Pat O'Brien's is a vibrant New Orleans bar where you can sip their iconic Hurricane cocktails, enjoy live dueling pianos, and soak in the lively atmosphere.
"Revelers have flocked to the doors of this French Quarter bar for eight decades to enjoy the notorious and widely-publicized “Hurricane." A vibrantly enticing shade of crimson, this rum-heavy drink has earned the bar its place among the iconic French Quarter haunts." - Eater Staff
"You can't argue with history. Even though you can get a hand-crafted, hand-muddled, boutique hurricane at classic bars including Lafitte’s, Pat O’s is where the magic was first made, and this is where the classic lives on in raging technicolor." - Eater Staff, Clair Lorell
"In the very center of the French Quarter is Pat O’Brien’s, a bar famous for three things: inventing the Hurricane, late-night dueling pianos, and a flaming fountain. While it gets packed at night, it’s an ideal spot to grab a few afternoon drinks, and theorize about why someone thought, “You know what that fountain needs? Flames.” Even when you’re trying to keep things low-key, Pat O’Brien’s is a classic, and somewhere you should still check out for a drink or two." - Carlo Mantuano, Garrett Snyder, Zella Palmer

"World-Famous Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens No trip to New Orleans would be complete without a visit to Pat O'Briens for a Hurricane. The story goes that in the 1940s, because it was difficult to import scotch during WWII, bar owners were forced to buy large amounts of rum and the bartenders at Pat O'Brien's came up with this cocktail, served in a glass shaped like a hurricane lamp. It's a huge tourist attraction so get there early and enjoy the quiet of the courtyard before things get too rowdy! By Lindsay Davis"
