Riad Hotels in the Old Medinas of Morocco

"We’ve got nothing against riads owned by foreigners, but it’s a mark in Riad Fès’s favor that its owner is Moroccan, and an architect, no less — the interiors are a good bit more confident than in the average riad hotel, and you can tell it was laid out with some care. It’s on the large size for a riad, but the intimate atmosphere and personalized service riad hotels are famous for are there, in spades." - Mark Fedeli

"To learntraditional Moroccan home cooking, look no further than Café Clock, where Souad will verse you in the essential flavors and techniques of local cuisine so you can take an authentic taste of Morocco back with you. In a comfortable kitchen above the café, you’ll prepare a three-course lunch featuring traditional soups and salads, tagines or couscous, patisserie and bread. If you want to delve into what modern Moroccan cooking looks like, head to Dar Namir. Classes for groups of two to four people are held in aprivate courtyard kitchen and dining room, andthefocus is on dishes for entertaining—like chicken, olive, and preserved-lemon briouats (crunchy parcels) with a harissa-and-mint dipping sauce, or lamb marinated in souk spices and slow-roasted on a bed of fennel. Five dishes are made and devoured by the class, along with a tasting oftwo boutique Moroccan wines."

We stopped in for a quick afternoon meal and a coffee. The selection of eight Moroccan vegetable dishes was especially good. Service was excellent, and the outdoor space was nicely decorated and quiet. Prices a little steep for Morocco, but not excessively so.

The roof top terrace barb with Anwar is spectacular and not to be missed. Anwar is an excellent bartender. Attentive smart friendly and basically can read your mind. He made our experience one of the best after a fabulous day. Thank you to Mohammed for bringing us to the wonderful respite.

From start to finish, our stay at Riad Fes was exceptional. We arrived by train and arranged for a driver to pick us up from the station. absolutely worth the small extra cost and highly recommended for an stress-free arrival. Be mindful that people will target you getting off the train. Walk to exit and look for driver with your name on sign. Ignore everyone else. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. You’re made to feel like royalty. We debated between several “luxury” riads in the Medina, and Riad Fes truly exceeded our expectations. It’s worth every penny. stop researching and just book it. - Stephen

My family’s stay at this Riad was beyond memorable. All the 4 of us loved every detail of the Riad. The staff couldn’t be more professional or nicer and to name a couple Anwar and Aya. The location was perfect allowing us to access the Old Town as was the rest. The decoration was breathtakingly beautiful and authentic. We were upgraded to an amazing room on the roof top. Breakfast, the bar,the dining were excellent. Would highly recommend it to everyone visiting Fez.

A real gem of a riad well located for walking to the souks. Our driver dropped us off at a gate and the riad staff walked us to the riad reception. It was a short but complicated walk initially but once we memorized the 'right right left left right' directions it was easy to navigate.|The riad was very upscale. Room was spacious and comfortable. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant had great ambiance. Both breakfast and dinner were superb.

Hidden gem in a mystical and memorable Medina. Roof top bar has sweeping views of the old Medina dating back 1200 years to the late 700s AD. The restaurant serves French fine dining as well as traditional Moroccan fare. Elevated and luxurious.
