This place is magnificent. First, the products are quality, featuring books from major mills that they can order, stock from both vintage and current fabrics available in the shop, many varieties of horsehair canvass, tip collar canvass in various rigidity, linings in all colors and weights, shoulder pads, multiple trouser waistbands, hand silk, etc. A tailor supply store trapped in time. They also have dead stock bolt ends from various periods in time (70s, 80’s 90’s, etc) that are all priced based on length (between 1-2 meters is one price, 2-3 meters a bit more, 3-4 meters more still). my kind of place!
Second, the staff - Pierre and Virgil provided the best customer experience I have had in quite some time. I am a nerd when it comes to cloth and tailoring (hobbyist, currently). They know their stuff in here, and clearly enjoy working in the shop - their passion is evident. I bought some dead stock bolt ends, and left (after shooting the breeze, in English, which they are both conversationally fluent in for a while) with samples of their chest and top collar canvasses, which they offered, unprompted.
Really looking forward to supporting this place with my business in the future, and hope to be back in Paris to visit again in person, sooner rather than later.
