"Pombaline, a style of architecture found in 18th-century Portugal, is the design inspiration behind Matiz Pombalina, a bar set in a former residential building in old Lisbon. Original stone walls meld with wooden flooring, velvet, and Louis XIV-style armchairs; a tiled terrace is a refuge for smokers. The classics are solidly represented here—Cuba Libre, Moscow Mule—as are creative house specialties. Gin drinks are particularly strong; try the refreshing TimeOut, made with pineapple, kiwi, passionfruit, and Pisang Ambon, a tropical liqueur." - Alia Akkam

What a beautiful place to have a glass of wine. The atmosphere was the best we have experienced in Lisbon. (We have been in Lisbon 6 times for over 180 days). The wine was the best. Mario was so friendly and helpful. He explained where the wine came from, the variety of grapes……. We will be returning often.

Gem of a cocktail bar! Such a unique spot to enjoy excellent cocktails with a couple friends. The bartender is incredibly thoughtful when taking your order, even giving recommendations or offering to make an off menu drink.

Love this place! Great neighborhood bar- we stumbled upon it as it was close to our Air BnB. We loved the decor- feels dapper! Talked with owner about Portugal while sipping on our gin cocktails. Romantic but feels like it could be a fun group location as well with the layout. Nice selection of bottles.

It's a great bar, craft cocktails and a very knowledgeable bartender. The own takes pride in hand choosing his alcohol served, some of the bottles you've never heard of but they are all very fine. Ring the doorbell and head on in. You pay for what you get at this bar and the prices are fair for the quality

Excellent cocktail bar! The atmosphere is very relaxing, with jazz music in the background and comfortable decor. And the owner is extremely friendly. Best mule I've ever had, though it's called a "Cold War" on the menu. They used fresh ginger and a ginger infused vodka from Sweden.
