This place is magnificent. First, the products are quality, featuring books from major mills that they can order, stock from both vintage and current fabrics available in the shop, many varieties of horsehair canvass, tip collar canvass in various rigidity, linings in all colors and weights, shoulder pads, multiple trouser waistbands, hand silk, etc. A tailor supply store trapped in time. They also have dead stock bolt ends from various periods in time (70s, 80’s 90’s, etc) that are all priced based on length (between 1-2 meters is one price, 2-3 meters a bit more, 3-4 meters more still). my kind of place! Second, the staff - Pierre and Virgil provided the best customer experience I have had in quite some time. I am a nerd when it comes to cloth and tailoring (hobbyist, currently). They know their stuff in here, and clearly enjoy working in the shop - their passion is evident. I bought some dead stock bolt ends, and left (after shooting the breeze, in English, which they are both conversationally fluent in for a while) with samples of their chest and top collar canvasses, which they offered, unprompted. Really looking forward to supporting this place with my business in the future, and hope to be back in Paris to visit again in person, sooner rather than later.

Top! This is by far is your best choice for fabric, materials and textiles in Paris. The reason for my review.. companies such as Lafayette Saltiel Drapiers must be recognized and honoured for the lost art they provided me of exceptional customer service, products and sincerity. I was able to find what I wanted for my project and I was given advice on where to source other materials for alternative projects. Sincerity, care and knowledge! Three things that are rare to find these days! I highly recommend Lafayette Saltiel Drapiers! Also ideal for English speakers.

Wonderful experience in the heart of Paris. Was welcomed by a very friendly gentleman who spoke great English. He did every effort to help me find the perfect fabric for my wallet and skill. This place is a treasure trove, where you will find gems you have thought to be extinct. They have a great section of vintage fabrics from the ‘70s. I came out of the shop with a wonderful piece of fabric, a great experience and a wonderful recommendation for lunch. The point is: go here, you will not be disappointed.

This is a must visit place for me in Paris. You’ll get top class customer service and a wide selection of vintage fabrics that are super hard to come by these days. Prices are fair and the current generation boss, Virgil is very patient in explaining to you the fabrics. They do not rush you into any decision in purchasing and instead, are able to hold genuine conversations with you as you browse. Please visit! I know I’ll be back!

We had the best experience there and are thankful for the exceptional private consultation. All the staff members are very friendly and welcoming. The environment is very calm and the wide range of materials is amazing. They only offer the pest quality in every product. We’ll come back for sure.

Outstanding selection of fine fabrics, including a wide selection of vintage cloths; perfect for anyone looking for fabric for a bespoke commission; Virgil and Pierre both speak English and are very knowledgeable and help you understand the advantages of each cloth; they guide you in making the right choice - showing you the cloths in different light and encouraging you to take your time in making your selection.
