Ambiance Shines, but the Food Falls Short :/
Hotel Albergo certainly knows how to set the stage for a memorable evening. The ambiance is inviting, with decor that effortlessly blends elegance and comfort. The service is attentive and adds to the overall experience, making you feel well taken care of from the moment you walk in.
However, when it comes to the food, the experience starts to falter. While the quality of the ingredients is evident, the execution leaves much to be desired, especially considering the premium pricing.
The Sliced Portobello was a highlight, earning an 8/10 for its robust flavor and perfect texture. Unfortunately, the Shrimp and Avocado dish was disappointing, with a lack of seasoning that left it bland and unmemorable, meriting only a 5/10. The Pâtes aux Trois Tomates was another strong dish, rich and satisfying, deserving of a 8/10.
But then came the Escalope à la Milanaise—a $50 plate that was essentially a thin slice of breaded veal. The overwhelming taste of the breadcrumbs overshadowed the rest of the dish, making it hard to justify the steep price. This dish also scored a 5/10.
In summary, while the atmosphere and service at Hotel Albergo are top-notch, the food doesn't quite live up to expectations. The ingredients are there, but the value for money is not.
You'd hope for a dining experience that leaves you eager to return, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time around.
