"Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Santiago, La Peluquería Francesa sits in one of Chile’s protected historical buildings (built in 1925) and delights with an eclectic mix of antiques — anything hanging on the wall is for sale and I’ve heard you can even buy the furniture. There’s a working barbershop where old men in little white coats give old-fashioned shaves, and a conserved bodega in the style of the early 1900s (you have to ask to see it because it’s not always open). Its menus feature maps of the Yungay neighborhood that you’re welcome to take, and the restaurant is actually the start of the Historical Patrimony Route, with the map pointing out local highlights." - Matthew Kepnes
