"After closing his upscale Mediterranean restaurant, Miel, for lockdown last fall, Hakim Chajar — 2014 winner of Quebec reality-TV cooking show Les Chefs! — relaunched his Pointe-Saint-Charles space as Rubie’s, a casual gluten-free-fried-chicken takeout operation. It quickly garnered a following for its crispy free-range local birds in KFC-style buckets with skinny fries and array of sauces, from foie gras to barbecue to ranch."

The fried chicken is very tasty! Not greasy and the quality of the meat is really good. Also, their customer service is excellent! We had an issue with our order, but they went above and beyond to fix the issue and make sure we were satisfied with our experience. Thank you Rubie’s!

This is the same resto as Miel, same chef. When you go inside to pick up your order you can smell the food, yum. Got the Frenchie trio burger take out (10-15 mins to be ready) , absolutely delicious! The fries are matchstick (skinny fries) with nice seasoning on it.

Chicken was way over salted, almost inedible. We got the BBQ sauce and honey mustard both weren't good and had use our own. Cole slaw was missing. The quality of the chicken however was high and the fries were nice.

Best fired chicken I ever had ! Their breading recipe is bomb ! It's always super crunchy and it's not greasy at all, the chicken itself is also super moist 👌 I would eat there every day if I could ☺️

Ordered from Rubie's and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the fried chicken, sandwiches, & poutine. Portions were extremely generous and justified the prices. Everything was fresh and crispy. I was particularly impressed by the poutine sauce which had a nice hint of foie gras. Five stars, no questions asked.

Disclaimer: I haven't even been to this restaurant (yet) but had a phone conversation with the chef. I was calling for reservations, and he gave me a thorough and complete description of the menu. He is passionate about his food. I was salivating over the phone! I can't wait to try out Rubie's but 5 stars for the Chef Hakim's PR and sincere devotion to his craft.
