Things I want to try in Tokyo
Kamatama Chuka soba Napoleon ken

This mixed noodle shop is a bit cramped, but offers very creamy and delicious maze-soba. You'll first have to choose using the ticketing machine at the center part of the ramen shop. I went for the slightly deluxe version. The bowl came out within minutes after ordering and boy was it glowing! The thick noodles combined with raw egg is just phenomenal. Add the fresh onions, bamboo shoots and soft pork belly and nothing can stop me from finishing the bowl in seconds, lol. Just for your reference, the inari (vinegar rice wrapped in tofu) is also highly recommended here, which I intend to try next time I'm here! Crowd Size: Very High Payment Method: PayPay

For the last year, Kamatama Chukasoba ramen has on my list of ramen places to visit. After finally visiting it, I am sad to admit that I’m a blooming idiot because they serve a truly fantastic ramen that I could have been eating a number of times throughout the year; but NO, I had to delay. Stupid. Anyhow, the ramen is served kamatama style, which means the noodles are served with a raw egg and a stock infused broth. In addition, I opted to add spicy onions and roasted pork. It was delicious. The noodles were chewy and hearty; the pork was seasoned perfectly; and the mix of onions and egg was delightful. This is a must visit ramen shop!!

Wow. I wasn't expecting that and didn't read anything about this place at all. Just stumbled upon it in my exploration walks in the area. Their specialty is a like a marriage of mazesoba and jiro ramen in a soupless but rather sauce form. Noodles are enjoyably chewy and firm. The discovery of flavors as I mix the different combinations of condiments in front of me to my bowl are just of different dimensions every single time. I finished it scooping more from the already empty bowl. One of the very few remaining Ramen joints that are still below JPY1k even if you upsize. A definite must try modern ramen spot.

This is my favorite noodle/ramen shop at the moment. They specialize in kamatama, which is noodles with raw egg. You can get the regular version, the version with pork, the spicy onion version, or the combo. I opted for the pork and spicy onion bowl and it was fantastic. Then you can add about 8 different condiments which let you customize it to your liking. Not only are the noodles good, but the oinarisan are an absolute must. Fast and friendly service and just a great experience.

Chewy noodles with different types of ingredients make it a very flavorful and satisfying dish. I especially like their additions of spice and vinegar, キクラゲand ニラ. Moreover it’s open on weekend afternoon!! Perfect place to go for weekend carbs satisfaction.

Best Chuka soba in all of Japan. It's true. Extremely affordable. The best music is played while you eat.

New noodle shop nearby the station. The noodles are chewy and the broth is flavorful. Prices are great, Small: 490, Med: 590, Large:690. You order from a small ticket machine (cash only). Seating is limited to a few counter seats in a very cramped format. On the counter there are dividers between customers during COVID. There are tons of condiments on the counter to add to your noodles. My favorite is to add the fried shallots, the pickled mushroom, garlic and the mushroom oil. YUM. Unclear if you can add additional toppings such as meat, etc. Make sure to try the inari! Yummy and only ¥250 for 2 pieces

Ramen with rich, distinct, and bold flavors!! You have to try this place which will be unlike any other type of ramen you’ve had! I highly recommend the 辛ネギ釜玉 (topped with spicy green onions) 👌👌👌 リッチmeans chashu and bamboo shoots are also included. The noodles are thick and also perfectly chewy 😋 Be prepared to queue though since it’s a small space with limited seats. They’ll also ask you to place your order via vending machine inside the restaurant once you get to the front of the queue and before they seat you.
