"Set in Microcentro and not too far from Borges Cultural Center and the Naval Center, this hotel plays with a nautical theme and keeps things simple with a blue, white and tan palette. Hardwood floors, round mirrors on the walls, and well placed furnishings in leather and suede lend the lounge a welcoming vibe. Step out onto the eighth-floor rooftop for a dip in the pool or a siesta in a comfy lounger. It's an affordable and comfortable option if you are traveling solo and don't need tons of space." - Celeste Moure

"In the bustling Microcentro, not far from tony Recoleta, this funky (but not too funky) contemporary hotel breaks away from the neighborhood’s more bland chain hotels that are generally higher priced. The art deco–style Hotel Pulitzer, part of a minichain with additional properties in Paris and Barcelona , doesn’t shy away from bold colors or modish interiors. Barcelona designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán splashes the stark whites and light-filled spaces with bright blues and oranges to great effect, while the eclectic collection of vintage furniture and contemporary art helps bring a global flair to the property. The hip lobby cocktail bar has a wine cellar that rivals many of the neighborhood's top restaurants, while a chic library is a good place to retreat with a book or check one’s email. During the summer months, the hotel takes on new life via its seventh-floor pool with teak loungers, and the open-air rooftop with a stylish bar on a wood deck that serves up classic cocktails and dramatic views of the cityscape."

"How did it strike you on arrival? Set in Microcentro and not too far from Borges Cultural Center and the Naval Center, this hotel plays with a nautical theme and keeps things simple with a blue, white, and tan palette. Hardwood floors, round mirrors on the walls, and well placed furnishings in leather and suede lend the lounge a welcoming vibe. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Good use of contemporary furniture, a clean color scheme, and lots of natural light make rooms feel bigger than they are—all designed by Barcelona’s Contemporain Studio. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. Step out onto the eighth-floor rooftop for a dip in the pool or a siesta in a comfy lounger. Bottom line: worth it, and why? An affordable and comfortable option if you are traveling solo and don't need tons of space." - Celeste Moure

We stayed at the Pulitzer Hotel for 2 nights before our Antartica cruise in January 2025 and then an additional 7 nights after the cruise. It was a perfect choice because it is centrally located in town and only a block away from Calle Florida which is the pedestrian shopping street filled with restaurants, shops, bookstores, coffee shops, and the Galerias Pacifico. Plus the General San Martin Subte stop is only a 5 minute walk away. |The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and it was a great way to start the day. |The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. I particularly wanted to thank Rafael Perez for making us feel welcomed after traveling for over 15 hours from LAX. And for all his assistance in making sure we arrived to the correct port for our cruise. A big shout out to Lucas Salguero for arranging our 3 day excursion to Iguazu Falls with Caracol Internacional. Every aspect of the excursion was taken care of from all ground and air transportation, the perfect hotel accommodation at the O2 Hotel in Iguazu, and the guided tours. |We can highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one night. Great location - near to lots of shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff very accommodating. Rooms a little dated but comfortable. Nice breakfast area. Rooftop bar open in the evening. Many nice areas in hotel to sit and visit.

We stayed at the Pulitzer over New Year’s and loved it! Spacious rooms, a swimming pool, attentive staff and a great location. And a lovely breakfast included. I researched a lot of hotels and this price point was amazing value! Quiet neighborhood and close to the port and excellent restaurants. I just loved everything about this hotel.

Great location and solid hotel for the price. I enjoyed my room on the 11th floor with a balcony overlooking the city. The rooms are clean and the A/C works well. Sure, the rooms could use a minor touch up, but overall I was happy with my stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Centrally located within a few minutes walk to a lot places. There is a little convenience store right at the entrance of the hotel which is nice to have for drinks/snacks throughout the stay. Nice in-house restaurant and bar, as well as the rooftop bar. My only criticism is that the laundry service prices are egregious. If I remember correctly, is was something like $25USD to have a shirt dry-cleaned. As someone who's usually on 3-week long business trips, I depend on hotel laundry service, but this was too over-the-top.

Centrally situated and walkable to the Recoleta, Puerto Madero, and San Telmo neighborhoods, Hotel Pulitzer makes for an affordable points redemption with a great staff. However, there is significant variation amongst rooms within the same category, and the hotel could use a cosmetic refresh.||Check-in:|We arrived around midday off a red-eye from the United States. Staff were very helpful and able to get us into a room even though it was several hours before the appointed check-in time. We were originally supposed to stay on the second floor, though they were able to give us a higher floor upon request.||Room:|Due to some quirks about our stay (not any issue with the hotel, we stayed in three different twin rooms over the course of about two weeks. These rooms were very different in quality. Our first two rooms were decidedly average, though the third featured a spacious balcony which was a highlight. One thing to note is that the twin rooms are not true twin rooms; the beds are pushed together and cannot be pulled apart, though they are made individually. It feels like a queen size bed (they are standard twin beds, not twin XL) though each person has their own sheets and blanket. Rooms were overall generous with space, though this was also quite dependent on layout. Our third room (with the balcony) felt much more spacious than the first two. A lowlight of the rooms was the tired feeling of all the finishes. There were scuff-marks on the baseboards and outlet covers, and we encountered more than one faulty light switch (though lighting was more than adequate and all of it worked). A small touch up to these spaces would go a long way. Rooms also lacked bathrobes and ironing supplies which I would expect for a hotel at this caliber (Ironing supplies were available upon request though bathrobes were not)||Amenities:|Amenities in this hotel are generally quite good, though poorly advertised. Breakfast is included, though we did not figure that out until near the end of our stay as the front desk staff were unsure whether it was included in our rate. The pool was small and wanting of an update, but a nice feature to have nonetheless. And there was a nice lounge on the first floor (second floor in American parlance) that seemed to rarely be used by other guests. During my stay, there were two restaurants on site, including the Boca Del Toro, a classic hotel bistro that was priced accordingly, and a rooftop bar. The bar was the highlight, with good cocktails and ambiance, though a less than stellar view. The hotel is in the Retiro neighborhood which is close to many major attractions and delicious restaurants, though the immediate vicinity of the hotel is largely underwhelming.||Service:|Service was a highlight throughout our stay. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive, though it occasionally felt as though some staff members were disempowered to help with certain tasks. At one point during our stay, we needed a key to lock the door to the balcony and needed to wait until the staff member with access to the key cabinet returned the next day. Despite this, requests were generally handled promptly and staff were a pleasure to interact with.||Bottom Line:|Hotel Pulitzer offers great value (especially with points) and a generally high quality product across the board. On future trips, I might want to explore other neighborhoods with proximity to the most interesting restaurants, but I would be perfectly happy returning to Hotel Pulitzer in the future.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, the pictures on the website do not match the actual hotel rooms, they are run down, old and smelly rooms. I would never in a million years stay here again. They tried to make things better one day and offered us a better room, that didn’t happen but instead they showed us a room just like ours. Hotel staff is ok until you actually have issues then they are definitely not there to help.

Like a lot of other reviews mention, the hotel and rooms are a bit dated, the pool was not very clean and the overall vibe was “lived in” and scruffy. The second lift was broken for half our stay. Good location though, restaurants close by. The breakfast buffet was good too.

Having just arrived in Buenos Aires from London The Pulitzer was a great choice as it felt fairly central and very safe. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the staff were very helpful. It was quiet at night. The breakfast was varied and plentiful
