We came for lunch. It was pretty busy. You order at the counter, get a pager and return to pick up your food. I got the small Greek Salad with grilled chicken. The serving size was perfect for lunch and quite tasty. The Greek salad dressing was excellent. My husband had the Philly Cheese steak and enjoyed it. Be aware it takes about 15 minutes extra for them to make the Philly dish.

Came here for the first time, I saw the episode of Guy Fieri visiting this spot. We tried the chicken gyro which fries which was so tasty and delicious. The flavors of the chicken were so seasoned. The honey ball desert was really good.

I did order a non-standard Greek item in the Philly cheesesteak, but it was just OK. It looked great and the flavors were pretty good, but it was almost like ground meat instead of sliced meat with a more stewed like flavor. The cheese sticks were fabulous though they had a great flavor a great texture And well worth the order. I need to go back and try some more of the classic options that they have.

Niko Niko’s is my new favorite greek restaurant in Houston. You can’t go wrong with the gyro sandwich with fries, which are made with fresh potatoes. For dessert I recommend trying the gelato or the pastries.

Niko Niko’s is a great place to get some tasty food that fills your tummy. There are many good options for a meal; the gyro plate, one of these options, is a classic Greek dish that tastes wonderful. It includes gyro meat (lamb), pita bread, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and a choice of fries, potatoes, or rice. My brother said that his gyro was five stars. That meal is always a solid choice, but the burgers here are also smashing. I ordered the Bacon Kasseri Burger, which includes a large beef patty, onions, crispy bacon, and a sizable amount of amazing Greek Kasseri cheese. Many fries came with my meal, and they were seasoned well, adding considerably good flavor to them. Our food took a little while to come out: 20 minutes or so. However, it was well worth the wait. I would recommend coming here whenever you’re in the area.

Relieved to try a soup that isn’t overly salty. The soup is nicely tart, light in taste. The feta dip is delicious; salty, tangy, creamy at the same time. The veggies pair well with the dip. 4 stars for the food; it’s good, wouldn’t say spectacular because it lacks depth. Overall consistent and solid place to eat.

While it may be a bit expensive, the portions are very generous. If you’re not too hungry, try sharing a plate. I got the lentil soup and gyro and chicken plate. There wasn’t a whole lot of chicken. Everything was flavorful and the staff are very friendly. I will be back soon!

Great food, steep prices. It may have balanced out if it was not self-serve waiting in line to order and real flatware. Food was really good and the employees were quite nice. We enjoyed the first time visit.

Niko Niko's is a busy, bustling place! People love it. You'd better be really hungry, even then, you will likely take a lot of delicious food home. Our family enjoyed many of the entrees and appetizers over the years. All are tasty, unique and sensational. Prices are very reasonable especially when one sees the size of the meals. Niko Nikos has counter service (order at the counter and carry to table) The friendly team is consistently top notch at assisting with orders and patient with my bad pronunciation of the food items. I think the Greeks invented great customer service! It leaves all the customers with big smile. We enjoyed listening to Christmas Carols sung in Greek! A very nice touch. We highly recommend Niko Niko's and will continue to be regular happy customers.

Really mediocre food, terrible dry cakes. I don't know why this place has so many stars. We came here for dinner on a Friday night, it was busy so we had high expectations. We ordered the fish and chips and the gyro plate, total came out to be about $42. The good: fries are really really good and crispy, gyro itself if tender. The bad: order took forever to finish. The order was mostly fries with a somewhat small portion of gyro, even though the menu said there was extra amount for the plate. For the cost ($20), it was NOT worth it. Fried fish was also mid, very dry and not much flavor in the breading at all. Roasted potatoes lacked flavor, it tasted just like boiled potatoes. The worst: the cake is so so bad. For EIGHT dollars we got a small slice of the pistachio cake. It tasted sooo artificial, and it had a strong almond extract flavor which was really unpleasant. The chocolate sponge cake layer was also sooo dry, and did not have any chocolate flavor. This was probably one of the worst cakes I've ever had in my life. Just go to HEB and get a cake from their bakery section and it'll be better. Would not recommend at all.

MAINS 4.0 - Chicken Kebob plate (medium). Order without veggies and sauce next time. 2.5 - Lamb kebob (well done). Should have ordered medium. SIDES 4.0 - fries. 3.1 - Pita bread 2.8 - Potato, oven roasted 5.0 - Salad (according to Anh)

When I want a gyro or a perfect Greek salad this is my go-to since I was a teenager. Still a consistent OG in Houston.

I would guess I'm in the majority of being a divorced individual by the time I was 50. Most of my Houston experiences were brought to you by that now "ex" relationship. Time to let now grown and older past Austin Yelp celebrity Rooster onto my Houston favorites. 50th birthday week; Grandma and GF are along for the ride. We shopped the Galleria and started towards Montrose for a late lunch. Simple order at the counter process. Rooster had wanted to try a Gyro for some time so his request was simple. We chose to share the Greek Combo with Moussaka, Pastichio, Gyro Meat, Spanakopita, and Pita. Comfortably fed 3 diners for $29.99. Came with a nice size sharable salad too. Onto desserts where everyone was wowed by the Loukomades or Honey Balls with cinnamon. We also sampled the house made Baklava and a Coffee/Chocolate cake. Nothing left on the table as we left and drove onto Louisiana for our next dining adventure. Niko Niko's is everything you would want in a Greek restaurant. Wished we had one in Austin!

I was here the night my 2 / 3 favorite college football teams were playing one another Notre Dame vs Penn State. It was cold and rainy if I remember and ordered a Gyros Sandwich with potatoes this time instead of my usual rice, a Chicken Gyros Sandwich and a Chocolate Mousse Cake. Both orders very delicious, comforting and moist. I thought the Chicken Gyros was just decent. I didn't like the slaw on it and would've preferred tomatoes n lettuce instead as well as more chicken on top of that. As for my main lamb gyros sandwich, here it goes. The pita bread was fresh. The meat was very well seasoned and tender. The tomatoes and taziki sauce were chilled and contrasting with the rest. The potatoes were great in softness and had some lemony zing, but could've used more salt. However, still to my liking and had that bit of bite to fill me up enough. The mousse was very rich in cocoa vibes and nicely creamy in texture. I especially loved the dark ganache on the top half. This sweet treat taste reminded me of a 90s Bon-Bon or Klondike Bar, but in cake form. It even had a like a cinnamon or filo vibe in between the chocolate. I also really like the galaktobourreko, loukomades and chocolate baklava, but this one is my favorite of the sweet treats. Great service again.

I love this place! I recommend this place. This is the authentic Greek food I remember from my semester in Athens nearly 50 years ago. This is not fancy, over priced, snooty Greek food. This is good honest, delicious Greek food. The roast potatoes are as good as Yaya used to make. The Gyros could have come from the Plaka in Athens. The baklava is made with walnuts and honey and love just like it should be. The parking is just adequate for a full house. The service is at the counter and it is efficient and friendly. There is adequate seating but there is nothing fancy. The outdoor seating is my preferred venue but it depends on the day and the weather. The roof may leak and the bathrooms are not great. I keep making my family eat here because it is the real deal!

Had a daughter/mother lunch date. Didn't know what to expect but we had no complaints. Very casual. Order at the counter. Find a table. Portions are generous. Loved all the pastries.

I always enjoy a meal at Niko Niko's. My buddy just got out of prison after 12 years in and the first place he wanted to go was here. There's always a line on the weekend, but that's to be expected with how good the food is! There was a line, but there's plenty of seating when you do get your order in, and the people behind the line are so friendly and helpful. What I love about eating here is the dividers set up between tables that they installed for Covid, not because they're there, but because it makes it nice and cuts down on the noise so you can have a good conversation. Their baklava is to die for!

I love Niko Niko's! My husband and I go a lot more than I care to admit. We love their gyros, wings, Greek salad, Greek salad pita, and gelato. I will say their quality control needs some work. Sometimes the gyros have a lot of tzatziki while other times it's light on sauce. Same for the salads - sometimes a lot of dressing, sometimes very little. I wish we knew consistently what we were going to get. It would be 5 stars otherwise because the flavor is superb and the staff is very helpful.

Worst food, atmosphere, and price is through the roof! Had to stop and get a bite for lunch today 1/16/2025 12:30p. Didn't want to spend a fortune, just a gyro, small fries, and one small helping of Spanakopitas... Here's 1 CHICKEN GYRO $10.50 FRIES***. $4.50 2 Onsd Tomato slices. $0.00 1 16 OZ DRINK CUP - LOGO CUP (did not request logo cup). $3.50 1 SMALL SPANAKOPITAS 3-Three (small triangles 2"x1"... ................ $7.50 Tax.......... $2.15 Tip....... $3.86 TOTAL..... $31.74 !!!! For1!, yes 1 person's lunch ! That's right, I said 1 person's lunch...Never again! And if you are smart, you will heed my advice STAY AWAY!

I'm obsessed with Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives and we FINALLY visited this Houston DDD joint! We came with my in-laws, who were visiting from out of town. We had just left the zoo and this was a quick drive. Our kiddos got burgers and fries, 2 of us got chicken kabob pitas and 2 got steak sandwiches. The food was GREAT! Loved the chicken kabob! Fries were excellent! Desserts looked AMAZING. We planned to get some to sample but needed up too full. I wanted to try the "honey balls" that we saw on DDD. We'll have to make a trip back to try them! Price is a bit on the higher side but what isn't nowadays? Seemed like we waited a bit for our food but it was around lunchtime. Luckily, the line didn't stretch out the door like on DDD. We sat near the door due to limited seating available. Unfortunately, every time someone came in/out there was a huge wind gust. Note: avoid this table if possible.

This spot is close by the road so it doesn't have the best ambiance as it gets loud. Seating wasn't comfortable as it could be but this place was packed so it was all about the food. Chicken Philly portions were great and was delicious. I would take it to go next time.

This place is hopping. Constant stream of customers. Food was good. No wow factor, but good. Ton of fries when we did the add on. I didn't think they were anything special though like some reviews said. I saw the gyro plate and it was stacked with meat. We got the sandwich however and it wasn't huge but just below average size. They have a kids menu too and I've posted it. 12 and under. They have a kid sized gyro with fries and drink for only 8.95 on it. I thought that was a pretty good deal given that the adult size gyro ala cart is already over 10 bucks. Fries another 4.50 and then drink who knows as we got water. But it adds up quick. We also tried the Nutella and strawberry loukoumades. It's like little donuts in honey. It was pretty good but no wow factor. Problem is it took over 20 minutes. Inside wasn't packed either. Most folks were getting it to go. Looked like a yuppie crowd. Lots of scrubs too. There's plenty of free parking. We went on a weeknight around 6 pm. There's also what looked like a car line for takeaway. I think they must bring it to your car because there's no drive thru window or anything. I don't know. It's so nice out I suggest just eating it out on their patio instead. Love the ambiance. Music added to it. It sounded traditional and in some foreign language that I unfortunately couldn't recognize in order to write more about it.

Not fancy but jexcellent food. Plenty of parking, you order at the counter and the food is brought to you. They have beer and wine so. We had the wvoakny dip wich was excellent and the souvlaki panther tons of meat and perfectly cooked. Greta spit for Greek food.

A Houston Mediterranean food staple at this point. Nothing terribly fancy, more like a good fast food place with friendly and fast service. Plenty of room to dine in or outside. The togo orders always come out quickly. Prices reflect level of dining experience. Not outrageous but don't expect anything super fancy, just a solid meal to satisfy cravings

Lots of meat, yummy fries, and good vibes. I like niko niko's. It's a great place for a casual meal with a big group of friends. The spot is very laid back, almost like a diner. There's plenty of parking, but on a busy day, it might be difficult. The prices, I think, are a bit steep at first glance. But the amount of food you get really changes the calculus here. I recommend their fries! It's quite a heavy meal so it really does leave you feeling like you've just eaten a greasy horse but hey sometimes you need that in your life.

We had to stop by this place when we were in Houston. This restaurant has been here forever and there are pictures of Guy Fieri on the wall. It was nice whole in the wall. The Pita and Hummus were delicious. We shared The Hercules plate which had a little bit of everything. We finished off with the gelato from the dessert bar. We were from out of town so we were excited tourists. Some of the locals have not given this place as high of a rating but we thought it was great. The atmosphere is nothing fancy and there is plenty of parking. There is content service but the service was prompt. There is outside seating but it was covered since it was blazing hot when we had chance to visit. We will definitely come again.

Another delicious lunch today. 1. Pastitso & Moussaka combo 2. Lamb kabob Each entree came with rice/potato and a couple of pita slices, plus a Greek salad The portions are generous so we brought home a box with enough food for another meal.

This place is a Montrose staple. Tzatziki is the best I have ever had, my absolute favorite. Gyros are unbelievably tender and filled with flavor. Oven potatoes are my favorite side choice with a meal, so simple but delicious. Great patio area when weather permits. Best Greek restaurant in Houston for me.

Niko Niko a Houston must try for Greek food. Portions are always satisfying. I have a go to order of the chicken & spinach pita. It is so big you don't need to order a side, unless you are sharing. The pistachio cake is also very good here.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE. Not only is it family-owned, has great service, and serves the most delicious Greek food, but it's walkable from where we live. ALWAYS get the gyro platter! Their potatoes are super good as a side, lemony and not heavy at all. Their tzatziki is soooo good. Just all around great vibe. We are regulars at this point lol

If you're in Houston and want REAL GOOD Greek food- stop here! It's a very popular and busy place, but moves quickly. You order from the menu as you stand in line, pay for it, get a pager when it's done and off to your seat you go. If you're a dessert person, you will not be disappointed!! The restaurant is clean and someone is always wiping down tables as people finish. The parking is a bit challenging but that's because it's so popular- It's an absolute must visit.

Huge menu. Delicious, fresh food. You order at the counter and they page you when your order is ready (quick 5-10 min. wait). The counter service was friendly and helpful.

Niko Nikos is a Houston staple. It literally never disappoints. It's casual place with amazing food. You order at the counter and have a seat. The lemon potatoes, fries, gyro, Greek salad and eggplant boat are my favs and I crave them often. I went for lunch yesterday and would go back for lunch today.

One of the best burger and fries you'll find in Houston. I've been eating at Niko Nikos since 1995. I'm a creature of habit, when I find something I like on the menu I usually stick with it, so I've loved the usual Gyros or Souvlaki, Greek potatoes, hummus, falafel, or the wonderful Chicken Avelegmo soup. But today I was in the mood for a burger and if there is one thing so know, Dimitri Fetokakis (the Owner) has never steered me wrong. Years ago he said "try the burger, it's really good," and I'm sorry to say I never wanted to "waste" a trip to NikoNikos on just a burger. Wow was I sorry I waited. I ordered it for pickup since I live close and I was settling in for a Netflix afternoon. That was one of the juiciest, most deliciously satisfying burgers I've had in years. I ordered a burger with grilled onions, jalapeños, and Kasseri (Greek) cheese, medium, and their fabulous hand cut fries. I know the fries are very important to Dimitri because we met in 95 when I was eating with my parents and he stopped by the table to check on our food and noticed we hadn't eaten many fries that day. We were honest and said they were a bit cold and not very good. He made sure we had a hot fresh order, up to his usual standards immediately and thanked us for bringing it to his attention. That and the love for his family impressed me and won him a customer for life. We've talked many times since that day when I'd bump into him somewhere and he is always smiling and warm. His staff is top notch and it's been fun to watch this family man grow his parent's little restaurant into the Houston icon it is now. Today I was reminded how intentioned Dimitri is. If it's on the menu, it's not an afterthought, it's meant to be there for a reason. It's that good. Don't overlook the burger!

The food was amazing! The desert was not my favorite but my family and I all enjoyed our meals!

This is one of my go-to places because everything is delicious. I love the peta bread and steak are so soft and they reheat pretty well. The pastries are also very tasty. The portions are very big so ask for a take out plate! The service is friendly and the restaurant is very clean. The parking is also very accessible! I highly recommend checking this place out

So this place looks cool pulling up, is a nice establishment and the workers were nice but it's definitely NOT typical traditional Greek if that's what you are looking for. I knew it was going to be questionable when you walk in a Greek restaurant and all the workers are speaking Spanish. It is ok for commercial franchise food but if you are looking for Greek cuisine, regular gyros etc I would NOT recommend, its very fast food franchise food

It's been a while since I've given a review however, I believe this one needs to stick. We went to the Spring branch location today and upon ordering from the Kids menu the person at the register ordered everything from the adult menu. Once I was ready to pay for my food, it was my fault that I didn't check, but their screen automatically prompted me to a tip screen in which my options 15% 20% and 22%. I found that extremely unbecoming for the simple fact that this is a counter service restaurant and everything is self-serve. I have to pick up my food. I have to fill up. I have to clean up my mess. After speaking about this situation, he literally did nothing. His name was Ash I believe he only brought me a lid for my soup that I had to take to go. Definitely not returning $70 for two sandwiches and a soup including tip I believe is a rip off.

I don't know why it took me so long to finally visit Niko Niko, I love Greek food! The small but busy restaurant is a great place to taste greek culture. I had a gyro craving so I got the gyro plate that came with my choice of side. You place your order at the counter and seat yourself where you'd like and wait on your notifier to buzz. Overall the experience was Good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was freshly prepared and parking was a breeze. Go check it out whenever in the area!

Been going to Nikos for over 30 years which means I must like it. Not as good as it once was, which was great, but still a really good place to get grub. Wide variety of selections, a salad with a block of feta cheese, fresh cut fries, excellent charbroiled pork chops, boiled potatoes rolled in butter, soups, gyros, baked chicken, fish, and baklava. Nice drive through pickup lane.

When hungry for a Greek salad to Niko Niko's Greek you should go. I was running errands in Houston and dropped by to pick up a Greek salad to bring back home to eat. Walked in placed my our and waited a short time and then back on the road. The salad was delicious. It contained crisp lettuce, tomato, red onions, large piece of feta cheese, bell peppers, cucumbers, kalamata olives, pep- peroncini, and their famous salad dressing on the side. All this with some delicious pita bread on the side. Perfect for my lunch. I recommend you try the delicious salad here.

Each time I visit this restaurant, I'm blown away by the fresh food & portion size. I tend to order with my eyes versus my appetite. I ate there as recently as last week and ordered three entries: pork chops, Hercules, & the chicken & beef peta. Each of these comes with either rice, fries, or potatoes. The potatoes are wedged without jackets and bright yellow from the butter. The Peta's & Hercules plates have lots of fresh vegetables & greek yogurt. You will not regret this choice. The desserts are primarily pastries with lots of honey, cream, and different nuts. Again, the deserts are large enough for two and taste like they were made the same day. Yes, it's a little pricey, but more importantly, it is an experience.

Beloved Greek restaurant in Montrose. Old school decor (lots of photos on the wall, Greek village murals), very friendly service and HUGE portions. The lamb shanks were tasty, salads yummy and gyro plate was good value. Recommended

The service was really good, very friendly, warm and inviting. I am not sure if it's the Greek food that I don't particularly enjoy or if it's just the food here, it was not good. We ordered the gyros with a side of fries, even the fries were strange tasting. Very strange. It actually became quite difficult to finish our meal, seemed the flavor got worse as we went. We tried to make things better by getting a dessert, we ordered the dipples which is supposed to be a Greek sopapilla, it was ice cold and hard as can be. Again I'm not positive if that's the way Greek food is supposed to be but it was not good. The place itself is very cramped inside, not much space to move around inside and you order your food at the counter. There is outdoor seating. They do not have baby seats and that was very inconvenient but we got through it. I unfortunately do not recommend this place but I do wish I had asked the guy at the counter his name, he was very kind and definitely the best part of this visit.

This place is a gem! The prices are great, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The big, open dining area made for a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I tried the pita, and it was absolutely delicious--so fresh and flavorful. Definitely a spot worth visiting

It pains me to leave a one-star rating for Niko Niko's because this restaurant is a long-standing Montrose institution, one of the oldest restaurants in Houston, and served consistently delicious food for many years. My mom actually introduced me to NN many years ago, and lots of other cuisines: Colombian, Vietnamese, Cuban, Indian - you name it, Houston, has it. Perhaps I may return someday, but my experience with NN was negative in April 2022. What made it even more subpar was the fact we came here (the drive thru pickup) to celebrate my late mom's birthday. The attendant/waiter Osiel was great, and he earned one star for the business. But I am docking 4 stars for a rude, incompetent manager who started arguing over not wanting to provide a tiny container of red vinegar, which is not something you do when a customer paid $40-50 for a family meal. Not only that, but the pita bread was soggy and sitting under the lemon potatoes, which were under-cooked. Not only that, but the manager stuffed everything tightly into a convenience store-type bag instead of the usual more spacious NN bag. I called back to discuss the terrible service, and the woman who answered the phone was pleasantly sympathetic, but she said someone named Robert would call back to address the concerns I had. Robert never called, and at this point, over a year later, calling back to make a complaint would be kind of absurd. But that's also why I haven't been back in over a year, too. Hopefully, service will be better should I decide to return because I really loved this place in the past. So many great memories there, but NN has lost the wonderful mom and pop feel they once had.

I've been here countless times over the years, I love Greek food so much that I've tried several Greek restaurants in & around Houston. I can honestly say Niko Nikos is consistently good, the staff is friendly, the service is fast & the food is always fresh. I know I'm in for a treat every time I stop by. Today I ordered the soup & salad special & a mini gyro. The salad & mini gyro were very filling so I got the soup to go & enjoyed it for dinner. I also ordered desserts to go because they're pastries are amazing & I couldn't choose just one.

First time stopping by the Nike Niko's Montrose location. At first glance, the restaurant seems pretty small but once you walk in, you feel like you have been transported to the city. There is indoor, outdoor, and I would describe almost like a sunroom-like room for dining. I tried the gyro plate and it was pretty good. I do wish I had more tzatziki sauce but overall the flavors balanced each other well. The stacked the plate with plenty of meat. I came on a Sunday around 2 pm and waited approximately 35-40 minutes for food. Although the wait was pretty long, at least the food seemed fresh. To end off the meal, I decided to try the mocha cappuccino cake slice. The cake was nice and light and not too heavy. I do think the caramel flavor could have been more pronounced (as I could barely taste it) but overall it was good. There was an uncomfortable situation towards the end of my meal where one of the workers got upset at a patron for putting tea in a cup that was designated to be a water cup...however I noticed that many other patrons were doing the same thing. If you are going to reprimand one person, you need to be equal across the board. Food: 4/5 Experience: 3/5

The food has truly been a hit or miss. Sometimes it's flavorful and at times it's bland and boring. For true Greek food I used to love. This place called the Yia Yia Mary's but it's closed down a while back. I've been there multiple times one thing I do like is there dip sampler. The dolmades that are warm up with the lemon, the syrup I'm not a fan of. It feels somewhat slimy, but it could be a texture thing with me. They're Greek salad with traditional meat is pretty good. They are Slovaki beef is bland. The next thing I'm kind of hesitant to go there sometimes would be their prices. On average for two people with an appetizer it's around $80. I would say a lot of the times I've been there there have been mistakes where we don't get our food on time and they're pretty busy so they miss the ticket. My search for great Greek food continues .

Geez, I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place except that everything that needs to be said has been said. This establishment has been around forever and boasts a huge array of Greek inspired options. It's a Houston culinary institution for sure and is a great introduction to Greek cuisine The falafel here is pretty good, and the lamb gyro is a popular favorite. You get a choice of sides with the gyros. Their boiled yellow potatoes are simple and nice, though their fries are fabulous and probably some of the best in Houston. No joke! Don't forget some baklava for the perfect finishing touch! Their displayed baked goods always look amazing! This establish stays fairly busy, but there's lots of seating and the expanded parking lot and fast line helps with handling the crowd.

I had lunch at Niko Nikos today. The gyros meat was greasy and salty. The pita bread was full of grease spots too. You could see it. Not fluffy like it use to be. The salad was limp. Not fresh or inside the fridge too long. Seasoning was Salty too The hummus was good. Hope it gets better. I've been going there for years. It's gotten slicker but lost its touch. Too bad.
