"Greece Is the Word For many travelers to Greece, there’s a conundrum: Do you concentrate on the mainland—Athens, Delphi—or do you spend your time cruising the islands—from fashionable Mykonos to holy Patmos? With Grand Circle Cruise Line, you don’t have to make that decision. The first week of the 15-day Treasures of the Aegean: Greek Island Cruise, Athens & Istanbul itinerary includes the monasteries of Meteora, perched atop rock formations; the town of Kalambaka, Thessaly, where you'll discover a Byzantine tradition when you stop at an icon-painting workshop and meet one of the artisans; and the majestic ancient sanctuary of Delphi. Then you depart on a cruise to the Aegean’s most beautiful islands aboard a 50-passenger small ship. You’ll call at ports including Amorgos, Delos, and Naxos, where you’ll sit down for an island dinner with some of its residents. While you'll be following the routes of ancient heroes, Grand Circle assures that travelers also experience modern-day life in the country from those who live, work, and play here. Exclusive Discovery Series events take you deeper, show you more, and give you an unfiltered look into daily life whether you’re dining with a Greek family during a Home-Hosted Dinner, or participating in a cooking class in the mountain village of Arachova. I love this island, is my favorite among the Cyclades so far, naturally beautiful but its greatest asset is its wonderful, kind people

Came here on holiday for four nights with my partner and really enjoyed it. Stayed at Plaka Beach We hired a car (highly recommended), and followed the suggestions of the hotel to visit Alkyo Beach and then Agiassos Beach for a swim and lunch under the trees overlooking the water. A visit to the former capital of Chalkio was great, and nearby Filoti. The rental car company delivers the car empty of fuel, and you are meant to return the car empty. That’s a bit of a con, how much fuel will you need? Not much as it turned out, a lot less than we put in anyway. Agreat island to visit. If you like my review, please “like” it so others can benefit. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Beautiful island with beautiful beaches and clear water. For help everyone can ask me where to stay and eat. Please avoid to rent a car if you live in centre because they don't have parking space. When you need just go and rent a car. Please remember that the car must be dry inside because they will charge you 200 euro. But is great place for families and couples.

Huge island with no infrastructure to cope with so many people and vehicles, especially during August. Horrible roads, not enough signs , locals with dead wish, driving reckless and no sign of police. Urban sprawl and debris in the open fields complete the scenery. Pity, cause the island could be a paradise with some effort.

Fantastic Island with nice friendly people has a relaxing chill vibe. Not a lot tourist. Great Beaches also somę cool places to visit. it takes an effort to get to the island 3-5 h but ferry from athens but it is worth the effort. Also i recommend booking a car to get around island.

This place has nothing to offer. The people were rude, the service was poor, and everything was overpriced. The beaches were windy and uninviting. There are barely any proper roads, and the traffic was even worse than in Athens. Enjoy your Mayor.
