Maverick Downtown

Location: Centrally located in Budapest, close to the airport bus stop, metro, and local transport. The building itself is a beautiful, historic structure. Communication: The staff was incredibly easy to communicate with, both before and during my stay. They were very considerate of guests’ special needs and preferences. Rooms: The 6-bed room was surprisingly spacious, making it comfortable for everyone. Cleanliness: The hostel was very clean overall. The bed mattresses, pillows, and duvets were of excellent quality and new, with no stains, and everything was freshly ironed. Services: Towels are included, and there’s 24-hour access to coffee and tea. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, and the living room provides a comfortable space for all guests. The reception offers help and service around the clock. Staff: The staff was exceptionally friendly and always ready to help. Room for improvement: The only thing I’d suggest improving is the cleaning staff's breakfast schedule. From about 7:30 to 8:45 every morning, they use the kitchen, which makes it difficult for guests to access the limited seating in such a small space.

I had an amazing experience staying at Meavrick Hostel in Budapest! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff who made check-in a breeze. The atmosphere was warm and social, perfect for meeting fellow travelers. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with spacious dorms and private rooms. The common areas were great for relaxing or socializing, and the free breakfast was a nice touch to start the day. The location is also ideal—close to public transport, great cafes, and major attractions. I highly recommend Meavrick Hostel for anyone visiting Budapest! It's affordable, comfortable, and full of positive energy.

The location of the hostel is amazing and the amenities in the area are great. Staff are lovely and willing to help. It's a calm and quiet place and very spacious. As a first time female solo traveller, I am glad I picked this place. There is 24 hour check in and there is also free storage, don't forget your own padlock :). It is very safe and I highly recommend. The bathroom in the female dorm was clean and this was my main worry. You will see people of all ages, not just teens/students.

**Very cold and heating not working in November* Our room (a dorm of 6 bed) was very cold when we arrived, we thought at first it was because it was early (we checked in around 4pm) and maybe the heating wasn’t on. We we arrived to our dorm the first night and it was freezing cold. We went down to reception and asked why the heating wasn’t working and we were told that it was a known problem with that room and they thought it was fixed. No solution was given to us that night other than giving us more blankets. Next morning, someone came into our room, without knocking (luckily we weren’t sleeping or naked) they didn’t say anything and they left. Soon after some else from reception came to check that the heating wasn’t working and that we hadn’t turned off the room heating radiator. She could see that it was in fact open and that it wasn’t working and the woman from reception brought us 2 electric radiators cause there was no option to move us to another room. The third day, when we came to the room, someone had taken one of the electric radiators we were given while we were out and of course the main heating radiator wasn’t working and room was freezing cold despite management saying it was working fine. It is November and the weather outside is cold, so leaving your guests to be cold it is something that it doesn’t deserve even 1 star. Also, the building is very old and it’s not well taken care off, the rooms are very old looking and the walls are not in the best condition either. The only good thing about this hostel is the location and the guy working at night is very nice. We do not recommend this hostel at all

We stayed here for a couple of nights, and were very pleased with the room, service and the atmosphere. Especially Hanni and Adél in the reception had a lot of good recommendations for restaurants etc. ||We will definitely consider stayed here next time we visit Budapest! ||Thank you so much!

I spent the most beautiful three nights in this wonderful , amazing historical hotel in the heart of the city, an excellent location, you do not need transportation, everything is next to you, the most important places, landmarks, restaurants, museums, anything that comes to your mind. It is also quiet, clean and everything is available. Do not hesitate and book now, you will not find better. & The receptionist, "Khalil" received me, very kind and friendly , and he also helped me on my last day to order a taxi and carry my things. A special thank you, I wish you success and also in your studies bro ! Thanks for giving me the memory card and chocolate, I'll be back soon.

90% if everything was great only the morning Hungarian receptionist man was rude a bit but other than that the night Persian receptionist was extremely welcoming and professional. The place is well maintained n, luggage was safely kept, and above all friendly people someone offered me breakfast and other some chocolate. The men's bathroom was the better to use 🥰👏 I think very great value for all.

Location is the best that only few steps from metro and 1 metro station for airport bus. staffs stand by for 24 hours and rooms are big and comfortable although our heater in the room wasn’t work and staff can’t fix it. There is luggage storage.
