Philanthropy is never disdained. Therefore, I suggest the owner allow partial use of the property by the city and residents. They can book events and use a part of the property for local events. It would be easy enough for the city hall to be involved, set up a schedule of available dates and impose a cleanlng fee and/or deposit of use. The owner could also give public tours showing the art and architecture used, and help bring tourism to this lovely town of Grasse. The Fragonard company has done an admirable and beautiful job of combining a business with public welfare by their museums and art exhibits. Why not continue that tradition instead of destroying something and wasting all of the resources that went into its construction? I understand that the owner is in a position that, to the French people, smacks of elitism. It will be difficult for the Mairie to command anything except destruction to appease the sense of justice and equality that has been attacked. So, everyone, come up with a solution like the one I have proposed!

It seems a great pity to destroy this fairytale Villa. I have only seen it from the TV series but it is so beautiful and looks to have been designed by a true artist. Surely it would be possible to come to an accommodation by making amends to the commune and perhaps setting restrictions on how late the parties can go on.

There is a famous example that points out: Justice is a good thing, but not for me (justice must be done for the neighbor). If this villa belonged to me and I heard such comments about it, would I consider it fair? In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, man has encountered two problems: 1- Population increase. 2- Unfair distribution of wealth. You did not see such things years ago. Despite its size, the planet has become a small place to live. Control the rapid growth of the population (especially in underdeveloped countries) and balance the growth of wealth and its distribution. Demolition of this villa is not the solution. When you demolish this one, several more villas are being built elsewhere.

We had a lot of doubts before doing a reservation since the owner has huge legal issues with this property. We have a 20% deposit from a 3 days event which was suppose to happen 3 weeks ago. The owner Mr Patrick Diter is a crook. He cancelled last minute blaming it on the Covid and no Baws of the refund since then. This person doesn’t respond anymore to our emails. Stay away from this very shady individual!

What a shame it would be to demolish this masterpiece. Perhaps it could be donated to France and used as an art museum and public gardens??

This is a beautiful example of being free and do what you want with your property. I like this way of thinking!!👍🏽
