"Best Breakfast in Town There are a lot of great places to eat in the North Shore town of Haleiwa but Kono's is by far my favorite. Their menu ranges from banana macadamia nut waffles to breakfast sliders (the biscuits are delicious!) to wraps to Kalua Pig in a variety of preparations. And milkshakes, delicious milkshakes. Kono's is known for its breakfast bombers - tortillas filled with egg, potatoes, cheese and your choice of filling. My favorite was the Haleiwa filled with Hawaiian pulled pork. They definitely fill you up and are perfect after a day of surfing on the North Shore. It's located at the front of the North Shore Marketplace next to the Quiksilver North Shore Boardriders Club surf shop. It's open only for breakfast and lunch. You can also eat for free on your birthday. By Christine"

"Surfing burns an awful lot of energy, so it’s not surprising that the North Shore is equipped with a few hearty breakfast spots. After a long morning in the ocean, locals go to Kono’s for breakfast burritos, pulled pork, and seriously good milkshakes. Not surprisingly, the pulled pork breakfast burrito, which combines all of their best dishes, is the must-order menu item (though brave souls should also try their Spam breakfast burrito—it's the equivalent of trying Vegemite in Australia)."

"Kono’s Northshore is famous for pulled Kalua pork slow-roasted for 12 hours, and then served in toasted French roll sandwiches, inside its version of a burrito dubbed a bomber, and in plate lunches and bowls. Kono’s got its start in Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oʻahu back in 2002, and the new Washington Avenue location in Las Vegas is the company’s first restaurant outside of Hawai’i. The restaurant opens daily at 7 a.m. with breakfast bombers served with eggs, cheese, and potatoes, and wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, with optional extras of bacon, pork and Portuguese sausage. Lunch sandwiches arrive with Maui onion potato chips and fillings of turkey, Kalua pulled pork, bacon, and avocado, and servings of white rice are added to the plate lunches. Kono’s also pours multiple flavors of milkshakes, including orange popsicle, cinnamon roll, Key lime, and coconut cream pie flavors." - Bradley Martin

Spotted this place, driving around and decided to stop. First of all, the staff was awesome. Very friendly and gave great recommendations. I ordered the pork plate lunch. They also have sauces you can add on the condiment counter, so I grabbed some BBQ sauce. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center where it's located and parking is free. During events, parking could be difficult to find, though. Anyhow, the Kalua pork was absolutely amazing! Very tender and flavorful. Tried the pork with the BBQ sauce, and I have to say either option is great, but what I really base my reviews on is the stand alone taste of the food and I have to say I was very happy with the taste. We all were, actually. We all had some form of pork. My buddy and his wife raved about their Kalua pig nachos. It seems that rice is pretty standard here in Hawaii with meals, and ours came with the rice. It also came with a salad that had papaya seed dressing. I really liked the dressing. I could drink that stuff. All in all, this place and service was great. We did want to eat outside, but there were too many little black ants crawling on the picnic tables outside, so we ended up going in. I do highly recommend stopping by and trying their food. You won't be disappointed! If you read my review, please hit the like button. Thank you.

Service was fantastic, and strawberry lemonade was to die for!! Our food was good, but didn’t wow us. (We got the Hawaiian bowl, and the Old School sandwich) I’ll admit we were not super hungry when we came, so perhaps not ready lol, but this location closes so early and we wanted to try! I think if we were to eat here again I’d try some of the breakfast options, those seem to be more popular.

The breakfast burritos are definitely a lot (1 lb) but its over filled with the eggs and potatoes (which were seasoned really well). The meat option I selected was bacon and it was one thin piece in a small section of the burrito. The cheese was also barely mixed in. The strawberry lemonade was really great though!

Great spot for breakfast after a morning session surfing at Pua’ena Point. Been meaning to stop for a while and finally got ‘round to it. Their signature item is the breakfast bomber (basically a burrito), of which they have a half dozen or so to choose from. I had the Chun’s (I assume named after the surf spot Chun’s Reef), which had the standard scrambled eggs, cheese and breakfast potatoes, plus bacon and kailua pork. Considering the portion size and on ‘the strip’ in Haleiwa very reasonably priced. Optionally you can add avocado, sour cream or salsa for an extra couple of bucks. It’s served with a little container of hot sauce which I think would have been good with it, but I ate it driving home so that was a bridge too far. Will definitely be back.

When we went I had the Queens Bomber. It was pretty darn good. The meat was cooked just right (chorizo) and the burrito was delicious.
