"Before Pitt Cue existed, London really never had much of a claim to being a town with good barbecue. What started out as a stall beneath the Hungerford Bridge has now become a vast meat palace close to the Bank of England and City. Playing to both a City crowd and meat enthusiasts, Pitt Cue has a smart industrial feel about it, and provides an ideal setting for focusing on eating your body weight in pork. The restaurant specialises in obscure breeds of pigs that they raise, slaughter, smoke and cure themselves to create very tasty plates of ‘cue. A civilised lads’ night here is a given, but it’s also surprisingly comfy and quiet enough to take your parents." - David Paw

"Having started off as a roving barbecue van, Pitt Cue Co. now has its very own brick-and-mortar location in a cool corner space in Soho. Their American-style BBQ is excellent but we especially love the sides (green chili stew and grilled baby gem lettuces) and the rowdy whiskey bar. It's great for a lively dinner out, but be prepared to line up—it's tiny in here, like, 30-seats-only tiny. Photo: Paul Winch-Furness"

The food here is consistently incredible. Bone marrow mash (say yes to the occasionally offered shaved truffle add-on), perfect ribs, pulled pork, pig cheek, and an array of creative specials for the more adventurous diner. Decent whisky based cocktails and craft beers too. I'd visit more often but the queue is a nightmare.

Went there a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in London. The ribs were out of this world. I also tried the pulled pork that was accompanied by seriously tasty mash. Also had the lamb dish which was cooked to perfection. Apart from the wait to get a seat, I'd go as far as to say it was the best meal I've ever had, and I had eaten at Dinner a few nights prior to Pitt Cue & Co!

Never been before, so these are definitely only first impressions. 1. The staff were a little standoffish. My very first experience of Pitt Cue Co was was to step from the entrance to allow a waitress to go through a door: she didn't say thank you or even acknowledge the gesture. Once inside, there was no warmth from the two people who served us 2. We ordered the pulled pork bun to take away because we were short of time. Ordering was quick and food arrived within about 10 minutes. 3. Used the restroom while waiting - disgusting. There was a stench of urine that suggested the bathroom was overdue a good clean, and the general cleanliness of the little bathroom was suspect. 4. The pulled pork buns were a little disappointing - but perhaps I had been sucked in by all the hype? The bun was light and soft, working well to soak up the juices without disintegrating. The pork was moist - and there was a pretty good amount of it - but I didn't get any smokiness. In addition, good BBQ shouldn't be slathered in sauce, but this one most certainly was and in my mind it overpowered the flavor of the meat. The slaw was delicious, as were the pickled gherkins. Overall, a good bun with a pleasing flavor combination, but no real sense of smoke and perhaps a little too reliant on the sauce to deliver flavor. I'll certainly return to the Pitt Cue Co in order to sample more of the menu. Will post additional reviews here when I do

The food here is great. They have a really nice take away pulled pork sandwich which I recommend. I also had the beef brisket with side order of burnt end mash. Have to say that the mash potatoes were awesome. Highly recommended. Overall, the food was excellent, but I was a little disappointed in the portion size considering the price. I expected a little more meat. However, if you are looking for a BBQ joint, look no further. Nice service as well!

I've been to Pitt Cue a few times now and every experience has been superb. They make some of the best food I've ever tasted - simple dishes done extremely well. Great sausage, ribs, pulled pork, and other tasty meats are on offer, alongside creamy bone marrow mash and tasty veggie chilli sides. Pitt Cue's drinks are always good too, with a wide selection of excellent American bourbon and rye whiskey and well-balanced cocktails. Their staff are friendly and are willing to let you know a bit about the interesting provenance of their dishes and the environment their pigs are raised in. It's not the cheapest place to eat, but it's not bad for Soho; the portions are generous and I've always left feeling that the money was very well spent.

Worth visiting, if a bit hit and miss - first two times I ate there, food was fantastic. Third, some of the food (American-style BBQ fare) was on the cold side and our sides were bland. Service is efficient, although it's hard not to be for a place with so few tables. The absolute worst thing about this place is the no-reservations policy, which means there's been a long wait at the bar each time I've been (up to 45 minutes) - irritating when you just want to get stuck into some proper food, not nibble some scratchings by the door. Based on most recent experience I don't think I'd have patience to wait in line again.

Another meaty place in central London with a big queue... but don't let the hype put you off, Pitt Cue Co is brilliant. Get there early - we queued for about five minutes before being ushered into the upstairs bar. Here your wait is around an hour, but the drinks are good, cheap and interesting (try the Pickle Juice) so time passes pretty quickly. Yes, it's busy and yes, it's crowded but it all adds to the fun. Once you're ushered downstairs it's a shared-table situation, which can make things tricky when you're tucking into wings with elbows akimbo and napkins everywhere, but everyone's in the same situation! The menu is short and sweet with a focus on meat + side options, although there are also specials on offer. We opted for one main and three sides, which was more than enough for two people. That, a dessert and three drinks each was all £50 and it was awesome - get off work early and go and queue, it's worth it.

Massive cult following for this place, and I can see why. This isn't a very big restaurant at all but it's definitely a special one. I loved the informal nature of everything, and how easy going all the staff are. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu as well as a round of cocktails. SO so good. Make sure you also get a round of the pickleback (tequila shots and pickle juice)!
