, I'd have my hours the same as theirs.

CM S.

Yelp
Great place!!! Love the Kansas/Missouri merchandise! Nice people who run the store!!

Yelp
I fell in love with this place today. I loved the love of KC vibe in there and the nod to local companies. I got several things and will go back again to get even more. I loved it and can easily say it's my new favorite KC store.

Yelp
The website and sign on the door state that the store opens at 10am on Sunday. It's 10:25 and there is nobody here and doesn't look like there will be anytime soon. What a disappointment. Looks like they won't be getting any of my money. 1 star is generous considering I wasn't able to experience the store based on what appears to be carelessness on the part of the staff and management.

Yelp
I ordered a shirt and a pair of socks off the website.. few days passed items did not show, so I emailed got a immediate repsonse from Clint who was more than accomodating! He explained to me why this occured, then out of left field he went above and beyond.. refunded the total amount and still sent my items--customer service is a lost art to most, but not these guys.
