Although the location is great, service is good and the hotel itself is quite stunning, the experience left me with a bitter taste. ||The Good: as I said, the location is great, in the very centre in the 9éme of Paris, in a cute pedestrian street with a church in front, which made it very quiet, no street noise. All teams were professional and polite (reception, bar, housekeeping), breakfast was very good, and the hotel decoration was beautiful. Also, the in-room amenities (both free and payable) were awesome. ||The Bad: it is a very old building, and the noises coming from within the hotel are hard to ignore. Also, and I know this is difficult to control in big cities, I had the bad surprise of finding a cockroach in the shower the day I was leaving.||The Ugly: what I disliked the most was the reservation process. I was travelling on business with my team. Unfortunately, one of the team members had a very serious medical emergency that prevented them from coming. When I explained the situation to the hotel, a full week prior to our arrival, and asked if something could be done regarding their reservation, they were very inflexible, they did not even proposed a commercial gesture. I understand the reservation agreement did not cover this instance, but their lack of empathy and flexibility really surprised me. We were a group of 10 people, and this was affecting just one room. I later found out that they were fully booked during my stay, so they'd not have lost any money.||For this reason, and this reason only, because I think the human side of hospitality is essential, I will not return to this hotel.
