"Why we love it: A soulful getaway with access to the best of Todos Santos The Highlights: - Guest rooms stocked with luxury linens, alpaca throws, and locally made bath products - The farm-fresh breakfast served on the palapa-shaded patio - On-site hosts who will arrange everything from paddle-boarding trips to art walks The Review: With their otomi print–clad headboards, colorful talavera tiles, and eclectic hanging lanterns, the eight adobe-and-thatch guest rooms at La Bohemia may inspire you to quit your day job and make Todos Santos your permanent home. The boutique hotel’s husband-and-wife owners fell in love with the place five years ago when they stumbled upon it during a South American road trip and are happy to ensure you enjoy the property as much as they do, whether you use it as an adventure base lodge (they can arrange surfing lessons, fishing trips, and swimming with sea lions) or an escape from the bustle of downtown Todos Santos. A palapa-shaded patio hosts regular yoga classes, mezcal tastings, and fish taco nights, while a lush tropical garden dotted with loungers and hammocks encourages late-afternoon siestas. There’s also a lovely outdoor pool, plus a beach just a short walk from the hotel (guests also have access to nearby El Faro Beach Club, with a spa and saltwater pool). While there’s no on-site restaurant, there is daily farm-fresh breakfast and on-site bar La Panga Rosa for house mojitos and margaritas. And there are plenty more dining options within strolling distance, nestled among the shops and galleries of hip Todos Santos."

This is the fourth year in a row that I've stayed at La Bohemia and somehow it just keeps getting better. The rooms are great, walkable to everything in town, yet just a block or two away from hustle and bustle of downtown so you can come back to your little oasis. The dining area allows you to chat with other travelers during breakfast and also enjoy the variety of relaxing lounging furniture. They served something different for breakfast every morning during my week long stay all the food was excellent. The pool was great to cool off in when the temperatures outside got back above 90 for a couple days. I'll be back again next year!

Just want to start off that we’ve travelled all over the world and have stayed in many boutique hotels. We’re use to staying off the beaten path and sometimes in not the most glamorous settings. I don’t normally write negative reviews but feel this one’s necessary as the high ratings of this hotel and positive reviews duped me into paying far too much for the experience. Hopefully I can help others so they aren’t defrauded by this place. Our “deluxe suite”, had a little gap in the old door which didn’t close properly. This let in lots of uninvited guests such as spiders, cockroaches, and small flies/gnats which are common in todos. As other reviews have mentioned ear plugs are absolutely necessary given the location in not the best area of town and the constant car/dog noise all night every night. For reference we live in a city and are use to loud noises. Were we uncomfortable nightly because of the amount of insects, spiders and noise? Sure. But most of all was the infestation of bedbugs that we started finding, and consistently being itchy. This should be intolerable for a hotel that charges this much and with this great of reviews. Not to mention its references in guidebooks. I spent one night from 2-4am looking for a new hotel which I found and almost booked (better reviews and nicer btw), but couldn’t bring myself to eat the cost of two hotels considering we were already infected with bed bugs anyway…. The pool is small with little to no place to lounge, there’s an honour bar and free breakfast. It’s old, with little to no view of a sunset which is amazing in the area, with gaps in the roof and door. We spent $1000 USD for four nights. There are much nicer, more modern, and better located places to stay for the same price or cheaper. This place should be ashamed for what it charges. It’s essentially a hostel with private rooms not a nice boutique hotel. Hope this helps someone, I’m currently trying to sanitize all my clothes in a garage after a 5 hour flight home. Cheers. Update to owner’s response - My review is honest and fair actually, you can literally see the infestation in my pictures….I find it ironic that it takes you two paragraphs of blaming your guests for not talking to you before apologizing or having any empathy about a bed bug infestation in a room you sold for $1000 USD! You gave us your phone number because you left right after we checked in and it was just us at the property for the entire night. I used it to contact you about a blow dryer for my fiancé that the room says it comes with and didn’t. We never once ate breakfast or used your beach chairs. We spent as little time possible at the property because it was so uncomfortable. Hopefully you can fix your bed bug issue and ego…🤦🏻‍♂️

We would stay at La Bohemia again in a heartbeat. A little off the beaten path, but a perfect oasis of tranquility, while being close to the vibrant downtown. ||We were welcomed in the early evening by Denis who kept in great communication with us prior to our arrival. We were given a tour of the property, along with the run down of our room. The front desk closes each evening, but she ensured we had everything we needed before she departed for the night. ||The room was decorated with rich cultural pieces. And stocked with everything we would need for a longer stay. The bed was comfortable and the linens were perfect. ||We could not get enough of the patio and view of the pool. The grounds were lush and well manicured. Lots of seating areas with shade and sun. ||We will be back for sure!

Lovely staff. My stay at La Bohemia was such a pleasure. There was an amount of barking dogs in the evening, but the provided sound machine did the trick to disguise any noise. The location was right in the center of town, which was perfect, I recommend! Great stay.

Absolutely enchanting. La Bohemia is a special enclave and if you have the opportunity to stay, do it! Located right in town you can walk out the door into all the charm of Todos Santos. You enter the hotel gate into lush gardens that surround each unique room across several buildings. A central palapa and pool provide a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Amazing linens and mattresses (you can buy both in the gift shop), chic Baja decor and delicious coffee and breakfast every day. If you are looking for something extra unique and stylish, bespoke and full of personal touches, La Bohemia is your place.

While this hotel is conveniently located in town, has lovely grounds, and a pleasant staff, our room, #5 (a classic “suite”), was not a suite but a tiny windowless concrete block room with a bathroom so small you had to sit sideways on the toilet or bump into the sink. We should have been alarmed when we saw one of the room amenities were earplugs. There is a discotheque on the next block with a heavy metal sound system that played until 3:30 am. Avoid this place.

Very nice boutique hotel 5 minute walk to the busy streets but in a quiter area.|Every detail is very tasty|Good breakfast|Very good attention.|Our only concern was the loud dogs that bark and even fight by night. Earplugs where supplied by default so it maybe a frecuent issue in a calm street.

We stayed one night here on the recommendation of our other hotel because it was already booked out. The grounds are lovely and you feel like you are in a cozy personal home behind the gate. The room was fine and the bed was comfy. It definitely is not a five star hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. Our a/c didn't work, but there was no one on property to mention this to after we checked in at 3. Also, there was no one ever at the bar to make cocktails as advertised. They did have an honor system for purchasing beer/water/soft drinks though. The breakfast was good and the location was convenient for walking into town.

Yelp
Fantastic little hotel in Todos Santos! One of, if not the only, kid friendly places in the area. We spent a week here with our 10 month old and couldn't have been happier. The hotel itself is lovely, with nice sized rooms, especially if you book the upstairs apartment. The grounds are tidy but not overly manicured. The real star here is the staff. They make you feel like family as soon as you arrive, we were so sad to leave at the end of our stay. The dail y breakfast included in your room rate is fantastic and generously portioned, they even brought a simpler breakfast for our baby the first couple of days until we realized she is a big fan of salsa Verde and was happy to share ours. There's a well stocked honest bar for after the bar tender leaves, but I would encourage you try the house cocktails. I'm still dreaming about Axel's palomas! We miss our new friends and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The most wonderful experience I've had in Mexico for a LONG time. The staff treats their guests the way they should; attentive but reclusive when necessary. The food is dependably tasty. The rooms are comfortable. Stay here.

Yelp
This place is absolutely perfect! Cool vibes and environment. GREAT breakfasts. The comfiest bed and pillows. Super clean. Beautiful property. Awesome staff to help you with whatever you need. Someone even chopped a piece of aloe for my sunburn. The only downfall was the barking dogs at 2am. But you are staying in the middle of a town in Mexico so...

Yelp
A secluded gem in the heart of Todos Santos with breakfast daily and a staff who can accommodate anything. For longer stays ask for a deal! This place is amazing and our stay was incredible. We rented the entire place for 3 days 2 nights. Will rent again when I return.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and were absolutely thrilled with this place! It is in town, but off of the main drag so you can walk easily to all of the town's attractions but it is on a more quiet side street. The owners and staff are very kind and welcoming and gave us a lot of great ideas about what to do while we were in town. Upon arrival we got upgraded to a larger room, and it was perfect! Breakfast both days was delicious, we used the day pass to go to the El Faro private beach club which we enjoyed, and we even signed up for the romantic dinner which was to die for. We highly recommend this place - it is the perfect Todos Santos experience!

Yelp
I stayed at La Bohemia for a week and will not ever do so again. This hotel is charming and the staff are very friendly and warm. The woman who serves breakfast has lots of local knowledge and good recommendations. However, I would definitely not stay there again for two reasons. 1. The photos on the website are misleading and make it look much nicer than it is. Yes, it is cute, but def not worth $200 a night. 2. I checked in one evening and left a brand new Patagonia sweater in the small reception room. By the time I got to my room and realized, the reception was locked. It is a tiny, intimate place so I thought no problem, I would get it in the morning. I went first thing in the morning and it was gone. The staff didn't know about it and said they would ask the check in guy. Every day for a week, I went morning and night and every day they told me someone had the sweater and was bringing it back. The whole place is super tiny -how hard is it to find the sweater? At the end of the week, there was no sweater. They promised to mail it to me because the owner's family comes to the US often. It has been three months and nothing. I just emailed them again to ask and the person said she never heard about this and has no idea what I am talking about. I know, it is just a sweater, but I left it in the tiny reception area for about 12 hours and for a week they gave me a run around and kept telling me to come back later. I would rather they just said they stole it and not to think about it again. There were other small things that left a bad taste, like when I was lying on the outdoor bed reading and the owner was having a drink with a visiting friend and the table and was laughing about how much someone just paid for the whole hotel for a wedding, sharing that it was tax free income and how much people wil pay for weddings. When you visit an overpriced little hotel, it just doesn't feel great to hear the owner laughing about how much people will pay. Overall, I left feeling like I was scammed and would not return. I only recommend this if you have money to burn. It is cute, the breakfast was nice but you can definitely get better value, and more respect, elsewhere.
