Mr. Tonkatsu

Mr. Tonkatsu is a traditional Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant. When we went (5pm weekday) it was completely empty! There were a slew of doordash and Uber eats picking up from the location though. We sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. The wall had hangers for jackets which I loved! The server was nice and orders came out fairly quickly (10-15min). I loved my meal although not quite as good as the tonkatsu in Japan it was indeed authentic. My friend who got the thicker sauce didn't quite enjoy it as much. I got one of the more standard sauces and it was good to me. I do wish the tonkatsu were slightly larger (either that or the plate made it feel slightly undersized), however, with the soba I left the meal feeling full. The salad dressing for the radish is on the table so be sure to use it! Finally the soba was quite tasty with just a bit of spice. A nice way to end the meal. For under $30 I found it to be a great fall/winter comfort food. Definitely worth a stop in if you are missing Japan.

The Weslley Tonkatsu branch is a great option for those on Young Street looking for a good place to order a quick, well-prepared meal. The restaurant is small, with just a few tables, and orders are placed directly via the table's QR Code, which redirects customers directly to the ordering website. It's a quick and easy way to place orders. The menu is also digital and offers a good variety of food and drinks. For customers with disabilities, the branch has high tables that accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, automatic door opening systems, and accessible restrooms. The entrance is free of stairs and steps. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't have a Braille menu, but the staff is ready to assist with orders, and it may be possible to use digital applications in conjunction with the restaurant's app. It's worth a visit and a meal there, especially for the good prices.

This used to be the best Japanese Tonkatsu place, authentic and well prepared …but that was before pandemic, now first the service level is down, staffs does not understands English that much therefore a limited communication is expected once steps in. The portion gets smaller, most obvious is the cabbage, the veggie is now cut roughly instead of very fine before. Too bad, the good days are gone.

Went there on Monday evening with friends, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, I had the full tonkatsu meal, and the portion was perfect. We also enjoyed a refreshing pitcher of beer, which paired wonderfully with the meal. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was an absolute highlight; she was so sweet, friendly, and always had a warm smile that made our time there even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for great food and wonderful service! :)

I was missing the North York location so I decided to come visit this one and the taste is good, same as I remember. Went during happy hour and had a great meal with refills included on sides! Hope to go back again sometime soon!

This place is a GEM . Came after a concert and found this gem open late at night. Ended up eating here 3 times during our 1 week stay!!!! The Tonkotsu was freshly cooked. The crispiness combined with the sauce is just right. If you like spicy, the TOOWOOMBA (if I remember it right) sauce is very refreshing and surprisingly good.

It's my second time eating at Mr. Tonkatsu. Brought my family here last Friday and they loved the food. Thank you for the very nice service.
