Mandapa took my breath away. From the moment I entered till the minute I left, the experience here just kept getting more and more special. The property itself is secluded and stunning, right on the banks of the Ayung river and encircling some pristine rice fields. There is some striking natural element to marvel at whichever part of the property you’re in. We loved walking through the rice field after a particularly indulgent Balinese brunch, and just sitting in an elevated hut in the middle of the field to catch our breath and admire the surroundings.
Once you’re done admiring the nature (which will take a long time in itself), you can turn your attention back to the quietly elegant, cultural, but still modern architectural details that infuse the entire resort. I don’t think I’ve ever admired ceilings this much in my life. And the service! From the moment you step in, absolutely delightful service that makes you feel so cared for in every way. It felt like there was a whole host of people actively thinking about how to make your experience better at each moment.
All the restaurants are solid, but my favourite memory has to be watching the sun set from Ambar while drinking their inhouse brews and sampling delectable sushi. Every moment of your time at Mandapa has been designed to be delightful and I was thrilled. Cannot wait to return!
