Feel like I should have known about this spot sooner. No food options but a fantastic beer selection. A few of the local food spots will deliver to this location. A great spot to meet up with friends for a beer and try something new.

How did I not know they've been around for 12 years?! Extensive and well curated tap list. No food. And almost no stools. That last one is a bit of an issue but we had a great time. Both bartenders were extremely knowledgeable. Will hit this place often.

These guys are so knowledgeable about beer their recommendations are always on point! They have a great selection and run some amazing deals on Thursdays for local beer! The shop is well organized, and clean. If you're a fan of beer you have to check this place out!

Great place as an alternative to going to a bar! Premium Draught has many different options for craft beer from many local breweries as well as others across the US. My go to is usually one of their IPAs, and they always have something interesting to try. Grab a pint of your second choice while waiting for your growler to be filled.

Small shop with a great selection. What really stood out to me was how organized everything was. All the beers were separated by type (i.e. IPA, lager, seasonal, etc.). I came in here to shop for someone with specific preferences so this was tremendously helpful. Additionally, each beer was labeled with a clear price tag (everything is sold individually). They have supplies to make your own six-pack (cardboard containers as well as plastic caps). The service was excellent too -- friendly and helpful. The only negative I can think of is the lack of parking. Tiny lot. There are only 5-minute spots in front of the beer shop (two of them, I believe). The rest of the parking lot is claimed by other businesses. Thankfully, there is ample parking available on the residential streets nearby. Highly recommended for your craft beer needs!

Stopped by here during a work trip to Houston recently to pick up a couple beers. Great selection, and the guy working that night was extremely helpful (forgot to get his name, but guessing it's Johnny from all the other reviews here). He saw the IPAs I was considering, and came over to recommend one. Great pick. Will definitely swing by next time i'm in town

Great neighborhood growler refills and craft beer emporium. Jon is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

Although it doesn't need any repeating after looking at the reviews, I'm still going to, This place is great!! Awesome customer service and such a great selection of beer. The employees are so helpful and never rush you and also, they are more than happy to make any suggestions depending on your taste. The growler exchange system is pretty simple. You pay a one time $6 deposit for the growler plus the cost of filling it. The cost will vary anywhere from $12-20-ish bucks for the fill since it depends on which beer you get. I love the fact that they offer lots of beers from local breweries. We've personally had a growler filled with beers from 8th Wonder, Eureka, Town In City, Under the Radar and Brash. They also have fridges stocked with a variety of beer to fit any taste palette. If you want to sample any of the beers on tap, the employees will let you try them out until you find a winner. When you go in, they have a chalkboard "menu" on the wall of what they're rotating that day and have the prices listed accordingly. I do know that they offer kegs as well but we haven't gone that route yet lol **Make sure to enter your phone number at the till. You collect a "star" for each purchase and 10 stars gets you 15% off :) Parking is a hot mess just like most places in the area but spots open up frequently. If you haven't been here yet, just do yourself and favor and try it out.

I was keg searching and realized I've never left a review. Jonny makes this place go and his customer service is top notch. The people he hires in my experience all go the extra mile. I made a passing suggestion about a beer the next time I came, they had ordered from multiple breweries I mentioned. If you have any home brewery needs or just like good conversation and a brew it's a place to go.

I had accidentally stumbled into this joint going to Antidote coffee next door. I have always wondered if there was a shop in Houston that sold beer and beer accessories. This place is a retail store that sells a healthy selection of craft beers from across the country. I saw some beers from New Braunfels all the way to Atlanta. The owner made sure to let me know that this place was a retail store and not a place to serve beer. There was chalkboard on the wall listing the beers they had on tap to sell. All you have to do is grab a growler and fill it up. Wish this place was bigger and had more selection. But overall love the feel of it. Prices aren't the cheapest, but you gotta pay a premium for good draught (heh see what i did?) Wish it had better parking, had to park in front of a million dollar home down the street.

The sad reality is that I was not impressed with this place the first time I waltzed in. Call it pure ignorance because I didn't know about their awesome growler program. First off, they have some quality beers, but the seriously best reason to drop by is for what they have on tap/draft. There are several local beers available, and they'll put them into a growler (which they charge you but will refund on its return). They also give great advice on what beer might best suit you and provide small samples for ones on draft. Pretty cool selection. Go next door to Antidote before or after for a coffee, then have a drink. I was thrilled to see that they carried Eureka Heights. Very cool and a small place to hang out. They are constantly switching out their beers, so keep an eye on their website for what is available. It's an awesome place and worth a visit.

What a neat place! They have a few brews on tap for you to sample! You can get a growler of whatever you like! The guy helping us was super knowledgeable and we brought home a Java Stout that was ridiculously good! They have so many awesome craft beers!

I was referred to this place by brew supply store nearby. They didn't have a part I needed and said to call Premium Draught! Johnny was, as they say, Mister On The Spot! He had the part I was asking for. However he also had questions; the right kind. He asked about my situation and setup in a way that let me know he is well versed in the field of Draft Beer! My setup got his approval. He asked me about my kegs and how I was ordering. After sometime talking and him doing some digging on his computer; he found me a 1/2keg of a specialty brew I have been hunting for and told would be a difficult order in all places. Not only that, but the price was comparable to that of any 1/4 prices I had been quoted. The order was ready in just a few days. I made an early stop by the shop to pick it up. Johnny wasn't there for me to thank in person. But that wasn't the end for him and I...! No, Johnny called me several hours later making sure I got my keg, he had some special tips for pressure settings for it. And here's the big kicker; he noticed that I was charged just a smidge incorrectly and refunded my card to the correct price. I hadn't noticed; it really was a smidge. Premium Draught = Quality, Courtesy, Competence, and Actual Care!!! Love this place!!!

Wives and Girlfriends...if you ever needed a convincing reason to get your man to move to the Heights..this is it ..."PREMIUM DRAUGHT." It is probably every mans dream to have a place like this streets away. Luckily for my husband it is. What a gem to have in the Heights. If you love craft beer or just love beer period, this is your spot. The Super friendly, uber knowledgable, beer loving staff is super happy to help you find the perfect beer for you. How does it work: Pay a deposit for the Growler and choose the beer you want. Come back and do it all over again. They also have refrigerators lining the wall with a billion different beers from German to local they got it. How do I know this place is awesome: Sit outside Antidote (next door) for an hour on Saturday afternoon and watch how many people come in/out. It is impressive. Why should you visit Premium Draught?: 1. You should feel lucky it is in your neighborhood and support local shops. 2. It's cool to say you get beer in a Growler on your way home from work. 3. The staff are super cool nice guys. Now go and visit...you will be glad you did.

7 years later I'm still getting beer from Premium. Still one of the best places to get a fill in the city. Love the new bar expansion with 16 oz crowler options too. The bottle and can selection is also outstanding. You can tell they put a lot of effort into their selections. Owner Johnny is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Great beer knowledge but still very approachable with questions from beginners. Doesn't give you the hipster attitude you'll find at many craft beer places. I moved outside the loop but it's still worth the drive to the heights. Good service, fair prices, knowledgeable staff

They had a good selection of bottled beer, but I was more interested in the draft beer to take home. They have a dozen beers on tap, and you can sample them. These beers are listed on their website, so you can do your research before you go. For $6, you can take one of their growlers, and just swap it out every time you come back for a clean one. You can also just return it and get your $6 back. The prices to fill up a 64oz growler range between about $12 and $19 depending on the beer. The place had a friendly, chill vibe, and they were willing to answer all my questions. I did their $6 deal and bought the $13 Dallas Blonde Ale rounding out my bill to $20.

I am a self proclaimed "regular" of this amazingly convenient establishment. I truly appreciate the ever rotating selection of beer and the above & beyond, kind, and thoughtful customer service I receive on every visit. I made a special request to the owner that he carry the 1 Liter sized Delirium Tremons, and he made it happen. Thank you thank you thank you! Y'all are the best!

My No.1 place to fetch my beer, specially for the kegs, but they also keep a good selection in cans/bottles and a good variety on tap to fill out your growler. I usually make a call asking of a specific keg, they order it for me, then call me when is ready at the store (they tell the wait is about a week but has never taken more than a few days) and keep it cold until I get it. What else can I ask for? I think their service is great! They are as nice as it gets and will give you advice or answer your questions about the beers they offer or about equipment and accessories. I'm lucky to live close to their location.

I have visited the Houston area twice and given this place a chance Each time...You'd be better off visiting a local krogers than this place. Horrible customer service, avoid this place at all cost!!!!

My wife and I just moved into the Heights neighborhood and we're 'all in' on Premium Draught, which occupies a small, but cute space on Studewood next to Antidote. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about local beers. There are usually about 10 local/regional beers of various styles on tap for sampling, pints, or growlers. There are also tastings on Friday evenings. The fridges are stocked with local, regional, national, and international beers, many of which you won't find at most local grocery stores. You can cobble together your own mix-n-match 6-pack, which is great.

"You must love this country more than I love a cold beer on a hot Christmas morning." -Homer (the Springfield Nuclear Plant worker, not the Greek Poet) Premium Draught is a beer store par excellence. They have local craft beers and a few national ones on tap (they had Anchor when I was there). You pick a bottle (a "growler")--large or jug, put a $6 deposit down, and watch as beer-goodness is poured from the tap into the vessel. And when you're done, you return with your growler(s) and swap them out for more. They have numerous craft beers by the bottle, as well. So if you had your heart set on something and they just don't have quite what you want on tap, there's always that option. What's not to love? Parking...well, it's the Antidote parking lot but street parking is abundant.

Often you go to a "beer" store and the employees may look down their nose at you and your "not so beer nerd" questions, but this is not that place. The owner was in the store (and has been every time) when I stopped in. Super friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers they have on tap. Such a great idea, and such great folks working there! Tip: If you drink a lot of beers and want to improve your palate. Buy the 33 beers hand book. Small pocket sized book so you can log your beers and rank it. Very very cool!

I love this place, and have been waiting for it to open. A great brand new beer store that just opened up. They do growlers to go, which is awesome. Beer geeks come and get your 512 Pecan Porter and anything Live Oak they happen to carry. 10 taps with a focus on Houston and Texas breweries. Karback, Saint Arnold, 512, Live Oak, the brand new Cedar Creek was just kicked when I visited. Also Hennipin and Anchor OSA on. They also carry about 200 bottles in the coolers. Again, there is a focus on Texas breweries. Some Jester King in bottles being the most notable that is not available on tap as far as Texas breweries. Also a good mix of English, German, and a few Belgians. Plenty of good stuff to choose from. The deal with the growlers: Basically put a $6 deposit for the actual glass, then fill the growler with the prices listed on the chalk board. There is also a discount when buying 6 or more bottles from the cooler. Bring their growler back, and they give you a brand new clean one. The owner is one of the nicest guys around. He was the old manager at the Little Woodrows in Rice Village. He knows his stuff, and the quality and attention to detail is incredible. Go now.

Growlers to go! Though there are other places in Houston to get your growler filled this place has an exchange program. $6 gets you a growler that you swap when you come in for a refill. So you end up with a fresh and clean growler for your liquid gold. You may also bring in your own growler to be filled which is what I do for now. The cleaning is up to you. The selection varies so I recommend checking the website or calling ahead to check what is on tap. The prices are reasonable as the beers offered are typically microbrews or limited offerings. A 64oz growler is 4 US pints and some of the beers offered could easily be $5+ per pint so you're saving a little bit plus you get to enjoy the brew in the comfort of your home. I've been here twice and certainly plan to return regularly.

Premium Draft always has a great selection of craft beers on tap. the customer service is only one of the great reasons why I keep coming back. I had issues with one of my growlers performing below standard and Johnny Not only fixed the growler but made sure I would enjoy whole 64 ounces of the quality craft beer I purchased. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

I was invited to a beer tasting party at a co-workers house where most of the people in attendance were bringing their own home-brewed beer. I kind of made it my mission to impress that crowd. This was the perfect opportunity to visit Premium Draught and knock another item off my Bookmarks list. Other reviews covered the basics of this place. I will re-iterate that the owner is super friendly and he knows his stuff. They had some really good selections on tap. I bought a New Belgium Lips of Faith brew on his recommendation and it went over very well with all the people at the party. Mission accomplished.

First of all, what a great idea for a business. Nerd out over craft beer but don't deal with people drinking in your establishment. Brilliant! The selection is aMAzing, the prices reasonable, and I appreciate how many of Houston's growing number of fine breweries are represented. Johnny and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It's always fun to visit with them while getting a fill. Our Church buys our kegs here, and the men enjoy bringing their latest find to our fellowship activities to share. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing beer store in the middle of nowhere! Lots of rare and tasty things. Especially adore the Belgian and Belgian-American fridge. I hope to find Kasteel and Lindemans there one day.

AWEZOME. This place is bad.azz if yuhs like beer. Killer beer selection (x12 on Tap and, like, 150 in the 'fridge - maybe more). Super mellow vibe and the guys that work there do not discourage questions - and I asked lots of stupid ones...... If you buy your beer in bottles - they probably have it. If you buy your beer in growlers - they probably have something awezome to fill said growler with. They've got a great growler washing/return program - I'll let them explain if you're interested....

Stop in here on the way home from work most Fridays. Always a ton of good options in the case and on tap. And the staff is always willing to help out and asks questions about what you like. The growler exchange program is great too. Makes it easy

Premium Draught is a welcome addition to the beer bottle shop scene in Houston. It definitely holds its own against D&Q and Spec's. I came here after grabbing a coffee at Antidote. It was empty and I figured it was as good a time as any to check it out. Since it was empty I had the opportunity to speak to who I believe was the owner. We had a nice conversation about beer. He clearly knows his stuff and cares a great deal about it. As for the beer selection, the taps are mostly Texas breweries. When I went, Roggen had the most taps. As for the bottles, it is a well curated stock. Lots of great beers for the beer geeks out there. The beers are grouped in style, something I wish more places did. I really appreciated the fact that everything was sold as singles. Premium Draught has good prices, great selection, and excellent service. If you're a beer geek, check it out.

LOVE this store. Everyone here is knowledgeable about beer and the draft selection is consistently well thought and balanced. They replace empty slots with a similar style, keeping the lineup interesting but still having something for everyone. Love their emphasis on local beers too, especially hard to find kegs and beers not available in bottles. The bottle selection is organized by style, making it really easy to find one to take home. Great intro to new beers in a style you like. Really like that they give samples prior to purchase, especially with new brews! Great way to make sure you'll enjoy the entire half gallon. The bottle buy-in is really convenient too. Having the branded bottle sitting on the counter is a great reminder to pick up a new growler. After buying 10 times they'll give a discount.

Good local spot in the Heights with an awesome growler program. I never liked to have to clean out my growler and most places that I have been to charge a good amount for growler fills. They have 3 different size growlers that should appeal to everyone and also have a good selection of beers that you can take home! I recommend this placed to anyone looking for some good beer to take home!

Feel overall this is a good place to chill at. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed being here. Not sure what to make of the $1 "corking fee" if you choose to drink a can or bottle inside, though (I suppose buy a more expensive beer?). With that said, on draft beers there isn't an extra fee, just what you see on the wall. But, overall this is a good place to get some beer.

Our favorite lil spot to fill our growlers. Rotating taps are great to taste the newest crafts. They let you try as many as you like before you buy...can't beat that. Also, you can check out their awesome bottle and can offerings to make your own six pack. If you want to stay awhile you can pay a lil fee and open one up at the bar ledge. Not the most convenient for me, and I'm starting to wonder how many of these places the inner loop can support, but these guys do a great job if you're in the Heights and need to fill some growlers. Not always my fav selection of beer genres, but they've got something for everyone.

I absolutely love the huge selection of beers and the knowledge the staff have of all things beer. I also love the fact that i can get my packages delivered there with Local Postal, and then pick-up my package along with getting more beer.

Craft Beer... BOOM! oops, I got excited there. I meant, there has been a craft beer boom in Houston and Premium Draught is a part of that boom. Premium Draught is located in the space that was once occupied by that book store that everyone gushed about, Kaboom. Haha.. I did it again kaBOOM! So that being said, it's next door to Antidote Coffee. You know that place you can get the Goat Milk Cajeta Latte. Yes that same place. The space is small and acts more as a retail space. As you walk in they have Reach-in Coolers lining the walls to your left and right. They have single bottles of craft beer from all over the country. They also have a big selection of bombers. Bombers are bottles of beer that range from 21oz - 750ml (25.4oz), so if you want more that just a 12oz bottle you can move up to the the bigger bottles without breaking the bank. By no means is the selection as big Specs, but for the guy that just wants to test the waters of Craft Beer I think you should start here. Specs can be intimidating with their huge selection. Plus, Johnny at Premium Draught will be glad to help you. His motto " Beer should be fun". If you walk past all the reach-ins you will approach the temple in Premium Draught. A counter with what I believe is, 10 taps of craft beer. They do a growler exchange with a deposit of $6.00. What's a growler you ask? A growler is a 32oz or a 64oz bottle of beer an individual can fill up with draft beer and take it home with them. I know right! How awesome is that? So a one time $6 deposit and the cost of the beer gets you a 32oz or 64oz growler filled with your choice of beer from the tap list. Next time you come into Premium Draught, bring the growler back and they will exchange it for another one that has been washed, sanitized, and chilled. They do fill other growlers other than their own, but they don't wash or sanitize them. They also have glassware for purchase and other beer centric items. This place is great. They have a phenomenal selection of beers, super helpful and really friendly employees and a great selection of rotating taps for filling your growlers. Get here sooner than later.

If you love beer, go to Premium Draught. Simple as that. So, I feel good about giving the place five stars. Great friendly and knowledgeable service. Seriously, throw any question about beer at them and they have an answer. Please go to this place. Your beer lust will be satisfied.

Just stopped by again. Note to other patrons: they have a frequent growler program. You get a "virtual stamp" linked to your phone number or email address when checking out on their iPad. Get a number of virtual stamps, the exact number currently escapes me, and get some free beer. Love getting beer at this spot and running into neighborhood friends. A win-win situation.

A quaint little craft beer bottle/growler shop! As a 30-something with a young family, I don't really get to go out much and try the newest craft beer releases you can only find at trendy bars inside the loop. Now I can finally bring those great beers home! They have a nice selection of taps and a bounty of bottled beers for sale. The guy running the place is very knowledgeable and helps beer novices steer toward something they will enjoy. The prices are fair and decent and the growler exchange is a great way to ensure that the growler is clean and cold every time! He even makes sure to flush the growler with CO2 before filling, to help keep the beer from becoming oxidized. The only real negatives I can come up with is that the parking is pretty bad. But there is plenty of street parking, if you don't mind walking a bit. Also, it's a small place with only a skeleton crew, so it can get busy and you may wait a bit... but it's worth the wait!

Very laid back environment with an amazing selection of beer and accessories. From beer on tap and organized in the fridges, to the numerous growlers lined up everywhere else there is a bunch to choose from and definitely will be making many trips back to try it all. There are friendly and helpful workers to provide assistance with your decision that day. Overall Premium Draught is an amazing place in a perfect location, with certainty that there will be countless trips back.
