This modern diner serves up all-day Italian-inspired delights like killer pasta and hand-tossed pizzas in a chill, bustling atmosphere.
"Jon & Vinny’s needs no introduction - the Italian restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants in LA, and for good reason. The pizza, pasta, little gem salad, and just about everything else on the menu is the kind of East Coast-style Italian food you can’t really find in LA. Available for takeout and delivery, but be sure to order early - wait times get unruly quickly." - brant cox
"We don’t need to remind anyone about the existence of Jon & Vinny’s, but one aspect of this Italian spot on Fairfax that we’ll continue to point out is that it’s open all day. And while we’re big proponents of their breakfast situation (the BLT is a must), come lunchtime, it’s the same menu as it is at night. The only difference is you don’t have to make a reservation a month in advance to experience it. There are also outdoor “cabanas” going down Fairfax now, which offer even more room to fill up your table with meatballs, gem lettuce, and spicy fusilli." - brant cox, sylvio martins
"Your Order: Gem Lettuce Salad The gem lettuce salad at this Fairfax staple is simple: little gem leaves, chili dressing, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. But we maintain there’s a fifth ingredient sourced from the dark side in here, because there’s no other explanation for how they make this so good. You’re probably going to need something to balance out all the pizza and pasta you eat at Jon & Vinny's, and it should be this salad." - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore, garrett snyder, nikko duren
"“I think they're fabulous, but I mean, I can only go there every once in a while just because sadly, my stomach can't take it,” Giada says of the Italian spot on Fairfax. It’s best during the day, when you don’t have to fight for a table or shout to be heard and can enjoy a table filled with well-executed spicy gem salad, orange fusilli, and burrata pizza." - brennan carley
"“Any time my family comes to town, we grab a meal at Jon & Vinny’s. There is a reason why Jon & Vinny are so well-regarded in LA, and it’s because they are genuinely the best. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Italian food, specifically pasta. The picnic tables in the back are so cute, too.” " - brennan carley
