"COVID-19 Update: Open for takeout and delivery.
Located in the Malibu Country Mart, the breezy sea vibe makes this feel like it could be on the shore back East (the owner is, in fact, from New York). The flat and crispy chocolate chip cookies and cranberry muffin are particularly delicious, as is the tuna salad sandwich and fried chicken (when available, which is rare). There are a few tables scattered about, though most take their loot to go. Keep in mind that lines stretch out the door on weekends. (Hint: Don't have your cell phone out while ordering—the staff here tends to get grumpy if a customer is distracted during the process.)

The regular gatherings are negatively impacting businesses by causing congestion, says the Los Angeles Times." - Mona Holmes
Where To Eat After A Hike In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"There are a few sandwich shops inside the Malibu Country Mart, but the one you should go to is Malibu Kitchen. It’s owned by a native New Yorker and by simply stepping inside you’re transported to Long Island in the best way - you’ll probably be curtly asked to hurry up or slow down, the chip and beverage options are endless, and the delicious made-to-order sandwiches come out quick. The moist pulled pork on ciabatta is better than many BBQ spots, but even if you go with turkey, a reuben, or an assortment of sides like tuna salad or mac and cheese from the deli case, your refuel lunch will be a guaranteed success." - Brant Cox
Malibu Kitchen Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"Malibu Kitchen is a deli owned by a New Yorker in the heart of the Country Mart. Step inside, and be transported to Long Island in the best of ways - the owner might curtly ask you to hurry up or slow down, the chip and beverage options are endless, and the made-to-order sandwiches are the best in Malibu - and way better (and are made faster) than the ones from John’s Garden across the way. The pulled pork on ciabatta outshines what we’ve had at most BBQ spots, but even if you go with turkey, a reuben, or an assortment of sides from the deli case, you’ll be set for your day at the beach or quick lunch afterwards.

Where To Eat After Hitting The Beach" - Arden Shore
Would like to point out a couple things! Most people note that the staff is very unfriendly and rude. We went into this expecting the worst when it came to service but instead were greeted with the usual north eastern hospitality, which might be taken as coldness to some west coasters. The staff members we interacted with were friendly, helpful and efficient. We were there before the lunch menu started (11:45am) so they told us they could make almost anything for breakfast with what they had on hand. We ordered two breakfast burritos and they were fabulous. Very filling. Fresh ingredients. The only reason we are not giving them 5 stars is because there was no written or typed up breakfast menu, which led to some confusion. Coffee was good too! Plenty of colorful seating outside and some seating inside.

Very stale and hard red velvet cupcake. Looking at reviews, that blonde woman was the one I got my baked good from. She can be abrasive and should never work in customer service. Will never go back!

I've stopped by here several times, usually for snacks or drinks for the beach. The sandwiches are great. However, i did just try a breakfast bagel sandwich here (with H and H bagels) and it was terrible, just objectively speaking, bagel was burnt, bacon was burnt, bagel was old, entire sandwich was so dry i couldn't swollow a bite without a sip of coffee, just a nightmare, even by la's admittedly spotty standards (i love the bagel broker in central la and maury's on the east side.) To be fair, i still ate about half. Next time ill try the breakfast burrito for sure.

Excellent sandwiches & desserts. Expect to wait in line to order. Big selection though. An absolute "must try" place. Patio seating and completely casual.

I Have PTSD that’s why I have a Service Dog and after what she did it hurts me to even want to go to Malibu Kitchen and it’s hard for me to be around a lot of people that’s why I went there early morning that day and then have her patch that says service dog on her caller. And I don’t want to Deal with that again if I do go in there to get Coffee or get something to eat. How do I let you know I’m coming back to the store

Awesome place for any time of day! My wife loves their Reuben sandwich and I love the bbq pulled pork sandwich. It's a fast pace place so make sure you know what you want beforehand.

Eh. The pulled pork sandwich was average. Nice little shop but considering that it's Malibu, it is overpriced as expected

Yelp
Breakfast bowl is the go.
It's healthy. It's happy.
It's now. It's wow!
Let's say you just spent 5 hours catching bombs at First Point Malibu, or you just rode your bike all the way to the top of Corral Canyon and then risked your neck racing back down.
Or you went free-diving for bugs and sheepshead and got a couple but they're for later.
Or you sprinted to the top of Saddle Peak.
You're so hungry you could eat the _______ out of a(n) ________ but you don't want to wreck that healthy energy vibe.
The Breakfast Bowl at Scott's Malibu Market is the way to go.
In this corner, fruits and fresh vegetables: Mixed greens, tomatoes, (fruit), radishes and avocados (also a fruit) and sauteed onions and peppers.
In the other corner two eggs as you like them, potatoes, cheddar cheese.
Mix it together and you got your protein, you got your vegetables and it sits nice.
Healthy! Happening!

Yelp
Scott's is spectacular! It feels like an old school, local restaurant where the staff is genuinely interested in the wellbeing of their customers. Scott, the owner, and his family are fantastic people. I will be coming here regularly.
The pastrami melt is my favorite sandwich! Such great flavor - the meat, cheese, pickles, bread...they also have terrific baked goods made fresh every day. If you're in Malibu, come try Scott's!

Yelp
Came here for lunch with the fam. I was sad when Malibu Kitchen went out but happy to see it's a similar concept. They modernized the interior and upscaled it a bit. We got the chicken club sandwich and the brisket sandwich. The chicken club was great. Packed with all the fixings. The brisket was mediocre. The flavor was okay but it was pretty fatty and there wasn't enough meat on the sandwich like a typical brisket sandwich. We were expecting the quality of the pulled pork sandwich when this restaurant was Malibu Kitchen and were disappointed. I would definitely get the chicken club again. The fries were good but make sure you know, the fries are a $5 up charge on top of the sandwich cost.

Yelp
I was going to visit friends and wanted to take dessert to their house, so I stopped by here yesterday afternoon. Jonah helped me and recommended the cupcakes. I got two red velvet and two chocolate cupcakes. If you buy three pastries, you get one free, which is nice. The cupcakes were a hit and were very good. They're pricey, $6 each. They do have other pastries as well. I will probably come back in the future for dessert or even lunch.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place out since they opened finally I stopped by today with my family while in the area. This spaced used to be Malibu kitchen and gourmet country market which we liked very much. Now that we ate here today I can tell you that we like this place as much. The sandwiches we ordered were fresh and delicious. I love the tuna salad sandwich on multigrain. My son enjoyed his bagel lox sandwich and my husband said his breakfast burrito was amazing. We also got black iced tea and loved it. After walking around the plaza for an hour we came back and got iced coffee and frozen coffee that was amazing. Like a slushy but coffee slushy. So so good. The customer service was friendly and welcoming. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. They also sell freshly baked pastries, cookies, cakes etc.... You will also find some snacks, ready to go sandwiches, salads and canned drinks. Perfect before heading to the beach for a picnic.
Overall a great place with great ambiance. We will be back.

Yelp
Wow so good!! Greek salad was very filling and delicious. The Italian sandwich was amazing. The Mac and cheese was huge and so so good! Beets and buffalo cauliflower are a must. Will 100% be back. Good ambiance food comes out quick and is casual. If you're looking for a great lunch or breakfast in Malibu come here.

Yelp
this place is fire!!!! they are always consistent and even tho its a bit pricey, the quality of food is SO good. I've tried a few things on the menu and all good! The drinks are good too--especially the iced tea. I tried this one day off a whim and now its a go to every week for Sunday brunch.

Yelp
Love their sandwiches! They are simple with good ingredients which is the way it should be. Flavorful and good size portion. Love the pickles and coleslaw too!

Yelp
I've been searching high and low for a good Kouign Amann in SoCal. So far Scott's is at the top of my list!
They've transformed this space into a bight, open, more modern spot that serves hot breakfast-y brunch-y dishes and a few different sandwiches, a few healthy chia & fruit bowls and a variety of drinks.
Scott of Scott's actually welcomes you in himself AND takes your order. Loving this new place!

Yelp
We found this place when we were visiting Malibu, it's very close to the beach and the locals kept raving about it. When you turn into the small market area, it's on the right.
The inside has a cafe/bakery as well as a food counter. The smell of the place permeated from outside, delicious!
We ordered two sandwiches and drinks; Turkey Brie and apple sandwich and the hot pastrami sandwich. The prices were very reasonable, and there was not much of a line because of how much help they had pushing thru customers. The sandwiches were delicious, so check this place out if you are in the area!

Yelp
absolutely love Scott's! Their croissants and big chocolate chip cookies are so good. The iced vanilla lattes are delicious too. The breakfast burrito is always a favorite, but I also like getting the breakfast sandwich--which you can build your own too. Mine is over medium egg, sausage patty, American cheese on an everything bagel. So good!
My top pick, though, is the breakfast bowl--healthy, filling, and super tasty. Great chill vibe, and the staff always are super attentive.

Yelp
The service is super friendly and the new remodel looks amazing...
Delicious pumpkin bread and homemade desserts! Sandwiches and salads are fresh made to order.

Yelp
Yum! The service is great! Super nice. Love the renovation and the food is great! The pesto is super flavorful! The caramelized onions add a wonderful flavor!

Yelp
Everything from the food, coffee, lemonade, atmosphere was 10/10. Every staff member we encountered was quite thoughtful and considerate - always thinking one step ahead of what our needs were. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Wow, we had the best lunch today at Scott's. We enjoyed the pastrami melt the chicken melt grilled chicken breast and the incredible french fries. lWe also added a yummy chocolate chip cookie possibly the best I've ever eaten. Service is very fast and friendly and it is such a pleasure to visit a restaurant like this The menu is outstanding with many options and lots of things to go as well. The bakery items are beautiful. This is definitely a place you shouldn't miss.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here today. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was perfectly constructed on a house made brioche bun that was top notch. In addition the avocado toast was simply delicious. We had two coffees and split a heavenly almond croissant, all the pastries are made on premise. The staff was friendly and apparently well trained, knowledgeable about preparation and ingredients. The comfortable seating on the outside patio makes this place a nice addition to Country Mart.
We will be back.

Yelp
Scott's has been such a great addition to malibu! Their avocado toast has me in a chokehold! I've also tried a few of their sandwiches and I haven't found anything I haven't liked. The service is always friendly and professional. There is outdoor seating, lots of parking, and the inside is spacious. There's two spots where you can order, the main is where you order food, while the other is where you order coffees and pastries. If you haven't tried out Scott's yet, you're missing out!

Yelp
Itemps purchased: Vegan Breakfast Burrito, Mediterranean salad.
Food:B, Vegan Burrito on the small side and Salad was drenched in dressing
Service: A, Ordertaker greeted us and was polite and courteous.
Cleanliness: B, Dining area and outside patio were messy.
value: B, Vegan breakfast burrito had NO alternative protein or Beans so was a touch overpriced.
Ambiance: B. Music choice and loudness were a little to much

Yelp
Visited here during Labor Day weekend with my dog. Has lots of outdoor seating for to get some food from the market. Service was good too! We got a turkey, burrata, apple and honey sandwich with beat salad. Delicious! For sure I'll be back for some other delicious dishes that we didn't get to try!
Natalia W.
Yelp
We have come to Scott's a few mornings since their opening and are so happy to support this new Malibu gem! Everything we have tried has been tasty & fresh. Today we came for breakfast and had the breakfast burrito & breakfast sandwich (on rye) We also tried one of the perfect looking pastries from the bakery - it was like a danish but with custard instead of cheese filling and there was an amazing crispy brûlée sugar bottom that made the flaky pasty to die for! The employees are all sweet and will take their time with you - if you're lucky you could even find The Scott behind the counter!
Kiki C.
Yelp
Seriously the best avocado toast I have ever had!! Try the avocado toast on sourdough with a once over easy egg on top, it's so good! The coffee was amazing too. And everyone who worked there was so friendly and happy. Ambiance was really nice as well, and everything was super clean.

Yelp
After finally trying some bites here I am so pumped about this addition to Malibu! The energy as soon as you walk in the door is magic. So welcoming and encouraging samples which we love!! The cute setup of tables outside has really made for such a warm local vibe in the mornings which I felt was missing in central Malibu so I'm feeling extra excited about that! Okay...the food. I got a tuna melt on ciabatta w cheddar & the vegan banana bread. To die for, both of them. My friend was sad she didn't see their chia seed pudding out but she was able to order one which they made fresh for her!! I can't wait to try everything on this menu!!! Truly one of new fave places in the Bu! Yay!
Jeff M.
Yelp
The breakfast bowl is incredible -- probably the best breakfast in Malibu. They don't scrimp on the avocado, lovely potatoes, everything is very flavorful. The dining deck is superb, and quiet on weekdays. You're also close to an incredible nature trail that leads to possibly one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. I came here to say this place is open and all of Malibu needs your support after the recent fires. My only note of complaint is that for music, they seem to play a digital radio station with a lot of commercials. For a premium dining experience, I didn't like having to listen to adverts for Geico car insurance while I eat.
David R.
Yelp
This place is absolutely fire. I went with the basic Turkey sandwich. Had a coffee with it. The coffee is 5 star. The Turkey sandwich was incredible. Very awesome Deli vibes! After a nice drive in the sports cars it's the best place to get a pastry or sandwich and coffee. Recommend to all the car guys!
Stacy R.
Yelp
First time here since it opened. Spacious, clean, plain, bright & modern, nothing special. Staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable. Menu simple.
Ordered two Breakfast Burrito's. The burritos were large & contained all the ingredients more or less, but absolutely zero flavor. A small container of spicy salsa was included but it did not complement the burrito or hide the fact the burrito strangely had no taste. My companion said the same thing.
I Wish Scott the very best of luck, but i'm sadly not thrilled & will not return.
Jeff B.
Yelp
We drove up from Santa Monica for a quick bite thinking this was Malibu Country Market rebranded. It was not.
Got the chicken parm and the caprese sandwiches. Interior is open with a cafe station on one side.
The chip and snack displays were oddly positioned and some had random "funny" pricing. (One bag of "hot" chips was priced at $6.66) We sat on the porch.
Sandwiches came out, delivered with a 2oz to-go cup of Cole slaw. Parm was average, the cheese wasn't quite melted but the roll was nice on both orders and the caprese seemed fresher. Slaw was one bite and done, watery mayo. Wanted to try the cafe's baked goods, but after $55 (tip+) for two sandwiches a Coke and chips we were too disappointed.

Yelp
Hey just wanted to give a shout out to Scotts in Malibu for great customer service! I had ordered a breakfast sandwich modified with sausage instead of bacon and they brought it out to me and forgot about modifying it. So i was nice and explained i didnt have much time had to get to work and i will just eat the sandwich and go about my day.
But two if the workers were so nice and came and apologized and gave me a cookie and cooked me the right sandwich afterwards along with the previous sandwich! I was very stoked by this gesture and it made my day. Want to say thank you for just being nice and looking out and trying to do the right thing. !
I will be back soon and will recommend this place to all! Food is great and service is even better! Thank you guys and girls!

Yelp
Excellent new addition to our little town.
Had a perfect toasted bagel with egg salad this morning and all is well in the world. (On the way out I grabbed a mini lemon meringue pie and also excellent.)Staff could not be more accommodating and I suspect a visit to Scott's will be part of my regular routine.
Jeff R.
Yelp
I went to Scott's market the first week it opened. Not only was Scott the nicest person in the world, his staff, his bakery and ambiance were the best. We talked awhile andI just want Malibu to know,
It was a welcoming pleasure to meet and welcome him into town. Good luck Scott your market is a winner.

Yelp
We want to give a shout out to one of Malibu's latest additions, Scott's Malibu Market. What a great addition and so fresh. We had sandwiches and a few breakfast bakery goods. Cooked fresh everyday and greeted with a friendly hello.
Welcome to the community. It costs a fortune to be a tenant in Malibu and it takes forever to get your doors open so we will be frequent visitors.

Everything was delicious! Scott and his staff are welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The avocado toast was delicious! I am going back for another. This is a much needed addition to the Malibu area!!
