"Open for: Lunch and dinnerPrice range: $Tori paitan (creamy chicken broth for ramen) is rich and comforting, like grandma’s chicken soup. The broth clings to the thin straight noodles as one slurps. At Kagari, seasonal and colorful vegetables such as watermelon radish, snap peas, and kabocha squash top the dish and rotate throughout the year. Use the side dish of grated ginger and fried garlic, along with a bottle of vinegar from the counter, to brighten up and adjust the umami-rich soup to your liking. Know before you go: The main Ginza shop is on a quiet pedestrian back street, but the sister shop at the Roppongi Hills complex isn’t as crowded." - Yukari Sakamoto

"Awarded: Bib Gourmand. Search tip: if you spot a snaking queue, you're probably on the right track. Located down an unmarked alley in the middle of Tokyo's Ginza district is the Kagari ramen-ya. Kagari offers its ramen in two very contrasting styles. The tori-paitan soba is served in a luscious, thick soup the color and consistency of creamed corn, and the niboshi-shoyu soba is a dark, soy-based broth made from dried sardines." - Alethea Tan

Ginza Kagari’s tori paitan ramen features a thick and creamy chicken-based broth with noodles, perfectly cooked cabbage and carrot, and slices of tender chicken. You can add more toppings and flavors and on this brisk day I opted for the garlic butter, which intensified the already rich broth. Other ramen spots worth a trip include Suzuran, Afuri, and many, many others.

I was lucky to arrive around noon and didn’t have to queue. The first bite of the ramen was really impressive, the black truffle and creamy broth made it a very unique fusion-style. However, the portion was quite large and towards the end it got a bit heavy and rich. Still, definitely worth trying at least once.

We queued for about an hour for this delicious Chicken Paitan Ramen restaurant, and it was well worth the wait. The restaurant is small, so you are waiting for patrons to finish up. As you wait, you will be given the menu to decide on your order. The standout here is their Chicken Paitan Ramen. The menu has a variety of add-ons for the ramen, I went with the Special Chicken Paitan Ramen, which comes with a side dish of additional toppings. The ramen broth was so flavorful and it made for a unique meal. For a side dish, we also got the Char Siu Chicken Rice Bowl with Butter and Truffle Soy Sauce. This was a good addition for more food and was perfect to share between two people. Overall, I had an excellent meal at Ginza Kagari and would absolutely recommend them for anyone visiting Tokyo! follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Google
Very small ramen place. They have a machine to queue and you can receive an email when it’s ready but I recommend to just stay there and wait until your number is called. They will give you the menu while outside, you will be asked what you want, one of you needs to go in and pay, then you wait outside and wait until you’re called again to sit inside. It is located in a small dark alley which doesn’t look very nice but the place itself is nice and cute, very small. I had the chicken creamy broth with all its toppings. I was amazing!! My boyfriend got the truffle one but I liked more mine.

Google
I went there Sunday morning, only few people waiting in front of the shop. There’s around 20 seats inside. You select the menu and pay at the machine before they take you to the counter seat. Cards are accepted but cash isn’t. I ordered the chicken paitan ramen and added an egg. The soup was great, chicken a bit dried, the egg was perfect.

Incredible Truffle Chicken Ramen Worth the Wait in Ginza We had an amazing bowl of truffle-flavored chicken ramen in Ginza that was absolutely worth the wait. The process is well-organized: first, you line up on the right to place your order, then move to the left line to wait for seating. At around 1:30 PM, the total wait time was about 30–40 minutes. Once inside, our food was served almost immediately. We ordered the special chicken shoyu ramen—a chicken-based ramen with a rich, deeply flavored broth infused with truffle. The broth was insanely tasty and full of depth—honestly, one of the best, if not the best ramen we had in Tokyo It’s more expensive than other ramen places in Tokyo but it makes sense since it’s in Ginza.

Google
This place is well known for the extremely rich chicken paitan ramen. The broth is silky smooth, yet really really rich. It is almost a creamy consistency. This location is always packed. I tend to go to the other branch to avoid the lines. Otemachi one has no lines at all.,

Google
Best ramen I’ve ever had. Worth the wait 100 times over. Huge serving, so be ready to eat! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can be a little difficult to find.. is in an alley behind where Google will take you. Best for groups of 3 or smaller, otherwise you may have to split up or wait longer to enter. The space is small. We split our 4 person group in two, but then we’re lucky to be able to move by each other when others left. Please be aware that though someone will likely speak English outside, that is not so much the case inside. Don’t be rude to the hosts. You’re a visitor. *There was a lot of tourists (guilty) and I was shocked at how some of them treated the staff. 10/10 don’t miss this spot.

Google
We went this rain and take a quilt wait about 15 minutes not too bad . Amazing soup taste was very thick and delicious, if you go to Tokyo must taste it ! You never regret

Yelp
Tried out this place for weekday lunch around 1pm and got their classic chicken paiton ramen. The food and broth was amazing and worth the wait! There was approximately 25 people ahead of me in line and it was around a 40 minute wait, but once you are seated the food is pretty much served to you immediately. The lines can be confusing: one line (has a sign) is for ordering, then the other (longer) line is for a seat once you have your order ticket. Parties of 1 can sometimes skip the entire line, whereas parties of 2+ will need to wait more for seats together.

Yelp
The best chicken ramen I've had. From the first sip and slurp, you know you're in for a treat. The broth is simple perfect. Rich and flavorful without being heavy. Delicious creamy texture. The noodles come piping hot and have a nice texture. The assortment of toppings is unique, varied, and generous. Definitely worth the wait. The place is small, but functional. Service is efficient, but makes you feel welcome. If you like ramen, this may be a must try.

Yelp
Our first night in Japan and while exploring the streets of Ginza we stumbled upon here. Found a line and walked closer to explore. We waited not too long. About 30 minutes. You'll order in one line and then go to the other when you've paid. Once inside your order is ready I had the chicken ramen here last night, and it was fantastic! The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful--perfectly comforting and satisfying. The noodles were outstanding, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of chewiness. Every bite was a delight! If you're craving a hearty bowl of ramen, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly recommend! Inside seats about 12 in the main counter and another 4-5 on the side

Yelp
Yum! I see why people are excited about the Chicken Paitan. The soup is so creamy and silky while the noodles have a perfect sizing and density. The soba noodles are surprisingly low in buckwheat? I'm still not sure if they are made of buckwheat or a different kind of soba noodle. Others in my group ordered the porcini Shoyu Tsukemen. I think you cannot go wrong with your order here. But the large was too large for them so be ready to eat if you decide to go big. It actually only took about 15-20 min from waiting in line to getting food. We waited in one line to order and purchase food and then another to actually go in and eat. Initially they split up our party of three and seated two of us first. This made me nervous but then they quickly sat our third (who graciously said they could wait) and the wait allowed them to seat us all together. So anxiety averted. Kudos to Kagari!

Yelp
My absolute favorite ramen in Tokyo. This is the ramen I dream about. It is so good and I'm wondering why we haven't seen this replicated in LA yet haha. I believe they are Michelin Bib?! They deserve it. It's just so delicious. They specialize in chicken ramen. It's filling yet delicate at the same time. There's a creamy flavor and the vegetables in it our great. You can easily drink all the broth too! This location is in an alleyway and the line was superrrrr long. I can't remember the wait but even with it raining there was a long line. It was so worth it though. Near the end of my trip I found out they had an Azubudai location and that one had no line! Needless to say I went back and got it. I will definitely be eating here for all future trips

Yelp
Known for it's chicken paitan ramen in a back alley of Ginza. the place is so hidden and the address took us to a different location. took me a little to find the place that's in the back of what google maps shows. The line is huge, almost gave up but Im glad we waited for an hour. it was a bit confusing as there are two lines with no sign which line to line up. Went inside to ask they told me one is for people to buy ticket, one is for people already have tickets and ready to be seated. the space inside is very small, a chef's counter then a line of seats facing the wall. I was seated against the wall. just basically eat and go. dont expect anything fancy. it's a tiny and crowded space like a lot of ramen places in Japan. the chicken paitan ramen is so delicious. the broth is thick and creamy , loaded with collagen. there's just couple pieces of chicken breast which are pretty bland and a little wonton. the broth is so rich that I'm not mad that they dont have much toppings.

Yelp
amazing food it was flavorful like crazy be sure to get the extra super set and a coca cola. i also got the dipping ramen which was also top tier. i recommend coming here the wait isnt too long and service is amazing. the setting is cozy vibes and always packed ambiance isn't too loud and wooden

Yelp
Small ramen shop that specializes in chicken ramen. I had my hopes pretty high for this place because several people told me this was their favorite ramen in Japan/Tokyo. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of eating a bunch of food at tsukiji outer market before eating this bowl of ramen and was already very full. The chicken broth is much heavier and thicker than I expected, almost a bit gritty like there was chickpea in it. My husband got the truffle version and thought it was a bit too overpowering with the truffle but otherwise tasty. The chicken was tender and seasoned, but nothing too spectacular IMO. I think I'm more of a shoyu/lighter broth ramen kind of gal so perhaps that's why this didn't appeal to me as much. Perhaps I'll have to give it another try on the next visit.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and there was already a line. The line is fast though so it's worth the wait! My friend who is also a native in Japan also recommended this place. Anyways, there's two lines, one to order and the other is to be seated. The unique flavors like clams and the other seafoods were sold out by the time we got there so I ended up getting the original chicken dish. I was a bit skeptical at first because chicken is a hard protein to perfect and this was also my first time ordering a chicken ramen dish. Regardless, they nailed it. The ramen was unique and different. The flavor, meat, and toppings were fresh. The soup wasn't as thick and heavy, which was to my liking. The chicken was also tender and juicy. The presentation was very simple yet elegant. I ended up finishing the whole entire bowl, including the soup. It was honestly an irresistible dish. The restaurant does have limited amount of seating, so I ended up sitting separately from two of my other friends. They were Bib Gourmand a while back and I can see why. If I come back, I would, it's worth the try!

Yelp
Michelin Ramen without the crazy wait? Yes please. Kagari specialized in Paitan ramen which is a chicken based broth which isnt the most common you find around. They also boast that coveted Michelin rating, and what better thing to do when you're hungry in Ginza than to go and grab a bowl. Recently a new ramen spot in Ginza has drawn all the crowds which opens up the opportunity to get into Kagari for probably only about a 30 min wait for most, but today we showed up with a group of 4 and just so happened to get in with the first seating, and this was only about 10 minutes before they opened on a Friday. Grabbed the Paitan special with truffle. I've had it before without the truffle which the broth itself is something special, and with super bouncy medium firm noods. This time though with the truffle I have to say it takes the umami of the paitan broth to the next level, so make sure you get the one with truffle its only a few dollars more. I've been here a few other times, and would say the Tsukemen is ok, but what you want to get here for sure is the ramen and specifically their paitan ramen. A delicious michelin meal in the middle of Ginza. When you need to take a break from the shopping make sure you stop by here to refuel!

Yelp
Another delicious ramen place in Tokyo- hidden in a back alley in the Ginza district. If you go, be sure to first get in the left line to buy your ticket, and then after you have a ticket, you get into the right line to enter. It's a little strange- not sure the rationale as I saw several ppl confused and there isn't obvious signs or instructions. I think overall we waited about 45 min. Relatively small joint with may be about 15ish seats Ramsey was absolutely delicious - very flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Staff is friendly and ambience very comfortable. Definitely on my list of places to try again when I'm back in Tokyo

Yelp
Amazing chicken broth The butter rice and truffle was to die for Chicken dumplings so so can skip

Yelp
Very popular and different style ramen (Michelin rated) in Ginza. It's not that easy to find if you're using Google Maps because it's situated in the middle of an alleyway but there are multiple alleys you could potentially go down. Usually you can spot the line but if you're early, like I was, you will want to look for an alley that is adorned with signage that says "Soba" and has a wood paneled door. The alley is also a bit wider than the parallel alleys if that helps to locate this place. As for the line, it moves fairly quickly and I would say we only waited about 20-25 minutes for a party of 3. It's a very small, intimate restaurant with barely more than elbow room. We got seated in a corner and the good part is the ramen came out quickly and was piping hot. The broth is probably the highlight as it has a flavorful chicken flavor that was fairly rich. The chicken is a nice change up from seafood or pork based ramen bowls and the garnish vegetables were a nice flourish. Even with the lighter broth overall, I still felt completely satisfied and filled from one bowl. It is certainly worthy of it's popularity and rating and a good change-up if you're in the area.

Yelp
Was looking to be adventurous and try a different ramen that was not pork based and found this place. Ordered the chicken ramen and it was interesting. The soup was much thicker and creamier. It had a very Westernized profile to it. It reminded me of Campbell chicken cream soup flavoring. It was quite the struggle to wrap my head about this but it sort of worked. The chicken was very tender. Noodles were cooked well. The soup was too thick to really devour the whole bowl like what I usually do with pork ramen. I also their pork slices on the side and it was also very tasty. But I'm not sure if I'm fully sold with chicken ramen though, maybe if the broth is less thick maybe I would be more inclined.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite meal in Japan!! My friends and I came to this spot around 7PM and we waited for around 50 minute. This place is tucked away in an ally and there are two lines, which is confusing. One line is for ordering, and you go to the next line for seating with your tickets. My friends and I all got the Special chicken paitan ramen with fresh truffle and it was super yummy. I prefer the chicken paitan soup because it's lighter than some ramen options out there. We had a great dinner, and the service is extremely fast once you're seated probably because they had already started preparing your meals after you had paid and received the tickets. The restaurant is fairly small, so definitely come early or prepare to wait.

Katie R.

Yelp
Best ramen of my life! My partner and I enjoyed the char siu chicken with buttered rice as a side dish and then the special slow cooked chicken with soy sauce and truffle broth. The noodles were al dente and the rich savory flavor was out of this world yet it also didn't feel as heavy compared to a pork broth based ramen. They also had onion oil, vinegar, and their special seasoning available as condiments. The dining area is small and cramped but it adds to the exciting authentic experience in my opinion! We lined up about 45 minutes in the cold outside and it was absolutely worth the wait! They have English and Japanese menus available and take your order ahead of time when you're almost to the front of the queue. It is located in an alleyway and is a bit hidden. Cash only and they take your payment ahead of time before they serve your food.

Jill L.

Yelp
In a little alley! Truly hole in the wall. Super compact space, as are most restaurants in japan. Semicircle seating around the servers and one table facing the wall. Wait can be a while if you come during dinner time. We came right before dinner rush so wait was about 15 minutes. Very efficient service! Onto food!!! OMG. Japan has amazing food but this is by far the best food I've had here yet! (I've only been here for 4 days though haha) I got the Tsukemen dipping ramen in the chicken and porcini mushroom soy sauce flavor in regular size. AND IT WAS SOOOO FLAVORFUL AND DELICIOUS. I would fly back to Japan just for another bowl of this.

Ally W.

Yelp
First of all, before we even got into the restaurant, it started pouring. While we stood in the line outside waiting in the rain, some customers already had umbrellas or were able to get umbrellas quickly somehow. The weather forecast said sunny all day and we did not expect this rain at all, at least not this heavy. We weren't sure where to get an umbrella. The staff actually came out and gave us an umbrella! We were overwhelmed with this level of service. What's unique about this place is that the ramen broth has very intense chicken flavor. I don't know how they do it, but it is like chicken flavor on steroids. The broth is also buttery, but without tasting greasy. The noodles are done perfectly. We got both the #1 (chicken broth) and #3 (chicken broth with truffle paste). Talk about umami flavor! I could not get enough. The ramen is so comforting that this is the exact ramen soup I want if I get sick...or wet from the rain.

Craig C.

Yelp
We saw a video online recommending this spot for great ramen and we were not disappointed. It's a quant spot with limited seating but they have a very efficient process for taking orders and getting patrons seated. The ramen was delicious, would highly recommend.

Dianna H.

Yelp
Note: cash only This was our first ramen meal in Japan. I wanted to love it, as chicken broth-based ramen is my favorite, but the broth here was a little bit too rich for me. It was still really good though! My party of 4 came 10:45 on a Sunday (they open at 11), and there was already a long line. We didn't get seated until 11:55, so we waited for a little over an hour. I would recommend coming at least 30 min before opening, especially over the weekend. The front of the restaurant is located in an alley in Ginza, but we were able to find it okay with the help of Google Maps, especially once we saw the long line of people. They have menus in English and Chinese (and I think Korean as well?), which is exactly what my party needed. They're known for their chicken ramen, but they also offer dried sardine ramen and clam and oyster ramen. I went with #1 slow cooked chicken broth ramen (1200 yen) with the addition of an egg and the char siu Hokkaido pork (150 + 400 yen). Someone will take your order in line, and in a matter of minutes of getting seated, your ramen will be served. Like I mentioned above, I enjoyed the ramen but it wasn't my favorite. Rather than tasting like a clear chicken broth, the broth was so rich it tasted almost buttery to me. I found the chicken that comes with the ramen by default a bit bland, so I'm glad I ordered the char siu as a second meat. Everything else was good though, the noodles were cooked perfectly, the egg was soft boiled, and the char siu was very flavorful. Portions are big, so come hungry. They give you a lot of noodles. I still had a couple bites of noodles left after finishing all of my toppings, which almost never happens in the states. The restaurant is small with 13 counter seats and 4 seats off to the side, for a total of 17 seats. No wonder the wait is so long...

Ryan M.

Yelp
Ramen and service! Line was long but went real quick. The chicken broth was bomb and I would have to say a memorable ramen event. Definitely worth the wait, it was a clean ramen bc it was chicken based

Terrence S.

Yelp
I was very hesitant about this place since we came here as a backup and I usually prefer pork over chicken, but this place was easily my favorite ramen place in Japan. I'm not surprised this place was Bib Gourmand on the Michellin guide in the past, though looks like they are no longer on that list now. No matter though. It can be a bit difficult to find this place as the main entrance is in an alleyway in Ginza, and there was about a 25 minute wait as a walk in on a Saturday night, which isn't bad. Like most ramen places here, there is a machine that takes your order in the corner, and once that's completed you wait for a seat to open up and staff will direct you. I just had the original chicken ramen with no modifications, which is what they're known for, for a whopping 1400 yen. I love the presentation, the colors with the piece of thinly sliced dry fruit, cilantro, and clear broth that looks and tastes clean and not too heavy. The noodles were firm and flavorful with the soup. Then the chicken. I'm always worried places overcook it in soup and it becomes bland, but this is not the case. It's thinly sliced and juicy. My only complaint is I wish there were more frequent refills on water. It will be refilled if you ask, but not if you don't. And you will need water after drinking all the delicious broth. Based on the quality of the chicken ramen, cheap prices, and decently short wait times, I definitely recommend this place.

Will H.

Yelp
This is a popular (Michelin rated) ramen and soba restaurant in Ginza. Recommended to us by a fellow traveler. The entrance is in an alley way in Ginza district of Tokyo. Not too difficult to find. The line looks long, but moves fast. We had about 25+ people ahead of us, got seated within 40 minutes. You line up on one side to place order on machine for your ticket order. And then line up again another side to get seated. We got both the original and truffle broth. Regular size was more than enough. Got the special (red marked) to get the extra toppings. Broth is thicker. We preferred the truffle broth ramen. The noodles were delicious as well. Overall great ramen noodles. Worth the wait (not sure if we'd waited if over 1.5 hours...).

Yelp
I finally had the chance to check out Ginza Kagari after so many years and fortunately, my friends and I did not have to wait too long. I have heard so many great things about the chicken ramen here that I had to experience it for myself. Typically, I would not really go out of my way to order and eat chicken ramen, but that is the thing to get here. I ordered the chicken ramen with truffle and was blown away by how rich and thick the broth was. If you love flavor, you will likely enjoy this ramen. As I was nearing the end of my bowl, however, the heaviness of the broth became a bit overwhelming for me. The ramen was not bad, but it wasn't mind-blowing as I seem to have been expecting after hearing all of the raving reviews. I must say that as far as chicken breast goes, it was fairly tender (kind of tasted similar to chicken cooked sous vide). Considering how popular this restaurant is and how long you may need to wait in line (apparently can be up to 2 hours during peak times), I would say that Ginza Kagari is a little overhyped. If you happen to be in this area around Ginza and see that the line isn't too long, it might be worth checking this place out. If you are not able to do so, you are not missing out on anything major.

Casey T.

Yelp
Come here for a unique ramen experience! At first, I was put off by the chicken ramen, but once you taste it you'll understand. This ramen is extremely creamy and flavorful! Expect a long wait here - luckily they let you order and pay (cash only) in line, and once you get seated inside it is a short wait to get your food. The space inside is really small and cramped, but it adds to the intimate vibes. Honestly really reasonably priced for the high quality of food

Alyssa N.

Yelp
This tiny Michelin rated soba shop tucked away in a little alley is probably one of my top 3 ramen/soba bowls ever! There is almost always a line so you know it's good. Only counter seating is available with about 12 seats total Unlike most ramen with a pork based soup, this one is chicken based. They elevate it to the next level too with fresh black truffle! It just adds another level of flavor to the profile. I usually enjoy some of the soup first before mixing in the truffle. They have changed the line/que system since last year when I first discovered this gem in 2022. They have also doubled the prices but it's still worth it in my opinion. There is now a tickets registration outside the front door with a server there to help you get your ticket and they provide you with a menu. Next you stand in one line to get to the kiosk (no longer a vending machine) to pre purchase your order. Finally, you wait outside for your ticket number to be called. Today I only waited about 5-10 minutes as a single diner at 6 pm on a Wed evening. My 2 go to's are the Chicken Paitan ramen or the Chicken Paitan soy sauce ramen both with truffle. They are both delicious! The soup is quite rich so it's a very filling bowl of ramen. Usually the regular size is enough for me. They offer larger portions with extra noodles and toppings too. They do offer some other ramen like an oyster/clam and dipping ramen but I've never tried them since their speciality one is so good. This spot is definitely worth a visit!!!! It's delicious!

Ria N.

Yelp
There's no reservation so come early to line up. The Menu is pretty simple. It's a small restaurant that can only fit probably less then 20 people at a time so be patience.

Wilson C.

Yelp
Spent extra few min looking for this place. It is not in main road but have to go thru some alleyway. Short line outside. Japanese and English menu. Not too many items. Asked me to order before getting in. Ordered signature slow cooked chicken broth ramen and char soup on rice. Broth is really something. Good chicken taste but not too rich. I usually not consume much of broth on ramen but this one I almost finished it. Good ramen. Inside is small may eat little over a dozen ppl. COVID plastic divider on all seats. Take credit card.

Yelp
Of my list of ramen places to check out while in Japan, I did not expect to get to try this while in Tokyo during this particular trip. As I was traveling with a group of 6 which included my wife, in-laws, cousin and her mom, an hour wait for ramen seemed like it was a highly improbable option but everyone seemed game with waiting for it since we all had a late lunch and weren't exceptionally hungry. After some navigation through some streets and standing outside the wrong location, I see a sign that pointed through a narrow alleyway and found myself between the two lines(one for ordering/payment and one for seating). The hostess is quite attentive and will let you know if you are in the wrong line. We were quite lucky because within 5 mins of getting in line, a party of 6 came after us and a sign for last seating of the evening was placed right after them. I think that it was shortly after 8pm at this point so get here early if you don't want to miss out. There was a party of 1 right in front of me where he did not have to wait in the line for seating after he placed his order. We waited probably about an hour before we were able to have a seat this 15 seater establishment. I ordered the Special Chicken Tsukemen which came with extra chicken and egg but if I had to order again, I would order what my wife chose which was the Chicken Paitan Ramen with Fresh Truffle. Definitely flavorful and so satisfying that I slurped up all of her noodles and salty broth that she had not finished. Apparently our cousin said that it sounded like Vietnamese people run this restaurant which would not surprise me as they make excellent soup noodles.

Yelp
Fantastic Ramen, Michelin Star, and very affordable! This was the absolute best chicken ramen I've ever had. I've never had anything like it before. The broth was thick and flavorful, but not heavy. It was like I was drinking pure chicken. Every spoonful was amazing. Make sure to get a good taste of the broth before trying anything else. The noodles were outstanding. Straight noodles that were chewy and just the right texture. Went perfectly with the broth. The toppings were strange at first, but it made sense when I tasted them. Avocado in Ramen? Yeah, trust me, it was good. And the veggies and tomato were also surprisingly well matched with the broth and noodles. And don't forget to try the pepper and citrus seasoning. OMG! It kicked the whole bowl up to another level. Especially the citrus. YOU NEED TO TRY THE CITRUS!

Yelp
And here after reading this location had re opened in Ginza. Took a bit of work to find as was a bit off the map...however, found it with the help of a friendly local and we were on our way...this place was unusual in that their broth specializes in a chicken broth base...supposed to be lighter and not as hearty for summer months but on a chilly day in Ginza this worked wonders as well...delicate, flavorful and robust in flavors of garlic, truffle...absolutely stunning. Easily one of the best ramen I've experienced. The place as with most happened restaurants is tight but service is speedy and portions are good. Would highly recommend...was once Michelin rated (as of 2017) but still amazing even if not...I ordered the truffle flavor which was immense....if you're in Ginza well worth the visit...

Yelp
This is the best bowl of ramen I've ever had, and I'll forever be changed by it. Hidden in a back alley in Ginza, we came here 30 mins before opening on a Wednesday and were first in line. There are only 8 spots here, but you don't have to line up hours in advance to secure a seat at the bar table. Tori-paitan = creamy chicken broth. I can't hype this place up enough. Their broth, which is like chicken noodle soup, is rich and creamy. They instruct you to add a bit of vinegar and some spices when you're halfway through the bowl to bring out different flavours. The broth totally stole the show, but that's not to say that the noodle and soft, chewy chicken weren't also out of this world. Lastly, they don't take cash. Come with a credit card--you won't be sorry. Seriously. This bowl of ramen was under CAD $15. Somebody give these people back their Michelin star!

Yelp
Incredibly tasty ramen. Heavy chicken-based broth that is very unique -- I could have had only this! Basic ramen (they call it soba) comes with chicken, seasonal vegetables and noodles. You can add egg, more chicken or more vegetables, and also get a truffle version or soy sauce version. I got the regular and a side of butter chicken per a friend's recommendation (butter, chicken, slightly charred rice and a truffle soy sauce -- AMAZING). It was a big meal but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since! This is tucked away in Ginza in a back alley, so if you're using Google Maps to get there you will have to duck around a corner. Look for the sign that says "soba" outside. There is a small queue outside as the shop is very small, but there was barely a wait when I went on a Saturday at 11:30am during Golden Week. Not sure how that will change once people start getting clued in to this place! Also worth noting they only accept credit card. Fortunately it's a pretty cheap meal for ramen that was Michelin starred! My whole meal was only 1500¥.

Yelp
OMG the chicken truffle broth. Nuff said. Line was 30 people long and it was raining... I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Hard to find, there is a very small alley off the car passable street... go down that tiny alley hang a right and stuff your face.

Yelp
A great place to visit if you are in the area but be warned. The line can be long on weekends. Even on a weeknight there were about 15 people on line. Service: everyone is friendly and the place is cashless which I love! Applepay, suica app, and credit cards are you only option of payment. Decor: this place is elegant for a ramen place. The placemat and the small details they focus on from the chopsticks and silver cups of water. Great view into the kitchen. Food: the broth is amazing! The ramen felt elegant and elevated compared to other ramen shops. The peeled tomato and green beans were a nice touch with an earthy refreshing taste. However, eat the kitchen right away and dont wait until the end because it will turn a bit rubbery. If you like spicy ramen, then good luck dumping the entire pepper bottle in the ramen to give it a slight kick. Summary: stop by, get the Tori Paitan soba. You'll love the place and decor. But make sure you come on the weekdays to avoid the crowd. Place is in an alley but you'll find it by the line.

Yelp
Became aware of this place because of YouTuber Mark Wiens. Went to check them out and oh. My. God. Their ramen is FANTASTIC. Probably the best ramen I have ever tasted in my entire life. It's so good I came here twice on my trip to Japan. This place has absolutely ruined all ramen outside of Japan for me. I dream about this ramen and it calls to me. I will be back one day and we shall be reunited.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious and affordable. There will be a wait so don't go hungry. The specialty is Chicken ramen. Add the vinegar and fixings in halfway through for a different experience.
