Little Skillet serves up Southern comfort with its beloved chicken and waffles, catfish po'boys, and lively vibes, perfect for a casual brunch or game day.
"Walking Time To The Chase Center: 18 minutes The big reason we keep coming back to Little Skillet is their perfectly golden-brown chicken and waffles. But the spacious restaurant that's just three blocks from Oracle Park has a ton of other soul food dishes to get to know, too, like a po’boy spilling over with juicy pulled pork, shrimp and grits, and a fried chicken combo called The Works, which comes with a mini jalapeño corn muffin and a side of your choice. There's also a huge bar and TVs to watch the pregame show before you head out." - lani conway, julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez
"If you cleared all the boxes out of an old warehouse and replaced them with big, long tables, a massive bar, and a kitchen that makes Southern food, you’d have Little Skillet in SoMa. This place is huge, and getting a big spot for all your coworkers is never a problem. They make some of the best fried chicken in the city, and also have counter service so you can avoid having to split the check or Venmo someone later." - will kamensky
"Head to Little Skillet for a hearty, if not exactly healthy, dose of Southern comfort food. Originally just an alleyway take-out window, Little Skillet now slings neo-soul food within the neighboring bar, Victory Hall & Parlor. Along with it’s famed fried chicken and Belgian waffles, the menu also includes catfish po’boys, seafood gumbo, biscuits and gravy, and, of course, sides of collard greens, skillet mac and cheese, and cheddar grits." - Airbnb

"The soul food staples from Little Skillet are a solid option if you want something to fill you up for the next dozen or so hours of a transatlantic flight. They do everything from housemade cornbread and Cobb salads to Southern fried chicken with fries and coleslaw. It’s not the best fried chicken you’ll ever have, but it beats a sad plastic-wrapped sandwich any day." - Julia Chen
