A stylish waterfront gem serving elevated Peruvian and fusion cuisine, featuring exquisite dishes and spectacular views that make it a must-visit.
"While we're on the topic of expensive brunch buffets, here's another we really enjoy. La Mar is one of our favorite Peruvian restaurants in Miami, and their $135 per person Sunday brunch is proudly Peruvian too. Buffet dishes include multiple forms of ceviche, anticucho, a build-your-own sopa criolla station, and snapper jalea that’s good even though it’s a little cold. They do take each table’s two-hour limit seriously. But that’s plenty of time to stuff your face with pulpo al olivo, bottomless pisco sours, and lomo saltado topped with a fried egg, which is one of the entree options you get to pick in addition to the buffet. As is always the case at this waterfront spot, sit outside if it’s nice. They have a small army of umbrellas for shade and spontaneous rain protection." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"La Mar is a Peruvian restaurant on the mysterious millionaire island known as Brickell Key. They serve some of the best Peruvian food in town, and their waterfront views are also pretty stellar—so good that it's almost not even worth coming here unless you can sit outside. In terms of food, you can't go wrong starting with the very good traditional Peruvian ceviche. They also make a great lomo saltado and have rotating anticucho options, including an excellent version with veal heart." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"Buried below the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Brickell Key’s La Mar by Gaston Acurio is all about the atmosphere. The terrace boasts views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline, while the sleek interior offers a more energetic vibe. When it comes to the food, ceviche is a must, along with other Peruvian classics like lomo saltado and arroz con mariscos." - Eater Staff
"Christmas Eve includes a family-style pork feast and buffet featuring grilled beef heart, chicken, and shrimp skewers. There is also a seafood station with rice and scallops, whole fish nikkei, empanadas, and salads. Price: Adults (21+) $185 includes two-hour dinner with drinks, ages 7-20 $95" - Alona Martinez
"This waterfront restaurant inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel serves a menu filled with delectable ceviche options, including a ceviche olivo made with Spanish octopus, Peruvian cotija olives leche de tigre, and an intriguing combination of shaved fennel, crunchy bacon, and cured egg yolk. Another great option is the cebiche chalice, which blends grouper, shrimp, and octopus with choclo, cancha, onions, and a punchy, spicy rocoto leche de tigre." - Juliana Accioly
