A Culinary Masterpiece! From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and an ambiance that perfectly balances elegance and energy. The signature Singapore Slaw is a must-try—an explosion of flavors and textures that is both refreshing and addictive. Every dish is a beautifully crafted fusion of Asian and French influences, showcasing Chef Susur Lee’s genius. The top-notch service by Grey made the experience even more memorable, with knowledgeable staff eager to guide you through the menu and recommend the perfect pairings. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in an unforgettable meal, Lee never disappoints. An absolute five-star experience!

Lee: A Creative Take on Southeast Asian Street Food Stepping into Lee, you’re greeted by a spacious, multi-level dining space with a sleek, modern design. Each table is adorned with a small potted plant and an adjustable table lamp, adding a cozy yet stylish touch. A friend of mine, arriving late, jokingly asked if the plant was edible—a lighthearted moment that reflected the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere. The service was outstanding: warm, engaging, and full of personality, making it one of the best service experiences I’ve had. It reminded me of The Chase—where enthusiasm replaces routine, and you can truly feel the restaurant’s dedication. On the plus side, portion sizes are exceptionally generous—something the staff even joked about, claiming they serve larger portions than other Winterlicious restaurants. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I’d highly recommend giving it a try.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, music wasn’t too loud to have conversations. Service was good too, i did find it difficult hearing the servers describe each meal, maybe because they rushed through it a bit. Food was tasty and unique. We had the Singapore slaw, octopus & braised beef. The slaw was my fave- crunchy, nutty & sweet. Braised beef was a little on the salty side, but a tasty warm meal. The octopus was a unique take on the classic octopus dish, it was spicy and citrusy. Overall lovely experience!

The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was fantastic, but unfortunately, we had a negative experience with our server that overshadowed the evening. We visited to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and had a reservation from 6 PM to 8 PM. Everything started off well, and the food was absolutely delicious. At 7:10, we asked to see the dessert menu, but our server told us we didn’t have time for dessert. This confused us, so we asked her to double-check, and she confirmed that we actually did have the table until 8 PM. Despite this, she seemed uninterested and rushed, giving us the impression that she wanted us to leave. When we placed an order for a second dessert, she asked, “Are you sure you want to stay here? It’s going to take an extra 20 minutes.” This was unacceptable, as we still had 50 minutes left on our reservation. It felt like she was doing everything she could to make us uncomfortable and push us out early. What made the experience worse was that when another waiter came to refill our water, we asked if there was a birthday dessert. They immediately and enthusiastically offered to bring one. It was disappointing because our original server knew we were celebrating a birthday but didn’t acknowledge it or make any effort to enhance the occasion. The rest of the staff seemed lovely and attentive, but our server’s attitude made us feel unwelcome. It’s unfortunate because the food and ambiance were truly amazing, but the lack of care from our server left a sour note on what should have been a special night.

Our server Gray was extremely helpful inattentive to our needs as a big party of nine. She took ample time explaining the menu and accommodated to all of our restrictions and preferences with a chef's tasting menu. Each course was fantastic. The tasting menu gave us the opportunity to try a number of items on the menu which was great. There were number substitutions that we made due to preferences and these were accommodated with options that were fantastic. Kudos to the entire team for an amazing night out!

Google
Lee Restaurant consistently exceeds my expectations. Every dish on the menu is a culinary delight, and I can confidently choose any item with my eyes closed, knowing it will be exceptional. The cocktails and mocktails are a journey of their own, infused with subtle Asian flavors that are truly out-of-this-world. Highly recommended! The ambience is phenomenal. Unlike other restaurants where the music is blaring like a nightclub, Lee Restaurant offers a serene environment where you can actually have a conversation with your dining companions. The service is impeccable, and our server, Gray, deserves an award for elevating the entire dining experience.

10/10 across the board! Such a great representation of Southeast Asian cuisine, elevated yet true to tradition. The staff is definitely attentive, and big shout out to Andrea for making our visit special.

Google
The new Lee restaurant is just wow! The new location is completely different to the previous Lee - it’s much more modern, has higher ceilings, warm, beautiful lighting and is just a beautiful restaurant with its decor. Perfect for a girls night out or date night with its new ambience. As always, the food is incredibly delicious and the service is so attentive and professional. Well worth the treat to come here! Fave dishes include the famous slaw, braised beef, beef gyoza and dessert platter!

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant twice now, and both times were amazing. The food is great, highly recommend the beef curry and roasted chicken, and their deserts are all great. Service is fantastic and explains everything about each dish, and they bring you fresh plates and cutlery with every round of dishes. The atmosphere and ambiance is great aside from being a bit too dim. I think this is intentional and seems to fit for people going on dates. Overall epic place, but a tad expensive (100$ per person is the least you can get away with)

Yelp
Lee: A Creative Take on Southeast Asian Street Food Stepping into Lee, you're greeted by a spacious, multi-level dining space with a sleek, modern design. Each table is adorned with a small potted plant and an adjustable table lamp, adding a cozy yet stylish touch. A friend of mine, arriving late, jokingly asked if the plant was edible--a lighthearted moment that reflected the restaurant's inviting atmosphere. The service was outstanding: warm, engaging, and full of personality, making it one of the best service experiences I've had. It reminded me of The Chase--where enthusiasm replaces routine, and you can truly feel the restaurant's dedication. Food Review Dim Sum Chicken Siu Mai Served on a pineapple-infused fruit sauce and wrapped in a layer of crispy rice paper, this siu mai was more about texture than flavor. While creative in presentation, it didn't leave much of a lasting impression. Homemade Broccoli Tofu Tempura With a light, crisp coating, this tempura felt more like deep-fried stinky tofu in technique rather than traditional tempura. Topped with seasoned cabbage and served with a spicy sauce, most of the flavor came from the sauce itself. Octopus Carpaccio The thinly sliced octopus and sauce didn't quite complement each other on their own, but once paired with the crispy shrimp cracker, something magical happened. The contrast between the octopus' tenderness and the cracker's crunch, along with the interplay of sweet-sour sauce and umami-rich shrimp, created an unexpectedly harmonious bite. Pad Thai This version of Pad Thai came wrapped in a delicate egg omelet, making it look deceptively small. But once the egg casing was cut open, the noodles and ingredients spilled out in abundance--like uncorking a flood of flavors. Reminiscent of their signature salad, the dish was generously portioned and packed with the essential elements of a classic Pad Thai. The sweetness was within an acceptable range, and overall, it felt like an upgraded, "all-in" version of a traditional street-style Pad Thai. Penang-Style Shrimp Ravioli The shrimp filling had a texture similar to shrimp paste, encased in delicate wrappers and served with a tangy-sweet Penang-style sauce. A well-balanced dish for those who enjoy the interplay of acidity and umami. Slow-Braised Malaysian Curry Beef A rich and aromatic curry infused with coconut milk, this dish featured tender, slow-braised beef that absorbed the deep spice flavors beautifully. Indian paneer and yogurt helped temper the heat, while the sweet mashed potatoes provided a lovely contrast. The only weak link was the eggplant, which didn't absorb much flavor and felt unnecessary. The dish delivered a bold, Thai-style spiciness with plenty of layered spices. Desserts Chocolate & Banana Fritter Crispy batter enveloped a luscious chocolate-banana filling, with the banana flavor standing out the most. The soft, slightly stretchy texture of the filling was satisfying, and the dish was complemented by coconut ice cream. Warm Chocolate Cake with Wild Blueberries The tiny wild blueberries balanced out the banana caramel sauce beautifully, while the vanilla ice cream added a classic finishing touch. Warm Normandy-Style Apple Tart The apple tart had a surprising tartness, reminiscent of hawthorn berries. Among the three desserts, this was the sweetest, but the accompanying lemon ice cream provided a refreshing contrast, making for an intriguing flavor combination. Overall Impression Lee stands out for its creative reinventions of familiar Southeast Asian dishes, elevating street food classics with innovative twists. However, the menu leans heavily toward Thai-inspired sweet and sour flavors, which, while individually enjoyable, can feel repetitive when sampled back-to-back. Instead of offering distinct, standalone flavor experiences, each dish builds upon the previous one, creating a sense of flavor overlap. On the plus side, portion sizes are exceptionally generous--something the staff even joked about, claiming they serve larger portions than other Winterlicious restaurants. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
After years of wanting to visit Lee, I finally did. Our experience was interesting. The food was delicious but on the expensive side. Portions were tiny but I guess that's to be expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Towards the end of our plate of Singaporean slaw my friend noticed a hair in her plate. We showed it to our server who said "are we sure this came in the food and it wasn't one of ours" as if to imply we would have purposely put a hair in our food. This was extremely disappointing. I would expect the servers to be a lot more professional at a restaurant. Our server dampened the mood a little by saying something so distasteful when we were just trying to have a fun night and enjoy our dinner. The slaw was amazing despite the hair in it and the pad Thai was pretty much what you would get at any other Thai restaurant. The drinks were delicious and so was all the food but aside from the slaw and spring rolls, I wouldn't say anything stood out to be exceptional. Aside from the hick up we had with our service the food and service were wonderful and definitely a place worth trying.

Yelp
I'd rate 4.5 if I could. I had been waiting to try this resto for a long time and finally made a visit for my husband's birthday dinner. The resto is located in the heart of Toronto and is very spacious. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance. A host and servers were all pleasant and well trained. We ordered their signature dish called Singapore slaw with tuna, black cod and French and Chinese Tong Yuen for dessert. All the dishes were delicious and nicely presented. Price for each dish is high but portion is big.

Yelp
What a beautiful experience! I haven't been to this new location since it opened. I was floored at how big it is and how beautiful it is. We have reservations and so we were seated quite quickly. Our server explained to us the holiday special drink, and we were both intrigued so we got it. Of course we had the slaw. I have to say it's not as great as I remember it, but it was decent. The food we had was all vegetarian, and it was insanely flavourful.

Yelp
Party of 2 for a Birthday dinner on Sat @ 5:30pm Nov 2024. The restaurant is located on a very quiet section of Richmond St. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant and were offered coat service which we declined. The overall service was fantastic, as expected. Our table was near the back of the restaurant and had low banquette seating on the inside and side and chair on the outside. This was really nice as we were able to place all our bags (a little pre-dinner shopping) and coats on the side out of the way. Next a server came by and took our drink order. Afterwards our main server came by and introduced the menu and advised there was a tasting menu, which we immediately ordered. There were 7 courses in total: Potato & Leek Soup, Baked Sunseeker Oyster, Signature Singapore Style Slaw, Lobster & Shrimp Al Nero Dumpling, Palate Cleanser, Seared Alberta Steak with Asian Spiced Braised Beef Agnolotti, Desert Trio (Double Chocolate Meringue & Mouse Rum Cake, Seakbuckthorn Gelle with Dragon Fruit, Warm Apple & Rhubarb Tart). Each dish was superb and such an experience in flavours. Our favourites were the first 4 dishes. The Singapore Style Slaw was amazing, the combination of so many different fresh ingredients and textures; the best salad I've every had. We will definitely come back in the future to try some of their other signature plates.

Yelp
Visited Lee for the first time after their relocation. Food, as usual was amazing - we got Lee's signature salad, black cod and some special menu (mapa tofu gnocchi). My sister and I wanted somewhat private spot and they gave us a lover's seats at the corner which could be romantic if two lovers come haha. Service was exceptional and it was very lively yet classic ambiance. Only comparison I would make between old Lee and current Lee is that the food is becoming less quantity and way too expensive for what we get. If it's getting more creative or more delicious, I wouldn't mind the cost but just adding one more ingredient each year that we can't really notice in the salad doesn't really do much for me. It almost feels forced for the sake of the concept. Hope I get to see some new good stuff next time I visit.

Yelp
This restaurant is without a doubt one of the best Asian restaurants I've ever been to in my life. It's crazy to say this because I've been to many places, but the food here is just amazing. Everything just hit the mark. I can tell that there were years of experience in each and every dish. Very nice, classy place. Perfect for a business meal or date night. Chloe was our server and she was a delight. She informed us of the mojito cart and those were perfect. I never knew pineapple and raspberry paired so well together. My favorite dishes were the ceviche, slaw, and the cod. It wasn't a smart idea to go here on the first night of our trip. Most of the food afterwards couldn't even compare.

Yelp
It took me a bit to realize that they have moved. I used to pass by their old location on king st and it was always bustling and hectic. This new location is quieter and somehow I find it more fitting to the restaurant's image. We came for small family reunion for an early dinner around 17:30. At that time the restaurant was not too full but there are some tables occupied already. The noise level is low surprisingly given how all the downtown restaurants are generally loud. The service was great, waitress was attentive and informative. We ordered 5 dishes, all to be shared: Signature singaporean slaw - we came knowing we have to get this since it is their most famous item. A couple of people in the family does not like cilantro and we forgot to confirm if it is part of the ingredients, which it is. However, the cilantro wasn't strong at all due to the way they chop them and that was a good experience. The plum sauce makes this a sweeter salad, and I couldn't really taste the calamansi. Best part is the variety of textures, love the combination of the 24 ingredients. BBQ chicken bao - nothing to rave about, tho the bao itself was very soft and fluffy. Signature cheeseburger spring roll - another item that we knew we had to get given its reputation, and it lived it up to it. Delicious and unique experience. Tho I would opt out of the bacon, since it's caramelized and took away the savory joy of the cheeseburger. Signature "luckee" shrimp cheung fun - also nothing to rave about. The shrimp at the top has a little bit of spice and I enjoyed. I understand the need for a thicker cheung fun skin for structure, but I didn't enjoy the mouthfeel to it. I'd rather have the original dim sum cheung fun. Asian slow braised beef - Beef melted in your mouth but the maitake mushroom won the plate. The general flavor profile of the dishes is sweet, either from the sauce, e.g. plum sauce of the slaw, or some component of each dish, e.g. bacon in the cheeseburger spring roll. I'd say the slow braised beef was the most savory of them all. Overall it's just okay. For the price point, I don't think it's a repeatable restaurant, just not worth it. But if you have never tried, then sure you can drop by.

Yelp
We came here for an anniversary dinner, and it was a fabulous experience! We had heard about the famous slaw, but I didn't know what else to expect. The server recommended 2-3 dishes for us. We ordered the coleslaw, tuna tartare, and pork rib. The coleslaw lived up to its hype - it boasts 24 unique ingredients, and it was refreshing, crunchy, and flavourful. It is listed as a starter on the menu, but the portion was quite large for two people. I also really enjoyed the tartare - the sequencing of the meal worked out as this was a much richer plate. Service was great throughout the meal, and Lee's quality really reflects the dedication and passion of Chef Susur.

Yelp
Possibly the best service in Toronto. This restaurant is a Southeast Asian Chinese and French fusion restaurant which basically means if you like really interesting combos and new flavors then this is perfect. I was serving make sure we knew what the classic items were and they were all delicious. The Singaporean slaw is a must order it comes in a tower made of 24 different ingredients and they mix it tableside. It also had a lot of crunchy elements so everybody was delicious, even though my date and I shared one massive played we didn't feel overly stuffed which meant the salad was very light and flavorful. The other means that we ordered were very unique and I would definitely try them again. We ordered the seasonal dessert which was a very tarte strawberry tart, I don't know if I would have that again but I was one that it would be on the sour side and in that respect, very accurate. Good ambience, very catering to mother's and babies. Even the ones that scream a little and throw things a little.

Yelp
Ok, so I've been to Lee a few times before they moved and it was always a good experience, but WOW we came in for dinner this past Sunday and it was incredible. From the moment we sat down, each staff that interacted with us was so courteous, informative, well spoken. The food is as amazing as it's always been- we went with the staples and they didn't disappoint!, The drinks are always a hit (get the lychee martini)! I really can't speak to how amazing the service is- super attentive, I asked for the leftover bites of skewers to bring home for my dog and they welcomed it without issues and even asked whether or not my dog had any allergies!! Just that alone speaks to the level of service they provide! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back! The new space is also super airy and beautiful!! Definitely an upgrade from the last!

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of Susur Lee, so of course I had to try out the one and only Lee's for my birthday! When you walk in, this place is packed to the brim, but not in a way that feels crowded, just busy. I would definitely make reservations if you plan on eating here! Upon entering, the hostess even offered to take our jackets. This place is classy and has style. For the drink, we opted for one of the non-alcoholic options, the Element. It was delicious but a bit on the tart side. For the starter, of course we had to try the famous 24-ingredient Singapore Style Slaw. This dish looks like a piece of artwork, piled high with all sorts of who knows what. Now, I never eat coleslaw, but this is not that. The mouth feel of this slaw is heaven, with crunch, sweet, tangy, savoury, salty, umami - all of the above. We also ordered the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls with Double Smoked Bacon. I could eat this over actual cheeseburgers - it was absolutely delicious. For the large plate we ordered the Asian Slow Braised Beef, which practically melted in our mouths! The potato and leek puree was heavenly smooth. If you are a fan of braised beef dishes, this is the king of them all. For dessert, we got the All-Time Favourites, which included the tong yuen, panipuri with strawberry creme brulee, the chocolate peanut butter bar, and the apple and apricot strudel. My favourites was definitely the panipuri, with the crunchy texture pairing perfectly with the strawberry creme brulee. It was also so refreshing after a heavy-ish meal. The chocolate peanut butter bar was essentially a chocolate bar, so I'd probably pass on that. Lee's is by far the best place I have been to for Asian Fusion Cuisine. I am salivating at the thought of trying the other dishes. It is well worth the higher price point, and I will definitely be coming back to Lee's very soon!

Yelp
Stunning French/Asian fusion restaurant in downtown Toronto! Everything here from the service to the ambiance to the lighting & plating are so elegant and classy. They were really nice about accommodating a table of 10 (set menu required at this size) with different dietary preferences. They have a vegan set menu too! Our server was so friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the element mocktail to start, which had orange and passionfruit. It was super sweet and refreshing. All the mocktails/cocktails are so pretty! The set menu was so much food and left all of us feeling stuffed. Definitely worth the price. Some highlights were the 24 ingredient slaw (very complex, amazing dressing, loved the crunchy bits), the slow braised beef (so tender and flavorful!! the leek mashed potatoes + mushrooms to accompany were also phenomenal), the shrimp cheung fun (surprisingly crispy), and their famous chocolate peanut butter bar dessert with peanut butter popcorn (perfect for any pb chocolate lovers). In general everything was very creative and felt like a unique take on a classic dish. Each dish had unexpected ingredients and left us feeling surprised in a good way. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Yelp
Top Asian fusion restaurants! Singapore slaw is a must-try! We tried almost everything on the menu...The portion for the appetizers is huge but relatively small for the main dish. First-bite: always amazing you will find a new world...new combinations of Asian taste and other common ingredients like bacon and cheeseburgers Service is amazing and vibe is prefect for dating and business dinner

Yelp
The inside is dimly lit, perfect for a date night or small intimate group. We came here as a group of 3 on a weeknight, reservations made a week in advance for a birthday celebration. The best dish we ordered was the Singapore style slaw, which was their most well known dish. Other highlights included the braised beef and curry chicken which were also delicious. Our waitress was very attentive, even getting the kitchen to write "Happy Birthday" on the dessert. Lee was a great choice for our birthday celebration.

Yelp
Is Lee worth the hype? This is what my friends and I have been wondering since Chef Lee first opened his flagship restaurant downtown. We finally made it to this new location and the verdict is: the Singapore Slaw is 100% worth the hype - the other dishes are delicious but comparable to other restaurants. What differentiates Lee from any other Asian fusion joint aside from its namesake is the experience. Every dish presented was included with a detailed description from the server and the slaw was mixed beautifully. Our waiter cleaned the table after each dish and cheerfully answered our questions about Chef Lee and his family. (Shoutout Quinn) The drinks: Birds of Nirvana - Sweet, fruity, cute decoration Shanghai - Light, citrusy Island gem - Strong The food: Singapore slaw - Delicious and worth the hype as mentioned; I found a hair in mine so they took it off the bill and even offered a new one. This is the only reason I docked a star. We liked that they described every ingredient in the slaw! No secrets at Lee. Lobster orzo pad thai - A special they had for the night: lobster portion was generous, tamarind sauce was given on the side. Textbook pad thai in my opinion. Luckee shrimp cheung fun - Liked the heat and the shrimp size :) Cheeseburger spring rolls - Was hard to wrap my head around the concept at first. The texture of the spring roll complimented the beef really well, having it on a bed of lettuce and tomato was really clever. Compliments to the chef. Golden sand crispy tofu - Delicious as well, a friend didn't like that the chili glaze had that apricot/apple flavour from the osmanthus. I personally liked it a lot! We'll be back for the slaw, and to meet Chef Lee one day with the brothers.

Yelp
Lee was fantastic. Good food, drinks and service. Have heard a lot about this restaurant and it's chef Susur Lee, and finally got a chance to go. My group ordered Tuna Tartare Tacos, Crispy Beef Dumplings, Spicy Frijoles Refritios Tempeh & Tofu Tacos, and Buddha Lettuce Cups. To drink we got a couple shots of Tromba Anejo along with Spicy Mezcal Margarita and Lee's Lemonade. Recommend others give it a visit.

Yelp
The long and short is was it worth the price for a prix fixed menu? I want to say no. The dining experience was nice being in this beautiful atmosphere but the food overall didn't meet my expectations. The service was good with them wiping down our table three times to pick up food debris that was on it. However our server seemingly was trying so hard to please us. This is a high end restaurant but the server didn't come across as exhibiting a calm demeanor yet I know he meant well. He seemed to be amped up and animated. I'd like people to be professional and natural in waiting on customers. A lower tone of voice would be appreciated. One thing that dismays me is when the food looks better than it tastes. I felt that was true here. Creativity is aesthetically pleasing visually but along with that brings higher expectations. The food was not bad but wasn't exceptional. It was a quiet place to hold a conversation with dinner partner. The entrees I had are on the menu are attached.

Annie A.

Yelp
High hopes that were destroyed by the poor service coordination and incredibly small servings of food where the flavors didn't go together. I see now why they didn't last in NY. One server would come by and put down the place settings and another would come by and take it away. One would place one set of cutlery down and another would come by and take it away. Only to be served food that got cold bc we had no cutlery to eat with. The food and flavors didn't pair well and the wine pairings disappointed. The ambiance is on point! Decor is pleasant and welcoming for an intimate dinner or for larger groups.

Yelp
Came to Lee to celebrate a birthday and the long and short of it is that the food is creative, the dishes are reimagined and the interiors are inviting. Service however was not the finest. The service was slow that night and I found myself trying to get our server's attention on several occasions. It was also a little annoying that our small plates and large plates came out at the same time. This rushed us and did take the fun out of the birthday dinner. We ordered a drink each, and for food, we got the: - Chicken Satay (4.5/5): this was my favorite of the two savories. The chicken skewers were really well cooked, and the peanut sauce and mignonette was generous and completed the dish in the best way. To jazz up the dish, it came with grilled pineapples and a shrimp cracker. These were basic. The chutney however, didn't really add any oomph. It was an element to be indifferent towards. Had it been on the spicier side maybe it would have served a better purpose since the sweet and tart component was already being satisfied by the grilled pineapple quarters. Shrimp Cheung Fun (3.5/5): the way this was served was definitely reimagined. Interesting approach so I'll give it some props there. The shrimp was well cooked. The chilies were mild, the broth was scanty, and the chicken dumpling filling was an interesting surprise but the crispy coating on the dumpling was rather soggy. Together with the Cheung Fun itself, didn't provide the textural contrast it may have been intended to serve. This dish had a lot of potential but in execution fell a little short. To end our meal, we ordered the Chocolate Peanut Bar (5/5). This was perfect! The top layer was a rich chocolate mousse, base was similar to a Butterfinger but more on the wafer side, and the toppings of candied peanuts and caramel popcorn was a great addition. I loved the tart dollops of some berry sauce that adorned the dish but I wish we had a little more of it. Still, absolutely enjoyable! Overall, our meal had a few hits and misses but definitely on the pricier side for the overall value it provided. Maybe with better service especially for a birthday dinner, I could have ended on a happier note.

Yelp
Came here during Summerlicious and tried their Summerlicious menu. There was a choice of appetizer, a main and dessert for $75. We had the salmon gravlax, the spicy adobo chicken satay as appetizers, the Caribbean jerk pork rib and the halibut en croute for the entrees and the sai mai Lo and the strawberry rhubarb almond tart for dessert. The salmon and the chicken satay were very good and flavours were excellent. The pork rib flavour was good but was a bit dry in some places. The halibut was excellent and perfectly done. The sai mai Lo was amazing and so refreshing. The strawberry rhubarb tart was good but wasn't anything special. Definitely the sai mai Lo stuck out. We sat in the patio and had a great view of the courtyard. The service was excellent and very attentive.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Susur Lee and I had been wanting to eat at Lee for a while. I finally visited for a birthday dinner and had a great time. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. My friends and I split three small plates/apps, the cheeseburger spring rolls, Singapore style slaw, and Yucatan goat cheese tart. All three were great, but the slaw was the unanimous favorite. It was so light and fresh with lots of textures and, even with so many ingredients, tasted excellent all together. The cheeseburger spring rolls were the weakest in my opinion, but not to say they weren't good. Just not as flavorful as the other plates. They had a 2.5 oz A5 Miyazaki Wagyu on special so I ordered that because I've always wanted to try Miyazaki Wagyu. It did not disappoint! The price was surprisingly fair ($65 CAD/$50 USD) for such a stellar cut of meat. The smaller portion was still filling, especially since the meat is so rich. Melted in my mouth and was worth every bit the hype. It came with pickled radish (a favorite of mine), parmesan frites, and daikon with mustard. Every bite was so flavorful and I left very satisfied. We also split the All Time Favorites dessert tasting plate (eight pieces) and it was more than enough for us all. My favorite was the tong yuen, it tasted like a fancy (and much better) Asian-inspired Ferrero Rocher. Sometimes restaurants from famous chefs don't live up to the hype, but Lee definitely does. Susur Lee is truly a magician and I'm so glad I was able to finally try his dishes. Our server, Quinn, was also excellent. The perfect amount of attentive and very friendly and knowledgable about the restaurant and menu.

This is my favorite meal from my recent trip to Toronto! I've heard many great reviews of the signature Singapore style slaw and with our server recommending it to us as well, we had to try it out and were blown away by how delicious veggies could possibly taste. From the initial presentation to the explanation of the dish while they tossed it for us, I was amazed by every aspect of it. The luckee shrimp cheung fun had so many flavors and textures to it, making each bite such an experience. It looks small but is quite filling. The Asian slow braised beef was delicious as well but personally not something I'd order again. It had a very strong flavor that became slightly overwhelming after a few bites. We also got some black sesame crème brûlée (and some other dessert on the house which I can't remember what it was), which was the perfect way to end our meal. As an Asian who doesn't enjoy super sweet desserts, that crème brûlée was just enough to satisfy my post-dinner sweet tooth craving. Absolutely loved my entire dining experience here and can't wait to return again!

Yelp
nothing was particularly bad but this felt overpriced. the cheeseburger spring rolls felt gimmicky and definitely would skip next time. service was and ambiance was very good though.

Yelp
Came from NYC to try Sursur Lee's restaurant and boy are we glad we did. Still a meal we talk about going back to Toronto to have again. We had an early dinner reservation on a Saturday. The restaurant space is beautifully designed, dimly lit but not too dark where you can't see. Service was great from beginning to end. Our biggest treat was seeing Sursu Lee himself walking around the restaurant and serving food it looked like. My husband and I had 8 dishes to share together. We are pretty big eaters so average sized eaters will probably be full off not as many dishes honestly. We ordered the Singaporean slaw, cheeseburger spring rolls, tuna tartare, spicy shrimp cheong fun, burrata, scallops (can't remember the name but they used lobster bisque as the sauce), chicken satay, and ended with the French and Chinese tong yuen for dessert. With every dish that came out the servers would describe the ingredients and how it's supposed to be eaten if there was a specific instruction. While every dish was delicious and amazing in its own way, we were truly blown away by the slaw and cheeseburger spring rolls. Hard to believe a salad is my favorite dish but the textures and flavors mixed together were truly amazing. I don't have anything negative to say about the food at all. Definitely a place worth trying, and a restaurant we would be traveling back to Toronto for. Most of our food came out within a decent amount of time of each other besides our scallops which they did apologize for. We had such a great experience here from beginning to end. We flew into Toronto with the intention of having dinner here, which and could not be happier that we did.

Yelp
From watching Mr. Lee cooking on YouTube to then eating at his restaurant, what an experience it's been. All the dishes were so creative and well executed. Of course the Singaporean Slaw is a must try; however, the Shrimp Cheung Fun (spelled the Hong Kong way) was the star of the show. The taste was so authentic but with a modern twist. The shrimp and chilis on top plus the sweet soy sauce on the bottom brought the Cheung Fun to a whole new level. Lastly the service was impeccable, wonderful experience over all!

Yelp
We made a reservation here for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. It definitely creates an intimate atmosphere with attention to detail, from the lighting fixtures to plating to staff. Many pleasant surprises for each dish that arrived, our party was impressed with the creative take on Asian fusion. Highly recommend this experience since the type of cuisine is not classic Asian fusion, it's so unique and great for special occasions. Chef Lee really works the dishes into a special niche. All dishes were fantastic and our server, Grey, was amazing! Top favourites: Singapore slaw (delicious, even for those at our table who dislike vegetables!), caramelized cod, and steamed dumplings (the chilli oil to dip it in is AMAZING). One note: we did have to move seats since the table we started at was rocky and the manager advised that the table stand would take time to be fixed safely. The tables are a little small for larger parties, so maximum I would recommend for comfortable seating and not overflowing plates for the space is a table of 6. There is a private room available for private events as well. Last note is for those looking to bring cake, their cake fee is $50 flat.

Yelp
During a short weekend trip to Toronto, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Lee. We sat at the patio which thankfully did not rain that night. The ambiance inside the restaurant was gorgeous and definitely hope to dine inside next time for a visit. The service was amazing and each waiter/waitress who was at our table recommended amazing dishes and some that truly were spectacular and nothing we had before. Now for the food. We started off with three apps: signature slaw (with salmon on the side), steamed chicken dumplings (recommendation from our waitress) and this night's special of beef carpaccio with tempura shrimp (they had three options that were only going to be served that night - all options looked delicious but we settled on the beef carpaccio to balance out the rest of the items we wanted to order). The signature slaw was truly to die for and the flavor components that went into the slaw blended beautifully to create a different taste profile for each bite. The salmon nigiri on the side definitely enhanced it for us as well and left us absolutely speechless. Definitely can come back to Lee for just this one item and be absolutely satisfied. The steam chicken dumplings were great as well but not a true standout. It was a very well executed dumplings with a light soy sauce base. The beef carpaccio was okay. If you were to eat each component of the dish separately it tasted good but together, my husband and I agreed that we weren't sure what it was trying to accomplish. Up next was entrees. We had the mandarin chicken and slow braised beef (recommended by our waitress). This mandarin chicken was similar to the slaw where we were absolutely blown away with the taste. We were savoring each bite and I believe this dish embodied both the Asian and French fushion concept. Again, if we only ordered the slaw and this chicken entree, it would be absolutely enough. The slow braised beef was also very delicious but the chicken was the star. Last but not least is the dessert. To keep it true to heart, we decided to order the shaved halo halo. It was good and a bit tart for what we are used to but nonetheless very tasty. Overall, Lee had amazing stand out dishes and we would be happy to dine here again!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Lee. Not just because Susur Lee is awesome, is the restaurant is just fantastic. An excellent sharable menu that is Chinese inspired but has lots of different flavors and a cool cocktail menu. Great for both date nights and dinner parties. Check it out if you haven't been, especially the new location is beautifully renovated.

Yelp
You've probably seen their ICONIC 24-ingredient slaw a million times but the hype IS real!!! It is quite literally one of the best salads I've ever had. And that's coming from someone that doesn't like salads much. There's so many textures and flavours that come together in the slaw that compliment each other and make the salad interesting. I've been to Lee's twice (hence the two differences in lighting) and have tried many of their dishes: Signature Singaporean slaw - highly recommend this! Signature Luckee shrimp cheung fan. My parents would have a fit if they knew how much this costs LOL. But honestly really good spin to cheung fan, I really liked the filling and presentation was nice. Slow braised beef - super tender and the potato/leek puree was amazing Caramelized black cod - fish was super tender. Portions were really small though! Top chef curry roasted chicken - Not sure if they make this dish or not; it was one of their famous dishes but I like their other mains more. Cheeseburger spring rolls - a fan favourite! I found these good but it's not one of my top dishes Yucatan goat cheese tart French and Chinese tong yuen - think tong yuen but filled with Nutella. Beautiful dish This is a bit of a splurge meal, as they put a refined/upscale spin and contemporary twist to traditional Asian dishes. Plus, the chef (Sursur Lee) was on Top Chef and Iron Chef so it can be expected! The service is excellent - every dish is explained to you in detail and care is taken when serving. We had some Vegetarians in our group and they were super accommodating. My friends said that the Vegetarian dishes felt really thought out - Lee's made completely separate and new dishes specifically for them. It wasn't just substituting meat from current dishes which can sometimes cause the dish to be lacking.

Yelp
My partner and I had a lovely dinner last night. The signature slaw was outstanding. What was also outstanding was the service. Lauren was our server and she was inviting and warm and also a real professional. My partner said, "you can tell she's an experienced server" She anticipated our needs beautifully and really made our experience memorable. The team of bartenders and waitstaff also supported this feeling. Dishes were cleared and cutlery replaced with an efficiency that told us they were always watching without making us feel watched. We genuinely felt taken care of.

Yelp
3.5 If i could give it? The salad is definitely life changing!! it's so good but all the entrees were just okay. The ambience is dark and a little loud. The service was fast.

Yelp
One of the best meals of my life!! Came alone for a work trip and sat at the bar which had great vibes. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The Singapore Style Slaw is a must and they were able to provide a 1-person portion for me. I also got the Wild Caramelized Black Cod that just melted in your mouth.

Yelp
Everything is next level. The service. The food. The 21 ingredient slaw and cheeseburger rolls were to die for

Jude G.

Yelp
A definite gem. We were on our honeymoon and the waiter, Gray encouraged us to try "The Chefs 7 course tasting menu." What a treat! Their service was stellar! It was the culinary meal of a lifetime.

Yelp
I went here for a company Christmas dinner, so the experience might have been slightly enhanced due to the higher budget but regardless, I had a great time and the food was absolutely delicious. We got a private room in the back and it had a really nice set up with a large table seating 20+ people. I had actually gotten surgery the day before, so I was on some medication's and had some trouble walking around but luckily the staff were very attentive to me and took good care of me. Regarding the food, we had a set course dinner, and every course was thoroughly explained. You could tell by how the servers were all talking about the dishes, and the chef, there was a high level of respect and understanding. The slaw salad was one of the dishes that I had heard about and it definitely met expectations. It was beautiful to see all the ingredients and the final product once they were all mixed together. My favourite course, lettuce cheeseburger wrap, was actually the one I forgot to take a picture of because I ate it so fast. Regardless, everything else was really delicious and I would highly recommend it to go for dinner on a date or with friends.

Yelp
Lee Restaurant was easy to spot from the street with its bright red sign. As I entered the restaurant the check in was right by the door. My only bad / unpleasing experience was at the check in. The two girls at the desk were not welcoming whatsoever. I had bar seating reservation and was wearing a long coat but they did not even ask / offer to me that they had a coat check. I had to ask my waitress after the fact if they did since there was no where to hang my coat at the bar. They two at the front were really unpleasant. Luckily the rest of the staff was kind but if that's how you are greeted in an unfriendly way it definitely brings down the experience. The food was amazing. Loved the salad and ceviche! Also the autumn sangria was very lovely. The pad Thai was a different take on the traditional dish. Not my favorite but unique. Our server was also really lovely and checked in on us quite frequently. I just wish the check in desk/front was just as kind.

Yelp
First time trying Lee's so we opted to do the "chef's banquet". It was an interesting experience. The food is bold it it's attempts to push the e boundaries of fusion. While some creations shine with a great balance of flavours, others are overly complicated and do a disservice to the quality of the ingredients. Before dissecting each dish individually, the staff were excellent. Each dish brought out was fully explained in full detail. Water was kept full at all times, and the plates and silverware were changed between almost every dish. While the level of service did not go unappreciated, some intentions were lost along the way. Because each dish is so overly complicated with an extensive number of ingredients, the servers were visibly struggling with trying to explain what the dish was and what was in it. Some were speaking so fast I could only pick up on 2-3 ingredients. Also not the servers' fault but the time between each dish was agonizingly long. It's a good thing we had enough to talk about at the table. Each dish takes 2 minutes to eat but half an hour to arrive. We were dining for 2.5 hours, of which 90% of the time was just waiting. On to the food. The Singapore slaw lives up to its expectations. It's light, it's fragrant, and it's balanced with savoury and acidic. It's a very refreshing salad that I could eat every day for lunch and not be disappointed. They do a little table side show we're they mix the salad and mention something about the higher they toss the salad the more prosperity it brings. A fun little anecdote for diners. The oyster shooter was an interesting choice. It's almost like a caesar but with an oyster at the end. While I enjoyed the taste, there was far too much shot to take at once. The oyster is fresh and the shot is briney, but I didn't find it anything special. The cheeseburger spring roll was a little bit of a let down. It's a ground beef and cheese spring roll with a side piece of bacon, wrapped in a piece of iceberg lettuce. We were recommended to try it and I found it quite disappointing. It's exactly what you would think it tastes like. Hot greasy beef and cheese, over a small piece of lettuce. I will admit I enjoyed it with the vinegary vegetables in between the lettuce and the roll, but the spring roll on its own is just a mess of salt and grease. The beef satay was much better. The beef was very tender and cooked to a perfect medium. The satay sauce was nutty, decadent and flavourful. It was topped with what I believe was a shrimp cracker. The black cod was in my opinion the real star of the show. Delicious flaky cod, in a savoury black bean sauce, paired with a turnip purée. It was so delicious and a real winner in my books. Balanced, not overly salty or savoury, and just full of flavour. The rack of lamb in tamarind sauce was a bittersweet delight. The lamb in the sauce was excellent. The lamb was so succulent and juicy and was just cooked to perfection. The sauce is rich, salty, creamy and really did enhance the natural juiciness of the lamb. However my first bite was tarnished with that abomination underneath. The polenta and paneer cake was just a dull mush of bland filler. Eating it together with the lamb just ruined all the flavour of the lamb. I thought I had eaten the worst piece of lamb every cooked. It was only after trying the lamb separately that my tongue was blessed with salvation. Get rid of the polenta and paneer, it does not go with the dish. The dessert was a mixed bowl of shaved ice and fruit in coconut cream, and a spoonful bite of mochi mixed with nuts. It was an interesting dessert. It's presented with dry ice for a smoke effect. The fruit mix is fragrant with a familiar scent, and there is a nice variety of fruit. It was a nice refreshing way to end the meal, although all the ice was clumped and stuck together. The mochi ball was definitely an interesting choice. It's overly complex with a mixture of different sauces and flavours. It starts by being sweet, then bitter, and then chocolatey and nutty. Unfortunately, not in a good way. There was far too much going on that you can't appreciate what you are eating. It just scrambles itself with so many ingredients that in the end all you taste is burnt peanut. Overall it was an interesting experience. The staff try very hard and are very attentive. Kitchen service is painstakingly slow at churning out dishes. Some bites of food really shine through as excellent creations. While others aspire to be more than they are with over complexities and over-complications. This restaurant is capable of so much more. Don't try so hard to be something that you aren't. Sometimes less is more. There are so many ingredients in each dish, the servers word vomit struggle to explain them. And then I nod politely while only hearing 3 out of 20 ingredients.

Yelp
I love Susur Lee and I love his restaurant. Let me start with the restaurant because you're probably here looking up a place to eat. Well, you won't be disappointed by Lee Restaurant. It is famous for the Singapore Slaw, which happens to be absolutely delicious. A medley of ingredients with a citrusy dressing that is heavenly. This is an Asian fusion restaurant. I've tried a number of things on my two visits here so far, and I don't think there is anything that I have had that I wouldn't recommend. Just some more mind blowing than others. Susur Lee was an Iron Chef amongst many other amazing accomplishments and accolades. That isn't what impresses me about him though. It's his humility and strong connection to his Chinese roots. He's an ambassador for Asian cuisine and he does it with conviction. Thank you for the great food and I look forward to eating here again. And again.

Yelp
Susur Lee is a culinary wizard, and his food is black magic. Without a doubt the best meal that my partner and I have ever had. If I could've ate here every day on my trip to Toronto I absolutely would have. We started with the Oyster Shooters, then the Singapore Slaw, the Luckee Shrimp Cheung Fun, and finished it off with the Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Striploin, which I will admit, was the best food I have ever put into my mouth. Everything was absolutely perfect and our server Will made the entire experience better than we could've ever imagined.

Yelp
Celebrated my anniversary at Lee. Atmosphere was amazing but the food was even better! The server was very nice and explained the menu in detail as well as her favorite dishes. We ordered the duck confit, signature Singapore salad, and the salmon tartare tacos! The Singapore salad is a must try, it had an incredible depth to it. As a bonus we got to personally meet chef Susur Lee which was the highlight of my night.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We were around 15 minutes late to our reservation on a Friday night and it was not an issue. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and perfect for a date night or special event. The dishes are sharing plates that the table orders to share so we ordered the Singapore Style Slaw, Chesseburger Spring Roll, Shrimp Cheung Fun, and the Dragon dumplings. Everything was amazing and I'd really recommend the slaw and cheung fun. Each dish was presented after we finished the previous, and the presentation was immaculate. We also loved our waiter, he was so attentive and friendly and helped us take some photos together. Definitely the best service I've encountered at a restaurant!

Yelp
Dinner at Lee was a great way to celebrate a birthday. The service, as expected, was spectacular - the attention to detail (cleaning up the table between courses) and overall attentiveness (e.g. always quick to refill water). The Singaporean Slaw was a one of a kind flavour bomb with an interesting variety of textures at play. The Top Chef Singaporean Roasted Chicken was unfortunately not as good as expected. It felt like too much was going on. The chicken itself was bland and while the accompaniments are likely meant to be the primary source of flavour, it felt a bit mish mashed. The Wild Alaskan Black Cod was probably the BEST fish dish I've ever had! Every component was delicious and melded together well. Our dessert, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar, was rich and dense, though I wish the bar itself had more textural variety. It felt like chomping into a stick of (albeit delicious) butter.

Yelp
It used to one of my fav restaurants in the city but the food quality went down after the pandemic, the salad is their signature dish and you can eject go wrong with it I wish they kept the charsiu pecking duck as it was such a creative and delicious dish, the food still has some creative ideas but the taste is not on par with their creativity & presentation

Tasha H.

Yelp
Came here for a group dinner with very high expectations, and had many hits with just one miss. Slaw - this is a must order. So tasty, so many textures, and a delicious and beautiful start to the meal. Burrata - never had burrata like this. A cold dish with Chinese flavors over a luxurious ball of gooey cheese. Very delicious and unique. Chicken bao - everyone loved these. Beautiful buns, really succulent chicken, and nice veg inside. Curry chicken - we had such high expectations for this, and it was the biggest letdown of the dinner unfortunately. The chicken skin was a bit flabby, there were unexpected bits of cartilage which I actually usually like but just was not expected in this presentation, and the onion pancakes didn't have good texture - to dry and stiff. "Pad thai" - only very loosely resembles pad thai and uses orzo pasta. Shrimp were cooked well and this was a tasty dish. Desserts really shined here. The tong Yuen was so decadent and interesting. I loved all the textures. It was a touch on the acidic side for me, but I loved it! Matcha panna cotta - this would be my first pick. Just the right amount of matcha, beautiful sauces, and really delicious sticky rice as well.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent, some of the best food I've had in Toronto. Definitely extremely pricey (more than $110 pp minimum) but I would say worth it for special occasions. Very interesting and inventive vegetarian food, everything is so tasty. Don't miss out on the famous slaw. The goat cheese tart was also delicious, the vegetables are so deeply flavorful. The burrata tasted Italian (couldn't detect any Chinese influence) but really delicious, a flavorful pesto. The tofu was really good but probably not super unique, I've had similar tofu at other places. The only dish we didn't love was the vegetarian curry, we felt it was lacking flavor and difficult to eat since the paratha had wet things on it like a flatbread, so you could use it to properly scoop up the curry. But mainly the flavor was just kind of one note, not a ton of deep savory flavor. The decor in the new location wasn't right up my alley but definitely very unique and overall a nice vibe. I'm docking a star because they made us wait over 30min for our table and we had a reservation. There were a ton of people waiting and zero standing room so for 30+ min we were all basically pressed against each other and getting shoved as if we were at a club. It's been 3-4months but almost seemed like it was opening day with how much of a mess they were, all the staff was super panicked and disorganized. Overall, such a wonderful special & tasty meal - I went for my birthday and it was so worth it! However watch out for the wait even with a reso.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to this restaurant for more than 15 years so was really excited when we managed to make a reservation during the week we were in Toronto. The food was creative and the ambience suitably elegant. However our server ruined it completely. She asked us if it was our first time visiting and I said yes but she was so disinterested and inattentive. We heard other waiters giving great introductions but she said nothing. We decided to order a dish at a time to try and were impressed by the supporting servers. Our waitress hardly ever came by. We had to ask one of the other servers to help us when we wanted to order more. She never even checked on us to ask if we wanted more wine. And when we asked her for things she often forgot and we had to ask again. We asked for the dessert menu and she ignored us because we said we didn't want any more savoury. Then finally she came by and asked if we wanted dessert - obviously she didn't hear that we had asked her the first time. Her response was to come back drop the menus in front of us and walk away. No attempt to give any recommendations. For a restaurant of this calibre it was very disappointing

Yelp
This dining experience was quite the treat, the food, the service, and the ambience were wonderful. From the outside, this place is an expecting. You could easily walk by and not know you just walked by one of the best restaurants in Toronto. Chef Lee has become quite the celebrity, thanks to TikTok and Instagram. I was very excited about dining here, and glad I had the pleasure to do so. Decor-We sat outside, so I can't really critique the decor on the inside of this restaurant. The tables outside were clean neatly organized and close together. Service-i've got to say, the service here was spectacular. Our server was upbeat, very pleasant, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food-this is where the fun really starts, the food is eccentric and the flavors are quite the experience. Every dish was a surprise, even though not every dish deserved 5/5 stars, it was still quite the experience. Singapore style slaw-100/5 Stars!!! I'm not entirely sure what the 20 ingredients are of this dish, but they work perfectly together, it's like a well practiced symphony partying in your mouth. This dish has so many levels of textures from crunch, too wet, to dry, and it is just the perfect dish. Oyster shooters-2.5/5 stars. This dish was a miss for us, we didn't care for the flavors too much, and frankly, it was overpriced. Would not order this again. Indochine Rack of Lamb-2.5/5 stars. Our waiter recommended this dish and I'll say it was good, but missed the five star rating. I wish we would've tried something a little more Asian inspired. French and Chinéese Tong Yuen-100/5 Stars. This has to be the most interesting and flavorful dessert I've had this year. As you take your first bite, your hit with a fruity sorbet flavor, and then it turns into a chocolatey nutty treat at the end of the bite. It's a large bite, but your rewarded with every chew and it just works!!! Can't wait to be back.
