Lagniappe is a lively, bohemian wine bar in Miami with a charming outdoor patio, eclectic decor, barbecue bites, and nightly live jazz.
"Lagniappe is the most popular wine bar in Miami, and with good reason. Whether you’re here to celebrate someone’s birthday, go on a first date, or meet up with a few friends, this place requires zero brain power from you, the designated planner. Just show up. There are cramped jazz concerts happening nightly at 9pm inside, and fridges full of wine outside, which you grab yourself and bring to the register. There are no servers waiting tables—just squirmish guests trying to hurry up and pay so they can go secure a table outside. The earlier you come, the easier it is to get one of those tables." - mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"Lagniappe is proof that not all wine bars are quiet, dim places that feel more like libraries. This place gets packed and loud both inside—where you’ll find a weekly rotation of great jazz and plenty of good wine—and outside, which is a back patio that all other back patios should aspire to be. There are string lights and tons of tables that look like they were collected from years of nearby garage sales. It’s hard to get one of those tables on the weekend though. But if Lagniappe looks too crowded, here are some alternatives nearby." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"Yes, Lagniappe is more a place to drink than eat, but the mostly outdoor wine bar in Edgewater does have a small food menu that’s good enough to justify coming here for dinner even though the silverware is plastic. After you grab a bottle of wine inside, head to the backyard to order something from the grill: churrasco, mahi, salmon, chicken, and sautéed veggies are all solid options in addition to the very good meat and cheese plates. Come on the earlier side and you won’t have to compete for a table with a thousand first dates." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"Lagniappe is proof that not all wine bars are quiet, dim places that feel like libraries. This place gets packed both inside—where you’ll find a weekly rotation of great jazz and plenty of good wine in a slightly cramped space—and outside, which is a back patio that all other back patios should aspire to be. It’s hard to get one of those outdoor tables on the weekend. So come early (like, 6pm) or just do laps until you see an opening. You can find bottles of wine between $30 and $40 and there's also beer (statistically cheaper). A night spent drinking wine and eating cheese here really satisfies all the senses, and is, of course, super cute. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"While it’s first and foremost a wine bar, Lagniappe is also a perfectly acceptable place to eat—as long as you’re OK with doing so outside because that’s pretty much your only option. But it works for a fun meal where you can catch up with friends or take a date who's comfortable with crowds. They’ve got a small but respectable food menu with things like churrasco, mahi, salmon, chicken, and sautéed veggies. They also have a not-so-small but equally respectable meat and cheese plate, which you should absolutely order if you have at least two people to help you finish it." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
