Updated review: thank you for responding, I swung by to give it another look and I’m very glad I did. My first review was about the shop next door. Yep I’m an idiot. Now the real store is a treasure as described, with lovely pieces of Irish art and crafts from all over the island. I bought a few things. The shopping atmosphere is quiet and peaceful and the staff were warm and welcoming. Sorry for my mistake! Original review: Cute store but nothing really Irish about it. I was hoping for more.

I’ve purchased some incredible things over the years in Irish Design Shop. The team are always incredibly helpful and great to speak with. It’s refreshing to see the grá that they all have for what they do and the support they give the Irish design & craft community. It’s the perfect place to pick up some unique gifts or a treat for yourself. It’s a huge shame to see the challenges that they are seeing on Drury street that they have been an integral part of for years. I picked up this beautifully framed Strangford print from them recently and I’m delighted with it. To all the team in Irish Design Shop… keep doing all the good things you’re doing xxx

Really excellent selection of contemporary Irish craft, lovingly chosen by the owners, who are themselves craft makers. True supporters of Irish culture, I never fail to find something I love in this shop. Their own studio range of jewellery is wonderful - great quality and contemporary designs.

This lovely shop is full of thoughtfully selected Irish arts and crafts, and every member of staff is knowledgeable and helpful. It’s my first and last stop in Dublin for gifts for others (and for myself) and I really appreciate the way they support and promote small Irish makers. Don’t miss it!

Regular customer for the past 3 years! I love every single handmade ceramics, the riso prints, the colourful macrames, the throws from Donegal, the wooden bowls and more... at Irish Design Shop. Incredible choices. Great quality. I strongly recommend. So far the best team too 🥰

Love this shop - such a great collection of Irish products supporting other Irish businesses. Bought one of their beautiful bracelets for my wedding and adore it. Love that they're supporting culture other than drinking in the streets too. Chin up.

I have been coming back to this wonderful, warm, exquisite shop now on 6 years, and it gets better every time. So many treasures in my home from here, and I’ve given dozens of gifts purchased here. I adore the staff, and the owners, Clare and Laura. They’re just lovely. Highly recommend a visit on line or at Drury Street, and can’t wait for my next pop-in.

I bought most of the local Irish gifts for my friends in here. You should expect a little higher prices but they pick very high quality products and designs. It was my "cup of tea", there was everything I like - illustrations, cosmetics, design products, books.

Yelp
Just a bit up from the proper Temple Bar area is this shop, and I stepped in as am a big fan of Irish design and craftsmanship. I really like the half-gloves that gave easy access to phones, but there were a bit pricy, so didn't purchase. Also gorgeous leather satchels, but I'm trying to not buy stuff I really don't need so resisted their temptation too! Went upstairs and got a really cool surprise! Laura Caffrey, a jewelry designer was working away and so had a lovely time chatting with her. She showed me these beautiful Silver & Enamel bowls (starting price is €410)!! that are also made by another artisan, and these were just so unreal looking! I coveted but might have to win that lotto to be able to buy one! If in the area, and have some spare time, stop in and speak to the artist and support local Irish crafts!! Yelp 98/ 2019

Yelp
I love The Irish Design Shop as I think everything they stock is well considered and of a really high quality. They have a wide range of products from homeware to books and beautiful works of art. It's a small shop and unlike a lot of small Irish shops is not packed to the roof with stuff. Everything is very well laid out and it is nearly like a little gallery. They have a really nice range of alternative Irish crafts and most of them are not what you would think of as traditional Irish things. The books range they have is great with some really different titles about the history of Dublin. I want to buy all of these !!! My favourite thing is the art - they have some beautiful drawings of Irish nature like birds and foxes and have some very cool laser cut pictures of Dublin landmarks like the Ha'penny bridge and the big chimneys. If I ever leave Dublin I will be taking some of these back to Brazil with me. I met the owners at a Yelp event last year and they are really great and promote Irish craft really well and in a non-cheesy "Oirish" way - #DublinShopsLocal

Yelp
Five star review for Anna, who was an absolute sweetheart when I stopped in for a visit! Unique products designed by Ireland-based makers/artists. Products rotate, but there's a wide variety available. When I stopped in there were scarves, hats, candles, felt placemats, jewels and the like. Definitely stop in if you're looking for something cool and/or unusual for yourself or your home!

Yelp
Great new discovery! Well, it's not new, as according to their website, this shop has been around for a while, but I only found out yesterday. I've walked past Bow lane probably million times but clearly never looked to the left. The shop is a bit hidden but it's smack in the centre and definitely worth a visit. As the name implies, the shop sells Irish designs. Here you'll find funky wallpapers and very cool prints, patterned scarves, gun badges, limited edition books, greeting cards and one-off pieces like the awarded tableware collection by Laura Caffrey. All these pretty things come with a price though but you just have to look at it as an investment. Investing in art, investing in Irish talents, investing in the future.

Yelp
Adorable little shop filled with prints, trinkets and ceramics made in Ireland. Staff is friendly and helpful and this would be a great place to snag a quick gift for someone special.

Yelp
This shop must be new, or else, I have been grossly overrating my powers of perception and observation to my friends. I really like design and industrial design and if I wasn't a pro-man about town, I think I would consider learning how to do it. I'm the type to want to live in a house with an Eames chair and a Herbert Terry angle-poise lamp. So, as you might imagine I got quite giddy when I spotted this oh so humble and unassuming shop front. The Irish Design Shop is a miniature, urban Avoca hand weavers. They have ultra contemporary collection of print cushions, jewellery, t-shirts, post cards and pottery, all with an Irish flavour. The shop is secondary to the store concept which revolves around the inclusion of a workshop in the back inviting a visiting designer will work for a period of a 'few weeks'. This is reflected in the floor-space, very little of this is designated for the shop, most is the workshop giving the feel of being a gallery from which to watch a designer work. Interesting concept, n'est pas? So, four stars for the Irish Design Shop, I'm sure when they get up and running they'll earn the fifth star.

Yelp
Irish Design Shop is a great spot for shopping for prezzies or for yourself. I've featured it on my blog and in free-lance work in the past but hadn't been in a while so it was great to revisit on Yelps #DublinDesignNight - the shop was open and featured their newest collections focusing on Ireland - upstairs you could visit the workshop, a place where workshops take place and where you can design and make your own jewellery - check out their website for the full details. In the heart of the creative quarter Irish Design Shop is a must visit

Yelp
Great little shop! Purchased some lovely gifts made by Irish designers makers: Irish wild flowers notecards and an adorable children's book.

Yelp
Do NOT buy from this store. They are not sending out ordered and paid for merchandise. WARNING WARNING...

Yelp
This is a lovely little shop which is fab for stylish/crafty gifts at a variety of different price points. I'm not sure if their stock is exclusively from Irish designers, but I would hope so, given the name! They have wonderful pottery, books, prints and cards I want to wallpaper my flat with and various woven goods. They feel they could do with sourcing a wider variety of products, but given the space I think there's a nicely curated selection. Support Irish craft and get beautiful items to boot!

Quentin D.

Yelp
I really want to say this place is a one-stop shop for hand made irish gifts but to be honest, it feels like there is something lacking - stock I think. It is a bit too spartan, and what is there is not immediately appealing.

Denise M.

Yelp
I loved this little shop! It is tiny but it has a nice selection of items. I do understand why some folks have mentioned that it's a little light on stock but I still managed to find a lovely pair of fingerless gloves that I couldn't live without. I'll be sure to stop in again the next time I'm in town!

Marie A.

Yelp
This is a gem of a shop! I wanted to look for locally made crafts to get as a keepsake and souvenir of our trip and it was hard to choose! Beautiful jewellery, cute cards, gorgeous textiles and pottery. Could have spent hours browsing!

Yelp
I really enjoy having a nose around inhere every once in a while. Top quality stuff. I purchased a really nice Irish made stool in here and I love its quirkiness. I like the atmosphere in the shop. You get a feeling the people here are passionate about design. The staff are lovely.

Yelp
This is a carefully curated shop for higher end Irish designers. I fell in love with one of Pierce Healy's pendants here; I'm feeling lucky to have discovered his work here.
