Old Swiss House

This was one of my favorite restaurants of our recent European trip! The atmosphere and decor was incredible and made me feel like I was living in another century. Not to mention the amazing service from our waitress who made homemade weinerschnitzel table side. We also tried the chocolate mousse for dessert which was absolutely amazing.

Classic, authentic Swiss cuisine in the heart of Lucerne. Came here with a reservation and so glad we did because people kept flowing in. They’re famous for the table side schnitzel- and it lived up to the hype! It’s definitely a must see, you can tell it’s a hot spot as there’s endless pictures of celebrities who’ve dined there on the walls down to the restrooms. Perfect for a Switzerland dining experience!

Loved the ambience of this place. Really neat inside. The table side schnitzel is of course the thing to see, and it was tasty. The rest of my family got that but I got a brisket dish with potatoes and creamed spinach which was excellent portion and pretty tasty especially with the accompanying sauces. The potatoes needed something but the chive sauce was it! Desserts were great too. The apple fritters are delightful and the chocolate mouse is rich and dark.

Reservations are a MUST. I had the signature Wienerschnitzel dish while my wife ordered the perch with spinach and potatoes. Both were delicious. The service was great the staff are very attentive. Watching our waiter cook the wiernerschnitzel tableside was very interesting to watch, and the waiter was very animated while cooking. The dinner was very expensive, but the food and service make it all worthwhile.

We all love the decoration! If you are near the lion monument, do not miss the restaurant. We ordered the schnitzel. It is soooooo good. The lobster pasta is the best.

One of my best meals in Switzerland by far. Great food and super friendly service by our server. It's very busy and highly recommended to make a reservation. The fish was fresh and the signature breaded veal is spectacular even just to watch it being cooked in front of you. Lobster pasta was ok.

An absolutely amazing evening with fantastic food, prepared at the table, great atmosphere and surroundings and a superb service by our wonderful waitress, Katarina! Their schnitzel was tender and crisp, the noodles were soft and a new angle and the desserts, their signature chocolate mousse and cream catalana was some of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Everything was spot on and we will be back next time we visit Luzern. Again, big thanks to Katarina for making this evening wonderful!
