This store provides tax free and the counter is located on the top floor. Staff is not that friendly at the cashier check out, maybe it’s always busy and they are frustrated? Worth checking it out if you are around the area.

You’d need to pay on the 7th floor for duty free discount. If you spend over 10,000 yen, sign up on their website as a member for another additional discount. There are over 25 cashiers so the lineup went fast. The items I found were a lot cheaper than at home. I already made two trips during this visit. I was able to stock up on beauty products plus Xmas is coming! Try to go early in the day or late as it’s less busy. If you don’t think you have time to shop, no worries as they’re open 24 hours.

We walked in and then straight back out again. Too chaotic! 😖 As I prefer a quieter shopping experience, I tried again at 7 - 8am on a Monday morning. There was barely anyone in there which made browsing a lot easier. Mainly there were just staff restocking the shelves. My main goal was to pick up some last minute souvenirs to take home. I wandered around in there for about 1.5 hours 😯. They have plenty of the different flavoured Kitkats (the cheaper multi packs are roughly ¥300 for 10 or 12 Kitkats). A plus point for Don Quijote is that it a handy one-stop-shop featuring a wide range of products across its many floors (clothes, beauty products, food, suitcases, toys etc.) I bought some bath salts, soup sachets, a magnet, Pocky, furikake and rice crackers. A downside is that the quality of some products isn't the best & some goods could be found cheaper elsewhere. So be a discerning shopper! I appreciated the bold aesthetic of the store with its hanging lanterns & decorations, hand-drawn signs & colourful graphics! 🐧⭐🏮 If, like me, you think the two penguin mascots (Donpen & Donko!) for the Don Quijote brand are very cute then there are some products in the store featuring them! I spotted shopping bags, plushies, socks, t-shirts, hats, rubber clogs & figurines. I got myself a large Donki themed shopping bag for about ¥990.

Though it's a massive store, the aisles are narrow and the space is compact, giving it a maze-like vibe. It's incredibly easy to fill up your basket with an assortment of items as you explore! For tourists, this place is a gem, with tax-free options for souvenirs, snacks, and skincare from popular Asian brands. You'll also find clothing, bags, kitchenware, quirky items like themed eye masks, magnets, blankets, and even giant stuffed animals. The cashier checkout is on the 7th floor, which is also helpful to know in advance. Prices vary--some items are affordable, while others lean more expensive, so it's a mix. Yelp Review 2024 #191: The biggest Don Quijote store in Japan is MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya Main Store. It has 7-9 floors (2 underground floors...and I totally lost count) and it's open 24/7! It's a place to shop for snacks or souvenirs to bring home. If you spend over 5000 Yen as a tourist, you get tax-free pricing! I wouldn't recommend getting over 5000 Yen-worth of snacks to eat while in Japan as you have to keep your tax-free purchases in the sealed bags. Instead, buy a little at a time for snacking. Do your big shopping on your last day. As soon as you walk in, to your left is a 10 Yen Pancake stall. In front are escalators going up and going down. The 2 underground floors are for ready-to-eat food/ bento, fruits, vegetables, groceries. First floor (where you started) has all the snacks, contact lenses, shirts, bags, caps, hoodies, costumes, etc. Second floor has the biggest assortment of different flavors of Kit Kats, matcha things, tea, Ichiran ramen, dog toys, etc. Third floor has makeup and skincare products, and supplements. Fourth floor has second-hand luxury bags, shoes, clothes. Fifth floor has cleaning supplies, children's toys and a closed off section for adult toys (why they're on the same floor don't ask me!). Sixth floor is for electronics. Seventh floor has suitcases, bags, more souvenir items and the tax-free counters - it's crazy busy and the lines are long! Which is why I returned all the items I had in my hand and told myself to try another day. So, it seems like they have 9 floors total now that I broke it down. My advice is avoid this place from 6pm-11pm because it's super busy. If you have jet lag, come here at odd hours like 1am-8am if you want a more peaceful shopping experience.

One stop shop for souvenirs, things for yourself and anything you can think of. In the heart of Shibuya you'll find this mega donki that has anything and everything! Once you walk in, you'll see that they have the popular ten yen cheese pancake on the first floor. It smells heavenly in there. On the first floor you'll also see a large display of multiple aisles selling coloured contacts. Throughout the entire store, you'll find things such as great souvenirs, snacks and Japan exclusives. Things here are very affordable and you can get tax free shopping over 5,000 yen. It's very busy here to the point where it's quite uncomfortable and chaotic to shop here. So come during off peak hours like early in the morning.

MEGA Don Quijote / Shibuya (Tokyo) -- Wow, I've been to the Don Quijote store near Waikiki Beach in Honolulu (review: https://yelp.to/-dLD8ADz8o), but this claustrophobic eight-floor space bears little resemblance except for the overstock inventory. The Honolulu store is more of a huge supermarket whereas this one is like a tourist-centric Walmart. Personally I found it overwhelming, though Jamie W. appreciated the extensive selection of travel backpacks. Me? So much stuff! So many bodies! So many floors! That's the best way to sum up the experience. Luckily I came early morning when most were sleeping otherwise I don't think I could have handled shopping. They offer tax free if you spend over $5500 yen. Mega Donki obviously offers more more more than other locations so definitely get your goodies here. They have a wide array of everything you could possibly need plus more junk. I'm glad I got to experience it while in Japan but also glad that my Target and Walmart at home isn't this overwhelming or triggering to my anxiety lol

This place is wild! How can a store be so overwhelming? Well, many stories high with advertising all over and fun music in the background with tons of stuff everywhere will do it. You can find almost anything here. I will say that it seemed a bit overpriced on souvenir type items but if you're a in pickle and looking for last minute gifts, you will find what you need and looking for here. Be prepared if this is your first time. You will some time. Also, waiting to be checked out could take some time too.

Staff: They were all nice and welcoming. Quality/Quantity: This store is huge at 8 floors if I am not mistaken. Floor after floor of great products to suit your needs. Everything from medicine, snacks, clothes, toys, costumes, electronics, etc. Value: Pricing seems fair. If you are a non local be sure to take advantage of the tax Free benefits. Be sure you have your passport. They will pack up and seal the items as you're not allowed to open them while in Japan given this tax free benefit. Overall: Really good option of places to visit to pick up souvenirs. Pro tip: You cannot open or eat an item before paying as it is considered stealing in Japan.

This CRAZY, MEGA Don Quijote is open 24-HOURS! I think it's an ok store and a good browse while in Japan's Shibuya district. This MEGA DON is MASSIVE, with 7 floors of disorganized chaos of merchandise, from legit cosmetics to absolute dollar-store junks. Warning: This place gets VERY CROWDED!, with long lines on the 7th floor for Tax Refund Cashiers (think 20-30 mins wait for check out) Hint: I suggest upon arrival, go to the 7th floor and work yourself down each floor. Expect to spend HOURS here ! ;)

24 hours convenience... Though now it doesn't seem to cater to foreign visitors through the standard omiyage of snacks and sweets. Back in the day they'd fill the first floor section of the wall to wall of Kit Kats still is enormous in size compared to Shinjuku, Meguro, and dozens more locations scattered around Tokyo. Making the journey isn't easy as Shibuya is insanely crowded and the train station is still under some construction/renovations which making exiting when your'e unfamiliar a mistake you really don't want to make as it can take you to far away locations as I wasn't prepared to know about it all. They do the tax free service here as well obviously though I'm more of a muchies kinda gal over the gaming and electronics which I do love but don't really come here for that. The prices and value isn't much of a deal for the location and effort needed to be made is not worth it for me unless they return to what it used to be instead of the massive cosplay/costume items they currently have here now. どうもありがとうございます!

So easy to find what you need (and don't need) here. We had to get extra luggage to check-in our shopping haul. Very cramped and busy spaces on each level.

Different strokes, I guess.... So I was told by some locals that this is a great place to get 'deals' on all kinds of stuff you may need for the home. I already had a sense of the place from the name (Don Quijote) and the fact that most folks just call it 'Donki'. So I arrive, and I see the entrance...and just beyond that. OK, so it's kitschy...feels like Vegas or something. Fun, right?? So I start to walk around...I see lots of 'cheap crap'. But I give it a try. I look around. I go up to the next floor. And, in no time at all, the sensory overload was getting on my nerves.... All the junk there. The noise. And....in the health and beauty aids sections...and the housecleaning area.... the smell of overly-perfumed products was making my physically ill. I practically RAN out of the place. Definitely not for me.

MEGA DONKI!! This is probably one of the best Don Quixote to visit in Tokyo. I know it's full of tourists and sometimes the merchandise is strewn everywhere. However, you can know for certain that you will be able to find something here. The Kit Kat here is relatively cheaper, but I couldn't find flavors like melon at the time of visit in July 2023. They had strawberry, matcha, milk tea, dark chocolate, and some others I wasn't interested in. My favorite is the snacks here obviously, but you can buy other home goods at Donki. Each floor has tons of stuff. It can take a good hour or two to go through everything. There is a line for foreigners who want to not have to pay taxes. This is very helpful because you don't have to take any papers or get anything stamped at the airport! It might be a good idea to get all your things in one shopping trip to take advantage of this tax-free shopping. I think they have a minimum spend, maybe ¥5000 or so. I'm going to say this is a must visit while in Tokyo!

Tax-free employees are extremely rude. They thought we didn't understand Japanese but ha, little did they know we put on a poker face and this is on them. I doubt their boss is going to do anything about it since it seems like almost everyone there at this specific location. But wanted it write a review so you know what to expect. There is a pro that this store is huge if not the largest Donki. There are 7 levels worth of merch. However, the tax-free cashiers had to voice their opinions about us in Japanese thinking we don't know. They snickered at the things we were buying... from their store lol. Why not snicker at their own store instead of us, their customers? Lol. Didn't understand that but ok. They called us weird for buying so much stuff however we weren't the only ones that bought souvenirs for friends... so my best guess? They probably say this about everyone else. Their store also display phallus items out in the open where children walk by. Yet the girls were judging us for buying lingerie and underwear. Terrible customer service, -999/ 10 if I could.

It felt like every last young tourist in Tokyo was squeezed into this building the night I went, though if you're unsure where to get Kit Kats or a water bottle that fits your backpack, this is a good catch all.

**June 2023: Wednesday Afternoon Visit** I actually came here twice, once to just see what the store offered and once to make purchases. This store is massive - and you will be overly stimulated by all the kawaii items and packaging. The prices here are moderate. I'd say this is like a Target equivalent, but geared toward tourists as the 7th floor is where shoppers can make duty-free purchases. They have everything from electronics, luggage, souvenirs, snacks, costumes, makeup, groceries, and everything in between. I think I spent around $200 USD here and would have spent more if my luggage allowed (which it didn't) lol. Be sure to bring your passport for duty-free purchases!

A huge market, but surprisingly missing some of the products that the other Don locations have. You'll get all kind of goodies here and a perfect spot for souvenirs for your family and friends back home. It's a large store, and can get chaotic, but I guess for the price point here, it makes sense.

Your one stop shop for souvenirs to take back home! From cosmetics, to toys, food and snacks, you can find the perfect Tokyo-centric gifts for anyone. This location is a few blocks from Shibuya station and MASSIVE with different category of items on each floor. As a huge tourist spot, it is chaotic and crowded but still recommend viewing each floor - you never know what you'll find! Don't forget your passport! Tax free counters on the top floor.

June 2023. Shopping for gifts "Mega" is right. Compared to the location in Shinjuku, it felt like it was bigger, cleaner and had more merch. I could be wrong but that's how I felt. Eight floors of stuff. From groceries to cosmetics. Alcohol to electronics. You name it - pretty sure they had it. Within reason of course. I say eight because there's one thru seven but also a basement. Basement is where you'll find the alcohol. Seventh is where you'll find the duty free registers. Bring your passport. Know that for duty free, they'll package and seal those purchases. If you plan to use or eat them in Japan, they won't be eligible for duty free. I asked. I had both snacks and alcohol I wanted to try. I asked staff - a lot of items you'll find across the chain of locations, but there will be items that you might only find at one store. Just know that in case you're at one location and you're thinking you'll find it at another. Give yourself time to wander all the floors. You never know what you'll come across.

This place is the Walmart of Tokyo. It has just about anything you need including bedding toppers. I had a particularly hard bed on our hotel and ended finding a cushioned seat cover that sufficed, but today found out that this location had cushioned bed covers which would have been much better. There is a top floor where you can buy items tax free, however you must have your passport or Visit Japan QR code. Their mascot is a cute little bird. There is a bathroom on the 2nd floor which I was very happy to find. In total this location has 7 floors. The items in this store were overly crowded on each floor and it may be hard to find something in particular.

Inside this gigantic discount store on the first floor is the ten yen treat! It's basically a big slab of mozzarella cheese placed inside waffle batter and cooked into a ten yen coin iron press. This was a wonderful combination and tasty treat after a long day of walking around the shops. Tip: you do have to get a ticket first from a vending machine just before entering the line since they will ask for a ticket instead of you paying upfront.

After reading some of the past reviews, it seems the main issue lies with the tax-free cashiers on floor 7. Unfortunately, I had a similar experience with rude cashiers who snickered and laughed while making derogatory comments in Japanese. I understood some of what they were saying but chose not to escalate the situation since we were rushing to the airport. However, this unpleasant encounter was a disappointing end to an otherwise great trip to Tokyo. If possible, I would advise avoiding this store, particularly cashier 43 and the others nearby. Although they speak English, they seem to lack basic knowledge about how passports and visas work, which is frustrating. It's clear they need more training, and perhaps this is why they're stuck working here rather than in other retail stores where I had no issues claiming tax-free. The claim that this store has a "special" tax-free policy is simply laughable. Tax-free policies are regulated and standardized for all tourists shopping in such stores, so any suggestion of a special policy is misleading and untrue.

This place is massive. 8 stories(including basement) of just stuff. So many different kinds of stuff. From groceries, to hair products, to sex toys(yes, there is an adult area with sex toys and stuff I think on the 5th floor), and much much more. It's like Walmart or target, but on crack. Mega busy all the time, for good reason. And I think it's open 24/7? Come here if you wanna find a good reason to waste money on random stuff.

I love stopping here in Tokyo! I pretty much would pop into the shop everyday on my way back to my hotel. They have anything and everything you can think of. Reasonably priced. Be prepared for stairs if you want to get around quicker!

If you want souvenirs this is the place to go but warning it is not for the faint of heart or weary. The amount of stuff crammed in every nook and cranny is an overwhelming stimulus so it takes a Herculean effort and patience to go through each section and each floor (there's 7). But if you like overstimulation and crowds and don't mind spending hours in one spot, go for it!

One RUDE Employee from Donki in Shibuya today really spoiled my visit ... 1st time IN Japan with a RUDE female employee with bleached hair older, not t a young girl pointed where item was, when I looked I asked where is it please, she made a short laugh like " are you kidding me Lady?!" & finally came around to point it out to me. Asked another employee to speak to a Manager, she seemed scared & a Manager ( young lady) spoke to me. While I explained that I'm a Manager in Hawaii , we never treat OUR Customers that way. And so that RUDE employee came & explained to Manager her side, Manager told her something & left, Manager google translated to me she apologized for incident & if I needed further assistance to ask her. Donki Shibuya, it takes just one employee to make your staff suffer. Employee needs to be retrained under Supervisor , Customer service is key

Love this store, they are open 24/7. Stock up on all the cheap snacks!! We also tried the viral 10 yen coin which is a pancake/waffle thing with mozzarella cheese in it. It's pretty good and the cheese pull is great. The 10 yen coin stall is at the back of the first floor and closes at 9pm. You can't eat in the store itself so you have to eat it outside.

Wanted to buy snacks and cosmetics for an affordable price! There store is huge with multiple floors for different categories of items. You can either pay on the floor you're on or you could pay on the first floor. There are a variety of products to choose from and the workers are very kind and friendly too. I didn't know how to speak Japanese but I had help from the workers on where to look to find the items I wanted. There are also rare Kit Kat flavors I have never seen anywhere else in the world besides here!

Insane! American dollar store on steroids!! Several floors of pretty much everything at cheap prices. You will spend at least 2 to 3 hours just to peruse.

We were walking after dinner and surprisingly ran into a Donki. If you're a Donki fan you know it's always neat to check out their stores to see what fun stuff you can find. This one in Gotanda is off the beaten path so it's less busy. They didn't carry that many souvenirs but had a large snack and food section.

It's a madhouse! I had sensory overload with the noise and crowds. It's basically an impulse shopping experience. I didn't think the prices were that great for souvenirs and stuff compared to Amazon.

Be sure to make it out to a Don Quijote if you're looking to bring a nice haul of snacks and goodies back home from Japan! All the locations had so many cool things to look at and buy as souveneirs to take back to the states, and this specific location was no exception. This specific Don Quijote had about six floors right in the heart of Shibuya (a little after the Shibuya crossing). I purchased all my ramen (including some Ichiran) here as well as some candy. If you're not consuming these items while in Japan, be sure to head to the third floor to avoid any taxes. You have to bring your passport though to be tax-free, so be sure to bring it!

Disappointing! They have very low quality items and not much variety. The store is huge! But it's kind of filled up with junk. I had read so many good things about it, but again, was very disappointed.

This store is huge! I now understand how the locals can get by without a Wal mart or grocery store in site! This store has five floors of goods to purchase. From beauty, to food, to a HUGE selection of booze, this store has EVERYTHING you could need for your trip! I had to check out the alcohol selection! I was highly impressed with how many different drinks from all over the world they had! I had to get a bottle (or two) of Matcha Kahulah for the trip! I have never seen this flavor outside Japan, and it was super tasty! This store also had different and unique snacks to choose from! I could spend all day exploring this store, and still not see everything! I had to come back multiple times to get other special items and some items to take back home! I would love to have a store like this back home!

This megastore has everything you will ever need in Japan to bring back home as souvenirs. After my two week long trip, I stopped by here on the last day to stock up on Japanese snacks and items to give to friends and family. Since it's a megastore (as oppose to a regular store?), there were at least seven floors to go through, each one categorized by the types of items they contain. If you're looking to buy Ichiran Ramen, buy it here because it's cheaper than buying it in the actual restaurant. I also bought tons of cookies, pastries, candy, dried noodle cups, chocolates, and banana creme twinkies. If you're a fan of Kit Kat bars, this is THE place to get every single type of flavor you can think of. All of items I bought were priced between 198 to 1000 yen (appx $1.50-$9.25). If you're traveling from out of the country, make sure you bring your passport to so you save on taxes on one of the floor's cashier lines. However, that line is usually the longest (~30 mins wait) so it may not be worth it to save $5 or less in taxes.

Huge Don Quijote store. The live fish tanks out front were quite impressive. Lots of different Kit Kat flavors. I also found the soft milk candy in large bags for 500 yen that weren't sold in the Shinjuku store. The basement has a large grocery store.

Our friends, who live in Shibuya, took us here and we were amazed! It was like the Walmart/Target of Japan. You can find almost everything in here. We found some Japanese Whisky that sold for $20ish dollars and sold for close to $200 in the US! Wished we discovered this early on our trip! We would've love to come back, but only discovered it on our 2nd to last day of Japan!

Funny how everyone who reviews this place is from the States. Where are all my Japanese peeps at? This MEGA store is essential when in the area. If you stop off and buy things here and there, you'll find this store will most likely have it at a fraction of the cost. We spent about $50 in matcha tea alone here. It's the best place to purchase souvenir snacks and drinks to bring back home to share (or not). Since most of the people are from the US, make sure to pay on the 3rd floor instead of the 1st. Here, you can present your passport and they will not charge you sales tax on items you don't consume on Japanese soil so and to ensure this, they do some funky drug cartel-type packaging with tamper-proof tape. You are supposed to separate out the items that you will enjoy during your visit so they don't seal these items and charge you tax. I found the large bundles they sealed to not fit well in my luggage well so I repackaged them and guess what? Customs didn't even check! So why the heck did they wrap my stuff like it was 9 kilos of Nicaraguan goodies from El Chapo? If you are in the area make sure you check this place out! Costco doesn't exist and this is the next best thing without any membership.

This place has literally everything. So much so that it's kinda chaotic, but it's the best chaos ever. The first thing you see when you walk in is Kit Kat. Walls and walls of Kit Kat. This was by far my favorite part of this store. If you're looking for a place to get a haul of Japanese Kit Kat, like any responsible tourist would, I would definitely recommend coming to Don Quijote. It's not just on the first floor either, you can find even more Kit Kat on the floors above. I bought ~$50 worth of Kit Kat here. Kinda regret, but also not really. As for the rest of the store, like I said, you can find pretty much everything. Toys for kids, electronics/devices for hard-core dads, cooking utensils, clothes, and endless endless snacks. Sounds bleak, but what made this place stand out to me was that everything is Japanese, including all the snacks. So if you're looking to get a good haul of Japanese snacks, in addition to the marvelous Kit Kat, this place is the place to go. Even if you don't plan on buying much, it's still an experience to come here just because of the sheer quantity of stuff they have.

They have everything you could ever want. Food, cosmetics, shoes, shirts, etc. Best place to go souvenir shopping at! The only reason I took away one star is that there was one Korean worker at the cash register (She started speaking korean to me after seeing my passport) and she was SO RUDE. Working in such a hectic environment can be stressful, I get it. She just left a bad taste in my mouth but otherwise a really fun place!

I think I visited this store more than 3 times during my 1 week Tokyo trip. This is like Target on STEROIDS ( if you're from the US). They have everything you need and more. They have things you didn't even know you needed. This location is open 24 hours and HUGE. The prices are slightly cheaper here than smaller Don Quijote locations. It can get super crowded with tourists so I advise you to come early morning or late at night in the weeee hours. I'd also bring an empty suitcase or duffel bag to take your goodies back to your place. If you are a foreigner don't forget your passport to get tax refund! Don't check out on the first floor, you need to checkout and pay at the taxcounter on the 2nd or 3rd floor ( sorry I forgot but there are a million signs to guide you), The boba is pretty good for a decent price! The shiba bread is also super tasty and makes for a cute instagram photo. The boba and bread is not open 24 hour though :(

This place is huuuuuge. Can get all the snacks and Japanese cosmetics and groceries from this place. Shop assistants were very helpful in terms of helping you blinding what you want from the shelf. They also speak mandarin.

The Tax Free Counter really does take a long time and is a hassle to wait for. This mega store with 6 floors sells items for almost every conceivable need. Of course, the products are mostly drugstore quality so I prefer Donki for buying snack foods, inexpensive beauty items like face washes, and cleaning supplies. Still, it's pretty fun to browse and marvel at the sheer volume of items they sell.

The MEGA Don Quijote, Don Ki for short is 5 floors of everything and anything you can think of buying! I saw all kinds of Kit Kat flavors here, from strawberry to soy sauce, yes soy sauce kitkat to cough drops!! The best find here is the 1 Michelin star dandan cup of ramen!! Costs $2 but sooo worth it, soooo good!! Lotsa different ramen flavors. Socks are also cheap here and lotsa great cosmetic finds like eyebrow tattoos abd Shiseidos. Located in Shibuya, and yes please do the Shibuya scramble crossing while you're here! Fun!

Why DOESN'T this place have? Recommend skipping on the weekends due to volume, but def go during the off hours!

MUST VISIT! Yes, you must visit when you're in tokyo. This may be the biggest and best Donki I have ever visited. There are about 6 floors of shopping and then 2 basement floors of restaurants and food/supermarket. Every floor contains many different things such as electronics, personal items, snacks, etc. The main floor is where you can find all the souvenir snacks so make sure to visit there last! Third floor is tax free counter if you're a foreigner.

Mega Don Quixote - mega experience. Six floors of 24/7 shopping, semi-organized, packed with shoppers during prime hours, but a MUST for anyone visiting Tokyo. The selection is pretty varied but I like the local candies and KitKats I found here to take back to the States. Otherwise, the souvenirs are pretty standard from what you'll see at many other shops sprinkled through Japan. Subtracting one star for the general chaos that is the 3rd floor. That's the cosmetics and tax-free checkout and one to avoid unless you absolutely need to save a few yen. Overall, I enjoyed spending to a couple hours here and was able to stock up on the candies and kitsch to take back to the US.

It's the Mega DQ! It's not as messy and confusing (or as much as a gigantic FIRE HAZARD) as the Shinjuku store. The aisles are pretty clear and there is definite organization to this store. This MDQ has probably everything you need from a grocery store to electronic store to clothing store to jewelry store... you get the idea. It's like a mecca of stores. It just has everything and is open 24 hours. We went there almost every night at the end of the day just to grab snacks, dinner or just to end the day with a walk inside the store. So glad it is there near our Airbnb (like 2 minute walk) and was able to grab whatever we needed. Like honey... I just wanted honey one day and I got it. Or some souvenirs. They have those too. They have EVERYTHING.
