Momo Sushi Shack is a Bushwick gem where communal dining meets expertly crafted sushi, vibrant small plates, and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
"We love the mysterious coolness of Momo Sushi Shack. There's an almost futuristic, utilitarian feel to this space that's unique to the area. The cuisine is Japanese with a twist - tasty small plates, super fresh sushi bombs, and unusual pairings keep us coming back again and again. Our faves are the pork betty (duh), hijiki seaweed salad, black cod, and the spicy una bomb." - WSDIA | WeShouldDoItAll
"A Bushwick institution, Momo offers some of the best unconventional sushi and Japanese small plates in the area." - Refinery 29
"Momo Sushi Shack is a very stylish spot for top-notch sashimi and temaki. The setting is dark and the tables are communal so come ready to be with your fellow humans and bring cash—like many places in this part of town, the don't accept plastic. And as luck would have it, Momo's sister restaurant, Moku Moku, is just next door offering a different menu with a focus on grilled skewers, ramen, and hot pots, all with an eye towards sustainable sources. Moku Moku is izakaya-style, a type of casual Japanese gastropub. Momo and Moku Moku are perfect together—similar atmosphere, different menus—but together, offering the best Japanese cuisine in the hood." - Radish Lab
"Don’t snack too hard at Syndicated, because there are excellent post-movie dinner options a few feet away. Sure, Roberta’s is directly across the street from Syndicated, but if you don’t want to deal with the wait, or you want to try something else, go to Momo Sushi Shack next door. The sushi is actually great, and it’s the kind of place where you might just make new friends with the people sitting next to you at your communal table." - katherine lewin
"Momo Sushi Shack is open for takeout and delivery, so get a whole spread of this Bushwick spot’s signature round sushi pieces (called “bombs,”), and throw in some gyoza and a spicy scallop roll." - team infatuation
