Nodo South Bank

Lovely day for brunch in Southbank we chose node because of reputation for gluten free food. Busy long weekend Sunday just had to wait a little bit for a table but then all was quick and easy with QR codes for ordering. We got the bang bang Benedict and the chicken burger, Flat white and coffee frappe. The frappe didn’t come until after all the food and other coffees came out but it was all really nice, full of taste and a good brunch. Ended with takeaway gluten free doughnuts which are all delicious.

Came early on a Sunday for a coffee and donut. A large group of over 10 runners had lined up and further members were joining the group rather than the back of the line - staff appeared to be aware but didn’t say anything. There were flies in the cabinet on the donuts. Ordered a hot coffee which came out at room temperature - took it back to be remade. Took 30 minutes from arrival to getting pre-made granola and a hot coffee. Usually I love Nodo, but this was bad.

Wow!! I cannot express how good this place is, we ordered at our table during a busy morning rush and the food was delivered in a very reasonable time. The single origin coffee was so good and the donut, well you can see I was straight into it as soon as it came. Well worth coming to enjoy both food and coffee.

Sat in to have breakfast before work this morning. Arrived around 7:15ish ordered a small coffee and avocado on toast with 2x poached eggs. The place wasn’t busy that is why I decided to have breaky there. Coffee got served quickly and it was lovely. My food was taking a bit and I noticed a gentleman who arrived after me already got his food. I asked the waiting staff and they said mine coming up next but at this point it was 7:35 and I had not enough time to eat it there so asked for takeaway. An other 5-6 mins passed and I asked again, when I finally got my box of food. Arrived at work opened it and this is what took 35 mins to make:

Lovely coffee shop on the Brisbane River! Coffee was strong, donuts were solid, and the location is perfect for a weekend bunch! That said it is on the expensive side, but worth it!

Really good food, enjoyed what we ordered. However the coffee was below average, and they don't offer Oat milk which I found weird. Service wasn't that good in my opinion

I went there 3 times during my recent stay in Brisbane - twice for food and once for the coffee and donut morning deal. The lunch is really yummy and they have lots of DF options/modifications as well as the food being GF. Their mocha is made from real chocolate- your choice of white/milk/dark and it tastes amazing. The donut looked beautiful but was a little disappointing- fluffy cake texture not a yeast donut. I bought a bag of bread buns to take home and they were good too. Definitely recommend!

If you’re specifically looking for a gluten-free option, this cafe certainly meets that need. The menu is gluten-free, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. However we felt the taste and texture of the food was a bit off. For example we ordered a ham, cheese and tomato toasty and the bread was very soggy, tomato cold and the cheese wasn’t melted. It was also doused in pepper. That said, if you're gluten-intolerant, this place could be a lifesaver—just don’t expect the same as you might get elsewhere. It’s in a lovely location and the staff were great.
