Marquis Los Cabos, An All-Inclusive, Adults Only & No Timeshare Resort

BOOK NOW! This place is amazing! The service is top notch, beach front rooms that were clean and beds comfortable. The coffee shop I took full advantage of, breakfast buffet you can’t beat, and a ton of food options for dinner. Our favorite was the Pergola and Hibachi. The lunch at Dos Marcos was super tasty as well, we loved the fish tacos and pork tacos. Overall GREAT SERVICE. A ton of fun activities throughout the day and entertainment every night! The views are spectacular. We walked to the swim area quite a bit and enjoyed the ocean! Even got to ride horses at sunset with Jorge, super fun experience and he is a great guide! We felt safe and will definitely be back.

We spent a week at Marquis and had the most incredible time - it's a beautiful resort with amazing staff and a huge variety of activities, entertainment and restaurants. We had spent 3 days beforehand at a more expensive/luxury resort and worried about Marquis matching those standards, but we really needn't have done and our expectations were exceeded. The rooms are clean and comfortable with housekeeping visiting twice a day, there are plenty of loungers (albeit we weren't quite in high season, so the resort might not have been at full capacity). We had booked all of our restaurants in advance (and ate at Pergola 3 times we loved it so much!), but the resort puts on themed nights with food which are excellent, so we'd very much recommend doing those. Location wise, there isn't anything within walking distance and the beach isn't swimmable, but that's the case with most resorts on this stretch of beach and we felt no need to leave the resort anyway!

The service was fantastic and every person I interacted with was beyond kind and professional. There was never a long wait for food or drinks. However, the food options were sub par and lacking variety. The room service menu was limited. It felt like no matter which restaurant or room service option I ordered, something was always missing. The drinks are not strong at all— best to just order wine or champagne vs a mixed drink. I enjoyed a spa afternoon while I was there and the 80 minute deep tissue was amazing: worth every penny. I had a facial as well and it felt very disconnected. No actually order to process, it appeared the steamer was not working so she just stopped and proceeded with everything else vs swamping the machine. This was a $215 facial, I expected a lot more. I did try to explain this to the woman at the front desk but it seemed the language barrier made that challenging and she didn’t quite understand that I was unhappy with the facial service. So I was stuck to pay full price for someone else to basically just get wash my face and put a piece of Kleenex on my face at the end- very odd and frustrating. Overall, the hotel is beautiful. And the pool are was incredibly peaceful and I did not have to “save a chair” as you would at many all inclusive resorts. The only other things to mention is this part of Cabo is not beach accessible. You can lay in the limited chairs but it’s a strong hill to the ocean where the waves and currents are too strong for swimming and with the hill, laying on the beach does not provide a water view.

Pool rules are NOT enforced - there are rules for unattended items and personal speakers. Unnatended items are left to 'reserve' spots by the pool, leaving almost no chairs left as soon as 8 am. No matter what time of day, you will walk around to find all pool chairs taken by sandals, books, towels, until the actual guests show up hours later. Staff willfully ignores these. Same with personal speakers brought by other guests. You will hear music blasting from personal speakers around the pool, and staff will promptly ignore it. The hotel itself plays music by the pool and ocean, which can range from country to EDM. Puzzling given the sound of the waves is quite nice already. Raised these concerns with staff and was ignored.

We loved our stay at Marquis Los Cabos. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and wanted an all inclusive with no kids and this is the perfect location do so. The food was good overall, but some dishes are better than others. By the pool, I recommend the pepperoni pizza, French fries, and the tacos. For breakfast, the buffet was stocked with an assortment of foods that everyone will enjoy. Felt like we got the best bang for our buck during our stay and drinks were always full. The service was attentive and always willing to go the extra mile for us to make the stay most enjoyable. Highly recommended for those looking to get away from kids and relax.

Overall, an underwhelming stay. Before I detail my experience, I want to shout out the employees we felt made our stay memorable despite the short coming of the resort. Johnny & the rest of the entertainment team were a fun crew. They were personable and had great vibes. We enjoyed getting to know them a lot! Adriana is by the far the sweetest employee we encountered. She remembered our names and schedule, we constantly overheard other guests talking positively about her. Enrique at the breakfast buffet was also incredibly friendly & made us feel very welcomed. Even when he wasn’t our server, he passed by to say hello & chitchat. Rogelio was very responsive via email and helped me set up a birthday amenity for my partner. The amenity, however, was not fresh so we did not eat more than a bite. Overall, the property falls short in a lot of aspects: 1. The food was by far the most disappointing part of this trip. If you are a foodie, this is not the place for you. You expect bad food from a cheesy resort but they promote a 5 star resort culinary experience which was not the case. Food was bland and flavorless at all the outlets. We ate outside of the resort multiple times. In room dining was even worst - arrived cold, missing items. The staff also lacked knowledge about the menus. We were referred to the app to look at the menu descriptions but those weren’t helpful either. 2. The “all inclusive mini bar” are just snacks from Oxxo. From a 5 star resort, I thought we would get locally sourced, gourmet items… 3. The cocktails are tasty but you will not get an ounce of a tipsy vibe. We resorted to ordering wine/prosecco instead. 4. The infinity pools had lovely views but they were at times dirty. 5. Pool service was slow and forgot food modifications multiple times. We tipped regardless but it didn’t seem to make a difference. This might be a staffing issue since the resort wasn’t too full? 6. The rooms were spacious with a beautiful balcony but things constantly feel apart in the room (the blinds were partially unhooked, the light on the balcony didn’t work, light outlets were falling out, towel hangers coming out & hitting our foot). The tub was spacious but the crevices were dirty. 7. Mattresses had a massive dip in the middle making very hard to get rest at night. We asked for a king bed (same room size) and were quoted $800 USD with a “discount” applied. I slept better in the pool chairs. We actually bonded about this issue with other couples in the sakke dinner spot. 8. The garden for activities is just a small lawn. As much I loved the entertainment crew, this was a disappointment. We expected a tennis court, pickleball court and a basketball court (per their website description)…none of that. Just a small lawn. 9. Activities such as cooking classes were not offered (despite it being promoted on the website). We had a great trip to Cabo due to our itinerary but this resort didn’t add anything special in particular to our trip. The value of the money and amenities offered just don’t match up. The small details that make a luxury hotel were truly missing

No swimming in the beach, but plenty of swimming nearby in front of the Hilton and other beaches. The service is incredible and the rooms are so lovely! I recommend skipping the weekend crowds! We were here from a Tuesday to Saturday, and earlier in the week was way better... the weekend shows were pretty cool, though. Dinner is available by reservation only, which didn't bother me until the weekend guests came and filled all the reservations. Had to get dinner delivered by room service instead, but that was still really nice. Service got slower with all the guests, but that makes sense. And they still tried to keep everyone happy - the staff is so nice!
