A mixed experience. On the plus side, service was very friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. Of the food, we especially enjoyed the dessert, and the mussels with cream cheese were very nice as well. We also had the cucumber, the jelly noodles and the eggplant, which were all overly spicy. The rice noodles were pretty good but not outstanding, the char siu was very porky, and I didn't really like the morning glory but my (Chinese) dinner companions did. With a couple of beers each, the whole meal cost $85 per person, which is not unreasonable but overall we probably won't be back.

Lagoon Dining takes traditional Chinese flavours and elevates them to a whole new level in their Modern Asian eatery. They know their food as their fusion of Western flavours in traditional cooking is no joke. Always scared to try fusion food as my inner Asian blood will get analytical and be disappointed. Lagoon Dining did not disappoint. Food: 4.5/5 Value: 4.5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5

My rating star increases as long as the staff keep sending the dishes to the table. The decorations is no doubt 5 star but space was little bit narrow in the restaurant. This is an Asian style fine dining. When I firstly looked at the menu I found how greedy the restaurant is charging way too high for those daily common Chinese cuisine. We ordered the Lion’s head meat ball, the beef tongue, the beef tartare, the rice noodles roll and the steamed fish. There are reasons why the food worth their price. Their lion’s head flavored super traditional even better than those Chinese chefs restaurant. The beef tartare has also flavored as Thai style with veggies to decrease the hot feeling. Must try! The steamed fish is friendly to those who cannot spit fish bone properly. The restaurant has altered the dishes flavored to make them suitable for costumers from anywhere. Super special. Recommended

Wonderful. Nice, clean modern but warm ambiance, with open kitchen in the back and bar seating available for those who want to watch the action. Inventive adaptations of various Asian dishes showcase the excellent produce and ingredients with creative flair. The results are delicious and flavour-packed with good balance across each course in the fair-value Feed Me degustation menu. Thoughtfully put-together wine list is broad enough to have something for everyone while still being approachable. Lovely staff who clearly care and know what they’re doing. Highly recommended.

The food here is pretty exceptional. Every time we’ve come here there’s been something new to delight in. The char siu is special and the rolled noodles are the best!! The menu has a high emphasis on vegetables, and all the vege based dishes were probably our favourites. Good little wine list too, and the house cocktails were tasty.

Came here for Valentines Day dinner and it was really good. We particularly enjoyed the smoked tiger prawns with shellfish vinaigrette and barramundi in hunan chilli dressing. We would get the shellfish vinaigrette and put it on all our dishes. Slightly disappointed with the steamed egg custard which probably is their rendition of chiwamushi - the egg custard was not silky enough to our liking and it could probably be more flavourful with more dashi stock. The sticky rice was very dry and I like my glutinous rice moist and sticky (as the name goes) so that was not a very fulfilling dish.

Delish Hongkong influenced dishes - though the name 'Lagoon' does not exactly suggest that it's Chinese! Good services. Dim light, comfy ambiance, almost dark and quiet from the outside Found this restaurant during COVID time, a rare Asian dining on busy Italian Lygons street and we keep coming back. Dishes we tried were all beautiful! Try away

Food was faultless, every dish was delicious. Highlight was probably the ceviche & the steak tartare! Nice cosy spot on Lygon street. Would get 5 stars but the service was unfortunately miserable!
