I'd go anywhere for a colour from Tasha. I'm so pleased and grateful she's at the lovely Josh Wood Atelier. Tasha is truly an expert and a perfectionist. Her colour knowledge and ability to quickly assess what a client wants and needs and what's possible with the hair you have is mind blowing. She's been doing my hair for a few years now and instinctively knows what I want. 'I arrive with a bunch of ideas set out in random words and Tasha turns that dream into reality. She deserves all the accolades she gets. What's even more. she's graceful, humble, friendly and warm and just an all round lovely human being. I can recommend her highly only because I know if my and others reviews made her even busier, she'd always find time for me. Her clients matter to her and no wonder we're all so loyal. She's fits so perfectly into this lovely salon.

I’ve been going to Veronica at Josh Wood for some time now, and she is simply amazing with blonde colour! She always gets it just right, and I trust her completely. She’s also incredibly speedy without compromising on quality, which is a huge plus. The atmosphere at Josh Wood is fantastic—everyone is so friendly and professional. The coffee is always great, and I have to give a special shout-out to the assistant, Maria, who is particularly kind and attentive. Highly recommend Veronica and the whole team at Josh Wood!

Another excellent scalp bleach from Tasha, perfect creamy white. It's so hard to find people that are brilliant at 100% bleach and Tasha always gets it perfect every time. We always discuss the tone in a lot of detail and tweak it every time to get the best result. Couldn't be happier with my Colour than when Tasha does it.

My first time at the salon - so convenient next to Holland Park station. Jade has done my hair for a while and is amazing for bleaching long blond hair so it looks natural and healthy. Samuel did one of the best blow drys I’ve had in years. I worked on my laptop the whole time and they just let me get on with it and sent me out 3 hours later feeling a million dollars :)

Really cool salon which delivers 5 star services and impeccably clean. Have always found staff to be professional and helpful and have always had great experiences. I must make particular mention of the fabulous colourist that is Jason Hogan. I am very particular about my colour and Jason is one of the very few people that I trust to do my colour implicitly. We’ve gone on several journeys over the years with my hair and he’s brought me from deep multidimensional brunettes to beachy blonde moments. Not only are my colours custom made but they blend seamlessly. His recommendation of products not only maintain my colour in between visits but have transformed the health and integrity of my hair.

Awful colour experience here - I’ve been highlighting my hair for 17 years and this was the only time I’ve ever had to complain to a salon! Had a t section with Bryony - asked to keep it creamy blonde (specifically said I hate yellow hair). Whole process felt incredibly rushed and I was taken to be washed out after less than 20mins under heat (at my usual salon 30-40). Result looked a bit yellow in the salon but I thought I’d give it a couple of washes to settle - it got even worse and by a week post appointment was a horror show. Bright yellow pieces, big gaps to root and somehow it made my natural base colour look far darker than it is! Colour was clearly underdeveloped as hadn’t sat for long enough. Contacted josh wood who initially said I could pay (!!) for a gloss to correct it. I pointed out that a gloss would only change the colour temporarily and also wouldn’t lighten my hair, which was the primary issue (setting aside the badly done foils with gaps) as the bleach was not left long enough to take. They then said that someone would do a gloss for free but that was it. This second time they took 2 days to reply to me and - as I had a big social event coming up - I made an urgent call to my normal hairdresser (Hari’s) who thankfully squeezed me in. I ended up paying them to completely re-do the foils as they confirmed that the colour had not lifted sufficiently and no gloss was going to correct that… I was asked at Hari’s if a trainee had done the foils as they couldn’t believe how badly they were put in - they showed me how there were none in some parts of my hair and others there were huge, too thick pieces coloured. It is going to take several appointments to grow through some of these chunks of colour and get back to the fine, more natural highlights I’ve had for years. Shocking experience given I was recommended Josh Wood by a friend (who was equally horrified when she saw my hair..) and given it’s reputation and price point. I should also say that I’ve had my hair cut here before and the stylist - Sophie - was great so I was not expecting my colour to be an issue. I have since received a generic mail out from them saying the stylist who butchered my hair (Bryony) has left but go at your own peril - I’m not convinced they properly vet their staff and are trying to push clients through at a ridiculous pace. Staff all seemed very miserable on the colour floor - the salon assistant who washed my hair did it at breakneck speed (one shampoo, no head massage offered) and seemed very unhappy too, snapping at various other staff members whilst doing so. All in all, if you want a relaxing, professional experience go elsewhere - and a shout out to Hari’s South Kensington who fixed it! Ask for Alex there, she’s a miracle worker. First two photos - the mess Josh Wood made, third photo after Alex @ Hari’s fixed it. EDIT: the response from salon is untrue, I was offered an appointment for a gloss.. as above, a gloss would not fix the problem. No colour correction appointment was offered and it was nothing to do with availability.

Dan is a fabulous colourist & made me feel very comfortable getting my hair done with him. He understood perfectly what I wanted and I am completely in love with my new colour! I booked for a half head but Dan was very accommodating when I decided last minute I’d like a full head of highlights done. I was quite nervous and really wanted to avoid that striped look as I have naturally curly hair & have ended up with it in the past. I could not be more pleased with the way it looks! So golden warm & beautifully bouncy, Dan made sure to keep the health of my curls. The salon is so lovely and relaxed, such a great vibe and unlike lots of salons who say you must have a blow dry with your colour they were very chilled & happy for me to style and dry my hair myself. Such a relaxing, enjoyable experience including a lovely head massage from Matthias (probably spelt this wrong!). The salon is also so nicely decorated inside and out & very clean. Thank you very much Dan you are a superstar colourist & so deserve your promotion and thanks Josh Wood Colour, I’ll definitely be back :)

I really had better exceptions for a hair color that cost me £340 just for highlights and a color toner. Some might find the final result funky but I asked for something more subtle and low lights. Instead I ended up with chunky blonde bits which is not my style!

Yelp
The worse ever, they damaged my hair, took too long to try to fix it and at the end, way very expansive. Not recommended at all

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at this salon. The staff are very professional and the guy who coloured my hair (semi-permanent) did a great job: not a single bit of grey left. My hair last looked like this 20 years ago. As I had never had my hair coloured before, they also gave me a free blow dry, which was very kind of them. Recommended!

Yelp
I've been to both locations. Haircut was the worst I've had in years! I brought a pic and yet the so called stylist managed to butcher my hair. Went for pedi and i just got a buff and coating. No trimming cuticles or massage. The receptionist was rude. DON'T GO HERE! Stylists are horrible!

Yelp
I have been to get my hair highlighted at both of his salons and also had a manicure. The colouring first time was ok, the blow dry was appalling and the manicure was one of the worst I've ever had. The second time I went to the salon at Liberty's which is small, cold and uncomfortable. I noticed when I got home that the roots were showing but didn't go back as I was then I'll and Christmas was upon us. I returned yesterday and was told their policy is that if you are unhappy about something that you need to report it straight away. They were completely unapologetic and obviously couldn't care less whether a (potentially) good customer was unhappy. The receptionist at both salons are like ice maidens and obviously think that you should think yourself lucky to be having your hair done there at all. The whole thing is a con and they have firmly set their sights on the Notting Hillbilly's who have more money and time than sense. Go at your peril.
