"Like a certain Sci-Fi transportation device, Mildred's Temple Kitchen can only truly be appreciated from the inside. Behind the unassuming facade lies a sweeping shrine to good food and good company. The pancakes here are the stuff of legend, and rightfully so. The skillet ain't half bad, either. Not short on quirkiness, you’ll be greeted by animal statues on the way in and treated to airline sounds while you pee. In the Toronto tradition, you might have to wait a while for a spot. "Toronto's Best Pancakes For about 25 years, Mildred's Temple (nee Mildred's Pierce) has been known for its doughy, blueberry pancakes. Simply, they are the best. As per their website, the pancakes are called Mrs. Biederhof’s Legendary Light & Fluffy Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes served with Lanark County maple syrup & whipped cream. Share with a friend because they are filling! Mildred's menus extend well beyond the pancakes. I highly recommend the eggs benedict on a croissant or the scones, made in-house. The Mkt Burger is also a good choice, should you want a non-brunch item. Speaking of non-brunch, check out their B'Lunch menu, a mix of breakfast and lunch menu items. Their bar seating is a glimpse into the open kitchen and this contemporary space is a great choice for a wedding venue. A great staple to the Liberty Village neighborhood."

"If you only have one brunch in Toronto, it should be at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen. Their big space has high ceilings and huge windows, so it’s bright, airy, and won’t make your hungover friend very happy. That is until the food comes. Order the ‘make your own mimosa,’ one of the egg dishes, and a plate of their rightfully famous pancakes for the table. The wait is long during peak times, so if you don’t have the strength or patience and you’re in town for longer than a weekend, come back during their ‘b’lunch,’ which is served during the week with a similar but expanded menu - pancakes included." - Katie Diamond

"There's no gentle way to say this: The brunch line at Mildred's is out of control. Because this Liberty Village institution takes no reservations, people regularly put their names on the list, then spend an hour—sometimes two—strolling around the neighborhood before they're finally seated. But once inside the warm, buzzy space, you'll understand why it's worth the wait. For starters, there are two takes on Canada's classic Bloody Caesar (one of them involves clamato juice), and tart pink mimosas. But you really just stuck this 90-minute landing for a taste of the Mrs. Biederhof's blueberry buttermilk pancakes, and the epic big brunch skillet, a symphony of spicy pulled pork, black beans, potato hash, and sunny-side up eggs. So, yeah—maybe it's best to walk before you eat." - Todd Plummer

If you're looking for a delicious brunch spot in Toronto, Mildred's Temple Kitchen is a must-try! The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic—bright, modern, and full of life. It’s cozy inside, but the real gem is the patio during the summer. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a meal outside, especially with its spacious setup that’s also wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is kid-friendly, so it’s ideal for families looking for a relaxed place to dine. The food is incredible. The pancakes are hands down some of the best I’ve had—fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The eggs Monty are also a standout, rich in flavor and beautifully presented. You can really tell they focus on quality ingredients and great preparation. However, the service didn’t quite match up to the food. I had a few issues: my waitress sent the wrong order to my table, and I had to ask for my coffee three times before it arrived, incorrectly each time. My server was a bit confused and disorganized, which did affect the overall experience. My suggestion would be to improve the training for the staff to make everything flow more smoothly. Despite this, I still really enjoyed my visit and would recommend Mildred’s Temple Kitchen for its great food, lovely atmosphere, and nice event space.

Enjoyed a pleasant brunch here and loved the atmosphere, food and service. The specialty coffees were great and each dish was unique. I ordered the Benedict on a croissant which had its own spin on hollandaise sauce. The club sandwich tasted fresh and had a garlic bite to it, not to mention the blueberry pancake. I’ve never tried such a tasty pancake which felt more like a dessert cake than anything else. Service was prompt and very polite. Such a great atmosphere. Pricing was a bit steep but worth it for tasty, fresh food that was carefully thought out.

A Weekend Brunch Worth Bragging About — Mildred’s Kitchen, Toronto I had the absolute pleasure of brunching at Mildred’s Kitchen in Toronto, and let me just say — this place slaps. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cozy and buzzing with the kind of energy that only a well-loved local spot can offer. Let’s talk food. The wild blueberry pancakes were the standout star — thick, fluffy, and served with a wild blueberry compote that tasted like summer in the woods. They were perfectly golden on the edges with just the right amount of chew, and honestly, I could have eaten a stack solo and left happy. But of course, we didn't stop there. We also ordered the Turkish Eggs (traditionally known as Çılbır), which were beautifully poached and served over a rich garlic yogurt, drizzled with spiced chili butter and sprinkled with fresh herbs. The combination of tangy, creamy, and spicy flavors was unexpectedly addictive — a definite must-try for anyone looking to shake up their brunch routine. Next up, the Chicken & Waffles — juicy, crispy fried chicken paired with fluffy waffles and a drizzle of maple syrup that pulled everything together in one sweet, savory bite. It was indulgent in the best way possible. To wash it all down, we went with the Organelle Juice (a refreshing, nutrient-packed blend — I think it had beet, ginger, and citrus?), and a sparkling watermelon limonade, which was just the right amount of bubbly and bright. Overall, Mildred’s Kitchen feels like a love letter to brunch done right. Every dish felt intentional, well-executed, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of spot you leave already planning your next visit — which I absolutely am.

Google
We went for a Tuesday brunch. They had the famous Mildred pancakes on for half price. Got the smoked salmon on croissant, chicken and waffle, and steak and eggs. Got different lattes to go with our meals. Everything was delicious and the perfect portion size. Our server was very well knowledgeable on menu items and allergies.

I thought about that grilled cheese for a long time. Even the salad was dressed perfectly, not too heavy. The pancakes were yummy but a bit indulgent for 1. The scones were pretty good! They were super kind to us for my friends birthday :)

Google
It was okay - the food was very good but for the price, portion, and wait time - borderline worth it. We even had a reservation and still had to wait 15mins. Also service was hectic and we had to remind our server even to give us cutlery. Got an iced strawberry matcha latte...for the price, it wasn't it. The blueberry pancakes - which they're known for - are worth trying though.

Google
An incredible brunch spot. Vibes and decor were modern and the blueberry pancakes definitely lived up it's reputation. They had a special chicken and waffles that day too and it was one of the best I had. Portions are good too so good bang for buck as well.

So busy on Sunday. We waited for around an hour but i feel it worths. Then girl at reception is really friendly and welcoming. And also i can feel she's so professional and makes the customers feel good after get inside the restaurant before getting a seat. The chef special duck waffle was amazing with crispy skin and juicy meat. And blueberry pancake also good as it's the "recommended item". Sea salt latte also good enough

Yelp
Mildred's has been on my bucket list for a while, especially with their instragammable pancakes! Opted to go here on an early weekday afternoon, and I would say it was busy, but not so busy to be waiting for a while. The interior is beautiful, with a stunning and bright decor that makes a perfect brunch spot. I ordered the famous pancakes, and also tried their buttermilk biscuit and scones. Also opted for the very unique Earl Grey hot chocolate. The pancakes were HUGE, and definitely deserved the hype. Melt in the mouth and delectable. The scones and biscuits were served warm with the most perfect salted butter and apple jam. And the drink was beautiful. Flowery notes of earl grey with a rich hot chocolate. Absolutely to die for. Definitely got way too much food, but do not regret my decisions. -1 star because the service was a bit rude, and could've been a lot nicer. Otherwise would come here again!

Yelp
A very well known brunch spot and especially for their wild blueberry buttermilk pancakes! They're obsoletely delicious, a little bit more dense texture it's unique and they add a ton of blueberries. If the full order is too much, you can order a single pancake as well. I always get the "veda's choice" which is a salmon with soft poached eggs between a croissant. It's super delicious and classic! The menu is quite small and they do offer alcoholic drinks if you're into that. The restaurant is quite spacious with lots of natural lighting. Service is nice and the server came to check up on us often. Expect long wait times during weekends !! I always get there right when they open so I don't have to wait. It is easy to find parking but it will not be right in-front of the restaurant as it's tucked into a pathway.

Yelp
We went on a Friday with a reservation for 11:30am. We ordered: Blueberry pancake Mildred's hamburger Scone Chicken and waffle Note, only brunch is served and the menu is quite limited. Personally, the pancake was dense with a biscuit like texture. It must be eaten with the toppings otherwise it is too dry. I prefer that the pancake is served warm. I wondered if it was served cold because of the toppings. The scone was really dry and the apple jam has the same texture of applesauce. I did not enjoy the scone. The restaurant decor is beautifully bright and airy. In the table booking system, there are a few pre-visit questions which could be helpful for the restaurant to meet your needs.

Yelp
So... spoiler alert - we had our wedding reception here (PRE COVID!) in 2020 and even though they checked off ALL the boxes for our wants.. THE FOOD WAS KILLER. our tasting was so bomb back then...and ever since 2020, we've been wanting to go back for dinner. Yes, everyone raves abt their biscuits... pancakes.. BUT THE DINNER MENU. I have been begging them to open for dinners but they only do large events (fair!) and brunch all days. I may have even started begging friends to have their wedding there just so I can eat the food/appetizers that I missed at my own wedding cu we were too busy mingling. But alas... Winterlicious!!! I booked asap and I am so glad i got a date, on a Saturday night! It was so wonderful to be back in the space and all the fond memories came flooding back. The hubby and I got a date night (thanks GMA!) and it was wonderful, yummy and fabulous. I really do hope they do dinners again but I'll settle on winterlicious. (Which we never do bc a) kids and b) it's just not the real deal to me). But not the case at Mildred's! Everything was perfect... the crab cakes were a little disappointing but everything else was spot on. Donna was in the house and I had to stop myself from thanking her for building this beautiful space. If you know anyone who is thinking of booking an event, push them and then talk them into getting you onto the guest list (if you weren't already)... and me too, if you can.

Yelp
I haven't had a nice weekend brunch in a long time and this place was a perfect venue for one. A beautiful and relaxed interior, friendly and attentive staff, and a delicious healthy menu. What more could you ask for? Tucked away in the Liberty Village are of Toronto this is a must stop if you have a group of friends that want to go out for an enjoyable afternoon brunch. I had a decaf cappuccino and "Veda's Choice" which is basically an Eggs Florentine (salmon substituted for pork) on a croissant, delicious. I also shared a Japanese style pancake which was fluffy and light with a tasty blueberry sauce/jam on top. Its great when. you can leave a restaurant with smiles.

Yelp
Had been dying to come to Mildred's for a while & finally, on a bitterly cold morning, we made it. As expected, it was packed with people waiting outside even in the cold rain. We decided to find a nearby coffee shop while we waited to be called. When it was our turn, we practically sprinted over! The space is open, airy & was whimsically decorated with snowflakes wherever you looked for the holiday season. Total winter-wonderland vibe. Our waiter was lovely & made great suggestions. i decided to try their seasonal cocktail which a delicious spiced play on a Hotty Toddy. For the main, I did the Avocado Veda's choice, my guy did a simple egg dish & we absolutely HAD to order the famous "Mrs. Biederhof's Wild Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes" which were almost as good to eat as they were impressive to look at. While I can't say anything really wowed me, all together I had a nice brunch & would happily come back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Best Brunch Spot in Toronto! Seriously, ask ChatGPT and it will tell you this spot. From the food to the atmosphere, and everything in between, you will love this place. The only recommendation I have is to be able to join a waitlist before arriving, like on Yelp, or something. Food - 5/5 - This place is famous for their blueberry pancakes... and let me tell you, the pancakes do not disappoint. Honestly! I love pancakes and have tried so many, and these are the only ones I like better than the ones mom makes. The quality is consistent too - I came here 5 years ago and again recently, and it's the same, which is great.. sometimes quality can decline after a few years, changes of chefs, etc. If you come here for the first time and order something different, jokes on you. Atmosphere - 5/5 - It feels like the luxury brunch spots you see on Instagram, and feels grand with its high ceilings, etc. Really adds to the experience and vibe. Service - 5/5 - Our server's name was Kendra, and she was fantastic. From the friendliness and kindness, to giving a complimentary scone for bringing the wrong thing, this place really has the best service. This is the cherry on top that makes you want to come back, despite the long wait times to be seated. Really, other than the wait time, there's nothing I can say can be improved with this restaurant. Til next time - thank you so much!

Yelp
Come for: the blueberry pancakes A friend told me she had the best pancakes of her life at Mildred's, so we had to try it. The restaurant was quite crowded and lively on a Saturday around noon, so there was about a 45 min wait. Once seated, we ordered the blueberry pancake stack, which comes with 3 blueberry pancakes, blueberry syrup, whipped cream and of course maple syrup. Pancakes were thick but light and fluffy, and the blueberry sauce was delightful. We also had the Veda's choice: a poached egg, bernaise sauce and choice of protein. We chose the smoked salmon. This was served with a refreshing side salad that helped balance the richness of the delicious sauce and egg yolk. The croissant was slightly over-toasted, so it crumbled quite bit--but overall it was a good savory brunch option. If you want to take a little Mildred's home, they offer a variety of pancake mixes and syrups for purchase.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Known for having long lines (which is true)! But we got there early (10am on a sun) to grab a table just before a wait started. I ordered a single blueberry pancake and 2 scones - so I could try more! The single pancake still filled me up and I ended up taking the scones to go, but all delicious. The pancakes are a must! And the scones were freshly made and they tasted great. The waitress was kind and assisted with any accommodations to our meal as needed. She also was super friendly and welcoming. The space is designed perfectly for brunch and has a great atmosphere.

Jessie L.

Yelp
The hype is real! We went to Mildred's at 11am on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The blueberry buttermilk pancakes were so fluffy, delicious and warm. The maple syrup tasted so good and aromatic, while the whipped cream was so light. The blueberry compote was incredible. Vedra's choice was also very good with runny yolk in a buttery croissant alongside acidic salad. We got smoked salmon with it and it was delicious. The ambience was quite nice with a good airflow and not too overcrowded. Highly recommend!

Jenny Z.

Yelp
We went Saturday for brunch at 11pm. The wait time was around 30 minutes however upon asking for a bar seat instead of a table we were in after 10 minutes. Service was smooth as well with great staff. The restaurant itself was very cozy in terms of decoration. It was actually so pretty with many paper snowflakes hanging on the ceiling for winter. The entrance was also stunning and they had star shaped ice cuts outside. Now lets talk food :D The first is the pancakes - what they are famous for. Buttery, thick pancakes with fresh whipped cream, blueberry compote and maple syrup. Y. U. M. Unfortunately I had a salty palette today so I was more into the savoury food but this would have hit the spot if I had a sweet tooth going in. It wasnt overly sweet as the butter and whipped cream balanced it out. The pancake was so fluffy but also not just air (unlike the asian style soufflé pancakes). The blueberries were super amazing as well. The maple syrup tasted so good. And I was a huge fan of their whipped cream. Perfectly creamy and not sweet creating a perfect balance of sweetness to the dish (not overly sweet). Next was the biscuit. I wanted to order this as on the menu it said theyve been making it for over 30 years. Again, since I was feeling savoury today I did prefer Red Lobster biscuits over this sweet one. However, I do prefer the pancake to the biscuit as well. It was flakey, and buttery but still too sweet for me personally with the berries and the powdered sugar. The caramel apple butter sauce was so good. It was a new taste for me and it blew me away. However, the more I ate it the more it tasted like high level flavour applesauce. Still amazing but definitely lost its WOW shock factor the more you eat it. The drink (in the same photo) was a masala chai latte. I didnt love the flavour as much as I hoped I would. The spices all settled to the bottom as well so the last sip was very grainy. The cheese tart was good. My friend loved the filling and the texture of the filling. For some reason I was expecting more cheese just because they called it a cheese tart instead of a quiche on the menu. The tart itself was so buttery as well. Imo better than the biscuit. Salad was also very refreshing and I love my greens so it was nice to have in the meal. The sausages were not as juicy as one would have hoped but it was chorizo which isnt that juicy in the first place compared to other sausages. The arugula pairing was very nice. I also dipped the sausage into the blueberry compote and maple syrup to try to mimic the maple syrup breakfast sausage taste - it was not bad. My friend liked the pairing better than with the arugula. Finally, the chicken and waffles. The chicken was okay - half of it was well cooked and I think the other half was slightly too crispy for me. The fresh dill was yummy as well as whatever sauce they put under the waffles was so good.

Yelp
Wellllll worth a visit. Make a reservation to guarantee a spot. We went on a Friday morning, and the place was open, airy, and bright. You have options to sit inside or outside (we sat inside). Blueberry pancakes- the pancakes were good. Sturdy, thick, and almost cakey. They weren't fluffy or light; not that type of pancake, but still very good. The blueberry on it is what make sit worthwhile. You don't have to get a stack of 3. You can get one as well. The Shak- a great one. Everything from the bread to the eggs to the sauce was fantastic. Service wasn't top notch, but overall, not enough to ding them a star. When I say, 'not top notch', it just means we had to flag down the waiter for everything. Then, he was very accommodating to our requests.

Wendy C.

Yelp
Had this on my list to try for their blueberry pancakes. There was a bit of a line when we came 10 min after opening on Sunday but it moved fairly quickly. There seemed to be a 10k race nearby so lots of people from that event came after. Once we were seated it took about 30 min to get our food. Lots of food was getting put out from the kitchen but would need to get grouped and told to the servers. I got a matcha latte that was too foamy at the top with a grainy strong matcha taste. The hot matcha below was a okay matcha flavor. We of course tried the blueberry pancake stack. I though they were pretty soft, a little thick and dry but good when all mixed with whip cream, maple syrup, and blueberry. But I expected the pancakes to be softer, less dry and more tasty on its own. The blueberry compote was very soft and melts in your mouth. I think the 3 stack was a bit much so just trying one piece as a side would be enough. The smoked rosemary bacon on the side was delicious. It was flavorful, had a slight crisp and was not too oily. The veda's choice had a crispy and flaky croissant. It paired well with the smoked salmon and poached egg and wasn't too saucy. It also came with a good mixed salad on the side and was good with the bacon. The servers were friendly and overall enjoyed the food.

Yelp
found this restaurant on tiktok of course, it offers a chill casual vibe for brunch perfect for the whole family. they also sell some staple pantry items such as pancake flour and fruit compotes. the service was good and the food came out relatively quick. overall i enjoyed my dinning experience here but as an avid pancake lover i'd have to admit these were not my favorite. the pancakes were a tad bit too dense for my liking, it almost felt like i was eating a biscuit as supposed to actual pancakes. the smoked bourbon spiked hot coco was the star of the show for me, especially during the cold winter morning which i visited.

Navnit S.

Yelp
Love how Mildred's brunch is always consistent when it comes to quality and taste. This is my third time trying them and I love it as usual. The wild blueberry pancakes are fluffy, not too sweet, and come with cream. The scone biscuits were not too dry and came with a sweet jam. The vibe and ambiance of this place is modern. You can see your food being made and the service is great. They ran out of a few things so they came to me right away to let me know. Overall great place for brunch!

Joy M.

Yelp
Came in for lunch but we had to try the pancake. I'm embarrassed to say this is my first time here. Every time I came, it was so busy and I just can't wait in line for lunch anymore. Pancake lived up to the hype. Was excellent. We just ordered one to split as a sort of appetizer. Nice and warm and fluffy. Then I ordered the eggs Monty. Sort of like a quesadilla filled with cheese and black beans then topped with a couple of sunny side eggs with a side of quac and sour cream. Excellent combination. Added the grapefruit juice with ginger and I was good to go. Service was excellent. The place is beautiful.

Rho L.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and scenery at this easy to miss breakfast spot. We ordered the blueberry pancakes which were a sight to behold but actually a bit dry in sections that didn't have that blueberry compote. My hubby built his own croissant breakfast sandwich. Their croissants are buttery and flaky. Substantial vehicles for all the goodies he put inside. Now the bacon though. Wow. A side order of bacon was enough for three people and each piece was hearty and crispy. The last time I had bacon this food was in Portland, years ago. Certainly pricey but a great experience overall.

Yelp
My mother-in-law and I were in town for the Taylor Swift concert. We were told to go to Mildred and they had the best pancakes in town. Upon arrival there was no line, but it was very busy. The hostess told me that would be an hour and 45 minute wait. I asked if we could eat at the bar and she said no. I walked around and saw that there were two empty spots up above the bar at the counter and asked if we could sit there. She then agreed that we could. That was a little weird to me. Our initial server was very busy and was taking forever to get our order. I ordered the blueberry pancakes to share. And I must say, she said that they were known for their blueberry pancakes. I thought they were dry, tasteless and I actually added extra whip cream to add some taste. I would not recommend the blueberry pancakes. they were more like a crumpet...a dry crumpet. I also had the eggs, chorizo, sausage, bacon, and croissant. The croissant was perfect and delicious. The eggs were also cooked to perfection and had great flavor The sausage I didn't care for. The hot chocolate was amazing. Best hot chocolate I've ever had. The place was packed with people and the ambience was really cute. Like I said we came to see the Taylor Swift concert and everything they had in the restaurant represented Taylor Swift. Besides the first encounter with our original server, the other server was quite nice and made up for her neglect. If we came back to Toronto, I'd come back here for the hot chocolate, eggs and croissant.

Yelp
Have had this spot pinned on my brunch list for a while because of its renowned pancakes, and finally had the chance to swing by while in the neighborhood. It's easy to miss from the outside, but once you step in, the place is surprisingly spacious with an eclectic Ins vibe. Their menu offerings are quite creative. Tried the Eggs Benedict with Pulled Pork on Scone, their daily special and it exceeded expectations. The pulled pork was packed with flavor, perfectly complemented by the buttered scone and poached egg, making each bite a delightful explosion of taste. Also had the Eats, Shoots + Leaves salad - a mix of spring greens, kale, radish, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, tossed in lemon vinaigrette and olive oil. It hit the mark, although I could've requested a lighter hand on the oil. Of course, we tried their Blueberry Pancakes, and they lived up to the hype, though the amount of butter was pretty generous, both in the pancake itself and on the plate (initially I thought it was syrup). While I wouldn't say it's a must-order, it was definitely worth a try. The pear ginger juice was a bit too sweet for my liking. Service-wise, no complaints. Overall, if you find yourself in the area, it's definitely worth popping in for a taste. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4.5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 3.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 3.5/5 OVERALL - 3.7

Yelp
I waited for about 30 minutes in the Toronto sun for a crack at this restaurant. I'm pleased to say it was worth the wait. I'm not a pancake guy, but it was my birthday, so why not? The Mimosa was dreamy and strong. The cotton candy added extra razzle dazzle. Totally unnecessary, but appreciated. The pancakes with fluffy and decadent. The best I've ever had by far. The restaurant itself is swanky, with an open kitchen that's visible from every angle of the establishment.

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
I feel like the people that are leaving positive reviews have never really had great breakfast food. Overall, the menu is very flat. You have very limited options on what you can get. Everything on the menu was lacking flavor. There was no salt added to any dish and it just taste like basic culinary food like if you just graduated from school. Nevertheless I came for the blueberry pancakes, which they're famous for. I was very disappointed. The pancakes themselves were hard and dry in the middle. They are not fluffy like an average pancake, but it makes between a dry biscuit with extra baking soda. They were served cold and overall appeasing. You can tell that they don't make them to order and they just heat them up on the griddle . I will say the service was nice, which is why I am giving them a one star.

M L.

Yelp
Wide selection of delicious breakfast options for the whole family. The biscuits and blueberry pancakes are amazing! My kiddos loved the pancakes so much that the owner/manager them over to the kitchen, showed them how to make them and gave them a mix to take home. Awesome experience and we will be back! Top brunch in Toronto!

We just opted for a brunch on a weekday. The dish that this place is known for the blueberry pancakes were delicious. There was not a lot of crowd for a weekday, but still, there were quite number of people. The service was prompt and we were attended to. The interior decor of the place was relaxing and eye catching. Overall, a good weekday brunch place when you are not working.

Yelp
I think this place might be a little over-rated a bit. We got there Sunday morning and had about a 15 minute wait which wasn't bad. The servers were quick, the food was just ok. I ordered the Huevos Monty, it was good, but the temp on it was a bit on the cold side for me and the avocado could have been fresher. The wife ordered the pancakes and they were good too, not amazing, but good. And oh, it is super loud in this place.

Yelp
What a pancake! Unbelievable taste. I went there during their Taylor Swift special flavors event and tried the original pancake and the Taylor pancake, which I shared with a friend. The venue was very busy, so we sat at the bar. Great experience and service--a taste to remember!

Yelp
First time in Toronto and found this spot. Staff were amazing. Our server even went out of her way to make us a list of places to see in the city. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a really cool vibe. Apparently they are known for the pancakes and they were good. We got the chicken and waffles special and I can't remember what my husband got but the food was good. Not amazing. By far the service outshined the food. I would visit here again.

Yelp
Are the pancakes thick and delicious? Yes. Was it worth the almost 2 hour long wait to get them? Probably not. A group of friends and I came for brunch during the weekend, and since they don't do weekend reservations we waited in line. We ended up waiting for around 2 hours, then when it was time to order it took another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Though the wait was long, the staff were very nice and helpful. Ok now for the food. Their pancakes are known to be almost crumpet-like, with a thick texture compared to regular pancakes. While they are delicious, the cost was a bit too steep for the amount you get ($26 with taxes and tip). Overall, it was nice trying the food here, but I probably wouldn't opt to do their weekend brunch again.

Yelp
Such an amazing place for your brunch! This is always our favourite spot for lunch or brunch. Amazing food, just too few options.

Yelp
The service was excellent friendly. We sat at the bar since the wait was over an hour. The flank steak was cooked to perfection and very filling. The steak sauce was simply to die for. The egg croissant was the best we've had. The side greens were in a light dressing that was very flavorful and tasty. The blueberry pancake was awesome. A fitting end to an amazing brunch. Will definitely be back when in Town again. Place was clean and well maintained.

Yelp
The menu has no more than 10 dishes, which are more or less the same. Eggs with a salad. Everything was very flat and flavourless. University student- level cuisine (at a very premium price). Also the place had at least 3 free patio tables but we were not allowed to be seated until an hour had passed from the initial reservation. Overall,.... Weird vibe and bad food. If you can fry up an egg at home, you're already at the level of this joint. Would not ever waste time returning to this seasoning and flavour deficient joint. yikes.

Yelp
Came here for the infamous blueberry pancake on weekend. They do not take reservations so make sure you get there early, the wait is about at least 30mins. Their outdoor seatings are not available anymore since bees love the pancake too. We didn't want to wait so get to bar seats which is very comfortable too. The service at the bar also very fast. The pancake, HUGE. It's very fluffy (not Japanese soufflé fluffy, but good enough) you don't even need the maple syrup it's already soaked in blueberry jam. It comes in 3 pieces but all you need is two you will be full. Recommend to order 2 sets for 3 people to share. The orange juice is so tiny , don't recommend for that price . The Manhandler is perfectly cooked, only complain is lack of seasoning on both steak and salad.

Yelp
It was pretty loud in the restaurant, but that was expected on a Saturday at 11. The food was good, although not amazing. I think I would order something else the next time I go. It was a little interesting to me that hot sauce was an additional cost, but it was tasty and seemed to be homemade. Overall it was a decent experience, but nothing stood out to me when comparing it to other brunch spots.

Yelp
Delicious! The pancakes are insane! You won't be disappointed! Our server couldn't have been more gracious; she even gave us a little goodie bag of treats to take back to our hotel room. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
One of my friends really wanted to check out Mildred's Temple Kitchen while we were exploring the GTA area because he has seen their famous blueberry biscuits on Youtube videos by his favorite celebrity chefs. And if you've seen the pictures, you already know they look scrumptious. We made a reservation in advance for this past Monday late morning, which was a good choice because it was pretty packed. They have a display of items you can buy, including their pancake mix, blueberry compote, maple syrup, and more! Definitely check it out because my friends brought multiple items to bring home. Since it was peak summer, there's a lot of wasps flying around and they tend to come inside pretty easily. There was one that was flying around our table and being a menace, so it was not a fun experience. Other than that, everything was good. HAND CUT FRITES WITH SIDE GARLIC AIOLI - 7 The fries were super crispy and fresh with hints of oil just oozing into your mouth after every bite. They were seasoned well and were great on their own. But the garlic aioli was also phenomenal, full of garlic flavor and extremely creamy. I wasn't sure what to do because both options were good. I'd recommend these fries. MRS. BIEDERHOF'S WILD BLUEBERRY BUTTERMILK PANCAKES - 20 I don't know who Mrs. Biederhof is, but the presentation of these pancakes were crazy. There were three pancakes - beautiful, super thick and fluffy, with a generous amount of blueberry compote and whipped cream on top. There's also maple syrup drizzled on the slide. The first bite of everything was great. You get a strong blueberry flavor, mixed with the thicccc pancakes that were pretty buttery and hints of the maple syrup that seeps through the pancake. However, if you're not a sweet tooth, the pancakes does become too heavy after a few more bites. The blueberry compote is extremely sweet. The pancakes on their own felt more like biscuits to me because of how dense they are and they're on the drier side. This is a very carb and sugar heavy meal that became way too much for me after a couple bites. If you aren't a big sweet tooth but you still want to try the pancakes, they do sell a single blueberry pancake for $8 each. One of my friends got that and he enjoyed the single pancake he had (and I wish I did the same). Another friend got the Veda's Choice and enjoyed the savory croissant with toppings and the light side salad.

Yelp
such a solid brunch place and the buttermilk pancakes are absolutely UNREAL! so buttery and decadent but not over the top sweet. nice place to come for brunch on the weekdays since i like it more quiet than the weekends :)

Yelp
Really enjoying coming here. Been back twice already. I always try to avoid the weekends as it gets really busy. I really enjoy their blueberry pancakes, they are fluffy and soft. We also really like their scones, the sweet jam is amazing! The service here is usually really friendly and quite fast. Definitely a must visit when in Liberty village.

Yelp
There's a wait list! Come early to make sure you put your name down, it'll be a bit of a wait. The service was the best part of this place for me. Starting from the host to the server and everyone else who manned the place, everyone was extremely pleasant and truly enhanced the Toronto vibes for me. As for the food, the pancakes were good! It was soft and tall and sweet. The steak was alright, according to my husband, it was nothing remarkable. The drinks were the best part of the meals. We also got free pastries to go!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended based on reviews and social media. Pictures of the pancakes it what honestly drew me in. The location is a little bit outside the downtown center but was easily accessible by taking a short subway ride, bus and about a 10 minute walk. Seating is available both inside and outside . We chose to sit inside and were nicely greeted and seated fairly quickly. The host and server were really nice and shared the daily specials. We ordered a few things to share - Wild Blue Berry Pancakes, The Shak (egg dish w/ tomatoes, feta cheese and various spices) + side order of chorizo and french fries w aioli. Excluding the pancakes, the portion size on the egg dish could have been larger as the depth of the baked eggs was rather shallow, the chorizo had very little taste and was a bit disappointing but the pancakes and fries were on hit ! The amount of food ordered was enough for two people and was overall very satisfying.

Yelp
The food and drinks were delicious. I had the Huevos Manty. Seemed very touristy and prices reflected that compared to other places we went in Toronto. Service was okay by actual waitress. Others seemed to be on it.

Yelp
Came here for the first time to try these blueberry pancakes that everyone's been talking about. It was pretty good but I wish there was more cream or blueberries compote because it got kinda dry as I went down the layers. It's a dense but also slightly fluffy kind of pancake. Service was pretty good and restaurant was nice and pretty spacious.

Yelp
Came to Mildred's for their winterlicious menu. To start, unfortunately when we went, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for a table despite having made a reservation. Once we were seated, we got greeted and served right away which alleviated a bit of that frustration in the beginning. The ambience of this place was not what I was expecting; the front of the place looked very nice with very good interior but the rest of the restaurant was warehouse/rustic vibes. Perhaps maybe the atmosphere is better during the day when there is sunlight but that was something that surprised me. For the food, to start we got their crab cake and beet salad which were actually really good. The beet salad was so refreshing and all the flavours melted beautifully together. The crab cake had a wonderful crab taste that was not over bearing and I loved the sauce they provided. Onto the mains, we got the short rib and duck and waffles. The short rib was seasoned amazing and it was perfectly balanced with the bed of mashed cauliflower underneath it. It was unfortunately not cooked long enough as it was still slightly chewy and not tender. Despite that, everything about it was great. The duck and waffles were also amazing with all the flavours blending well together but once again, the texture of the waffle was chewy and not soft which made eating it a little bit difficult. Lastly, for dessert we had the profiteroles and cake. These were both well cooked and perfectly sweet, no complaints here. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the drinks but they were good on the first sip, but after a while the taste decreased. These were not apart of the winter menu so it costs us more. Overall, Mildred's for their winterlicious menu was a decent spot. I do wish their service was a tad better, especially with the fact that we had a reservation. Their food was what I was expecting and for the price we paid, I do think we got good for it. Next time, I do want to try their brunch menu as I believe that is what they're known for!

Yelp
Such a frustrating experience. We traveled from California to try this brunch place and the service was abysmal. It took 40 minutes to receive our food. To make matters worse, we could see the food sitting on the counter, finished and ready to be served, thanks to the open kitchen. The delay of service caused us to run late events planned after dining. Our waitress was obviously avoiding eye contact so eventually my entire party had to all wave her down, and yet she still did not but another waiter ended up seeing us and helped us out. They were also not understaffed to justify such terrible service. When the food finally arrived, it was cold and unappetizing. We were looking forward to a hot, satisfying breakfast, but what we got was a lukewarm, disappointing meal. The delay and poor service really put a damper on our experience. If you're looking for a reliable breakfast spot with good service, I would recommend looking elsewhere because Mildred's is not it.

Yelp
I would suggest making reservations for this place, and I will tell you right now... Anytime I'm in Toronto, I will make it a point to stop by here for breakfast or brunch! We showed up and the weight was about 40 minutes, but there was no way I was going to miss out on one of the most celebrated restaurants in the area. Everything was delicious, fresh, the drinks were vibrant and refreshing, but the star of the show was the fluffy, tall, sweet n delicious berry pancakes. I've traveled the world, and this is by far the greatest pancake Of our northern neighbors. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Finally got to try this gem of Liberty Village! Let me preface by saying, if you want to go ESPECIALLY on the weekend, just do yourself and your party a favour and make a reservation no matter what. I know there are people here saying that they don't do reservations but we made ours no problem online for a Sunday. The decorations were up for Winterlicious and added a hint of winter wonder for a dreary day. The chic decor and stunning green everywhere really caught the eye and added an extra flair to an already glamorous and flowing space. We each either had their Veda's Choice breakfast sandwich either with bacon or avocado, and two orders of the Mrs. Biederhof's Wild Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes (one for a friend who wanted her own and the other for the table to share), and a side of double smoked rosemary bacon. They're famous for their pancakes for a reason! The dense texture of the pancake reminded me of a lighter pound cake and the maple butter complimented the blueberry compote perfectly atop the dish. The eggs were poached to perfection on every sandwich, each with an ever so slightly toasted croissant bun that blended together and melted in your mouth with the perfect finish of crisp bacon. The rosemary bacon on its own was a huge portion for a side, and at only $7 for that amount it was generous. As a lover of London fogs I had to try their take on it, the lavender fog. It tasted very similar but a hint sweeter which I was a huge fan of. The pink mimosa, which consisted of grapefruit juice and Belstar Cuvée Rose, were tangy but sweet and served with a garnish of grapefruit. It's definitely a delicious and Instagram worthy spot. Perfect for catching up, birthdays (we saw two in our two hours there), and just a chill brunch day. With impeccable service and paying under $40 per person, with with leftovers, it's definitely a place I'll be back to.

Yelp
Having to wait 15 minutes past your reservation time at a bustling restaurant isn't the worst. But what is upsetting is watching parties of the same or larger size walk in without a reservation be seated before you. That is just a system failure at that point. Front of the house staff was disorganized. We made a reservation for two, checked in early, and saw several parties of two and three seated prior to us. I am presuming they had reservations and were delayed in seating as we were. But while in line we found several people didn't have reservations. I had to copy what everyone else was doing and basically remind one of two hostesses that we had a reservation and ask when we would be seated. They could eliminate this problem with a pager system. Or simply decline taking reservations if they cannot handle that. At this point I had to conclude that the food must warrant this type of chaos. Waitress was fairly fast in getting drink and food order. The lone bartender was on top of her game. Drinks were immediate. Kitchen staff and food runners were overall good too. A two top seated after us got their food within 10 minutes. We did not. So we were hoping what we got was worth the wait. Steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare but arrived cold. Maybe the plate wasn't warmed or maybe it sat on the pass too long? The side salad and dressing was good. Bacon was great - but it's bacon. The pancakes were disappointing, which is what drew us here. Given the size of the pancakes we were hoping they were giant and fluffy. Instead they were giant and dense. The flavor was ok, but mostly from the fruit compote on top. Final memories were of the hostess weirdly standing in the middle of the dining room. I guess she needed a break from the line forming? Then a floor manager showed up to join her talking about how to fix the situation up front. Why they didn't do this behind closed doors is beyond me.

Yelp
I read and heard a lot of great things about this place and bookmarked it to visit in the near future. Finally, I was excited to come here with my boyfriend for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. A young friendly hostess greeted us and took down our names. Then we waited for about an hour- we went around the area to explore a few stores. When we got back, it was our turn! A friendly waitress showed us our seats by the window and told us about specials on the menu. The menu had a lot of appetizing items, so we had a hard time picking. For drinks, we chose Mildred's House-Made Lemonade and Masala Chai Latte. For mains, my boyfriend picked Mrs. Biederhof's Wild Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes (served with a wild blueberry compote, Lanark County organic maple syrup and whipped cream) and I picked The Shak (two eggs baked in a mess of tomato, red pepper, harissa, cumin, coriander and smoked paprika topped with marinated feta, served with a lightly grilled fresh baked pita). The lemonade was refreshing and the latte was lightly sweet yet a bit spicy. Our mains were delicious- The Shak was full of spices and flavour. The Pancakes were moist and the toppings were tangy and sweet. We loved the pancakes so much that we ordered three more to share- they were that yummy! Friendly service, great food, relaxing vibe- you can't go wrong! Tip: Walk-in only, so show up early! Wait time is about an hour.

Yelp
Make a reservation ahead or be prepared to wait over an hour. It's located in King Liberty so there are shops for you to walk around while waiting for your table Never had a salmon eggs Benedict in a croissant before and the buttery flakes of the croissant meshed so well with the creaminess of the hollandaise and egg yolk. Get the roasted rosemary potatoes with the garlic aioli! Never had the deep fried version, but the roasted ones were amazing. Not sure if it's up to the chef on how they want to cook their potatoes that day. The blueberry Buttermilk pancakes are delicious and the nonsweetened whip cream balanced very well with the sweet blueberry compote. I'm not sure how it worked, but the packages were dense and fluffy at the same time. Definitely a shareable item! It was impressive to see people getting their own.
