"By appointment only, this vineyard and winery sits on 42 acres of what was an original 1880’s farmstead. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Gil and Beth Nickel in 1997, the property has retained all of the site’s original Queen Ann charm but houses a thoroughly modern wine operation. The Nickel family is committed to sustainability and employs the most modern production methods—the entire property is solar powered and organic. Underneath the newly built fermentation barns you’ll find a cavernous barrel cellar that stores the winery’s single vineyard Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Syrah. They offer both tours and private tastings."

My wife and I went here for an amazing tasting today. We’ve done dozens of tastings all over the world, and I must say this had to be in the top five. Carson Becker and Rafael took extremely good care of us and custom tailored a tasting based on what we told them that we liked. If you are in Napa Valley, this is one tasting that you should positively participate in. Well done, Nickel and Nickel team.

Our tour was fascinating and extensive. Michael walked us through the winemaking process down to the soil of the local terroir. We thoroughly enjoyed his extensive knowledge and then his informed guidance of our own palates to serve us wines each of us might enjoy. The buildings are gorgeous with old school carpentry practices in a very modern style and the grounds are fit to spend a very long afternoon in.

Had a great private tasting today with Michael. He did a great job explaining all about the wines we were drinking and how each was unique to the valley. Loved the setting sitting on the front porch. Setting was very unique versus other wineries we visited in the area. Worth making a reservation, and ask for Michael!

My experience at Nickel and Nickel (and I would speak for my guests also) was extraordinary. Our tour guide and server (I think her name was Jane but I might be wrong) was knowledgeable and extra ordinarily accommodating. We tasted really wonderful wines and my guests really enjoyed it. The only thing is that, I was charged with purchasing a wine (Far Niente Martin Stellng) that I didn't purchase. Please check. Was this a mistake or was it deliberate?
