Port Long Beach

We came here for forth Fridays which we have seen grow in the neighborhood and try to support the businesses we really like. After making some new friends which happen to be two females and chatting in the back, a man who later identified himself as the manager walked in and began to urinate in front of us all. I promptly asked him why he "just urinated in fornt of us" which agitated him. At first he said "he was the owner" and began to explain that he could do what he wants. After figuring out he wasn't the owner asked who the owner was. He wouldn't give me the owner's name and instead replied, "let's get the boys" in order to intimate me. A few of his friends and even co-workers came some putting their hands on me and explaining"haven't you ever been to a house party?" As justification for why he urinated in front of us all. I do not find this to be a satisfactory response to why a person in a management position would urinate in front of me and my friends. On a secondary level I don't want to be threatened with under line violence with "get the boys". I embrace independent businesses in our community but feel the need to call out businesses who show a lack of respect from it's employees and threaten violence to the people who live in the community.

Quiet and dark during the day

Unfortunately, I forgot to give Port a shout out from Christmas!!! They had these jackets that my 31 yr old son liked and really wanted, but they were sold out. They literally texted me asking if I wanted it bad enough for them to place an order that they weren't planning on placing. Who does that!?! Port does!!!! Yes, my son got the jacket and loves it. Thanks for being so rad, Port!!!! If you are in the LBC and want to pick up something cool, unique, or a souvenir, stop in at Port!!!! If you'd rather shop online, you can do that too :-) THANK YOU, PORT, and I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner!!!!

I haven't left a negative review for a business in years, and I really hate to do so about this establishment. The clothes here are on point, and the atmosphere is really chill. The problem is coming from the most terrible customer service I have ever experienced. I picked up a pair of boots here a little over a year ago, and about 5 months in, the sole of one of Jen started to come apart. No big deal - things happen. I brought the boots in several months ago, probably early January if not earlier for repair. They said no problem, and sent it to their shop and said it would be ready in a couple weeks and that they would call me when I could pick them up. Seemed like a bit of a wait, but ok. A couple months later, I decided to call and see where they were at. "Still not ready, we will let you know." A couple weeks after that, I go into the store. You'll never guess: still not ready. I called almost a month later. Still not ready. At this point, I have had enough and ask for my boots back. They say they will have to make some calls and they will call me back within a day. A week and a half later, and I haven't heard back and now can't even get a hold of them. I paid over $300 for a pair of boots that started falling apart in less than a year, and it has taken 4 months (and counting) to repair them and now I can't even get them back or get a hold of the people at the shop. Absolutely unbelievable.

An incredible independent brand, that is quintessential LONG BEACH. Big respect for these guys.

I'm in love with the branding at Port. They have such a rad logo and they really use it well. They looks like they focus mainly on men's clothing with some random vintage selection for the ladies. And, yes, their selection of clothes, both for men and women is nice (albeit a bit pricey), what really made me fall in love with Port is the set up of their store. It's the most adorable store on 4th street. Sorry, I know it's mostly a guys' shop, so please don't be turned off by the word "adorable," fellas, and know that I mean it in the manliest of ways. All in all, I wasn't super keen on the ladies selection, but the backpacks and clothes they carry for guys aren't too shabby at all. I was mainly sad that I didn't see any of their Port tees in ladies sizes, maybe I just didn't see them, and now I'm regretting not even asking the owners if they had any. Next time, next time.

I've done my due diligence to give this shop a fair review because, ultimately, I want to support local businesses. However, I can't support a business that doesn't consider its customers. Actually, that's a lie...I can, but the goods better be good! Here, it's not. Their merchandise lacks depth or breadth, and their size runs are ridiculously limited. Inconsiderate. Their customer service is uneven, ranging from indifferent to apathetic. Inconsiderate. To boot, their prices don't justify any of the above. Inconsiderate. Sorry. Bye!

Love Port LBC! I first bought a few things for my friend online and decided to visit the shop. Really cool business, the staff is friendly! The clothing is on point! Mando and Jim do a great job keeping customers satisfied! They also have some awesome retro soccer jerseys and I bought a retro Arsenal Jersey! Port LBC is the best!

Port is special. Why? There is nothing like it in Long Beach in the 20+ years I've lived in this city. The owners are smart and polished, and nailed it immensely. The vibe is rusty/utilitarian, post 20ish feel. Last visit I scored a vintage cute/flirty dress/shirt that's so perfect for Spring, cost? Less than $35.00. With the name Port, its says it all, from the logo to the meaning behind it, I will be sure to be back to purchase a tees to represent my city. You guys probably wonder, hmm. with such a great review, why I'm only giving this store a 4 star, well.. the answer it lacks customer service, with the recent visit, the customer service was lacking big. The salesperson didn't greet, weren't helpful, and pretty much was on the phone 85% of the time when I was there. A few customers came and go, and I watched the salesperson not once said hi, or asked if she can help. I hope the lack of customer service could be from being new in the neighborhood. However I wish them the best.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Love to buy locally, however this has been by far the worst experience. Purchased 2 shirts for a gift Nov 4th. Received an email on the 11th that they had run out and I would receive my order middle of next week. That came and went. After a month, I tried calling, and their mail box is full and there is no way to leave a message. Received and email that my order was finally being shipped, but when I logged in to track it, only a shipping label has been made, it still hasn't been shipped. I need this gift for next week or a full refund, but with lack of human contact or response from this company I wonder if I'll get either. I paid for shipping, however I'll probably have to drive down to the shop to speak to someone face to face because I'm not sure how else to get a response from anybody. Wouldn't recommend purchasing anything online from this company unless you have a year to get the item you purchased. Hard to support local companies when their service is as terrible as this.

Pro tip... if there is a big sporting event going on this place is a perfect alternative to a crowded bar or restaurant. I had a great time watching the majority of the dodgers playoff run at this shop!

Wish Port was closer to my house, however, it's in Long Beach so now I have a reason to go. Great concept, cool as f-word crew working there, unique hard to deny product that I have seen little of anywhere else. The guys have great events and are on the same block as a few tip-top eateries that I love. The blog, instagram @port_lbc , the apparel, the tumbler and the product refelect a very eclectic humorous take on fashion and life and think I'm in love with the Men of Port and their uniqueness. Well Done. Drinking out of a port glass you gave me from your bar (free beer and a fine glass, with my purchase) now, good good dudes, made my whiskey taste tastier. I was referred here by a friend. I was looking for a stylish gift for a male friend who is graduating dental school. The quality of the merchandise they offer is outstanding and the selection limited but very tasteful. Found what I was looking for and made mental notes of much, much more to come back to snag in the near future.

As a native Long Beach kid, this place gives us a bad name. Ordered something online and 3 months later I still don't have it. I've spoken to the manager MULTIPLE times and they keep passing the blame on their shipping guy, then the post office, then the manager, and the list goes on. Please be smart and spend your money at places that respect the customers. Worst experience with a small business I've ever had. And in my home town too!? Smh

In an endless sea of bs clothing stores in Southern California it's pretty hard to find anything that's simple, sleek and looks great. Port hits the nail on the head with their options that they keep in stock. Awesome port brand clothing options from t shirts, sweatshirts to hats and beanies that are all at an affordable price point and offer a great look. Awesome selection of boots and oxfords from broken homme. Huge emphasis on domestic manufacturing which is a huge plus in my book. Definitely stop in and have a look at some of the amazing stuff they have in stock.

I wish I could give it negative stars. Ordered a huge chuck of clothes for our company through PORT and they took our $1500 deposit and never delivered our clothes. NO answer on phones or emails. Can't leave a message, says its too full. TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience. Left us high and dry for our companies Nationals event with zero contact or heads up and they still have our money. DON'T chance it. Steer clear

As a lover and supporter of local small business I want to love this shop. In addition, I'll admit the merchandise is cool as well as the visual merchandising. What's not cool, are the sales people. The customer service is spotty at best and today was the last straw for me. I spent about 10 min in the shop and the guy and girl salespeople spent the entire time discussing his weight loss. He went on about how he could feel it everywhere and his goal weight is 150. As I browsed around I wondered if I was visible, it felt kind of awkward. Eventually I asked them if I did something, where they intentionally ignoring me? No, they weren't, they just didn't give a crap. Well truth be told, I am an avid shopper and know of other equally cool men's stores where I'll be making all my future purchases. I recommend Ever, Civilianaire, Ernest Sewn & American Rag.

Port is a top notch boutique to get your gear. They have good skate apparel brands, but I love their own stuff. Their Port brand shirts are dope and the shop vibe is cool. They don't try too hard to be hip, it's just natural. Get your gear there.

I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping on 4th and dropped by the Port for a third visit. I like the concept of the store loosely based on the Port of LB/ post industrial era. It is very clean and merchandised well. Theres a nice flow to the place, and while its sort of bare bones i like that its not too much. I like their designs, and that they do black, white, and heather grey for their brand. Thats dope, keep it simple gentlemen. They carry a mix of skate and lifestyle brands such as Matix, Fourstar, FreshJive and the like. The staff was pretty friendly but not in your face which is cool. Overall I like the Port store and will probably be back.

THIS PLACE BITES! I can't comment on their inventory, since I could never even get into the store!! So, all I can comment on is their piss poor customer service! I have gone to this place 4 times to try to use my Groupons, which have now expired because each time I went there, they were closed. Mind you, each trip there was made during their own posted business hours! My last attempt was yesterday afternoon, when I was greeted at the locked door by a sticky note reading "back in 10 mins" with a smiley face at the bottom... WTF? That was the longest 10 mins I have heard of. We waited around and killed time for over an hour and a half, but no one ever showed up! I called the store during the 1.5 hours, and guess what? No Answer or answering machine either! What kind of a business doesn't even have an answering machine? I kept calling until their posted business hours were over, 7:00 pm. and still no answer. I called again this morning after 11:00, their posted opening time for today. Again, no answer!! ***F*** this place, as if my time, gas, and sanity aren't worth anything? How totally rude and a Shi**y way to supposedly run a business. Had to call and ask for credit back for these useless Groupons. What a shame, because I had purchased these to buy gifts for my daughters' boyfriends for Christmas and now have to look elsewhere. I would have spent a lot more than the amount of the Groupons too, but they don't appreciate their customers and surely don't deserve the sale. Footnote: Their hours listed here on Yelp are not the same as those posted on their door... It's anyone's guess what they are supposed to be. It doesn't really matter anyway, because they don't adhere to either!

Good shop with a style that is simple but definitely not boring. Really impressed with the quality of their merchandise. The place is well kept with a down to earth staff that is helpful without trying to do too much. Last time I was there Dave shared a lot about the creative philosophy of Port and really sold me on it, so I'll be coming back.

Stopped by while cruising on Broadway. Good thing we did... really fun styles, AWESOME prices, chill atmosphere --- sorry we didn't get the name of the guy who helped us out, but he was super helpful and knowledgeable -- no pressure at all. Will definitely be back when the fall styles come out.

Always a supporter of the local shops but this place is just not for me. First they don't acknowledge you when you enter their store. I guess they think they are too cool for business. Second, what's up with selling samples? Being in the industry, that is definitely not something to be proud of and unethical. I've rolled up to their new 4th st location a few times to give them a chance, but I'm going to give up on these "shop boys" and stick with Proper.

Dope little spot just off 4th st. Cool casual clothing without being too hipster. Decor is on point and the prices aren't outrageous. I'm coming back for more real soon.

Port is legit. Clean aesthetics. Nice brands. Don't know about the negative feedback. Jordan K is a hater. Stick to downtown LBC dork. Kyle O, it was a store opening party fool. And a place that wants to pass out beer is great to me. Ryan S., go check them out again. Port is always opened when I go there. You must be trying to hit them up at midnight after the Pike bar or something. They are always friendly and helpful. Staff isn't in your face trying to sell you things. So anyone reading this, PORT is legit. Need more retail stores like this in the LBC.

Wow, talk about sh!tty customer service. I went in there tonight and felt like I was an inconvenience, they seemed more worried about passing out frat boy beer to their friends than actually making a sale. I don't know what happened to the staff that worked at the Broadway location, but they should bring them back because they had customer service skills. I predict a short run for Port 2 if the "I'm to good" Hollywood attitude stays. Note to Port, this isn't Melrose and your sh!t is not that dope.

Not sure what Kyle and Jordan are talking about, on 12/10 i was actually at there re-grand opening party, i thought it was rad they were passing out beers and there new store is ripping! Just hit it again last week for some xmas gifts.

We are new to Long Beach from Venice. Love this store - super soft tshirts and quality clothing. Love the designer Arthur who went beyond the call of duty to help with a birthday gift choice. Really great LB designs and super helpful staff - in an great building / nice architectural design in retro row!

Was here on a Friday night. Loved the live music, great service, beautiful quaint restaurant, good food. Had the scallops and it was the best ever. My bf had the lobster ravioli which was plain and not impressive, tasted like chef boyardee. Wine recommendation was great, server is knowledgable. It's pricey, but I had a great experience and plan to definitely come back , ESP for the yummy scallop dish and live music. loved the romantic settings. Oh ya, side salad was great too, perfect dressing. Tiramisu was ok, needs more of the rum flavor in it.

Port is totally rad! Love their cool logo, awesomely stylish yet comfortable clothes and totally laid back vibe. And the service can't be beat. Definitely will be doing a lot more shopping at Port!

The new spot is a lot better than the one off broadway. The guys stuff is pretty solid, and got a sneek peak of their new line for port and it looks super good. Met one of the owners and he seemed pretty passionate about the brand which is cool, and the girl who was helping me was very nice and she was a babe too which is good.
